Hi everyone,
Just got my Pro yesterday and generally loving it - with one major problem though.... I can't seem to add music to the device.
If I dump them straight on the memory card then TF3D music tab says "No Music Found", if I sync them over WMP11 to the device then it shows them - but no album art and their durations are all zero seconds. WMP won't play them either. They're just in MP3 format and play fine everywhere else.
Help?
In the TF3d music tab, click on the Library softkey. You should be able to find them in there (under artists, albums, etc). Once you select a song, it will then load into the TF3d music tab. Hope that helps.
Thanks, I can get them to show there but without album art and the duration is zero seconds... WMP Mobile shows an error "access denied" when i try to play them there, if that helps.
I have no problem accessing my mp3s, but I did not use WMP11 to sync them.
I just copied mp3s right onto my microSD card, separated into folders by album (eg: \Music\artist1\album1\song.mp3), with a folder.jpg image for the album art. TF3d/Library recognized the files and the album art with no problem.
Hmmn, tried that, still the same thing. Just hard reset the device and still a no-go. This is beginning to really bug me very badly (like sending the device back kinda bad).
Double post to update:
So, I find that I can add WMA files without a problem. So at least I have a viable work-around for the problem. This doesn't actually help me sort out what the problem regarding mp3s actually is.
I thought it may be something to do with the File Associations, that I broke them somehow by installed Coreplayer, but I'm less sure now that a Hard Reset didn't solve the problem. It still could be, I see others have had similar problems relating to the registry (although their problems always came after installation of a different media player, rather than on the devices stock ROM). Does anyone know where the pertinent registry values are, and what they should be? Or perhaps others have some different solutions?

Have you tried soft resetting and deleting the file
\Application Data\HTC\AudioManager_Eng\AudioManager_Eng.vol
before switching to the TouchFlo Music tab?
Found I've had to rebuild my library in this way each time new mp3s have been added.
(I assume the mp3 aren't DRM protected - copied a number over myself by mistake which caused a similar problem.)
Probably a silly question,
When i synced my phone with Windows media player 11, all the tracks went across but not the artwork. Having looked in the folders on my pc, i see that the folder has an image, but there is no image file to transfer to the TPro. How do i get the artwork across and does this have to be a manual process.
If the album art is in the folder and named folder.jpg it automatically picks them up ardsar.
Thanks for that Lazy Slug, I'll give it a go.

Fancy seeing you here, and sorry didn't mean to hijack your thread, it's a great forum eh!
im using vista with wmp v. 11 and wmp cannot see my touchpro even if it is connected (via bluetooth). i've got no problems syncing mails, calendars, etc. i just cant seem to sync audio files using wmp.
thanks.
Well, my problem is sorted (kinda). I backed up my mp3's to a different external hardrive, something has happened in that process that means they only work on my PC - my PS3 can no longer stream them, my N82 can't play them, my Touch Pro can't either. I'm still trying to work out how to fix them (although when I have time I'll dig up my old drive and see whether they work from there). So good news: nothing wrong with my PS3, N82, Touch Pro.
Regarding your issue dido-11 - have you set up the Touch Pro to sync in WMP11? Instructions are in the manual for how to, if you haven't already tried.
NZtechfreak: indeed, it's in the manual. sorry, quite excited to use it right away without looking at the manual.
fhsieh: thanks, ill try that method as well.

Did you try to reencode one mp3 in standard 128 (not VBR) and see if is played?
They're all constant bitrate, they work when converted to WMA. I don't think its a problem with encoding though, since they worked fine with everything previously.

I am syncing my music with Windows Media Player 11 - it syncs over fine and the image art is there when playing the music in the windows media player on the fuze, but not present in the cover flow app. Where are these images stored? There are no jpgs in the directories where the MP3s are.
Has anyone experienced this type of problem?
It was fine until I updated my itunes or xperia to RBA20A.
However afterward, I tried to transfer my songs from media go to xperia but it will not create m3u file.
I tried sony ericcson media sync on mac, but the lists (playlist, artists, podcast and so on) are empty.
Anyone experiencing this sort of problem? Care to share you story and your solution?
Thanks!
I have the same problem. I can create the playlists in Mediago but when I try to move them to the phone they are not accepted. The funny thing is that after trying multiple times, I managed to get a couple of playlists transfered but others will not transfer.
i do got the same problem.............media go only transfers 5 out of my 11 playlists, tried many times.........
same problem for me, this is a bug, i have tried deleting and renaming, recreating, and now I dont know what else to do any hint?
I just found out that there are some songs files with some trouble unknown that if I remove this song from the playlist the file will be copied. Besides this you can see on the error log on media go.
Error: Could not transfer playlist 'x' to device 'XPERIA'
Code: 0x8004e009 (An error occurred writing the file. Make sure you have write access to the file/folder and that there is enough free space.)
one more update, I found out that these "corrupted" songs are with special characters on the filename. I removed this character, delete the file from the phone and synchronize it again and then the play list appears on the phone
i have switched back to mediaGo 1.4...........its working flawlessly
i will try mediago 1.4 again
thanks for update everyone.
Hi, for those of you with playlist problem with some special character, you can try to open the m3u file with notepad and save it again with encoding set as "UTF-8" instead of "ANSI".
Hope this wil help you as it did for me.
i'm using Media Go 1.5
or media go 1.4 just works as well
Just installed 1.4 and it works.
I contacted Sony AGES ago about MediaGo because I found out almost immediately that it would not add songs with "special" characters to the library. I used it for my PSP and there were SO many problems with it.
Eventually they did an update and it fixed it for some characters but not all of them!
MediaGo is, really, a piss-poor piece of software for managing media files. The only redeeming feature for me is the ability to re-encode movie files for specific devices.
Also, my PSP supports "SensMe" so why can't the X10?
Sorry if this was maybe supposed to be posted in another forum or thread.
Flashed with ZEUS 6, I went to listen to some songs of mine, and all the songs were blank: the song and album titles weren't there. When I pressed one of the blank songs, I got: "Sorry, the player does not support this type of audio file," but the player showed the name of the song. I scrolled down and saw only three playable songs with the titles and album art listed. I went to My Files and was able to play the .mp3's there, though, for some reason. Recorded video just said, "Unsupported file type." I Google'd around as much as I could, but all of the solutions didn't go pass deleting a Twitter app, something I never downloaded or had. I think it might've had something to do with uninstalling BetterBatteryStats, but I'm unsure. I'm not sure if it's something I did or the ROM, which has been pretty buggy ever since I flashed it. I rebooted the phone already, a bunch of times, and it seems like the only option I have is to flash back to stock, unless there's another solution. This started happening today.
Extra details:
All the songs are on an external SD card.
iTag and Google music also only listed those 3 songs, but PowerAmp was able to list and play them fine (I downloaded it to see if it wouldn't play those songs).
Unable to record or play recorded videos.
EDIT: I fixed the music problem. As it turns out there was something called a .nomedia file on my SD card. I deleted it, but I still can't record or play recorded videos.
So I have around 1000 songs on iTunes that I want to transfer over to my phone since I just got a new SD card for it. The problem is, the ID3 tags that display correctly in iTunes show up as a bunch of jumbled characters on Android 2.3's default, as well as other music players including doubleTwist, Poweramp and so on. What's weird is that the phone only does this for certain songs. However, other songs using the same set of characters will display properly.
I've tried to sync my iTunes library with my phone using programs like doubleTwist and SnapPea already. Both produce the exact same result as dragging and dropping the files into my SD card's 'media' folder would--all they do is take the files from 'My Music' (the ones with the messed up ID3 tags) so the file titles are all messed up in the phone's music player.
For example, I have a song starting with the symbol 'θ' that will display properly on my phone but 'β' doesn't display... it turns it a Chinese character for some reason. I've used apps like ID3Fixer to no avail. Besides, it'd take too long for me to go through the metadata of 1000 songs... surely there's a way to fix this if iTunes can display them correctly? I've been looking for ways to forcibly embed the iTunes metadata onto the standalone files themselves (in 'My Music') but I still haven't found anything. In fact, the ID3 tags for these songs are messed up outside iTunes because I only edited their metadata in iTunes in the first place.
Any help at all is appreciated. Thanks.
I recently added all my music (roughly 90GB of music) to a Sandisk 128 GB Class 10 microSD. I put this microSD into my phone and my music players were unable to locate all the music. I don't know how, but at one point, all my music was finally scrollable. After some tinkering with the ".nomedia" file, all my album artwork showed up in my gallery. I've since then installed QuickPic to deal with that annoyance. However, I have been unable to look at all my music again. The majority of my music are in one big folder with no name, or in Shuttle, every song in it is called "null - null". How can I restore my phone's ability to view my entire library of music?
I've yet to try deleting everything off the card, and then retransferring, but that's a real pain in the butt and I would rather do that as a final option (though I don't know if that would even help).
I have tried deleting my music players' data and uninstalling/reinstalling and restarting my phone and unmounting/mounting my SD card, but still no luck.
Oh, and I am rooted on QF6 Hybrid Nougat ROM.
Sounds like the files are corrupt. To test this plug your phone into your pc and try playing the music with a media player on your pc. If the music plays, then it is not corrupt.
I had a similar issue a while back and it was because my music didn't transfer correctly and some of it wouldn't play.
