Sorry if this was maybe supposed to be posted in another forum or thread.
Flashed with ZEUS 6, I went to listen to some songs of mine, and all the songs were blank: the song and album titles weren't there. When I pressed one of the blank songs, I got: "Sorry, the player does not support this type of audio file," but the player showed the name of the song. I scrolled down and saw only three playable songs with the titles and album art listed. I went to My Files and was able to play the .mp3's there, though, for some reason. Recorded video just said, "Unsupported file type." I Google'd around as much as I could, but all of the solutions didn't go pass deleting a Twitter app, something I never downloaded or had. I think it might've had something to do with uninstalling BetterBatteryStats, but I'm unsure. I'm not sure if it's something I did or the ROM, which has been pretty buggy ever since I flashed it. I rebooted the phone already, a bunch of times, and it seems like the only option I have is to flash back to stock, unless there's another solution. This started happening today.
Extra details:
All the songs are on an external SD card.
iTag and Google music also only listed those 3 songs, but PowerAmp was able to list and play them fine (I downloaded it to see if it wouldn't play those songs).
Unable to record or play recorded videos.
EDIT: I fixed the music problem. As it turns out there was something called a .nomedia file on my SD card. I deleted it, but I still can't record or play recorded videos.

I know...this was posted in the Wizard forum....but I didn't get any responses that worked....
Hi All,
I have a 2GB storage card. I have been playing music just fine for months and then all of a sudden when I try to access the music via the library I get the following error message: An Unexpected Error Has Occurred. I can play the music files when I go through the Explorer program with out a problem.
I searched the forums but all I found was one post that suggested hard reseting. But I'm trying to avoid that since silly me can't recall all the registry tweaks made, how they were made, or even how to get them back. Unfortunatley, job is kicking my a## so hard I don't have time to re-research for a while. Also, the post suggested something being wrong with a files id3 tag. After discovering what that was (end portion of the mp3 file where the data about the audio files is stored like title, artist etc...for those who didn't know) I figure this can't be the problem b/c the music files haven't changed - so they were ok prior too - anyway they play in the Explorer. Also, when I go in WMP, go to menu, and open file, I can play it. Update library works but I still get the same error message when I try to play music. I tried a soft reset - no changes. Tried Google - found quite a few people have had the same problem but no one had a solution.
Thoughts?? Please help got a 2.5 hour flight tomorrow that would be much better with music!!
Thanks!
.....so now only have a 2 hour flight tomorrow....but still want to know!! At this point I will even take another media player that will play my music files. They are from Napster if that makes a difference....aka...I paid for them!
Can't help with the wmp error, but I recommend installing Mortplayer or TCMP as either of these give better sound quality to my ears. Also they will both play music and video files which are on a network share which I can't get wmp to do. They will both resume playing from last position on opening the program. Either one is an improvement on wmp.
Hard Reset Didn't Work
Ok...Hard Reset didn't work and Mortplayer won't play any albums - just the few songs I have in which I only have one for the artist!!
HHEEEELLLPPPP!!!!!
just received 8 gigs sd card...got like 1000+ songs in it but audio manager can only load the first 2 songs only...couldn't load the rest of the songs...window media is ok but i rather play songs with the audio manager..anyone know what is the problem?
Never heard of that before :O Sounds like a weird one. Hope you find a solution.
Have you tried removing the two songs that it DOES load, and see if it loads any other ones?
Different file formats maybe??
all songs are in mp3 format. same formats as the loaded songs. im using duttys rom. weird how it load songs from my 2 gigs but it wont load the songs from the 8 gigs except the first 2 songs....
I'm on a different rom now. But currently some of my songs are not accessible via the album listing, only "All Songs". I find that kinda weird, not that I really care. Still though, don't know why it would only show certain albums, even though all songs have album art and information and are part of an album.. oh well.
I have no more ideas for you
I did some searching, but all the posts appear to be older, and are discussing downloaded players. At work, we all have Droid Xs. My boss, recently reset his, and was working on downloading some video players. We download a lot of xvid files, and he wanted to be able to play them. Well, it appears one of his downloads has updated the built-in player to play xvid. The reason I think this is because after he dumped about 20 videos on there for transport, most...about 16 of them, had thumbnails in the gallery. I tried playing one, and loads directly up, and even has the little HDMI icon in the top corner. I went through the players he downloaded, and none of those appear to have the HDMI option. I've been trying to figure this out so that I can replicate it.
Has anyone else done this? I don't have the phone in front of me, but I know he got arcmedia and youplayer. I'm not sure what else, but I figure you guys may have some ideas.
I guess I've stumped the minds here. Thanks for looking.
UPDATE:
I just checked my phone, and now I'm able to playback one of the files. The strange part is that after seeing it happen on his phone, I copied the same file to mine, and couldn't play it. Gave the usual unsupported error. But today, I look at my phone, and there's a thumbnail of the video in the gallery. I click on it, and it starts playing, with the little HDMI option in the corner. WTF is going on here? I still have one file that won't play that I put on there. Does the built-in player support Xvid with certain options enabled/disabled?
Hi,
somehow honeycomb can't play about half of my music files.
All of them are 128kb/s mp3 files.
Is there any solution to that / does anyone expirience the same?
I've had same issues with some of my mp3 files. All off them with the default music player. The same files however all played fine in PowerAmp.
I wanted to mention that I'm having the same issue. Even if I'm playing an album, some of the songs on the album won't play even though they all came from the same source. And it also groups the unplayable mp3s as 'unknown artist'. It's quite annoying.
I've even tried editing the tag info to make them all the same, but it still wouldn't play those particular songs.
Do you find that some of your albums get mixed?
eg: you upload an album 'S&M' Metallica into one folder and you end up with two albums! 4 in one and 16 in the other

Your ID3 tags are screwed up. Make sure the tag 'Album Artist's is set the same too.

Soughted it thanks, i used http://www.mp3tag.de/en/
I had the same problem, some of my mp3's would give me and error and could not play with any player. It was weird, it would be the same album (coverted by me) and only 2 or 3 song would play. Now since I flashed 3.1 so far so good. The ones that gave me and error, now play fine even with the stock player.

Hello,
I recently upgraded to ICS and am having trouble using Google's Music Player to play my music. Note that I'm trying to play music from my SD card; I have no music uploaded to Google's Music Player. It worked fine in Gingerbread.
For some reason any time I click on a song an error pops up saying "Music Playback Error - unable to play song" or something similar. Not to mention I have duplicate playlists (3 of the same playlist) in my Playlist list.
Anyone know of a fix for this? I like the layout of the default Music Player but should I just switch to another player? Any suggestions?

Work around google play music
I found a work around- not a solution to the issue with the app...but I'm playing my music!
Open a web browser on your phone to music.google.com
When I do that all my music is right there. It plays fine. I guess its what the ipad/ipod/iphone peeps use to creep onto the Google music cloud. Ironic...
-Running a Droid X
I was told to move music to internal. Its running fine so far, but time will tell

Found a solution to my problem
Just wanted to chime in on how I found my fix, although it was for issues playing off the cloud, when I originally copied songs to SD then deleted off.
My Google Music would play music and gave me a playback error message. But I figured it was due to songs that I had originally copied to the external SD, and recently deleted. Playing those songs from the cloud gave me the error, while songs I never copied to SD played just fine.
So my thoughts were that the phone probably still thinks its playing those songs from the SD when it shouldn't because I deleted them.
My solution: turn off data and wifi, set google music to show only what was on device (because it still thinks songs were still stored in the phone), and deleted every single song one-by-one, a tedious process.
Then go manage apps and cleared app cache, uninstalled the app, reboot, reinstall, turn on wifi+data... and voila, those songs are playing off the cloud again.
If that didn't work then I would've factory reset.
I would think that this would work too for songs that were on SD card, but when I had problems with external SD music, I just cleared app cache, unmount SD and reboot.
Hope this helps for anyone else that runs into this problem.
Have u tried using another music app vincom jb mod has no music player I prefer player pro its very nice and has many options compared to stock

Clearing Google Play Music Cache and wiping Data would have been enough.
Solved my problem this way!
Google play error
I have a rooted Asus Nexus 7
I had a problem with Google play music
It would stop playing part way through songs
But I found a solution to the problem
Uninstall the factory installed app with titanium backup
Then go to Google app store and search for google play and reinstall the app
It now works fine for me it has been functioning for 3 days with out problems
As much as google support wanted me to unroot my device or they wouldn't help me with my issue I hope this helps everyone out
A small solution that worked for me.
I just received a error meesgae when I trued to listen to my music on android tablet. I found a solution that worked for me. I removed my SD card and then placed it back into my tablet. Then I went to setting>storage and set storage to SD card. I went back to Google music player to make sure my device was looking for music from the sd card. My music is saved on my device so of course there was no music to be found. Then I went back to storage settings and selected device for storage. Went back to music player there was all music and they all played fine.
