Hi there,
I have running my S6 SM-G620F with ROM: (ZEROFLTEXX) [LINEAGEOS 17.1]
One issue is that the orientation sensor is not calibrate and when I start the compass app North is never the same direction and wrong.
What is the process to calibrate the sensors with this ROM? Is there something like *#0*# in stock ?
Thanks
After 1 week and more than 100 views, nobody has the answer to my question.
Should I conclude than I am the only one who want to use sensors? Nobody uses compass, level, weather, ...
Could some S6 users tell me if they have issue with sensors?
What app do you use that use sensors?
Thanks
I don't have any issues with compass in my g920i .
Thanks santhosh ravi,
Maybe mine is faulty. I'd like to test,
Question: Is there secret codes with LineageOS like here ?

Android Star A5000+: Speed and sensores...
Hi All,
I ordered an Android Star A5000+, dual-sim, capacitive screen, from "Fast********" and so far it's been working OK.
Still, I find the phone to be slow and some sensors are identified but don't seem to work. Reported Ram and Rom is also not what is publicised by the seller:
--Cpu is featured to be a MTK6516 460MHz+280MHz: All system apps I have tried report a CPU speed of 207,66 Mhz. The advertised speed is obviously wrong and misleading...!
--Sensor apps report and identify the existance of 5 sensores: Orientation sensor, 3-axis Magnetic Field, 3-Axis Accelerometer, Proximity sensor and Light sensor. The following sensors do not seem to be working or are not activated: 3-axis Magnetic Field, Proximity sensor and Light sensor.
The phone is unrooted. Can anyone recommend some apps/programmes to safely root this phone and to overclock the MTK cpu?
The Proximity sensor and Light sensor would also be usefull to me. I don't know if I can 'activate' them by rooting the phone... Anyone know of a solution?
Thanks in advance.

Quite sad to say that this unit and similar doesn't have the other sensor. It only have the accelerometer. No Magnetic Sensor, no light sensor, and proximity. i think these features are only available on brand phones. China is taking it out to save cost and make the device more affordable to end users.
I used gingerbreak v1.2 and it worked just fine, then using that i uninstalled all crapware of it
Hi, I am not a expert for android phone and wont to ask you for help please.
I buy android phone name PengDa™ A5000 (capacitive screen) and I think is same like Star A5000. It is Android OS v2.2.1 it have evreything like star A5000 except speed of CPU. My CPU is MT6516 E1K, ARM926Ej-S rev 5 and speed on my phone is 207,66MHz. Now I read that Star a5000 with same CPU MTK6516 run on 416MHz Frequency.
I read on forum that is on some way kernel is important for change cpu speed. I root my phone with Z4root app.
My question is:
1. Is it posible to change kernel from Star a5000 to my PengDa™ A5000 and get this cpu speed 416MHz and how
2 I found rom in first page of A5000 and I ask can I use some files from this rom and change with my with root explorer to get speed 416MHz
3. Is it posible on any way get this cpu speed (416MHz) on my phone because is the same CPU and same phone
My phone PengDa™ A5000 I buy from:

Are this files for the resistive or capacitive A5000?
Hi, I recently purchased a Nexus S off eBay that was listed as broken because of the odd call behavior a broken proximity sensor causes. I figured it would be an easy fix, but I am having no luck at all finding any method of disabling the proximity sensor for the Nexus S. Many HTC phones apparently have this issue more commonly, and there are many threads of their proximity sensor issues, but none of the fixes offered there are applicable to the Nexus S. I've searched the forum, google, and the Cyanogenmod settings throughly looking for any sort of disable option, but have found nothing. Any help answering this question would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.
Nobody? I've poked around looking for the driver directory to remove it, but it doesn't appear to be in a similar location to HTC phones.

I mostly use MIUI nowadays, so I'm not too sure about any other ROMs, but if you're willing to use it, MIUI has a setting for disabling proximity sensor for calls (under Settings>Programs>Call>Answer Settings)

Thanks for the reply. I'm sad to see Cyanogenmod doesn't have this setting... I've read this elsewhere but really don't feel like switching to MIUI. Looks like I might not have much of a choice if I want to actually use my phone as a phone, though . Thanks again.
CM7 has the ability to disable the sensor as well

i9020 include barometer
i9023 not include barometer
I don't understand this.
Say what?
How does one access that sensor? Anyone know a good app?
Edit: Found an app for it https://market.android.com/details?id=com.fivasim.androsensor
it's says it should be able to use the Barometer but nothing is showing up
They may not have included code for it in roms or something. I've seen where devs left out phone functionality for simplicity sake. If they include the barometer then people would have questions. If you install a stock ROM does it work? If not, samsung or google did not include support for it. What's the point of having a barometer in a phone? Is it going to sound an alarm for you if pressure drops suddenly?

Hi all,
Per specs on the official Samsung Website compass feature is not present, however it is present on Gear S.
Is hard to believe that it doesn't have compass. Can someone confirm?
Thanks,

Nope, no compass.
Further, only the 3G version has a GPS sensor.
I have 3G and it does have gps, also is there any way that when changing to another rom i dont have to do a factory reset every time?

Apologies for being so dense -- there's no compass app on my 3G stock. Was there one on yours? If not, would you mind telling us the name of the app in the app store?
Thanks!

Nope, and it's a glaring omission when there are boilerplate SOC devices providing GPS, accelerometer, compass, gyro, all in one.
Heck, the chip they used may even have a compass, they just didn't implement the driver. I doubt it, but it's certain a possibility. Having a root solution for the watch would open up investigating this.
the reason the S2 doesn't have a compass (or it's deactivated) is the magnetic mounting solution for the charger. If you put a (fairly strong) magnet right next to the magnetometer/compass sensor, it won't provide any useful data anyway.
I installed Compass GPS from the store. It works only when you moving. Hope the next gears will got magnetic sensor finally.
I've been trying to find an app that uses the built in heart rate sensor from galaxy s7 and couldn't find any. I don't want to use SHealth that does a lot more.
Does anyone know an app that uses the s7 heart rate sensor? (if it exists)

You can always install an heart rate monitor from the playstore which uses the camera to get your pulse. But it might not be as accurate as the built in S health and as far as I know, samsung isn't very developer friendly so there might never be a third party app which will be able to use the built in monitor.

Well, things have changed since the s6 came out. Developing for this phone is almost impossible because the snapdragon version bootloader is locked down and exynos one is a closed source.
There is difference between the build in sensor on S7 and any other mobile using the flash???? I mean , S7 uses a special "device" to do it?

Sure there is. This kind of sensor is optimized to read the skin color and detects a pulse.

It's most different because S7's sensor uses red laser instead flash.

Hey, if this is any help for your cause. The S7's heart rate monitor is a Maxim Integrated MAX86902 (From the Specifications PDF that I found online) "The module
communicates through a standard I²C -Compatible interface."

What a great app! It's a life saver! I thought my note 4 heart rate sensor was dead as shealth reads once after reboot or sometimes won't read at all even after I flashed stock firmware. Then I started searching the internet for a better alternative.
This app is awesome and consistent with readings. To my surprise the heart rate sensor now turns on read light even before I put my finger unlike Shealth.
Thanks for the app!
I'll keep sharing the story
Even tho this thread is a bit old, I feel your pain and wanted to take advantage of the built in sensor without using Samsung's bloated app.
I jist found this during a search and using the Galaxy S9+ and can verify that it does use the sensor and quite accurately also.

Also, gives It a body sensor permission.
First off thanks to OP for starting this thread. Sadly the S Health app on my S7 recently updated with requirements to make phone calls and access my contacts. I had been using the S Health app since my S4. Still such demands are a bit much for me. So finding this thread is awesome.
