If you didn't sign for either and they were just left on your door, then you have a question to ask yourself
Are you a person concerned with "Ethics"? If so test both, see which one has less bugs and screen bleed, then send back your original and the lesser of the two replacements
If not, call T-Mobile and check your order history WITHOUT mentioning you got two G2X replacements, and ask for tracking numbers associated to any orders including warranty replacements.
If only one G2X order exists in the system, match the tracking number to its phone and use only THAT phone never turning on the other one
Get a replacement battery cover from LG, a charger and battery online, sell as new no box on Craigslist with a prepaid number, delete the ad and email, throw the prepaid sim away, profit.
Mail the extra one to me. :O

I don't know if this is true or not, but I read a post on HoFo today that said HTC is now equipped to sell original accessories for the Nexus One including the original Android sleeve that ships with the phone.
If you want to give it a shot, the number to HTC's accessory sales department is 1-888-716-3594. I tried calling them today, but they were already closed. I'd call again tomorrow, but I work during their same business hours. For those interested please post if you find out whether or not we can order replacement sleeves instead of haggling with other XDA members for each others.
I called to price out a replacement battery and they took my info and said they would either email or call me with pricing information and could take my order at that point.
What are the chances they're selling the mythical car dock?
(I'm kidding, I assume we'd have heard about it from Google if it was ready).
Please Share
I would love to hear the prices, if anyone gets any information at all, please share
Just got off the phone with them. I asked if they carried the stock Nexus One sleeve, he asked if I needed one sent out to me. He asked for my IMEI number, confirmed my address, and said he would send one right out. No charge. I also asked if they carry any other Nexus One accessories and was told only the other original accessories that come with the Nexus. The entire conversation lasted 3 minutes.

10 dollars I just bought one from htc
oh yeah! i didnt go for the sleeve, i asked for a new pair of headphones! my left earpiece was yanked off at work last week..
first rep. denied my request coz i told her it was my fault my left earpiece came off. DAMN IT!!!! i hate being so honest!
the next day i called again and told the other rep. my headset was defective. THIS TIME I LIED! the rep then processed my request and sent me a new pair. FOR FREE
im not tryin to scam htc or anything, i was ready to buy the stock headphones i like how i can skip rewind play and pause my music with the stock headphones and i think the sound quality was alright. BUT HEY IF THEY ARE GIVING THEM FOR FREE ILL TAKE IT ANYTIME OF THE DAY!
its weird they are not selling them but rather give them to nexus one owners.

What do you mean you were ready to buy??? You just admitted you called in, and chose to lie, to trick them into thinking it was a warranty replacement and send it in for free just so you could save a few dollars on your $500 phone... wow.... what a new level of low.... congratulations to you... I guess my feeling is pitty?
And just for the record, THEY ARE NOT GIVING IT FOR FREE... if it is a factory deffect with yours, then you are entitled to a replacement/fix... it isnt that they are choosing some people, based on what you tell them, to get a free pair...
What happens is that because of ppl abusing the system (i.e. like you) these companies get fed up and make crappy obstacles that genuine users with genuine problems need to jump through in order to get genuine support...

His earbuds were BROKEN and they wouldn't replace them knowing he did it so he didn't have much of a choice but to tell them it was a factory defect...It's one thing if you truly broke them and it your just getting them to get them..
Frankly if the guy's willing to buy them but unable to, which is the case right now, I agree with his "white lie" approach. It's not like he's trying to get a second set as a backup or something... i.e. he's not abusing anything here.
like i said i did not go for the sleeve. i have my sleeve my earphone on the other hand broke. so i was gonna BUY a pair but the rep said they DONT sell them IDK why but if it was defective they will send out a pair.
i like the stock headphones. mine broke and i was looking to buy a pair.
how the hell did i abuse htc? coz i lied? i didnt mind paying for headphones but this is the only option to get the stock headphones. call htc and try to buy one they will tell you what they told me. they dont sell them right now. and there is no way of buying one. its not my fault if they are too slow with providing accessories for sale.
i was just sharing my experience with costumer support. and if you got the wrong ideas then you got problems buddy.

If you guys are trying to get free stuff out of HTC, please don't. They are in some hard times right now.
Called HTC a week ago asking if they were selling any factory oem batteries & sleeves yet... they took my IMEI number and said they'd get back to me...
Never heard from them but 5 days later a brand new factory oem battery and sleeve was sitting in my mailbox!
+1 for HTC customer service!
HTC is pretty cool, just called cause my sister wanted a sleeve for her phone. Asked if they were selling, the rep asked if I had lost it, told him nope. They still sent it out for free.
+1 HTC
just called up, said if i lost mine he could send a new one, told him i did, hes sending a new one.....he said if i needed to purchase another to call customer care, also asked about battery he said buy from google.com/phone
So yesterday I got my replacement G2X phone - I open the box and the only thing in the box is a return shipping label.
I swear I'm soooo sick of the crap I have put up with when dealing with T-Mobile.
Anyway I called t-mobile back and of course I had to talk to 3 different people - none of which spoke english well enough that I didn't have to say "what?" to every sentence they spoke. So now SUPPOSEDLY they're sending me another box (hopefully this time it will have a damn phone in it)....yet I get no confirmation email or anything - so I question if they really did or not.
I'm about to call back AGAIN and try to find out WTF is happening - if anyone here knows someone like a supervisor at T-Mobile PM me.
We have problems with UPS. There have been many accounts with the workers taking phones and resealing the box. If they are sending you another on then they are tracking the IMEI and you do not have it. Sorry you are having issues. I work there so if you need any help PM me.

Now that would piss me off. My luck would be "Sorry Mr Ickster we can't find any sign of it, you are SOL."
Wow ok so I guess its not all that uncommon. Geeze I sure as hell hope it doesn't take 3 weeks. Since I was at the 15th day they won't let me take it back to the store either - and I see the empty box looks like they were going to send me a refurbished phone - which I find 100% unacceptable as I bought a brand new phone 2 weeks ago for full price and it's defective. Next thing of course is I want my bill waved for however long it takes them to send me another one.
If they'd just of let me take it back to the store all this b.s. wouldn't of even happened. What a bunch of idiots considering they know they have a theft problem when doing it this way.
Hopefully it was the worst screen bleeder / rebooter ever.

UPS= Ur Package Stolen!
I hate when they ship packages with UPS. When it gets stolen (before a delivery attempt made to your address) guess who steals them? The employees. Its funny when you track a package online and it gets to a UPS distribution center near your city. Then it stays there for days and days and they can't find it. You call up Amazon for a replacement, and then the same thing. Package #2 is lost somewhere at a UPS distribution center. Third package comes Fedex and boom it gets delivered. I knew a guy that worked at UPS and he told me some stories. Fellow employees offering iPods, cameras, laptops for $50-$100. A few of them got caught up in a sting but there will always be new employees stealing. Best thing of all was UPS didn't seem to give a damn when I called them about two missing packages. The UPS employees know what is inside the packages. Laptops, cameras, ipods, phones, etc, they all know what's inside.

Certain packages are used to ensure delivery and confirm receipt. Its too bad people know this and you would see people putting packages in their car.
Packages that never left the warehouse on a truck.

They never should've sent you a replacement phone. The policy is if you are still in your buyer's remorse period then they have to re-order you a new phone if yours is defective. They only send out replacement phones if you are past your buyer's remorse period.
I had this happened to me last week when they sent me a refurb. I called back and talked to customer loyalty instead of customer service and she apologized and ordered me a brand new phone.
You should do the same. Do not settle for a refurb.

He has been my ups driver for 25 years. He would never do it, unless he was off that day and someone else took his place. Our front door is secure so if he happens to get in the hallway (someone leaving lets him in, or has a delivery in another apt in the building and someone lets him in) he will just leave it on the apartment door step. Even stuff that 100% needed to be signed for he will just leave in front of the door. Now if he cant get into the building and I'm not home he doesnt just leave it there. Only if he gets access into the building
this is what they have in tracking.. could they have been any more vague?

Where did you buy the phone from originally? If you buy the phone full price, you have a 30-day return period. 14 days is only when you buy the phone with contract.
If you bought the phone from the store, you should have been able to go there to exchange it for a new device. If you bought it online or over the phone, then yes, unfortunately you have to wait for another device to be shipped to you...and usually you have to send yours back first.
And you shouldn't have a problem getting credited for the amount of time you were without a phone.
Ok I got a freezing g2x monday as a new web online purchase. I then called this morning to get a exchange and they wanted to charge me and blah blah it was a hassle. Took two hours for them to finally agree to give me a new phone, not refurbished, no fees and overnight shipping. Except his boss was out and he needed him to sign off on it.
Well anyways, once before I had a replacement not get ordered so now I check my **** 5 hours later. Well, I called back and got this lovely rep, she didn't see the new order and I said, "well the gentleman that helped me before had to wait on his supervisor to sign off and maybe that's why you don't see it yet?" She then just kinda kept blabbing and said, "Well, ill make sure ones ordered right now so we know, Ill get you a confirmation number as well". I said "thanks".
Well I checked my emails about a half hour later for the confirmation email and there was 2 order numbers. One at 2:03 pm and another at 2:28. I figured well ****. I read before where this happened but forgot what they did. I also got ups tracking numbers for each one. So Im assuming 2 are on there way.
So if they send 2 what do I do? Well I was majorly jacked around today and have spent many many dollars to tmobile. LOL SO im thinking sounds fair. I mean how can they know and charge me? they both were free and say free on the order page, and they only need 1 device back right?
So im thinking about keeping them both, and selling one. I just got a photo radar ticket and could use the 300 bucks for that.. lmfaoooo
SO, I think If there's no way for them to tell, and I get two, (PRAY) and they only need one back. HOW CAN I GO WRONG?
WHAT WOULD YOU DO WWYD? lol
Yikes not this type of thread again. Massive debate
Sent from my GT-P1000 using Tapatalk
if it's in their system that they sent you 2 they'll know and will probably ask you eventually
Personally, I think its morally wrong, but if you're in desperate need of the money, say you only received one...
Sent from my LG-P999 using XDA App
If I knew there was no possible way they would know they sent me two than I would do what any working man in this type of economy would do. SELL ONE!
Chances are their system knows you have two so I would just call them and let them know. Or call and beat around the bush. Ask vague questions to see if they know you have two.
I know there is going to be some people on here calling ne immoral but o well. Unless you've never done anything wrong in your life than your just preaching to the choir.

If its not in their system that they sent two I'd keep it. No shame in my game.
I agree with the majority. Times are hard and T-Mobile screwed us over with the G2x by offering most of us a myTouch 4g or a G2 as a replacement. Do what you gotta do!
Sent from my LG-P999 using XDA Premium App
Ok so why would they check my system? And just look for a issue?
I don't see them finding out even with it in the system.... cause what's that mean? Ok in there system? How do they go, oh woops we accidently sent him two. Hell they barely know anything ....
Even if in system how will it get back to me when they get a original back...?
Tmobile.com doesnt even show any order placed... They did it directly through the loyalty department and telesales...
If they get there phone back and there not charging for either, why would they hassle me?
I get there system could show they sent me two, but if they don't catch it now, why would they later? And why would they just search my account going huh? Lol especially if I lay low and not call em...
I'm gonna take my chances and play dumb if they find out... not my fault, hell maybe they told me they were sending me a free one for my troubles? Lol
EDIT: Hell if anything ill just hold onto it for a bit and see if they catch it within a couple weeks. If not, I should be good. If so, Ill just send back.
MEH, I think if this is their fubar. I just play stupid. HUH, I have 2 lines with g2xs, I thought they were sending 2. lol
also, wouldnt it be better their both in their system? instead of 1 not being in it? cause then that phone disappears and now its got to be tracked and theres a signature? Where as this way, its accounted for, and not missing. Its delivered?
I dont know. I think Im gonna hang onto it for about a month and see what they do. I just dont see how they can make 2 orders send them, get the phone back they wanted and still catch it. If 2 was just sent with only 1 order, that IMO sounds worse.
Like Jw had happen, Tmobile told him to keep his G2x when he got a sensation also. Maybe they sent me 2 for my troubles hell. Like I said, maybe I said I even called and they told me dont worry about it and just keep it. Now im being charged?
Tmobile and their notes are so all over the place I think I could even get out of it If I needed too.
WHO knows.
IF both phones are on a separate order, and both are delivered, and the defective one gets back. Wheres there a issue to them? like I said they dont know what a rep did for me. The last rep could have hooked me up. Like they did JW
If you got tracking numbers for both, they will know for sure you received two. Not worth the risk of you selling it only to have tmobile suddenly slap an over 200 bill in your account.

again. how would they even go about finding out? both phones are sent, delivered. Paid. Dont see how they could charge me later.
My point is, ok, they see 2 orders. Now what? and who sees it? Is there a person just randomly looking at accounts for weirdness?
I just dont see the scenario where they all the sudden just randomly audit my account and go hmmmm . Why are there 2 phones sent.
BOTH PAID, sent, Delivered. Now bam its just notes in the past now. They get the phone back they wanted. HOW CAN THEY TELL? ya the notes or online will show 2 phones sent, but again, bills and etc are computer automated generated. So if it shows no charges. HOW CAN I BE BILLED?
I can see if I paid 249 for one. Got sent two and was like ****. the paperwork also says 249. THEY BOTH Say PAID.
SCENARIO: rep just randomly looks, sees 2 phones, and just sends me a bill? The phone is out of their hands.
If two have been sent separately then each is going to have its own RMA number. If that RMA number is not scanned in by T-Mobile's receiving department then in all likelihood your account will be hit with an unreturned item fee.
So in order to avoid a lot of unnecessary hassle with your account you need to call them and tell them what happened. They will then tell you to either refuse one or which package to use for your original phone and which one to use for the extra.
Ideally it'd be nice to receive both and test each to see which is the least problematic (I just don't have faith that any G2X is actually fully reliable) and then return the buggiest. However you only have a one week before they'll tack on that unreturned item fee, and while I'm sure they'll refund it once they get the phone, it's just more work for you.

Im just trying to find all loop holes. WHO IS THEY? the computer? Or Reps? cause if I didnt call for say 2 months, then what? who sees it? There both paid, not cost anything. WHO SEES IT?

No I dont think thats true. Cause the phone Im replacing now, which was brand new, came with a RA number/sticker and I didnt have to send anything back. So, if they didnt get anything back but sent a RA number, why didnt they charge me?
Also the new phones are coming just like this. NEW, not exchanges. So, just like this one I have now, With the RA number, Ill keep one, just set it aside for a bit and see what happens, and then the other one ill send my replacement back.
I see what your getting at with the RA number but again, my new device had one also and it needed no return. So I dont think the new package would be treated any different.
EDIT: so, again ill cover my tail. Not open the box just hold onto it. Then if charged or issues Ill just return it. They will credit my account back. Ill just say I forgot about it, been very busy and should have returned it. Give it till next billing cycle and if Im in the clear. Do what I need with it. You would think that if they will find out after the fact. They would have found out before they were sent. I mean, same time within 20 mins of each other, they couldnt figure that out, but yet they will figure out after the fact? MEH call me a believer but I think Im golden.
I wish i could get sent 2 that way i could hold up the wobbly legs of my table on both sides.

After I received my replacement I sat on it a few days before doing anything with it and waited 6 days before returning the original and then 1 week to the day from which I received it I got a text from T-Mobile kindly reminding me to return it. No charge was put on my account as they received it that day or the next.
Just because there was an RMA sticker with your first doesn't mean anything. In the fulfillment department they would probably scan the box they are shipping you and enter it as a new or replacement device. If it's a replacement then there is a timed event placed in their database set up to activate on the RMA sticker that is being sent to you. If it is not scanned within a certain period you'll be charged.
This is an automated event. No one is sitting around looking at people's accounts to determine if something is expected from them.
You can play dumb and try and pretend that you didn't receive it, although I received e-mails from them telling me my phone had been delivered, so they are tracking it. You'll know within 1-2 weeks whether or not they are expecting two phones returned from you. If you try to rip off T-Mobile just wait before doing anything with the spare phone.

Ok, now that makes some sense.
Yea, sounds like maybe they could know in that mannor, but, will see. Hopefully they are sent as new devices and not a replacement. Ill do my research up till then and see whats up. Ill definitely See whats up but your post made good sense. THis is why I made the thread. To see which actually happens..
EDIT: the way they had to do the exchange/new phone was like just having a new order. Not replacement. cause of some loop hole. So maybe since the had to do it that way they wont have the replacement RA number. WHO knows. LOL
but interesting and Im gonna play a lil
also, i just remembered that I before have gotten order placed/ replacement placed texts also. Ive yet to receive these. I think because were going around the usual way to get me the phone. So I dont know. cause even online under recent order info on MYTMOBILE.COM it doesnt show any orders placed either. VERY strange.
even when I call 611 it doesnt have any info on orders. It just says my old order that was already shipped that im replacing. GONNA KEEP A EYE ON THAT. I think the way they had to loop around may help
If you are a thief, you are a thief. If you are a honest good person, you are a honest good person. This should not be a difficult decision.
If I can screw you out of a few hundred bucks, should I? Based on many responses I should rip you off for all I can.
Give them 60-90 days from when they shipped you the phones. after that, they don't have a leg to stand on. (this is of course unless they contact you about it prior to 90 days)

lol I love your response. HEHE Make me sound like a theif and if I do this im no good. LMFAOOO. that said. Im doing it. Hmmmm I think like this. Ive spent hours of time fighting just for a replacement. Bought a g2x full price, vibrant full price, sensation for 300 and had it replaced like crazy in which they also forgot once to send a replacement so I waited a week for nothing. Pay 160 a month. Blah blah. So in a year ive spentttt?
about 1300 on phones alone. 160x12= 1,920 dollars. Waiting for mad time for replacements cause they put out crap (sensation) and half the lgs lol. SOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO
Im gonna play a lil
ALSO, IF I screwed you over half the time, overcharged you, throttled you for what your paying for, had service shotty, rude customer service, forgot some orders, charged you fees etc. Then yes, BY ALL MEANS PLEASE IF I DROP MY WALLET, take that ***** I deserve it

He was asking $375 but said it was negotiable because it didn't include anything but the phone. Would it be recommended to use any micro usb charger or is there one specifically built for this phone?

Why not box or charger? Because it's probably stolen.

if you buy new device (high end) you will defon keep the box... maybe the charger can kinda get lost (in work, school, or something) but defo not the box... and the price he is sellling it at is not a "steal"... so save few more bucks bro and get your hands on brand new boxed nexie.
take care...
My friend just bought a Black 32GB just the phone and cable, no box or charger, for 300$ of CL here in the Seattle area, he just made sure he checked the IMEI using Swappa.com (they have a free IMEI/ESN checker, be careful with other sites that claim to check IMEI/ESN's for you, cause some of those are just phishing for these numbers, and once you put them in, they will tell you its ok, but then copy the number themselves and use it for cloning devices, or for changing the IMEI on a blacklisted phone, to the white-listed IMEI you gave them. Also once you use a legit IMEI checker, call your service provider and tell them you are purchasing this right now and have the dude talk to them to verify this, you could also call whatever provider he was using, if any, so that way there's record of him selling. or you could just meet at one of your service providers stores. If they aren't willing to do that, and are absolutely set on not meeting there, then yea, somethings up. But I would at least try the approach I suggested cause you may end up getting a very good deal, and if not, then you didn't lose anything cause you took steps to ensure your protection, so no harm no foul.
AND NEVER GO ALONE ! Guy or Girl. I am 27, 6'3", ex-military, and a Guitarist who is well known in the local scene so most people in the area know me, but I still don't do CL deals by myself. I even have my CHL and carry either a Glock 19 Gen 2, or a FNH FNP Tactical .45 (not always, but sometimes, I am an opencarry adovacate, but i wont get into that here lol), and still dont go alone, can't stress that one enough. a dear friend of mine was raped in Tacoma, WA while trying to buy a crib for her daughter and i wish everyday that she woulda called me or one of our friends to go with...
The final bit of advice I can give, is trust your gut. Sounds cliche, but its true. If you feel like somethings off, it prolly is, and even if it isn't, is your life, or overall well-being, worth getting less then 100$ off on a phone, ya dig.
Not sure I agree with the people who say if you don't have a box, its probably stolen. I sold a phone without a box because when I bought it, the person at the t-mobile store told me that I would get a $10 bill credit if I let them recycle the box. Sounded sketchy to me, but I did actually get the credit.
And running the IMEI through swaapa just proves that it hasn't been marked as stolen YET. The seller could stop paying payments (if they have tmo) and the IMEI gets blacklisted then.

No go people. It's not about being stolen, I've had my phone stolen before and I needed to send my box and service agreement into Asurion. It could be that he has the box and may sell it but then report it stolen after the fact. I've done business on craigslist plenty of times and actually learned this the hard way about a year ago when I bought a Nexus 4 blacklisted from T-Mobile about 3 days after I bought it and was working. Always get the box with the IMEI sticker still attached when buying phones on craigslist, in most cases your better off than not.

Well what can I say, a complete farce from start to finish.
From pre ordering to the numerous phone calls and emails to cancel my order and then to try and return my phone for a full refund.
In the end I had to get the police, Santander bank and trading standards involved to get my money back.
I had to wait 3 weeks for my order to ship to me in which time they wouldn't cancel my order even though the phone wasn't built or shipped.
They then said they would send out a pre paid label for me to return the phone, 6 times I had to request this and they never sent the labels while the 14 day returns time scale ran out due to this! I rang DHL and they told me no request was ever made for a returns label!
This left me with no option but to contact the police ,my bank and trading standards, all of whom were brilliant and helped me out :good:, my bank did a charge bank and refunded me my money back. All emails that I sent and received was shown to the above and once Motorola found out I had contacted the above they refused to respond to me anymore
I now have a brand new and sealed moto x style sat on my shelf , I have my money back and I have done all I can to return the phone, I don't know what to do with the phone now?
This was my 1st experience with Motorola, I have read similar experiences , and no doubt that there are lots of happy customers. How can they treat customers like this.
Motorolas loss was Nexus 6p gain
Interesting, I got my return label in about an hour because I requested it online. No phone call was needed. I didn't send my phone back but I could. From what I have read that is the way to do this, go online, submit a return within a few hours you will have an email with the label, end of the issue. I think you will eventually have to send it back or more legal issues may occur.
Seems to me that the phone support is poor so just don't go through them
I wasn't aware you could request online, but I had numerous emails and phone calls asking for a returns label that should have been noted.
Yes i have the kept the phone in safe keeping until they ask for it back!
Did you check your junk mail folder? After 6 requests I feel like they would have sent at least one label.

doesn't matter at this point. Within the 14 days you can use the device as a daily driver so to them it doesn't matter. If I were you I would play with it. Just don't break it lol
Man, I feel for ya. I hate seeing stories like this. A horrible customer service experience can completely ruin what would otherwise be a nice device experience. Glad you got your money back in any case.
Have you considered giving the device another shot since you now have it? You'd have to send the money back again, but you wouldn't have to wait on shipping.
What made you not want the phone in the first place? Delays in shipping?

If it were me, I'd leave it sealed for 90 days at least. If at that point there is no dispute to the charge back from the bank, no contact from Motorola, etc, you should be safe to say you have a free phone. Keep in mind, just because you got your money back doesn't mean Motorola isn't disputing it on their end. And the bank could at any moment take that money back. If it comes to that, you could need to provide a sealed box device. If you can't, you could be out of luck.
Right now you have a free phone. If you sit on it for a few months, and nothing more comes of it, you still have a free phone.

You know, reading this post just made me decide to go ahead and unlock my device (that I've had for a week) for rooting/moding. I was on the fence because if I unlocked it I would have lost my warranty. But knowing I will never have to deal with Moto Customer Service is a good thing. I won't wanna lose my phone for weeks if something goes wrong anyway, so I'll be better with my local repair shop.
My previous phone, Galaxy S4, developed the dreaded swollen battery. And they wanted me to send it back for a replacement, instead of just sending me a battery. So that makes me not want to deal with customer service at all.
Sorry to hear about your experience. though.

Motorola contracts FedEx for the return. Not DHL. You went the wrong route.
Also, make sure your Motorola account has the correct email address. I used Google Plus login when I created the Motorola account and it showed some weird email address when I check my Motorola profile. I had to go in there and updated to the correct email address.
You will want to send the phone back. Contact any FedEx retail location, give them your address and they may have your label on file. If you decide to keep the phone, Motorola might bill you for it. If you don't pay, they will send you to collection. Good luck.
