hello~I come from HangZhou China. So sorry for my bad English...
Before I use the BLN I have already got the new kernel(Netarchy Nexus - 1.3.4-cfs-2.3.4 (For stock 2.3.4 roms)).I think it can work BLN.
But it still can't work when I have new messages or the call i have't see.
What‘s the matter? How can I adjest the BLN? thank you ~
Hey,
You need to download the blind control app/bln control pro from the android market and set the settings for bln on that.
Thanks!

P.s. try my Matr1x kernel as well if you get a chance.

Sorry I meant the bln control not blind lol

Use this https://market.android.com/details?id=neldar.bln.control.free&feature=search_result from the android market to set BLN, there is a list of options.
In chinese,
先去android market下载BLN Control Free. 之后就能控制了。嗨,我真实太就没有使用话语了

Anyone have a keyboard lag fix for the leaked gingerbread build or for Eaglesblood? The lag is just ridiculous.
I've tried installing the Gingerbread keyboard from the market, no luck. Some people say to turn off haptic feedback in the keyboard settings, but I don't have that option in settings.

Wrong thread.....
G2X
This goes in General. And yes there is a fix in the respective threads. Both roms are based off the leaked GB and is a known issue.
Download the GB keyboard from the market.

also have lag on the keyboard on gingerbread
I've had great success using an alternative sms program ie chomp sms from the app store. I'm using swype but again both the gingerbread keyboard and swype keyboard were having the same huge lag issue. It was almost intolerable. I installed chomp sms and disabled the standard message app and everything is running absolutely crystal smooth.... Running eagle blood... Good luck!

I'm using Smart Keyboard seems to be helping with lag also has an option to disable period button because I'm always hitting it accidentally. It will make space bar bigger if you disable period button.
Hey,
Just got nexus s, does cm7 have led notifications?
thanks.
Well, the phone doesn't have an LED, so no?
Honestly I haven't run CM on my phone, so I wouldn't know. There is an app in the market called NOLED that uses either the screen or bottom buttons as a notification.
You can download a kernel that supports BLN. I use Matrix, but I believe tiamat and Pete's kernels has them baked into their respected kernels as well. Also you will need to download the BLN app in the market. There is a free and Pro version. These will make the compacitive buttons blink when you have a notification. Hope that helps.

Thanks for info
Cm7 does support BLN just download it from the market

I beg to differ.
I'm on CM 7.1.0.1-NS and BLN gives "Error: The BLN mod is not installed" on start-up.
According to all reports, a replacement kernel is in order - but that's then not standard CM7.
there any way to incorperate BLN into VB final (fixed) sorry though i was in Q & A

If you read the whole thing, I'm sure a light will go off.

No worries. AFAIK you need a kernel with BLN support, either v.0.1.1-rc3 or v.0.2.0, then install the app.
Yes, the kernel must have BLN added to it, independent of the ROM.
For what its worth, I'm on VB final and BLN works beautifully, I'm using the paid app if it helps.

It would be cool to have this built into a rom also, negating the need for an app. But I'm not about to make that kind of request...

You need the app to enable it at all. There ARE some system files that get created with the app that control the state of the notifications though.
For now that's true, but nearly anything is possible if the hardware and kernel support it. If an app can enable that behavior, then it can theoretically be hard coded into a rom, am I right? But that's lot to ask for when a free download does the job. I mean, given the huge list of things the few devs we have are busy with, coding bln into their work is a waste of time.
Anyway... That was more than enough diverting from the topic.

Thank you bbelos for the port of kernel 3.x
This thread will contain test builds of a Nyan colonel built off of kernel 3.x. This does not currently have voodoo sound or over clock capabilities. This has a bunch of tweaks I have found and would like tested such as didle and other new things. This is based on the 3.x port by bbelos.
What does not work:
Vibration
4G WiMax
Compass
You need to put the following files on your SD card along with the kernel:
Download all files here besides zImage
Now you will need to download the test kernel. If it is named zImage.bin, rename it zImage:
6/3/12 9:49 EST: http://i.minus.com/1338785488/MLUAXU3KBgO9DEjDXcsUKA/iyU7MabwAtc4I
Flash boot_zImage_with_boot.zip in CWM or twrp and it should reboot into the kernel.
It should be mentioned the orientation sensor doesn't work either, although I'm not sure if it's just the auto-rotation feature that doesn't work or it won't even turn orientation when you want to change the orientation of your camera.
One question though: What are the benefits of the new kernel?

The screen orientation, oddly enough, is not handled by the orientation sensor. Or at least not in this case. It must be handled by the accelerometer. The orientation sensor is needed for things like compass apps, etc.

It used to say cap time out did not work. I just recently told bbelos that orientation works now. My build can also have different bugs/fixes. For example, I fixed the color issues on mine.

I never said portrait/landscape mode didn't work. The orientation sensor doesn't work. It doesn't return any readings. Test it with Elixir2, or a compass app.

This is awesome btw. Can't wait til you can get all the options that make the 2.x nyans what they are working.
I would also like to know, in layman's terms, what the benefits of using the 3.x kernels will be (once they're fully operational of course).

Back up.
Bbelos accidentally posted links to Uberpinguin's private file server and I used the kexec zip link from his blog post. Warren did not know the whole story (I assume) and publicly posted (if you saw it, you saw it). Uberpinguin kindly asked and I removed the link and apologized to him. He understood and Kenny unlocked the thread.

A bunch of misunderstandings and too many mediums to contact people through.
Moral of the story is let's resolve conflicts privately.
Thanks

guess i missed all the "fun." pretty glad i did too. anyways, i still havent tried this kernel out. i'll try to give it a shot tonight. does it work with any ics rom or should i stick with cm while testing it now? and as far as the tweaks you mention in the OP, are they behind the scenes tweaks, or should i use a specific app to utilize them, like nstools for live OC and such on your other kernels? which i still dont really know how to use, lol. i just leave the live OC option at 100% on nstools. not sure what im sposed to use for the best performance or best battery tho. but ill go to the nyan v5 thread to ask about that stuff.

Dear,
Isn't it possible to use the softkeys backlight (apps, back and home) as notification light?
I have a one s with CM10 build 4 installed.
The reason why I wanna do this is because the notification light isn't always so 'clear'.
Is this possible?
Thx!

I know with older Samsung phones they had to build a kernal with a BLN mod in it and you could download the bln app and that would work. Not sure if that might work on HTC though...worth a shot, you might ask someone who builds our kernals about it.

We need something. The only thing I really get jealous of when I see a SGS3 is their notification light. Someone finally got it right.
TBH, the types of folks who can pull this off aren't trolling the Q&A forum. It's a great idea and I hope one of the true developers decides to look at the code, but a bunch of +1s aren't the answer. Maybe someone should start a kickstarter bounty
