How to view all my music from SD card? - T-Mobile Samsung Galaxy S7 Questions & Answers

I recently added all my music (roughly 90GB of music) to a Sandisk 128 GB Class 10 microSD. I put this microSD into my phone and my music players were unable to locate all the music. I don't know how, but at one point, all my music was finally scrollable. After some tinkering with the ".nomedia" file, all my album artwork showed up in my gallery. I've since then installed QuickPic to deal with that annoyance. However, I have been unable to look at all my music again. The majority of my music are in one big folder with no name, or in Shuttle, every song in it is called "null - null". How can I restore my phone's ability to view my entire library of music?
I've yet to try deleting everything off the card, and then retransferring, but that's a real pain in the butt and I would rather do that as a final option (though I don't know if that would even help).
I have tried deleting my music players' data and uninstalling/reinstalling and restarting my phone and unmounting/mounting my SD card, but still no luck.
Oh, and I am rooted on QF6 Hybrid Nougat ROM.

Sounds like the files are corrupt. To test this plug your phone into your pc and try playing the music with a media player on your pc. If the music plays, then it is not corrupt.
I had a similar issue a while back and it was because my music didn't transfer correctly and some of it wouldn't play.

TouchFLO 3D Music Player won't play MP3s in SD folder

Hello everybody!
I ask for your help, because I tried all possible solutions, but unsuccessfully.
I can't make TF3D music player to play my MP3s on the SD card.
When I had HTC Universal, I had MP3s on the SD in the "MUSICA" folder.
I copied all the folder to the new MicroSD for the Touch Pro.
Inside there are other sub-directories, as MIX, ARTISTS, etc...
The first time I open TF3D music player, it searches for music in the internal memory and in storage card.
They are a lot of files, about 3Gb, so it takes a long time to finish.
When it finishes catalogation, I find the list of all MP3s, someone with the album art.
But when I try to play one, it doesn't start.
Someone starts playing after 10s I pressed the play icon, it plays for 7-8s, then playing stops.
I can't change MP3 file with the up and down arrows near the play icon.
If I open the catalog to select another MP3 on the list, it doesn't select it and it returns to the music player showing still the previous MP3.
I read in some threads to try to stop TF3D and delete the catalog file (AudioManager_Eng.vol).
I did it, the catalog regenerated, but still the same problem.
I tried to rename the folder "MUSICA" in a more stardard "Music" or "My Music" and relaunched a new catalogation, nothing changed.
I tried also to move all files from the sub-folders to the "main" folder "My Music", nothing changed.
I had this problem with the shipped WWE ROM, but also with my actual ROM, a reconstructed ITA ROM.
I noticed that after a hard-reset, without the SD inserted, TF3DMP plays correctly the sample MP3s inside "My Music" in internal storage.
I will try to move some files to "My Music" on the internal storage to see what it happens, but it's not the solution.
I can't copy 3Gb of MP3s in the internal storage!
I saw that people can play MP3s on SD card with no problems with the TF3DMP.
So what's wrong?
I don't know what other tries I can do to try to find where's the problem.
Any idea?
Thanks in advance for your help!
Hi, that means you have something wrong - for htc's music player - with some of the mp3s on your sd card, and that the ones you chose to put in the device's memory are OK.
I have run into the same kind of problem, with a much smaller amount of music, because some of my files didn't have correct meta data (artist / album).
The best way is to try putting the albums one by one and test - or to use another music player. Personally I'm wondering if I'm not goint to switch to pocket music player, less eye candy, no album covers, but no bugs, instead of a library sorting you can chose to play a directory - I didn't find a way in HTC's player to just take the songs of a directory instead of scanning everything, in order to prevent this kind of bug...

WM 6.1 Media Player doesn't load mp3s?

I haven't really used my phone as an MP3 player, but now I have a nice, big SD card in it and have decided to copy some songs over.
When I load up Media Player (I like it. So sue me.) and tell it to update the library, it doesn't see the MP3s I put on the storage card. I tried putting them in the My Documents/My Music folder on the card and I even tried putting them in the same folder as that stupid Dogbark file in the main memory and the library NEVER finds them. Is there a trick to make media player see MP3s or what? I can open the files manually and Media Player will play them just fine.
Edit:
I wanted to mention that, when I do 'Update Library', the phone says it found 40+ files, but the device library only shows 4 files (dogbark, mommy, allouete and ding) and the storage card shows nothing.
Did you switch to Storage Card (Next to the Library button there is a drop down menu)?

[Q] Full music list not showing on sdcard2

Good morning,
I have really ben enjoying my TnT Lite 4.24 g Tab. However, I am having problems accessing all of my music on the sdcard2. I am sure it is user error, so hopefully someone can help me out.
All of my music was synced directly to the card on my Windows 7 laptop through Windows Media Player. All of the music is on the card. I then installed the card into the G Tab and turned it on, giving the G Tab a few minutes to scan the card (I think it does that) I start the Music app, but only a couple albums are avaialble. Why would this be?
Using ES Explorer, I see all the albums are there and can even play the music from ES Explorer, but not the Music app.
Any idea on what I may have one incorrectly getting the music onto the card, or how to fix this?
Thanks or any help!
Mark
I finally gave up storing music on the external sdcard. I have the best luck when I put all of my music and videos on the internal card. And the problems existed with the built in music app, and winamp.
Music Problems too
Hello,
I am also having problems with music files...my albums all show, however, some of the albums have songs appearing from completely different artists/albums...it's as if some index is corrupt or not properly compiled.
I'm running TnT Lite 4.4 and I've copied all of my music to the internal SD card. I've downloaded the WinAmp app and have the same problem as with the stock music player installed with the ROM.
Is there a way to rebuild the index? Or does such a thing exist?
Any ideas?
TIA...

Duplicate Songs in Google Music

I recently started using Google Music. Previously I had all my music files on the internal memory of my INC. I had just copy / pasted them from iTunes but now it looks like Google will sync that music automatically when I download new music to iTunes.
But I noticed quite a number of duplicate songs recently. Is Google placing duplicated songs on the SD Card somewhere? Should I delete the music folder from the internal memory or is it maybe just a fluke for these songs? Doesn't seem to be across the board though.
Google music beta has been pretty buggy so far. As for your duplicated, it might be because your tags don't match between what's in the cloud and what's on your phone. I guess you could remove them from your phone just to see what happens. Worst case is that you have to reload them.
Sent from my HTC Incredible
Use Amazon's cloud and be done with it already.
I had the same issue. Here's what google said:
Albums stored locally on your Android devices may appear more than once
during uploading. After uploading has completed, Music Beta will recognize
and combine these album listings.
If an album is appearing multiple times in your library after uploading
has completed, this is likely because the 'Album Artist' field in the
metadata for your album's listings is either blank or appears differently
for each listing.
To combine these listings, simply edit the 'Album Artist' field so that
it's identical for each album listing. Instructions for editing metadata
can be found in the Music Beta help center at
I had the same issue so I uninstalled the program uploaded all my music and deleted off my sd card and internal memory and have had no issues...but do remember it is still in beta.
OP did you solve the problem or does it still remain?
im seeing kind of the same issue over here, except mine is duplicating songs in playlists in google music. i have 0 gigs of songs on my phone and all the music is coming from the same itunes. It will just put the playlist of songs twice in the playlist. kind of annoying.
i had the same problem with some albums i had on SD card.
all i did erase the albums from card.
I am having the problem were duplicates are showing on the web version of Google Music. I have no duplicate songs in iTunes and they all have the correct metadata. Most of the duplicated songs appear to be ones I purchased or got for free from Google.
I do not want to use Amazon cloud as it's not free.
If you have all the music on your couch with music manager attached, if deleted off Google Music online. Would music resync with music manager?
Ik. randomness
and did you already try with another ROM if the same happens to you?
Bi-Directional syncing is also a huge problem on google music.

HTC M8 can't find music or camera photos on SD card?

I was having no problem playing music through the stock HTC music player and Google music off of the SD card.
Added new albums and they didn't show up.
Made the mistake of clearing the Media Storage data to refresh the music and once I did that I can't get the stock photo or music player to recognize the existing files or the older ones.
Fx file manager sees them fine and I tried JetAudio but it can't find the music either.
any suggestions?
got the photos back but still can't get the music apps to find my albums from the SD card.
am I missing something simple here?
