Touch Diamond Replacement Housing!! Help!!!!

I just dropped my diamond by accident while running to my car to avoid the rain =="....
It was in a PDA case, but it still somehow popped out of the case and got scratched up...
So I am in DIRE NEED OF A REPLACEMENT HOUSING!!!
lucky for me, the only damaged parts were the metal rim around the front side of the phone and the battery cover...
I am thinking of just getting an extended battery so i can get a new battery cover with it as well.
But I can't find the Replacement part for the rim around the front of the phone...
I took a lot at the phone and it seems easy enough to replace the rim....but i need to find the part first....
Please guys, any help will be very much appreciated....

i talked it over with htc canada today and it may cost upwards 100 CDN to fix the cosmetic damage =(

In a very rare occasion you can use dummy phones.
Mostly the inside is completely different, no way of using those dummies for housing parts.
Haven't seen a dummy Diamond yet, so I can't tell if it is usable, but mostly HTC dummies aren't usable.

i'm just lokoing to replace the outer rim on the front side of the phone and the battery cover....?
so maybe its possible...
ill drop by a local mall and see if its possible i guess....

loads of dummy diamond phones on ebay the last time i check it out.

which is fine for me if i can use it as housing and battery cover replacement
anyways heading out to check the dummy model =)

its one giant piece, so i can't really take it apart to replace the piece i want...

How hard is it to take apart the diamond?
The invisible shield really stuffed up my screen. I can see parts flaked off the screen (looks like a thin protection layer) which is believe is the touch sensor itself. It has not affected the use of the phone but looks ugly.

aw man...the housing is one whole piece from what i can tell from the last picture...guess a DIY housing replacement is not really gonna be easy....
i'm gonna ask HTC for an estimate....
just minor cosmetic damage on mine on the corners so nothing too huge but it pains me to see it every time =(
at least this seems a bit easier than fixing the iphone....its so much work to put in a new digitizer cause of the way the housing is built

-i'mn looking for a spare part which is the frame that goes around the screen - if its the earliest model of the desire - should be a brown colour.
Any ideas where I can get such a spare part.

Contact HTC or find and buy a bricked one to disassemble
(and you can always try to google for desire spare parts )

The 'brown frame' is not a separate piece. Some places sell the front part of the housing on it's own and others selling the full housing (front and back). Replacing it is by no means an easy task though.

Many thawed for the reply. I feel like an idiot. Walked into a wall, Lolz. Housing is 40 on ebay, I can.do that but will it void my warranty/

In my case, the lcd screen and the digitiser is ok and i only need to change the "Brown Frame" which is damage.

Look on brandoshop, you should find the spare parts you're after. Anyway disassembling your device on your own could be really hard, plus as said it will feck up your warranty. I'd simply ask htc for support, if i were you...maybe it will be way more expensive and will take a while, but imho it's much much safer...good luck.

Hi ,i had bad luck,my new galaxy s fall on the floor day before my case-mate tough has arrived. Now i have minor damage near usb in front housing part. I ordered new front housing from Ebay. The problem is that i dont know how to replace this part and i afraid to do more damage in the replacing process.
Anybody can give me a link to detailed video guide describing replacement process?

The disassembly vid only contains half disassembly!
I'm looking for a video that shows how to take apart the metal front bezel.
Got any ideas?

I had looked into this originally, and had decided to abandon the idea.
It seemed like the glass is glued or taped onto the frame. A lot of the feedback that I got gave me the impression the glass would be easily broken by trying to remove it from the frame.

I also decided to abandon this idea.i'll take my galaxy to the laboratory. They can do the replacement for shure

I am a samsung tech and I order the screen as a whole.
Only bits you save are the mainboard,back,battery and battery cover.
everything else is replaced.
if you find anything else on ebay its a fake part and will void your warranty if anything else goes wrong.

[Q] Original Htc Case for Desire S

Hi, i'm thinking on buy this Htc Original Case for my Desire S, but i can find only this image on all kind on web-sites i searched, no one video or a photo with this case on the smartphone.
Can somebody help me posting some different photoes of this, maybe a video? Thanks a lot!

It says it's the official htc case and has 2 good reviews. Doesn't seem to look like the case in your picture though.
I didn't even know htc made cases though! I thought they only made pouches.

is the same site where i found the case i ask for, is under productors htc, i can't post external link yet, but is on sale on the same web-site you linked, but there is only the picture i posted, i can't find out how is when applied on the DS and of what materials is made (appear to be in cloth over the first strate of plastic, or polycarbonate idk)
then again, no one have bought this case for a little review?

This is brand new...to b released in a week hence no reviews yet. I have the htc tpu original case, which is pretty gd. Best ive found tho is the propora mizu shell.

thanks! i bought one of these 2 days ago :\ now i'm thinking to refuse or not it. With thse photoes don't look as good quality as on htc website... is really simply plastic, maybe a case mate can be better... i'll let you know in these next days.

As there not being many branded options available in India, I have ordered almost all kinds available on eBay India, including a few screen protectors.
Fake capdase is all over the market but pathetic quality.
Don't really like the silicone kinds, they attract too much dust and if it's a black one, God help you keeping the dust and fibres off!!!
The mesh ones without protection for the top and bottom corners is useless.
Then came the Amzer soft rubberized plastic case, have been using since 3 months and has served well during the 2 accidental drops. Full all around protection.
Have a matte finish screen protector on as of now, helps cut the glare down and improve visibility in daylight but the screen looks very dull if brightness is turned down. Good thing is it does not smear & stain with fingerprints and is actually scratch proof.
Tried the most expensive indian branded scratchgard screen protector but was crap, too much glare and scratched all over within the first couple of days.

[Q] Bezel around the screen - replacement??

I have damaged the metallic black bezel around the screen at a few places (especially the part above the micro usb port). I guess it is called Faceplate.
What I wanted to know is if I can replace this part somehow. If I look at the region under the screen after opening the slider, it appears as if it can come off.
If it is possible to replace it, does anyone know where can I buy one of these?? I have googled but could not find anything.

I have found only a full cover. Try searching milestone 2 housing on eBay.

I've ordered one from the link above and I should receive it in the next 7-14 days so I'll let you know how I go but I'm 100% confident that the physical housing between the MS2 and D2 are identical.

I have received the housing (from the eBay link above) and fitted it last night. The case is a Verizon stamped unit and is 100% perfect, next time I think I'll just live with the worn look. Very fiddly job but does give you an appreciation of the engineering ... They use a lot of adhesive, pita.

Well I have managed to knick the display input cable and now have a one centimetre row smack in the middle of the screen that won't respond to touch. My fault, I thought I'd taken care to ensure no damage to some of these fragile cables but alas no
So, just ordered a SGII Stick that where the sun doesn't shine Motorola! Yeah, I know you couldn't care less but I feel better

Well thanks for the info. I won't have the luxury of buying a new one if I ruin my MS2 so I guess I'll stick with a little wear and tear. BTW nice buy!!

Or just take it to your nearest phone repair shop and they'll sort it out. =D

How does the housing attach to the digitizer/glass? Because the tutorial I found on iFixit didn't detach the digitizer from the housing.
My housing cracked badly, I "fixed" a corner with superglue, but I think it permeated through the digitizer, so there's a strip in the left side (the one with the MENU button) which is insensitive. Another drop and the whole top part fell off and I don't intend to glue this one. Probably I'll buy a new front panel and a new digitizer, but I need to know if I'll be able to attach them at home or if I'll need some adhesive (yuck).
