Dear,
Isn't it possible to use the softkeys backlight (apps, back and home) as notification light?
I have a one s with CM10 build 4 installed.
The reason why I wanna do this is because the notification light isn't always so 'clear'.
Is this possible?
Thx!

I know with older Samsung phones they had to build a kernal with a BLN mod in it and you could download the bln app and that would work. Not sure if that might work on HTC though...worth a shot, you might ask someone who builds our kernals about it.

I would really like this as well. The notification LED on the One S is a joke!

We need something. The only thing I really get jealous of when I see a SGS3 is their notification light. Someone finally got it right.
TBH, the types of folks who can pull this off aren't trolling the Q&A forum. It's a great idea and I hope one of the true developers decides to look at the code, but a bunch of +1s aren't the answer. Maybe someone should start a kickstarter bounty

Seriously devs, name one of your enemies.

I would love that app, too
Of course I would donate, I think this app will be very useful to everyone

Overall I'm definitely loving this phone
One thing I've noticed is that in a dark room this phone is ridiculously bright on auto
And that the high level of brightness are causing a little bit of color washout
Swype worked initially, I switched keyboards and then switched back now it shows up half the size it should be
(Another thing I hadn't realized is how many apps wouldn't be coded for ics yet, looking for native ics app suggestions)
(Also is there a way to make the battery in the notification bar have a percentage)
Is anyone else having these issues?

I agree with you on the brightness. Once we have the bootloader unlocked there are ways to change the auto brightness sensitivity. Same with the battery %.
The swype issue is an issue with the swype beta. I have already posted on their forums reporting the bug.
As for apps, they're being updated for ICS slowly but surely. Be patient

Lol but instant gratification is awesome.
Btw you see the thread about a possible perma root method being found?
Any good alternative swype like keyboards found?

No I haven't seen that thread.
Swype alternatives? Nothing is quite the same as Swype, but Swiftkey X is pretty damn good for standard touch typing.
Idk I just find it surprising that even huge apps ex. Facebook haven't been updated yet. Then again barely any devices have ics so......

Very nice.
It's a step towards freedom, but we're still not quite there yet.

Actually the default keyboard is swipe enabled. I actually like it better because the auto correct seems to be more accurate. It had its flaws but it is great for swipe and touch typing whereas swype sucks for touch typing.

Just an fyi, if you use notification toggles, you get not only the toggles but you can also set the app icon in the status bar to show battery with percent . It's kinda a bandaid for now but it works for me till we can get some custom Rom goodness.

noticed that the facebook app (the blue for example looks really light to me)
which is weird, but then again other apps have darker blues
anyone elses facebook app (across the top bar) look like brighter then it should?
Hi there viperoneS users. I absolutely love the new rom. The developers have done a fantastic job.
However I do have an issue regarding the AOSP Lockscreen.
Everytime I check the AOSP imcomming call workaround option in the Lockscreen tweaks menu, it unchecks itself after reboot and the crucial option for me does not work.
Ive tried things like wiping cache, I even reinstalled the entire rom.
Can you guys please check if there's a bug or maybe provide me a solution to sort this out?
AOSP LOCKSCREEN looks much better than the standard sense Lockscreen, but because its not unlocking itself while getting a call I am forced to use the standard one.
I second that! The issue indeed exists!
Dude u post that in the viper thread why would u make your own thread just spam :banghead:

Sorry mate, im quite new to xda forums, ive been writing that at work so i didnt hav time to look around. is there actually a Viper thread where i can post? because i still havent got those 10 posts to write in the development section... :-\
thanks

I'm having the same issue and can't post to the dev section as well.
From reading some other threads, it seems that this issue occurs with all of the aosp lockscreen implementations and is not just specific to this rom.
Wish there was a fix though as this rom rocks! Please update this thread of you get any answers.
Sent from my HTC One S using xda app-developers app
this issue is prevalent in all VIPER ROM releases. Seems like they missed smething in coding the ASOP lockscreen tweak. Check the HTC One X forum and this issue has been raised there!
Seems like this issue has been resolved now after having upgraded to 1.1.
Sent from my HTC One S using xda app-developers app
Also, it isn't that hard to get 10 posts...glad it got fixed.
Yep, works perfectly after 1.1.0 uptate. Thats what you call a quick response tp the problem

I, too, experienced the same problem with the Lockscreen. Also seemed to not work properly with Faceunlock, as well. I turned off the ICS AOSP lockscreen and it works fine now.

Any noticeable battery drain? I feel like this could be power hungry if not properly implemented...
Hey guys,
I've been searching everywhere for a kernel or ROM or anything I can do to get my 1s to have that amazing sexy BLN! Can anyone point me to the right direction?

ButtonLed another of my personal favourite little apps.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1958939
ButtonLED doesn't work for me for some reason.. when I do the "test backlight" it will flash like its suppose too. But when I get a real message or missed call the buttons never light up. But thanks for that. That's the closest I've got to BLN.
I don't know much about kernels but ive been reading about building them. I was wondering if someone knows if I could just mod my kernel and add some lines for BLN support. And what lines to add?
Much appreciated!!!
Sent from my HTC One S
EDIT: I got ButtonLED to work! Awesomeness!!!!
Before the Development Thread get too clustered like TrickDroid 10 I think a Q&A Thread Opened. I know that at this time it hasn't been released yet but I think getting a head start would help in the long run.
Please use this thread for any questions pertaining to DarkSense 5
I am not a developer, just trying to keep that thread clear.
Edit* It is released*

As stated in the 2nd Post:
I HAVE ALSO DISCOVERED THE HSPDA/HSPA+ DO NOT WORK. THE ICONS WERE CHANGED, WHERE 3G/UMTS INTERNET IS BEING USED H/H+ WOULD DISPLAY ON THE NOTIFICATION BAR.
All that was done was changed the systemui.apk to show the 4G/H+ icon but still shows as UMTS in the Settings->About->Network
The heck? The original version of that post said that HSPA was fixed, then the dev 'discovered' that it was just a cosmetic change? Disappointing.

chill, we can be happy that we are getting sense 5 this way. and this black theme looks nice on amoled display.
I understand why you are disappointed. I did three speed tests with three very different results, so I was certain that all three did work. However, the SystemUI that I received when Taylor handed the bulk of the product over to me had icons changed. I realised that something was dodgy when I made a couple of new SystemUIs, changing no xmls, just status bar icons, and the H/H+ magically disappeared.
Still, you can get around 9MB/s on this, which is H/H+ speed, the status bar will just say 3G.
