So it seems that the Bluetooth skips when the screen turns off. If the screen is on the music streams just fine. Do any of the roms fix this issue? I have used EaglesBlood and currently use Bionix and still have the issue. Or if anyone has a fix, such as an updated bluetooth stack, please let me know. its annoying not being about to stream music to my headphones.

Are you using SetCPU to throttle the CPU when the screen is off?
No I don't have setcpu installed at all.

This is only a theory and I've been able to recreate the problem using this method.
I used my touch pro in work all the time to listen to MP3s but never seemed to get the blips everyone else was getting. All be it the phone was sitting motionless on the desk.
Then I changed the situation. I connect my Touch Pro to the audio system in my car. When driving along the road I noticed that now and then the MP3s would "skip" or "blip" would occur going over a bump in the road. I'm not using a CD player so in theory that shouldn't happen. Maybe HTC have added this "feature" to give an authentic CD feel to things.
Then it dawned on me, THE G-SENSOR!! Everytime that there was an event which would register quite high on the G-Sensor the music would "blip" Now I'm just wondering if anyone else can replicate the situation.
I'm using the unlocked european Touch Pro with the PROven ROM.....
Next thoughts - if the G-Sensor can be disabled does the "blipping" stop??
I listen to music all the time in my car and haven't noticed this. I'm using a Moto T505, so I had to tweak my A2DP settings.
If you think its the G-Sensor, do you have an app like Gyrator running in the background? I don't have any G-Sensor app running and just use the Music tab on TFlo3D.

I do have Gyrator running, but will need to check again if it happens on a clean install with out any apps that use the G-sensor
Mine blips even sitting motionless on my desk.
Check out Da G's or NATF's latest ROMS.. Both have updated audio drivers from the Blackstone which might help the blips.. I hear them in S2P and the regular music app, but I dont use gyrator.

Hi All,
Anyone use their Nexus S with Bluetooth audio much?
I use it in the car connected to a Parrot in car system, mostly for podcasts in BeyondPod and Spotify.
While I can use the play/pause button to stop playback (if I've started playback on the device itself), I can't use the same button to resume playback. No matter what I've tried so far, I cannot get it to work.
It's kind of annoying when I accidentally catch the pause button, and have to fumble around for the phone to resume.
I tried freezing the stock Music app to see if that was grabbing the bluetooth playback control from BeyondPod, but that didn't help.
Could it be specific to the rom I'm running, or is this a known issue with the way Android works right now?
Thanks for any info...

Unless there's something odd with your head unit then it's either an app or a rom issue. Play / pause / resume works fine for me over by with a stock rom foe the stock music player, slacker radio, audiogalaxy and audible.
Sent from my Nexus S using XDA Premium App
works here also.....
Thanks for the replies. Sounds like it's worth some further investigation then. I'll flash stock and try a bit of trial and error.

So I tried flashing back to stock. Installed only Beyondpod and the same symptoms happened: pause ok, can't resume.
Then I installed Spotify, and found similar, although on one occasion pausing and playing Spotify caused Beyondpod to start. Only happened once though.
At this point, I'm thinking maybe the Parrot needs a software update. Especially if it's working OK for others.

When I'm changing or listening to songs on my Car via the Bluetooth from my S3, I experience a bit of a delay with changing songs or adjusting volume or anything that has to do with Bluetooth. Does this happen to anyone else?

It is happening to me on all ASOP builds using BT voice dialing. I speak a command and there is up to a 5 second delay in responding. This has been a problem on most of these build for at least a month.
I am making this thread to troubleshoot the issue of audio glitches when listening to music using CM12. If you have the same problem (or don't), please share any information or the ROM/Kernel you are using.
What is the issue? When listening to music either on a headset or bluetooth, the music occasionally makes a short skip or beeping sound. This happens for me only in Spotify, some have reported Google Play music and CM music player also has issues.
When does it happen? It typically occurs when the screen is off, but also sometimes when using the device when touching the display. Happens regardless if the music is offline or streamed.
Best fix right now:
- Install newest CM12 nightly
- Apply this bluetooth patch here [http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=58780279&postcount=1691]
This should fix almost all stuttering, but you may still get a few.
Other Possible fixes:
- Change Performace mode to 'Performace' in settings. (Suggested via joaopma on Reddit: http://www.reddit.com/r/oneplus/comments/2syi83/temporary_fix_for_cm12_audio_glitch/)
- Install AK Kernel (Lowered the glitches from about 10 per song to 1-2 per song)
- Franco Kernel is reported to fix the audio issues (not tested)
More info coming soon...
which rom and kernel are you running ?

Wait for the new nightly and stick with stock kernel and see if it fixes it. I see some audio fixes coming down.
I haven't personally tried it but people are saying this fixes it: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=58780279&postcount=1691

It may also have something to do with wifi/data running if you are streaming music. Will test downloaded offline music soon.

franco kernel does fix it (somtimes a beep in the start of a song).
you can also try enable a minimum of 2 cores when screen is off, that fixed it for me before.

This seems to have worked! 45 min drive home and no skips in car bluetooth. Tried both streaming and local files.

I used boeffla kernel and switched to [zzmove native 2 cores min] in hotplug settings. it worked like a charm.
additionally, disable the mpdecision in device control (if you have such a thing in cm12, i have it on blisspop) and tick CPU Set on boot.
also lower the min freq in device control to 300mhz.
this actually fixed it for me.
i only have to switch between the hotplug settings while listening to music or not.
sucks that this fix is only for One Plus One, I have a S5 but I really wanna try this.
bluetooth skipp/stutter
I just discovered my bluetooth audio stutter on CM12.1 was caused by gasbuddy app... force stop - perfect play. open it, stutters...
dang.
it has been in and out on CM12.1 nightlies for while. finally seem to isolate it.

I just tried this after reading over at the CM forums.
Yup, using Greenify to freeze GasBuddy immediately solved my issue.
I even tested, unhibernating GasBuddy, and it brought the issue back.
(I contacted the developer, and it sounds like they have recently installed BT permissions, getting ready for something new in the app down the road, no pun intended...maybe they need to look into BT control a little deeper if they are new to it, just speculating...it could still easily be a CM issue?)
My Galaxy S6 keeps randomly pausing music playback while I have it connected to the aux input in my car for no apparent reason. Phone is rooted on the stock AT&T Rom and has been restored via ODIN twice without any change. It did this before root as well without change. I have disabled nuplayer in the dev settings and tried resyncing my library multiple times thinking it was due to corrupted files. This clearly is a samsung issue and seems to be apparent with older generations of the Galaxy series as well. Does anyone have a fix? I can't imagine the rest of you are actually putting up with this bug on a $600 phone. It's really driving me nuts having to keep fiddling with the damn phone while I'm driving to unpause the music, raise the volume past the warning, just to do it again a few minutes later. Tried the stock music app as well as doubletwist, no changes. Could this be caused by some motion sensing feature that needs to be disabled?
So who here has a fix? Appreciate any tips or solutions. Thanks
I know I'm not the only one. Who knows the fix and wouldn't mind sharing? Thanks
Bump for info
I have a similar issue, as my Bluetooth earphones just stops playing music. The the strange thing is that my other pair of Bluetooth earphones work fine, and I've never had any issue with other Bluetooth media connections (including those in a car). It could be specific to your car.
I'm using Google Play Music.
Have you tried it with another system?

Do you guys happen to have the music pause gesture? Had this problem with the note 3 where video seems like it was lagging really bad but it was actually pausing and unpausing because of smart stay. Turned it off and it was perfect. It's probably a screen protector messing with the sensors for the gesture.

I faced this too.
This happened when i play music directly from the Widget. However if i open the app and play music, it didnt stop.
Hope this helps.
Blame the ****ty memory management that keeps killing apps.

OP, are you saying that when it pauses, it also resets the volume warning? Or was that just additional annoyance?
^^Combination of both. When playing music on the device via aux in my car, I have the phone set to max volume, then control volume output via my car. When using the stock music app, doubletwist, etc, the music will randomly pause playback for no reason while the screen is off while the phone sits in my lap untouched. Smart stay is off, and I'm running out of ideas honestly. Been listening to Pandora recently and haven't had issues in the past four days, so it's something with music playback for the device only. Any ideas would be appreciated. Thanks
Maybe your cable is loose or has a bad connection on one end or the other? When you unplug headphones, music playback stops. Try using an app like Trigger or Tasker to make something happen on headphone unplug, such as launching a certain app or whatnot so that you'll know if the phone thinks it got unplugged.
Try clearing the cache of the music app ir use Cache Cleaner (downloadable from Playstore) to clean all cache. You can also try going to recovery mode to wipe cache.
Unfortunately I clear cache weekly, and am certain its not a connection issue. Are there additional touch or motion sensor other than the smart stay function (currently disabled) that could be triggering this?
I don't know what to tell you. Using aux is similar to plugging in via headphones and I've had no issues in that regard. I've had no problems with Bluetooth streaming either. In cases like this, it could be app interference or faulty hardware.
Sent from my SM-T805 using Tapatalk
Is it only happening when you're using it in your car? What about with headphones or BT audio connections.
Do you have any sound effects enabled? I noticed that SoundAdapt really affected the performance of my phone, so it could be a factor.
Sent from my SM-G920T using XDA Free mobile app
I'm almost certain its some kind of gesture that is interfering. I don't use any of them and will gladly disable anything that could remotely cause this. I noticed the other night when my friend was driving my car, I was sitting in the passenger seat with my phone playing music through aux for at least an hour and no pausing whatsoever. I had the phone in my hand the entire time instead of near my leg sitting face up on my seat, which made me realize it must be some lockscreen gesture interfering. Any ideas?
Is the screen actually on? I don't know of any gestures that have an effect while the screen is off other than the one that makes the time display pop up, and I don't think that would cause music to pause.
There's a gesture that mutes if you put your hand over the sensors. Maybe it thinks that is getting tripped? But I don't know if that would cause the music to pause. Maybe try intentionally doing that gesture to see what effect it has?
If you think it's a gesture, just disable all of them and see if the problem clears up, then slowly reenable them to see when it breaks again.

Thanks. I will try that and let you know. I went ahead and disabled all of them. The screen is off btw when this happens.
I think it is because you are playing the music on full volume. I believe that the phone on some songs can't support the power output causing it to pause. Try instead playing it one level less than max. I noticed that this only happens with some songs specifically at max volume. This doesn't happen at a lower volume on these songs.
Galaxy s6 edge and s6 music pause or stop issue fixed
i had the same issue with my Samsung Galaxy s6 edge. music stops or pauses especially when i am using Soundcloud, pandora, Milk music player or Beatport.
but i fixed the issue .
First open the "Smart Manager" app and select battery.
Second select "details" and you should see most of the apps that uses more power.
Select "Cancel Auto stop" on the apps u want will be using especially your music app. if you don't want then to stop after sometime.
Thank you
Hope this solves ur problem
I am having this same problem on my S6 edge. Not rooted (first phone I haven't felt the need to root since the Evo).
It happens whether using connected headphones, bluetooth headphones, or in the car A2DP using the Google Music app, Pandora, or Slacker.
Was hypothesizing that notifications are causing the pauses. Would like to try the suggestion above but WHERE IS THE SMART MANAGER app?
Also, was wondering if anyone with the problem fooled around with the animation scale settings described here: http://www.digitaltrends.com/mobile/galaxy-s6-tips-and-tricks/4/ (under How to unlock Developer options)? Wondering if that is causing my/our problems.
Thanks,
Tony
