Big Touchscreen Problem - Transformer TF300T Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hey Guys, i just recieved my TF300T , but i have a problem with it...
I cant use the Touchscreen it just does what it wants. If i have opened the Onscreen Keyboard it sometimes just "presses" random letters even if my Hand isn't nearly the screen. Is there anyway to fix it ? I already reseted it but it didnt work.
I hope you can understand what i mean...Im from Germany so my English isnt that good

I have bought the same device last month and i know what you mean.
Sometimes the touchsreen keyboard woks without problems and sometimes go got the letter more than onetimes and when you delete it you delete more letters. Really strange problem.
I realize that the keyboard reacts some milimeters over the touchscreen it reacts very sensitive i do not know if this is a software or a hardware bug.
If you turn the display more times of and one it works again normal.
Have you found a solution for the problem.
I have on my device Asus TF300T with 16GB, CM 10 installed from the begining because i would like to have root an my device.
any ideas?

Is the tablet brand new and behaving this way? If so, try to get the tablet to fully update to the latest version. Once updated, do another factory reset for good measure. If you are still having these touch issues, I would contact the reseller as you might have a defective digitizer.

Ive had the tf300t for about 6 months now and mine has been doing it since day one.I even brought one back to store and got a new one and it still did it.I just turn screen off and back on and it works fine.I am rooted and have custom rom and it has done it with every rom i had on here.Ive tried reset, factory reset, and wipe everything and start over and it still does it.It doesnt happen that much so im kinda use to it now.My advice is to just turn screen off and back on.

Turning "Show touches" on in the developer options might help

[help] fuze/raphael HW keyboard delay, not responding and tend to die by turning off

Hello everyone, i have been very happy with my HTC Fuze since i started to face Hardware Keyboard issues.
I did make a clean Rom installation, from Da_G rom (experimented same problem with NATFv3,2 4,0 Roms)
some times the keyboard take a big delay before start typing, but other times keyboard turns completely unusable without responding at all, not iven key lights. Then i have to soft reset in order to get the keyboard back. Other times keyboard reppppppppppppppppppppet llllllllllllllllletters likkkkkkkkkkkkke ttttttttttttttthis.
I have searched the forum trying to find the solution without luck, please if anyone can point me in the right direction i would be very great fully.
I apologize for my bad English, and please don't get angry at me by saying use search, cus i had.
Thanks in advance.
i have tried all fixes i have found in this forum
-up/down repeat rate
-disabling t9
-adjusting wifi to middle
-RR Keyboard Speed Increase.cab
none of this had helped me to solve the problem, keyboard still tend to die not iven with wifi enabled
i wanna cry!
i have the same problem too. I dont know what it is or how to solve it i just soft reset.

hope somebody could help us up, this is becoming really annoying for me at the point of selling my fuze if there is no possible solution. hope there is cus i really like this device.
I had the same problem with my keyboard, I only had the phone for about 5 or 6 days and it was doing it since day one with stock everything (before I even bothered playing with it by flashing roms or skipping at&t software installation).
For me it got so bad that when I was using it at school, the keyboard stopped working about 4 times in 10 minutes, and I would have to restart it to get it back working. Sometimes that even wouldn't work.
I ended up flashing back the original rom and SPL and exchanging it for another fuze.
The new fuze I have is working perfectly. The keyboard backlight looks a little uneven, but apart from the rare keyboard lag sometimes, the keyboard works 100% normal.

Thanks for your Reply, im glad to read you solved you issues with the Keyboard.
Anyway i hope there is something out there like a hotfix or reghack for this issue, i bought my Fuze at Ebay so i cannot ask for another one.
Im just wondering if this is real a Hardware Issue or soft/driver?? Since it can work again after Reset.
I Hope somebody come with a solution, i don't see any thread complaining about these issue, i thought it was a common one.
PLEASE SOMEBODY HOOK ME UP WITH AN ANSWER IF YOU KNOW IT.
i get that some times too, no choice but to reset in those circumstances
i did note that stuff like that tend to happen when i'm using opera in landscape mode

First, please don't yell -- impatience will not get you an answer more quickly. Also, I know you're probably tired of hearing this, but searching really does work. For example, searching for "keyboard lag" would have led you to this, which should help with your problem: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=436795

Thanks you very much. I didn't meant to yell by the Caps, sorry for that. I also did search for those words with no satisfactory answer.
I will try these fixes and let everybody in this thread to know.
Thanks again!

Yes! It only happened when I was using opera in landscape mode.
I'm going to need to clarify my original statement, I'm not sure if the keyboard stopped working with the stock ROM and software. When I reflashed it and was trying to show the at&t guy that it was locking up in opera, it never happened, I used it for probably 15 minutes. The customer rep was a nice guy though and just let me exchange it for another one.
So I'm not exactly sure what the cause is, but my new fuze doesn't have the problem (thankfully).
i mean if we can not really get an answer maybe someone can just figure out how to restart the keyboard drivers or something instead of having to soft reset the entire phone we can just reset the keyboard that could be a plausible alternative.
look at this: http://www.fuzemobility.com/?p=887 and also go to settingd - buttons - up/down control and increase the delay rate then reduce the repeat rate
i have tried that before and it did not seem to help.

I tried something i read in other thread related to this. It seems the problems it's the WiFi, you have to set the WiFi to middle power, neither Best Performance or Best Battery. Apparently my keyboard is working fine so far since i did this. Hope im right.
PD: what does the keyboard has to do with the Wifi, I don't know.

Onscreen keyboard doesn't work

It doesn't really matter what keyboard I use..whether I use regular touch input, the swipe keyboard, or the gingerbread keyboard I installed...once out of every 6-7 times I use the keyboard...it doesnt type at all...
this problems occured even before I was rooted...what could be causing this?

Faulty touch screen is my guess. Try a full wipe and flash a new ROM. If problem persists call tmob and get an exchange asap
I wouldn't even mess around with rigging it to work, if the touch screen doesn't work, and it is an all touch screen phone...thats kind of a big deal, should get it swapped out asap...
Same prob, doesnt happen as often though. How can it be a bad touch screen if every other touch function works?

[Q] Keyboard and screen problems on Motorola Milestone XT720

Hi guys,
I'm using Motorola Milestone XT720 as stated in the title, and it is running on Dexter 2.2 Froyo.
About a month or so ago, my phone keyboard had been giving me problems, the letter 'Q' and '1' on the keyboard are no longer working. Then recently about 3weeks ago, the whole row including of 'Q','W','E','R','T','Y','U','I','O','P' is not working as normal. Now the column of 'Q' is not working as normal. Maybe i should say the screen. But by giving the phone a little knock on the screen it will allow me to type properly for awhile but the problem will return after awhile.
I read up on posts and some say it is the software problems.
What could be the cause? Is there any solution to it? Can you guys help me out please! Thanks in advance.

There is a post in here for a new digitizer replacement, not sure if that would fix it, but not if it is a software issue. what kind of warranty do you have? my provider gives us 2 years. I'm not qualified to answer your question just my 2 cents. Good luck bud.

Try using a different keyboard and if qwerty isn't working with a different keyboard, it is probably a hardware issue. My guess is that the touch screen isn't calibrated. A different kb will tell you if it is hardware or software.
sounds like a hardware problem... why dont you email the service center and ask how much it costs to replace the screen, and then go for it if the price is reasonable? my phone's still under warranty and the guys at the service centre are quite good. went there to fix my lcd and they even helped me replace some other stuff like the metal frame and the digitizer...
I dropped my phone for the second time and now bottom touch sensitive keys aren't working. When I press those keys it registers input as bottom part of touch screen. I can't go back, press menu key or home key. Anyone knows how to solve this problem?
I have exactly the same problem.
It seems that display is ok but i cant type letters like:
t, y, f, g, h, c, v, b.
Also, it's similar area when i want to hang up, i can't press red button. However, other applications it seems to work ok.
Did you tried to put phone keyboard in landscape and have you same letters that doesn't work ?
You can download android system info from market and use multitouch test. With one finger you move in all screen area and you see if the circle is on all area. That will tell you if it's hardware or software.

If you have same area not working with keyboard in landscape and with android system info app it's may be hardware related.
You can try to flash back stock sbf to see if it's the same, with a nandroid backup you can restore all after and if you send your phone into warranty you have to flash back your stock sbf.

Screen problem

Hi,
I bought my sensation three days ago. It was unrooted, the same night I made S-OFF and Root on it. I installed elegancia wiht sense 4. For two days no problem. Yesterday the screen became unmanageable. I activated "Shows touches" (in italian is "Mostra tocchi", I don't know in English) and a lot of touches appeared on the screen, most of all in a line in the right of the screen. Moreover the last line on the right didn't work. After 10 minutes the issue solved itself. Tonight is the same. I noticed the problem is worse while the phone is in charge. But the first time it wasn't in charge, I was surfing the web. I tried installing another rom but it's the same. I don't understand if it's an hardware or a software problem. What can I do?
There's a video in which I hope you can understand my problem. Thanks and sorry for my english.
EDIT: Now I've solved the problem during the charge. The only problem now is the strip on the right of the screen on which the touch doesn't work. Is there someone with the same problem? Is there a way to solve this problem? Thanks.

Whenever unable to solve a problem, in my experience, a installation from scratch almost always seems to fix it.

Best bet I know of is to reflash firmware as discussed at length in this thread. I can't guarantee the result, but if you're game, I've done it to correct erratic responsiveness. To give you an example, I replaced the touch screen only to find out I couldn't move the icons from the main screen to where I wanted them to be. They'd just slip as I dragged them. I reflashed the firmware, then tried a few roms. Paranoid solved it. From then on, no more errors no matter what. Good luck.
I had my tab rma'd and techs left a tf300 touch tool on my tab that looks like a screen calibrater. Pm me if you want to try it
