Touchscreen not responding - Eee Pad Transformer Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hi!
I have my transformer for 2 days now. everything worked fine until now: I woke up today, wanted to use my transformer, but the touchscreen does not respond anymore. I turned the Transformer off/on multiple times but it didnt help. then i updated to 3.1, didnt help neither.
The dock is still working and the screen (android) responds to turning of the tablet.
does anyone else have such a problem? how can I fix it? It's really annoying and I dont want to do a hard reset.

Had the same issue. Finally returned it and now seek a replacement.

I had this issue. I had to drain the battery all the way down to 0% then charge it back up. Now everything is working perfect.

I had unresponsive touchscreen several times when I had a few drops of water on it. I wiped it extensively several times and it worked again.

I'll give it a try, hope it will help.

Fully draining the battery helped, thanks a lot! I hope it will last...

I had the same issue once... I undocked the TF and turned it off by long pressing the power button..left it alone for 10 min and turned it on...the touch screen magically works again..
haven't happened since 3.1 update though..

Any solution for this annoying issue? My asus, by the way, brand new just lost touchscreen.. damn!
Please, anyone got to figure why it is happen or a solution?

[Q] No sound after long sleep

Happened a couple of times, if I put the down for a hour or so then start to use it again then sometimes it wakes with no sound and I have to reboot it to get sound working anyone else had this

I've noticed that as well.
When i got my device it was actually in sleep mode - wasn't shut down.
When it first woke up - i had no sound. a Reboot fixed it.. didn't really get the chance to play with it much since (just happened yesterday).
Mine does that too

I have also experienced this a few times.
I've had this happen once. I have a long list of problems I've encountered. Now that my touchscreen is totally dead and no amount of rebooting will fix it, I'm convinced I have a lemon.
Any solution for this? I just got my tablet and it everytime I have wanted to play sound, I had to reboot. The reboot process is slow, I don't want to do this every time I want a bit of sound.
I've run into this myself after applying the latest patch. Thus far it's the biggest issue I have, and it's certainly an irksome one.
Yet more great service from asus had a pm about this problem going to provide some thing to log it as they cant produce this fault proves theyvare listening

I have this problem as well. No sound after long sleep. Reboot would fix it. This happened after latest update.
Occasionally I have the no sound after sleep but a reboot fixes it.
Just another data point.
im in the uk and i have noticed that since the update yesterday this problem seems to have stopped, i know ASUS haven't worked on it as i have been discussing it with them via PM, is anyone else who updated yesterday finding this problem seems to have gone away

Another case: sometimes no sound after long (over 1 hour) sleep.
I seem to have this issue as well. +1 for a fix.
Sorry for the double post, but I thought it was worth it to say I have not been having this problem since the upgrade to 3.1. I will post back if the issue reoccurs.
Sadly, I have this issue, losing sound after long sleep. Seems to me that the only way to restore sound is by a shutdown/restart. Seems like Asus/Google can't get it fixed. I'm on ICS, Android 4.0.3, build 9.2.1.24.
If sound ever cuts out on me (It hardly ever does) Usually a mute and unmute, then a force close of the system vol control fixes it.

[Q] Am I the only one experiencing this?

Hi guys I have had my transformer for almost a year now and since the first time I opened it, I am experiencing my tf101's touch screen not responding. Sometimes even if I'm not pressing anything, my transformer would act as if there are multiple touches on the screen? I would have to turn the screen off and back on I'm just curious if everyone is experiencing this, or should I have my tf101 serviced.
I don't know if it's hardware or software, if you havn't factory reset in a long time you could try that. If that doesn't fix then you may have to get serviced.. Never had a problem with my screen. (but I wipe almost every week and flash roms/kernels constantly xP)
Have you tried this? Hope it helps.

Big Touchscreen Problem

Hey Guys, i just recieved my TF300T , but i have a problem with it...
I cant use the Touchscreen it just does what it wants. If i have opened the Onscreen Keyboard it sometimes just "presses" random letters even if my Hand isn't nearly the screen. Is there anyway to fix it ? I already reseted it but it didnt work.
I hope you can understand what i mean...Im from Germany so my English isnt that good
I have bought the same device last month and i know what you mean.
Sometimes the touchsreen keyboard woks without problems and sometimes go got the letter more than onetimes and when you delete it you delete more letters. Really strange problem.
I realize that the keyboard reacts some milimeters over the touchscreen it reacts very sensitive i do not know if this is a software or a hardware bug.
If you turn the display more times of and one it works again normal.
Have you found a solution for the problem.
I have on my device Asus TF300T with 16GB, CM 10 installed from the begining because i would like to have root an my device.
any ideas?
Is the tablet brand new and behaving this way? If so, try to get the tablet to fully update to the latest version. Once updated, do another factory reset for good measure. If you are still having these touch issues, I would contact the reseller as you might have a defective digitizer.

Ive had the tf300t for about 6 months now and mine has been doing it since day one.I even brought one back to store and got a new one and it still did it.I just turn screen off and back on and it works fine.I am rooted and have custom rom and it has done it with every rom i had on here.Ive tried reset, factory reset, and wipe everything and start over and it still does it.It doesnt happen that much so im kinda use to it now.My advice is to just turn screen off and back on.
Turning "Show touches" on in the developer options might help

Hi,
I get the same problem with my TF700T. The screen wont respond to touch, sometimes I have to reboot the tablet twice for it to work properly. But after awhile it will go back to the same thing ...not responding to touch properly.
I have done a hard reset but is still giving me the same problem. Is there anything I can do?
Any help would be much appreciated.
Cheers.
Send it back to Asus you have a hard ware issue.

If it is still under warranty, I would send it in for servicing. If there is no physical to the screen, we can certainly take care of it for you. Not 100% sure, but it sounds like the digitizer when out.

[Q] Keyboard dock problems

Hey guys
I pulled my TF300 out of the box, let it run through updating everything it wanted to update then after rebooting the keyboard dock refuses to work. The power is still there, showing up on the battery monitor and charging the tablet, and it's showing up as being connected, plus the USB port is fine, but there's no response from pressing any keyboard buttons or poking the mouse pad. Before the tablet updated to 4.2 (from whatever it came in the box with) it worked fine since I put in my gmail stuff with it, but now nothing.
I've tried reboots and reconnects and everything basic I can think of. Nothing wants to do anything.
There's so many threads about these problems, but no-one seems to actually have an answer for it, other than just poke and hope something works.
Anyone have an idea what I should do?

This is just a hypothesis, but it's worth the shot.
When you updated the tablet, was the dock connected?
If not, the dock firmware might out dated for your tablets firmware version. I presume that's why on the update notice it advises you to connect your dock; to keep the dock compatible to prevent other users may end up in a situation like yours. Have you tried flashing the latest official rom via fastboot with the Tablet connected? You never know, it might be the solution.
Hope this helped.

So did you have any success? The problem might of been caused by the upgrade of the 4.1 bootloader to the 4.2 one whilst not having your dock attached.
