Browser Speed - Thunderbolt General

I posted this on another forum, and the conclusion was that flash support is why I've found that nearly all web pages load faster on my wife's iPhone 4 than my Thunderbolt.
I'm not really satisfied with that answer... does anybody else notice that there is a delay before web pages actually load? The delay is usually a second or more, and occurs in all the browser's I've tried so far. On my wife's iPhone 4, there is absolutely no delay on loading most sites. I've put the phones side to side, and gone to a variety of websites doing my best to press the load button at the same time. iPhone always loads the page initially quicker than the Thunderbolt.
After the second or so delay, web pages load pretty quick, but that delay really gives the feeling of a sluggish browsing experience.
Any way to remedy this? I've tried turning off flash support, but had no luck.
UPDATE: Made a quick video comparison. It's obviously NOT a well-controlled experiment . I'm sure there is a couple millisecond difference between finger pushes on each phone, but either way the iPhone loads the page quicker. I just recorded whitehouse.gov, since neither phone has been on that site AFAIK since we got them. But I assure you that the same difference happens on most other websites. I'm in a well-covered 4g area, and speed tests the past couple of weeks ranged from 10 - 20 mbps down and 6-15 mbps up, so I don't think that's the problem. I'm using the Miren browser in this video, but I've also tried Oper HD, dolphin lite, and the stock browsers.

It's not a 'problem' per se. I love the phone. I'm just wondering a) if anybody else has noticed this, and b) if anybody has any alternative explanations for why browsing, at least for me, doesn't seem blazing fast... particularly since I'm on the 4G LTE network, and the only other phone I've had experience with (iPhone) seems to have a faster browsing experience despite being limited to 3G.

The stock browser is sluggish. I have noticed the same thing with the browser hanging but only on sense roms. I switched to miren browser and all is well.

I have noticed this. I'm rooted but on the stock ROM and I see significant slowness in the browser. Sometimes the browser will not load a page at all and the bar will stay at around 75% complete and never go any further. If I close the browser and try again it will sometimes completely load but most times I just have to wait and try it later. This is not what I was experiencing when I first got it.

None of my browsers fail to begin loading the page immediately after I hit "go" :/

Coming from the Archos and ViewSonic tablets, plus Galaxy S phones, I got in the habit of only using Dolphin Browser.
My TBolt is fine in Dolphin Browser, and exceeds the Archos A70 that I use every day. I try to maintain low expectations, that way I can be positively surprised.

The stock browser works very smoothly for me on cm7, and I'm not overclocked. You could always try dolphin or opera.

xScope is my favorite for speed and features.
I only use the stock browser for Hulu now.

If my GFs iphone loaded pages more quickly than my Tbolt on 4G, I would definitely consider that a problem. What are your typical 4G download speeds? I get between 14-20 Mbps on speakeasy.net (stock browser)

Going to try and take a video of the comparison if I can tonight so you guys can judge.

Youtube buffering issues

So I have always a lot of buffering lag/stutter when trying to watch YouTube videos on my wifi xoom. I thought it was just a network issue and have been ignoring it. A couple of weeks ago my wife got an Ipad 2, I noticed she had none of the issues I was having. We are sitting side by side watching the same HD videos with the same wifi connections but hers plays flawlessly while mine buffers so much and so often it is practically unwatchable. I did some Googling and found lots of posts of people with similiar problems but no solutions that work. Any ideas?
Xoom: Wifi, rooted, Tiamat Tom 1.1, oc CPU at 1.5, oc gpu, huluified flash
i was reading it's a custom kernel issue in another post. flash to stock and try it.
I have the same problem on my stock wifi model.

Thank for the suggestion but I had the same issue before I rooted and customized.
I've noticed the same thing (though to be fair I also have a bad internet connection). But I actually get better performance if I use Splashtop and buffer the video on my computer then stream it to the Xoom.
I changed my home router to a netgear that can handle the ton of data and speed of hd youtube videos. That was the only way I could get data faster. Seems the older routers just can't get it fast enough.

I can get smooth streaming HD video on every other device in my house (Logitech Revue Google TV, HTC Inspire, all computers wifi and wired)...it's only on my Xoom that this happens.
interesting! My ipad used to stutter really bad. That's one of the reasons I switched to the xoom (which is smooth as butter).
So I thought this was interesting, I tried out Maxthon browser today and YouTube ran smoothly on HD videos for the first time since I bought the Xoom. Coincidence? Maybe, time will tell. Just thought I would share.
I don't even use the YouTube app the browser works much faster and probably better than the ipad make sure you have flash 10.3 installed though.

I've never had a problem with virtuous inquisition. And if you can live without a camera, Jelly bean has basically no lag anywhere

Since you are talking about browsing, it also depends on what connection speed you get & page load time.
If you are multitasking, & browsing, it sometimes is sluggish.
Try a different kernel, and clock it to 1.5GHz, that should be good enough.
The scrolling on the sensation's default browser is never smooth.
OT: tinky1 just made a mention of something that might make your post legible, there was no need to go on about it. The thread is about scrolling, stick to that topic please.

Masqued crusader?

I was having slow downloads...I even tried complaining to Verizon saying my 3g was going faster than my 4g...they said I might be getting better 3g signal than my 4g...SO...I found this app I paid for and didn't notice much when I had my fascinate and tried it on my CHARGE...Iam noticing download times almost cut in half...iam not sure why...does anyone know of a better internet speed enhancer or notice it being faster when using this app?
simply tweaked 3.o...dressed in adw and other paid apps

I use network signal:
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=de.android.telnet
By the looks of that app it is more for signal than enhancement. .
Tweaked 3.0 and Transparent ICS 5.0 Beta
Yeah...I looked at it...this crusader app is working but not sure if it is because it only uses dedicated servers or if it is doing it some other way...like tasker ...or an app prioritizer...I was basically asking if I had been fooled...I don't know much about it
simply tweaked 3.o...dressed in adw and other paid apps
It looks like
1. It uses Google's DNS instead of Verizon's (or whoever the stock is) which is faster by virtue
2. Also creates a local "cache" of DNS lookups for your most frequently visited sites so they load even faster.
Am I wrong? Only scratching the surface? that's all I gleaned from the description.

..but the last two test with 4g...this app was getting slower down loads than when turned off...

Is chrome laggy for everyone?

Got my brand new AT&T Note Pro this week and am really happy with it. The only performance hiccup I've noticed though, is scrolling in Chrome is really laggy. Any suggestions for improving it? Also, are there any other good browsers you guys are using?
Never mind, right after I posted this I remembered I had turned on the data saver feature in Chrome. Turning that off made all the difference.
...annnnnnd never mind my previous never mind. Still laggy. Dolphin much snappier, but I don't like the way it scrolls, it always seems to coast an inch or two past where I want it to stop.
I never use Chrome, since it has no plugin support. (Adblock&Flash).
You could try Firefox. Though I prefer Dolphin; never encountered scroll issues. Did you try changing Scrolling Speed under settings>advanced?

Yeah, it didn't seem to make a difference... but then again I only used it for about 30 minutes. I'll give it a longer try tonight. Are you using Firefox?
I find Chrome beta is currently a little smoother than the current Chrome app.
Also, in chrome://flags I usually up the max tiles of interest setting to 512.

I used to, but it won't allow me to sort my bookmarks into folders. Which isn't an issue if you have 10-20, but I have 430. Dolphin does. (And has more functionality).

superslow browsing in both stock and chrome

Hi,
Im an iphone 6 convert, i was used to having fast loading and instant page back.
On the S7 I found that browsing is superslow, loading pages is slow and when I go back a page, it reloads the whole page again.
The stock is a little faster than chrome, but not much. Plus I want chrome for syncing.
Im on 5ghz, 5m away from router. DL speed is superfast, so no issue there. Other apps works just fine and fast.
Seems to me that the S7 should easily be able to handle this.....my moto g 1 almost does it better
Tried 4G and chrome beta and dev, dev seems a little faster, but not much. Little dissapointed.
Anyone the same issue?
Perhaps chrome canary from play store will help you ?
