His there any way to root this device?
Don't know if the fact of being a dual sim device with modified ROM will be a problem to root. I'm afraid of bricking the device.
Thanks in advance

Android Star A5000+: Speed and sensores...
Hi All,
I ordered an Android Star A5000+, dual-sim, capacitive screen, from "Fast********" and so far it's been working OK.
Still, I find the phone to be slow and some sensors are identified but don't seem to work. Reported Ram and Rom is also not what is publicised by the seller:
--Cpu is featured to be a MTK6516 460MHz+280MHz: All system apps I have tried report a CPU speed of 207,66 Mhz. The advertised speed is obviously wrong and misleading...!
--Sensor apps report and identify the existance of 5 sensores: Orientation sensor, 3-axis Magnetic Field, 3-Axis Accelerometer, Proximity sensor and Light sensor. The following sensors do not seem to be working or are not activated: 3-axis Magnetic Field, Proximity sensor and Light sensor.
The phone is unrooted. Can anyone recommend some apps/programmes to safely root this phone and to overclock the MTK cpu?
The Proximity sensor and Light sensor would also be usefull to me. I don't know if I can 'activate' them by rooting the phone... Anyone know of a solution?
Thanks in advance.

Quite sad to say that this unit and similar doesn't have the other sensor. It only have the accelerometer. No Magnetic Sensor, no light sensor, and proximity. i think these features are only available on brand phones. China is taking it out to save cost and make the device more affordable to end users.
I used gingerbreak v1.2 and it worked just fine, then using that i uninstalled all crapware of it
Hi, I am not a expert for android phone and wont to ask you for help please.
I buy android phone name PengDa™ A5000 (capacitive screen) and I think is same like Star A5000. It is Android OS v2.2.1 it have evreything like star A5000 except speed of CPU. My CPU is MT6516 E1K, ARM926Ej-S rev 5 and speed on my phone is 207,66MHz. Now I read that Star a5000 with same CPU MTK6516 run on 416MHz Frequency.
I read on forum that is on some way kernel is important for change cpu speed. I root my phone with Z4root app.
My question is:
1. Is it posible to change kernel from Star a5000 to my PengDa™ A5000 and get this cpu speed 416MHz and how
2 I found rom in first page of A5000 and I ask can I use some files from this rom and change with my with root explorer to get speed 416MHz

The battery life last the usual time.
It all depends how many services you have connected.
So if you use the 3G network, Wifi and GPS all day, it will last 24h.
Otherwise, if you don't use them that much it can last 2 full days, maybe 2 days and a half.
The phone itself is good. Having a quad core phone with 1gb ram just for $199.99 is not for everyone.
The phone is very fast and the display has a nice quality (great resolution).
Some parts could be better, like the wifi and gps antenna. The wi-fi antenna doesn't have the range as it should be..but it is ok.
The phone definitely worth its price.
The factory only produced 200 for the first batch. And they are already almost sold. So if you could buy one you can consider yourself a lucky person.
So it all depends how do you use the phone and how often.
The main battery draining responsible is the huge display it has.
Capacitative buttons?
I was considering getting this phone but am curious to know if it has full home, back, menu buttons, it looks like it just has one.

I'm still waiting on my i9 to arrive but I have a ZP950+ that only has one hard button similar to i9. With the large display I find that the soft buttons don't take up much screen real estate and I rarely use the hard button.
Any updates about the phone?

My arrives within 8 days ...

I received my I9 a few days ago and it came installed with Android 4.2.2 but it was difficult to use with just the back button so I installed "I9-XUNI-0410v5ok" 4.2.1 version from http://bbs.ydss.cn. This has the virtual soft keys and is much nicer to use.
Everything is working great except for 3G data. Unfortunately I didn't check this on the original version and I've somehow deleted the backup I made. If anyone has a link to the 4.2.2 software I'd appreciate it.
I've tried a few roms now and the bands available for GSM and UMTS have been different so I guess it's a firmware issue. I need to be able to use WCDMA-GSM-900 to get 3G and faster data. If anyone knows how the available bands are set please let me know. The engineer mode has the one I need greyed out.
Apart from the above issues this is a very nice phone and is better value (~$80 cheaper) I think than the ZP950+ that I also have.

Great to hear from someone who has got one, can I ask how is the GPS reception and general WIFI/mobile signal strength? The MTK6577 phones had problems is the 6589 any better?
Thanks
Si
GPS is really quick once it's setup to use EPO and GPS-A. Just yesterday I was surprised that it locked onto 8 satellites in 11 seconds indoors. WIFI/mobile signal strength are same or better than other phones I have(or had). I've never had a 6577 phone so I can't compare.
Did anyone buy their I9 from goophone.hk? If so could you please register on http://bbs.goophone.hk/ and register your phone on there and download the latest I9 4.2.2 software.
You may need to use Google translate but it's on this page: http://bbs.goophone.hk/forum.php?mod=viewthread&tid=6345&extra=page%3D1%26filter%3Dtypeid%26typeid%3D65%26typeid%3D65

I don't know of any non-chinese recovery for this phone as yet but it's not too difficult to use if you are familiar with CWM.

Virtual soft buttons
I received my goophone i9 yesterday and everything seems great so far. I'm just looking for a step by step guide to install the virtual soft keys. This is my first android phone and didn't even realise they were missing untill a friend asked me about them
Does anyone here have this phone? I am really interested in it and even ordered it until Gizchina said it has a very weak wifi antenna. I am wondering if this was just his review model or a general prob with the phone. On their official forums (chinese) I found 1 thread complaining about the same thing but other than that no other reports (at least waht I can tell from google translate translation).

So far, same roms are released for XYZ X1 and Cubot GT99. Personally, I think that you could use nearly every kind of ROM for MTK-6589-based china phones with the same hardware resolution, because they are alle the same.

Anyone out there who knows what E-compass is, how useable it is, and if it is a full replacement for "normal" GPS?

I have the PiPO M6, and I tell you it does not have a GPS, or anything assimilated in. E-compass would be an electronic compass.
If you want to use the tablet as a navigation device, I'd suggest installing an app such as Bluetooth GPS and connecting to an external source of GPS data to which you can connect to using BT. You can use your smartphone's GPS for example, or get a dedicated unit such as the Royaltek GPS that you can find for about $35

Fast and smooth in launcher app, Sometimes some lag when i have too many apps open. Browsing with Chrome can be somewhat laggy, but I understand Dolphin does a better job. The screen is excellent, with good colours!
No regrets with this tablet - the build quality is good, the screen is great and PiPO seems to be willing to maintain it for the moment being with regular firmware updates. What I'm looking forward to is an update with the RK3188 SDK 2.0 which is supposed to bring substantial benefits.
It looks as though a firmware incorporating the SDK 2.0 has been made available Will test and get back

You need an app that reads the GPS data on your Nexus 7 and makes it available through BT such as GP2 to Bluetooth https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.cajax.gps2bt2
On your tablet you need a provider that can connect to you phone once you've paired the two, with "mock locations" enabled, for example https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.turboirc.bgp.v1
Then on your tablet you need an navigation app such as MapFactor: GPS Navigation (you can download the maps to your tablet before going on the road)

Use this to root ANY 4.2.2 RK3188 device.
Make sure your system has ADB drivers installed correctly (you can use the installer from adbdriver.com).

I want it.
Already someone has this phone?
I am ordering right now at bangood.com for 132 usd + free shipping.
My comunication with official leagoo pre-sale ([email protected]):
Hello, is possible to update rom at home (OTA or download) in your Leagoo Elite 5, to fix bugs and problems?
Is phone rooted?
Do you sell and how much cost digitizer or display + digitizer for this model?
To update you need flash your system .
What is the problem for your screen please ?
Hello,
thanks for answer.
I want to buy your phone. Right now I have no problem, I just wanted to know how it will solved.
Because I broke digitizer at my previous Jiayu G4 and producers were not willing to sell any replacement part.
Jiayu also dos not updates ROM, so I had to use alternative ROM because of some bugs and problems.
Also my pre-previous phone HTC had software problems and when they released a new rom, there were new problems. For example, after the last update opening messages needs 40s. Before update works messages well.
Thats why Im asking.
1) Im interested how often do you release updates (fixing bugs).
2) Its possible to buy spare parts, exactly digitizer and lcd which is most often broken.
Our update time is not setted to one time ,engineer will do update once here is bugs .
Yes our accessory may be selling online after a while of phone's sale, you can buy online or send the phone to us for repair .
Ok thank for answer.
I dont mean accessory (battery, charger) but parts (display, speaker). Are you selling parts?
Is your phone rooted?
For the parts which you cannot find online you can contact us .
LEAGOO phones comes with android system ,NO root.
I think Leagoo Elite 1 better than Leagoo Elite 5.
Do you have it? Im interested in stability of original rom, is it freezing, crashing, rebooting?
Specification looks good, more RAM and ROM, more cores, gorilla glass, ...
But Elite 1 has 2400 mAh battery and 1920*1080 px screen. This could by deathly combination for battery life.
I have this phone and it is absolutely amazing, especially seeing the price. No crashes, no freezes, nice UI and modified android os. The only problem I have with this phone is the fact that at the moment it seems to be totally unrootable. I've tried nearly every android and pc app and nothing works.

I have this phone and it is absolutely amazing, especially seeing the price. No crashes, no freezes, nice UI and modified android os. The only problem I have with this phone is the fact that at the moment it seems to be totally unrootable. I've tried nearly every android and pc app and nothing works.

Hi, can you please share some pictures taken from the camera?
Curious to see how well the sony sensor is utilized on this phone
Also, can you check if xposed works on the leagoo rom once you've got twrp installed?
How's the battery life so far and what's the longest SOT yet? Apparently the geekbench battery score for elite 5 is almost 14 hours.

I don't know what xposed it, but I'll see if I can check it out at a later date.
Battery life seems to be pretty darn good. I'm on 83% battery life at the moment, sitting idle and DU Battery Saver Pro is indicating I should have about 10h40 left, 60h if I switch to airplane mode. I have managed to get DU Battery Saver to say I'd have over 120h of battery life on airplane mode when I'm on a full charge.
As for pictures:

Thanks, but can you also post the uncompressed pictures as well?
You haven't try xposed yet? Oh you're gonna love it
It basically allows to customize your stock ROM without having to flash a different ROM
For example you can use these popular xposed tweaks
Youtubeadaway - Just like the in name, blocks ads on YouTube app permanently
Gravitybox - You can customize everything from statusbar, lockscreen, power menu and others.
Starting with lollipop, you'll need to flash framework zip file with your custom recovery. If your device boots normally after flashing it, then congratz, xposed is compatible. If not, your device gets stuck in a bootloop.
Which is why you'll need to make a backup of your ROM with twrp if something happens.
Hi there,
I have running my S6 SM-G620F with ROM: (ZEROFLTEXX) [LINEAGEOS 17.1]
One issue is that the orientation sensor is not calibrate and when I start the compass app North is never the same direction and wrong.
What is the process to calibrate the sensors with this ROM? Is there something like *#0*# in stock ?
Thanks
After 1 week and more than 100 views, nobody has the answer to my question.
Should I conclude than I am the only one who want to use sensors? Nobody uses compass, level, weather, ...
Could some S6 users tell me if they have issue with sensors?
What app do you use that use sensors?
Thanks
I don't have any issues with compass in my g920i .
Thanks santhosh ravi,
Maybe mine is faulty. I'd like to test,
Question: Is there secret codes with LineageOS like here ?
