Leaked Gingerbread SIP Calling Missing/removed by Tmobile - T-Mobile LG G2x

Today as I was getting ready to put my SIP calling settings in my phone so that I can use the built in SIP calling function of gingerbread (I loved using this feature on my Nexus S) and I noticed it is not there. It seems that Tmobile has either removed the feature or locked it. Does anyone know if there is a way to unlock/add the sip calling feature? And yes I know there are apps that do this, but I prefer to use the system integrated SIP calling function.

do any of the roms have the native sip calling features of gingerbread?

The leak is not complete. How can you say it was removed or locked?

Excuse my ignorance but what does it do
G2x with faux AOSP

Fyi it exists on the faux Aosp rom. Use anycut to find it.

[Q] Internet Call in android 2.3 for S5670

Hi Experts,
There was one difference in 2.2 and 2.3 that internet call will be available in android 2.3.3 but this FW for 5670, internet call is not included.
Can anybody tell me other solution or i am planning to switch to HTC wildfire just because of this. [] .
Thanks in andvance.
2.3 includes Voip over SIP accounts. If your ROM does not have that feature, you could install another ROM (cyanogen?) for your device.
Alternatively:
- GrooveIP uses Google Voice to do Voip in US and Canada
- Skype, Google Talk (hacked), and others allow voice and video calling within the service for free and charge for calling out.
I hope that helps. Keep in mind, call quality is dependent on your data/wifi signal and how much time you take tweaking the audio.

Cyanogen Not yet available for s5670 yet. And No custom rom also...
So u better follow Tubes6al4v's Alternatives. That is the only option i think.

Text-To-Speech

Apparently this feature is acting up on other devices but was wondering if anyone had this working on their G2x and if so how did you manage to get it working?

What sort of issues are you having, and what ROM are you using? I had some issues with bluetooth and tts with CM7. I've switched over to EB 2.3.3, and all is working well.
Make sure you have everything you need installed.
Go to settings/voice input & output/text-to-speech settings/
If "Install voice data" isn't grayed out, click on that...it will take you to the market to download the voice engine.
I haven't noticed any problems with my tts, running my current ROM, but I also don't use Pico. I use Svox. It cost around $2-3 for the voice download, but it's much nicer than Pico.
Good Luck.
I'm running stock GB 2.3.3
I was hoping it would read text as they came in similar to the new WP7 Mango update but apparently the framework doesn't support that yet.
It takes me to the market, i download the application but then it uninstalls itself and shows that i have never downloaded the application before. I might install Faux123 rom and see if i can get it to work.

What app are you trying to d/l? I've never really tested out text message readers. I know Handcent will read the text, but IDK if you can set it to read as they come in.
I did test out Vlingo way back, and I must say...it was pretty good. I just don't like that it requires data usage (I'm on a limited data plan). But, for reading texts, Vlingo was pretty awesome. It even understood things like LOL (rather than say L-O-L, it would read it as "laughing out loud"). It even translated WTF, which of course made me laugh like a 12yr old kid.
I'm not downloading any. I was hoping the stock messaging application would do this as i kind of like the layout but sucks as far as security is concerned but that is an android thing.
I'll give the Vlingo a try and see if it works.
Thanks for the help.

[Q] Is there any ROM to do calls with Xoom?

Hey,
I'd like to be able to make calls via GSM network (not via wifi/voip) with my SIM card in my Xoom MZ601 (running a rooted stock ROM 3.2).
I saw some screenshots of some custom ICS ROMs, such as the "code android" ROM which apparently has a feature to do real calls (over GSM) with a Xoom (see pic in attachment).
Now I was wondering:
1) can you really make true GSM calls with "code android" ROM?
2) do other custom ROMs offer this feature too, such as Team EOS?
3) does this even need a ROM at all or will merely an app do the same job on Android 3.2?
I am not certain, but I believe it was harder than just putting the phone.apk on tablet. Your question has been asked before, have a search if you want.
Also, Skype? May seem obvious, but..
it would need cell radios.
try skype/voip/etc.
I don' think it is possible since I heard people say it doesn't have the hardware for it. Though I'm not sure if that's really the issue here. Anyhow from what I heard they have SMS enabled ROMS or mod.
Sms enabled roms?
Do u know which ones?

AOSP and Different Carriers?

Is there any way to get different carriers to work on Verizon-based AOSP ROMs?
Because I know for sure, on Stock-based ROMs, SMS (minus MMS) and Data works fine; but on AOSP ROMs, they lack the functionality to get either or to work.
My experience with CM10, data works, but not SMS sending, receiving works fine.
I currently have a T-Mobile prepaid plan. SMSC is set accordingly, and APN set accordingly.
Any suggestions would be awesome guys! Unless the CM team will implement a fix from the Stock-based ROM to their AOSP ROM.
Also I did some research and I saw this from XDA member veris
From what I understand this is because CM and MIUI lack files for PPP authentication.

There has been a FIX, but not for our S3 yet.

Question Seeking Custom ROM Recommendations with Auto-Answer Feature for Calls

Is there a custom ROM available that includes an auto-answer feature for incoming calls? I've been using MIUI, but it doesn't always answer calls automatically despite enabling the 'always' option and the option for automatic answering with headphones. I recently tried Evolution X, which I like for its lightweight nature, but it doesn't have the auto-answer feature. Can anyone recommend a ROM with this functionality? Additionally, I'm curious to know if every Pixel ROM includes the auto-answer feature or if there are specific ROMs that offer it. I really need this feature, please help
Would you really need a custom ROM for that?
Can't you just use a different caller app that includes this feature?

i have already tried using different caller apps like MotoAnswer, but they have limitations such as restricting the number of calls that can be automatically answered in a day. (It is not enough for me because sometimes the call is closed by mistake. understand what I mean)

you should be looking for apps that don't have that limitation instead, this is not a ROM side thing I think. have you tried Truecaller Assistant?
