My third charge is on its way right now. My last 2 phones have had issues reconnecting to 3g if the signal drops. I have to reboot to get data back. Have to reboot 2-3 times a day because of this issue. This issue seemed to start after fp1 was pushed. I get that network signals will have hiccups, but I wait 30-45 minutes and it will not re-establish without a reboot. I've tried toggling mobile data and airplane mode, but it does not reconnect.
Anyone else have this issue?
I've had issues over the past week. Data will show 4g and yet nothing is connecting. Other times it shows no data indicator at all. Data toggle, switch to 3g, etc seems to randomly fix the issue. Can't say I've had to reboot. Usually just wait it out.
I honestly think it's a local issue for me though. I'm in Destin, FL and we just got 4g about a month ago. Figure they are fine tuning.

You really need to try pulling the battery and SIM. Wait for maybe 5-10 minutes. I have no idea what that does, but it seems to be the only thing that works for me on occasion.
I usually go to settings>wireless n network> mobile settings> system selection..... Then I just pick something else and then change back to LTE. My 4g gets reset without having to reboot.

This is a known problem with the charge. Ask any tech support person. The easiest way to fix o found was to just turn on airplane mode wait a minute and turn it off. Read is why verizon is sending me a razr, but while I'm waiting I'm using my charge and this problem is out of hand on my phone and this works everytime

I have experienced this twice already. Tried turning off data, radio and turning back on don't work. Must restart device to get back data. I am using notification toggle and using its 4g menu, I tried to test ping but the error is IP address unreachable.
Just a headsup for anyone who experienced this as I doubt there is a fix because I can't really pinpoint what went wrong.

Did you have wifi on? What are you on 1.73?
I had a similar issue where if I had wifi on with the stock firmware I would at random lose data connection turning off wifi then turning it back on seemed to fix it. I have since rooted and updated to 1.82 and so far haven't had the issue.
Just happened to me again about 20 minutes ago. I went into settings/mobile network/access point names and the checked the circle by AT&T PTA. I have NO idea what this does, but it immediately reconnected me to the data network.

I had this last week, update to 1.85 and it should be fixed.
Edit: retracted. Still have the problem on 1.85.

Yeah I've had that happen to me a couple times. Very annoying. You have to reboot for it to start working. Hasn't happened yet ever since going on cleanrom though

I switched to a new sim and that fixed my data connection issues. The sim that shipped in my preorder seemed to have problems.
It's happened to me a handful of times aswell.
However you do not need to restart your device. Turning airplane mode on then off will reconnect you.
I've been having this issue since day 1 as well. toggling airplane mode does not fix anything either. happens on both 4g and LTE, however it seems much more frequent on LTE and the phone really heats up when it happens.

It's only happened to me on 1.85. Sometimes when it happens I can't make calls, sometimes just Internet. Every time I've had 3 bars to full on signal.

How long have you had the new sim?
I also got a new sim. That was Saturday. I haven't dropped calls or been unable to call but I have lost data. Shows 4 bars but no 4g in a 4g area. When I go to settings it said not connected to mobile network. (maybe not exact terminology) restarting fixed it.

I have had the SIM about a week to 10 days. I remember reading about people having this issue and thought maybe it was the SIM. Worked for me so far.
I was like u and had the same issue except I would have to reboot the phone to regain a data connection.

I've lost data connection once, I did a quick on/off of mobile data in settings and it started working fine again.

i tried that, also airplane mode. only thing worked for me was a reboot
I get this when I go in a low signal area, and in Vegas no matter the signal strength. Just random data drops.

This is the same for me. Mine went out yesterday morning and I left it alone to see if it would correct itself, then tried toggling data, then airplane mode. Nothing worked but a reboot.

I ll add to the list. Same issue, and only reboot solves it. I thought it was a sim issue as well, and will get mine replaced to see if it solves the issue, as it is happening more frequently. And seems to happen when I put the phone into airplane mode when using a sleep monitoring app, the signal will not come back unless the phone is rebooted.
Rogers one X on virgin, 1.73
Yup this happens to me a lot.
I don't like auto setup so my data is only on when I switch it on.
Several times data will drop off and not come back.
I tested this out at home where it's mostly WiFi for me....happened several times.
Reboot is the only thing that fixes it.
It's random and once I reboot it seems fine, but still annoying.
This is just data. I have not had WiFi issues much. I'm still 1.7 ....

Same when I had the issue, airplane mode didn't fix it. For me it only happened on LTE, can't remember ever happening on "4G".
Strange but I really haven't had this issue since upgrading to 1.85. Maybe it will come back.
In the last few days my phone has been cutting in and out of 4g/2g. Areas where I normally get 4g, its shows 2g. A simple reboot fixes it. Also, I have not gone over my cap and I'm not even close... another thing I just noticed today. When I run the ussd codes to check minutes/balance/data/balance the phone app force closes and the signal breaks. A couple seconds later and service is back. This is a replacement phone that I received last week I didn't have these issues. Could this be a sim card error?

Hey guys,
I've had my gs5 since launch and initial Best Buy told me they were having issues getting the phones to activate and that it would take a bit... So I switched the default LTE/CDMA antenna to automatic mode and eventually it acquired data and LTE/3g works, however it keeps warning me about how activation isn't complete and when I let it go through the process it just ends up failing and retrying 5 times. I need to force close it to make it go away but If I restart it comes back.
TLDR: phone has data/service but still tells me to activate in notification tray.
Anyone else have this issue or know how to fix it? Much appreciated.

I've been having that issue as well. Do you live near a spark network area?
Where I live the LTE doesnt have csfb and I think that had part of the reason why it wouldnt fully activate. But I live near a spark network so i drove up into Ft. Worth and restarted my phone in LTE/cdma mode and went thru the activation process yet again. And this time it worked and hasn't come back since then.
I had a similar issue
I called sprint many times and went to multiple sprint stores
I finally got it activated though phone call
If the first rep can't activate it
Hang up and call again

Im having same issue here. Have you resolved your issue or just got used to it?
You're probably missing /carrier folder files. I'm not sure if Alpineman has them posted for the S5 in his HFA loop fix thread.

today my mate 9 started to acting up really weird moving the phone time 5 hrs ahead by itselt, time zone is still the same.
not sure if it is a network problem with tmobile but I wondet if somebody has experienced this issue?
only way to make it stop so far is disabling the auto update time/date from network.
Never happened to me, at least not erroneously. And I roam quite a bit.
Sent from my MHA-L29 using XDA Labs
yeah, same here never seen it before until today, I will try it to go back to auto mode later on and see if it happens again
I did some testing and apparently it is a problem with Tmobile network switching, while I'm on 4g/3g cellphone time is ok but as soon as I switched to H+/2g my time switch up 5 hrs ahead.
Mystery solved. I would report the findings to the operator.
