XDAndroid FRX06 + RHOD500 + HTC Touch Pro II = Stuck in airplane mode - Android Software/Hacking General [Developers Only]

I got FRX06 loaded on a microSD, configured with RHOD500, popped it in the HTC Touch Pro II (Sprint), and all was happy the first time. Made a phone call from XDAndroid, all was going good.
Subsequent runs, XDAndroid is stuck in airplane mode. To resolve, I've tried:
1) Turning airplane mode off in settings. Every time I go back, I find airplane mode turned on again.
2) Seeing if in Windows, airplane mode is turned on. It is not.
3) Starting from scratch and replacing everything on the microSD card from the original FRX06 contents / download. Booted up, went through install again, after install, ended up in airplane mode again.
Any ideas? What was done for XDAndroid is sweet, I wanna show the franken-phone!

HTC Hero Stuck in Safe Mode

Hi,
I hope you can help.
I recently changed the ROM on my HTC to the VillainROM12.0 . This worked fine. However, since the rom change, the phone itself has since been stuck in safe mode. I have tried everything to get out of it, by holding down the menu and power keys on boot up, taking out the battery and leaving it out. I then changed the ROM to HeroDroid 07, this rom loaded fine, but the phone is still stuck in safe mode. I managed to get the phone out of safe mode once, but on re-boot it's gone back in again. The phone is a UK Orange issue Hero and was working fine before the ROM change, as far as I can tell all the buttons are working. I have also re-flashed the phone with the ROM several times, but it's still the same.
I called Orange, and they said, "they detected a fault" and gave me a code to report to HTC, the code is FW229 - how they can detect a fault, I don't know. I have the option to send it back to HTC for repair or Pay £15.00 to have another Hero delivered.
Do you think this is a genuine fault with the phone, or is it something to do with the Rom change and how to get out of safe mode? Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks in advance.
Hi, I Have the Same problem with my Hero.
- All roms i found here are starting in safe mode only.
- All roms with android 1.5 are starting normal without safe mode
Maybe a rom developer can help us to turn off the "safe mode" feature.
I rolled back to the 1.5 HTC Orange Rom from the HTC site and yes, safe mode is off. As soon as I tried to update to 2.1 again, back in to safe mode. I did not unlock the phone before the update, so am wordering if this is why? However, it's the same with the Sim out, so I have no idea why it does this. I am wordering if this problem is only with orange issue phones?
Any ideas would be great.
How have you managed to get the phone out of safe mode?
I managed to get the phone out once, by holding down all the buttons on boot, but when I re-booted the phone after, it went back to safe mode and I have not managed to get it out of safe mode since. I downgraded to 1.5 and it did not show safe mode, but soon as any 2.1 rom is installed, it goes back to being in safe mode. Holding down the menu and power keys should either take it out or put it in safe mode on boot, but does nothing when 2.1 is installed, all I get is safe mode.
Any ideas anyone?
Can an admin please move this thread in the HTC Hero: G2 Touch section?
I think there we would get more help
Heron HTC stuck in safe mode
I spent two days trying to get "Safe Mode" off my Hero HTC after upgrading the ROM to version 2.1. I called my provider and even HTC but no help from either. I found an obscure posting that said to power on the phone while holding down the track ball and that did it. There are also other power on options: hold volume button up or down, hold menu down, hold menu + back...but for me, none of these helped...only the track ball.

[Q] Flashed Froyo...do I posses a brick now?

Yet another problem with my effing phone. Flashed my Galaxy S (GT-I9000M) to a Froyo ROM, worked fine for about 4-5 days. Then all of a sudden, after not doing a single thing, the phone wont leave sleep mode (or I guess wont turn back on). The touch buttons on the bezel are lit up. Force restart and it hangs at the Galaxy S load screen. Just sits there for a minute or two, goes black, and then comes back. I cant enter recovery more OR download mode. Any suggestions?
Best!

[Q]

My HTC Surround fell out of my hand while on a bike going very fast down a hill and into a puddle of water, and when I got it out it wouldn't turn on. When it finally did my phone was completley wiped and reset and I had to sign in with a different Windows Live ID. Then all of a sudden my phone restarted and turned on and it was back to the original way it was before I had dropped it. It was fine for a few hours until it died, then whenever it rebooted it did in the bootloader screen. When I called HTC I got some hard to understand foreign woman and all she told me to do was a hard reset which doesn't work because when I go to press the volume down button to select the reset option it does absolutley nothing. I have tried the Camera button + Power + volume to downloader mode but it just sits in download mode then reboots into bootloader. It is not recognized by the computer unless it's in Download mode or "connect to pc" mode and Zune tells me that theres an error and it cannot fix the device. I downloaded the Windows Fix Tool and it also says the device cannot be fixed and there's no restore point. And I cannot take it to HTC or AT&T because I am out of warranty. So, any ideas here? Is it completley done?
Dude you should've took the battery out first thing, but it still could be salvageable.
You could try the rice trick:

Good luck!

SIMCARD: No cellular and call connection

Hey guys,
Somehow my phone is stuck forever in airplane mode. I have tried flashing multiple ROMS, going back to fully stock, even with a locked bootloader or without custom recovery. But somehow the problem still stays. I seriously don't know how this even started.. I knew for sure it was the airplane mode's fault when I wanted to call some kind of number for the radio settings, but I got a message saying I had to turn airplane mode off.
But, it is not even turned on anyway. Now what? Help is appreciated guys!!
Edit3: When pressing on the power key, when you get the small menu it shows me that (while no simcard in) airplane mode is constantly turning on and off, I also get a constant repeating/flickering notification in my status bar.
I also tried using my sister her simcard, but it gives the same result. But, my simcard works in her phone. I was able to use 3g etc.
I have exactly the same issue. It appeared today after being away for a few days and having my phone on airplane mode + Wifi the entire time. I have tried flashing back to stock w/full wipe and reflashing radio. In *#*#4636#*#* menu I see that radio is "off". See screenshot attached.
