Hey guys
I pulled my TF300 out of the box, let it run through updating everything it wanted to update then after rebooting the keyboard dock refuses to work. The power is still there, showing up on the battery monitor and charging the tablet, and it's showing up as being connected, plus the USB port is fine, but there's no response from pressing any keyboard buttons or poking the mouse pad. Before the tablet updated to 4.2 (from whatever it came in the box with) it worked fine since I put in my gmail stuff with it, but now nothing.
I've tried reboots and reconnects and everything basic I can think of. Nothing wants to do anything.
There's so many threads about these problems, but no-one seems to actually have an answer for it, other than just poke and hope something works.
Anyone have an idea what I should do?

This is just a hypothesis, but it's worth the shot.
When you updated the tablet, was the dock connected?
If not, the dock firmware might out dated for your tablets firmware version. I presume that's why on the update notice it advises you to connect your dock; to keep the dock compatible to prevent other users may end up in a situation like yours. Have you tried flashing the latest official rom via fastboot with the Tablet connected? You never know, it might be the solution.
Hope this helped.

Weird I never had my dock connected when updating, never had any issues!

So did you have any success? The problem might of been caused by the upgrade of the 4.1 bootloader to the 4.2 one whilst not having your dock attached.

Hi!
I have my transformer for 2 days now. everything worked fine until now: I woke up today, wanted to use my transformer, but the touchscreen does not respond anymore. I turned the Transformer off/on multiple times but it didnt help. then i updated to 3.1, didnt help neither.
The dock is still working and the screen (android) responds to turning of the tablet.
does anyone else have such a problem? how can I fix it? It's really annoying and I dont want to do a hard reset.

Had the same issue. Finally returned it and now seek a replacement.
I had this issue. I had to drain the battery all the way down to 0% then charge it back up. Now everything is working perfect.

I had unresponsive touchscreen several times when I had a few drops of water on it. I wiped it extensively several times and it worked again.

I'll give it a try, hope it will help.
Fully draining the battery helped, thanks a lot! I hope it will last...
I had the same issue once... I undocked the TF and turned it off by long pressing the power button..left it alone for 10 min and turned it on...the touch screen magically works again..
haven't happened since 3.1 update though..
Any solution for this annoying issue? My asus, by the way, brand new just lost touchscreen.. damn!
Please, anyone got to figure why it is happen or a solution?

Hello Everyone,
Being the proud owner of a transformer (B80, only downside to it really) I love its usb functionality. One recent problem however, it only sees (as in elicits any response) if I reboot with the usb inside, or plug it in short after reboot.
It worked before, and I already tried a full reset (still recovering all my non market apps and docs). Is there anyway to update/repair drivers that might fix it? Maybe reinstall honeycomb all together (if thats even possible)?
I tried searching for a solution, but both google and xda turned up nothing (though that might be due to my searching, 'usb not working' contains so many generic terms...).
Any help would be sosososososo massively appreciated, I really like using usb's and am not fond of reboots.
Thanks in advance,
Mentor
What do you plug in into the USB?
its already known problem
Its began after 3.2.1 HC patch, if you can install 3.2 HC rom, it will work again, otherwise its required full restart.... or couple of restarts......asus is aware to that problem....
Aah, that settles that then... Any idea about when a fixing patch comes out?
@Dave a regular usb (different types).
Thank you both for your responses
The newest firmware update that started rolling out yesterday fixes this problem.
I have same problem
what update! when will it come to uk.

Well if you connect a scanner or printer of course it won't work.
Hello Everyone,
I'm sorry for creating another thread related to bricked TF201 but it seems like almost every thread I've read was a little bit different and many of them people were able to get into fastboot or they had one of the 4 different "bricks" (mine is not one of them)
A little back-story: I've had my Transformer Prime for a little over a year now and I never had any issues with it and I never tried rooting/unlocking it. Last night, I decided to do it so I unlocked the bootloader using ASUS official way and then rooted it successfully. Rebooted a few times to make sure all is well and then for some readon I download this app called "Transformer reboot to Recovery" (which is the cause of this whole thing) which I used to reboot and that was the last time I was able to use the tablet =/
Now, the only thing that happens when I boot it up or press Volume down + power button is I get to the ASUS boot screen and it just hangs there. In the upper right corer it says "The Device is UnLocked" - in the middle "ASUS Inspiring Innovation - Persistent Perfection" and "POWERED BY NVIDIA TEGRA" on the bottom. When I try to turn it off it's not working (I have to wait for battery to die to turn it off) and when I hold Volume Up + Power it seems like the screen turns off (but from what I read the tablet is still on).
I tried plugging it into my PC but it is not recognizing it, and I tried everything to get it into CWM or fastboot but nothing seems to be working. I am pretty sure that I am screwed and this is probably one of the worst kinds of bricks (it's not even mentioned in the sticky thread on how to unbrick Transformer Prime) and unfortunately I am beginning to accept this sad faith hah.
If anyone experienced the same scenario and was able to resolve it or wants to share their solution to similar problem I would really appreciate it. It's too bad that this happened but I guess I knew the risks and am the only one to blame, so probably the only remaining thing I can do is sell my keyboard dock and put the tablet somewhere on the wall and use it as a mirror or something lol.
Once again, sorry for adding another one of these thread, and thanks for any kind of advice in advance.

It just happened now while it is charging. The tab works fine when it is not docked, a bit laggy but that's to be expected with our aged tablets. Although, when it is docked, it just freezes. I can take it out again and the tab works again, put it in and it won't, take it out and it will. When docked, nothing works and if I press the power button, it will just go black and I'd have to restart it again, undocked. Any help please? Running an aged version of CROMI with TWRP, but that doesn't seem to be part of the problem but it might help. Thanks!
Bringing this back alive, hoping for someone to help :crying:

It's the holidays which means helping to fix others' devices.
I've got a family member's TF300T that gets to the ASUS boot screen but just spins forever. The bootloader hasn't been unlocked and I think it's on JB but I don't have any way to tell which version of the stock ROM it is. I've spent the last hour reading through posts on multiple forums but haven't found anything that works.
I've tried accessing recovery by holding vol down but no luck. It just hits that boot screen and spins. I've installed the standalone drivers as well as the ASUS Sync utility but I can't get adb to see the device. I know the keyboard dock has some problems and doesn't work 100%, but I think the USB port is okay because the owner uses a mouse on it. There's an amber light next to the charging port that is blinking. I'm not really familiar with this device so I tried connecting my Win 10 machine (a T100 coincidentally) with a regular microUSB to that and with the charging cable but neither worked.
Is there something I might be missing or anything else I should be trying with this device?

You said you held vol down. Hold vol down and power button together from off state. Maybe that's what your doing though. That should take you to boot loader.

There's a thread about 3 down from yours, see if that helps. Appears the issue is more common than I thought. It's by mgs333

I've read that one and a dozen others. Unfortunately unlike just about everyone else who has had it get stuck, I can't get access to anything that'll let me wipe, flash, or really do anything so I'm sort of dead in the water until I can.
I'm familiar enough with Android that I'm pretty confident in getting it working when I do, but until then I'm a bit lost.

Thanks. I'll look into it some more.
I glanced over it briefly in my earlier research but it seemed like it might not work in my situation.
I got it. This thing has been used in a pretty dusty work environment and I cleaned it up. I think the volume down button was being prevented from working. After cleaning I got right into the bootloader and wiped it. After that it started right up.
rileysmith how you do it?
