[Q] Bluetooth issues with Inspire 4G - HTC Inspire 4G

I've been with T-Mo for the last 6 years and I just switched from T-Mobile and the HD2 to AT&T and the Inspire 4G due to the internet service going from great to virtually non-existent in the last 6 months on T-Mo....
I love the Inspire but I am extremely annoyed with the fact the Bluetooth wont connect to my almost new Sony Vaio Laptop with built in bluetooth, or anything else for that matter... It says it is "Paired" but I can't send or receive anything via Bluetooth.
Would somebody be so kind to help me fix this thing... I've called AT&T, HTC and Sony and nobody seems to be able to help me get it fixed.
Thank you...

HTC EVO 4G In Australia

Hi All,
I have been researching the new HTC EVO 4G, and i love it. I have been an iPhone suck in the past and have finally realised why apple should stick to making things looks nice rather than function well.
I have been reading that the HTC EVO runs on the CDMA network which Australia had turned off in 2006,
Is there any modification that can be made for this brilliant phone to work in Australia.
If so please inform me as i will be buying one asap.
Thanks in advance
Hey, I don't believe there is anything you can do as you would have to replace the radio on the phone and associated firmware. Another down side to using the evo in australia is the is no 4g service available.
Technically (I think) it should work with Vivid Wireless which is a new WiMax provider. They are only in Perth at the moment, but are due to launch over east very soon.
The problem though is that Vivid is only an internet provider. If you wanted voice calls you would need to use their VoIP service (or someone elses).

Radio intermitent/bad/none signal

Hi,
I got my Inspire and rooted,s-off, etc.
But I have signal only by a few moments and gone, when it returns is so weak and then goes away, this happened same even before rooting,s-off, etc.
I know it´s not the zone where I am located as I have an HD" behind and it has great signal.
Have tested with
stock and with 12.28b.60 both same result
Using RCMiX v3.4
EDIT: have tested all radios available from the DHD and still the same...
Any recommendation is welcome
Thanks,
Nobody?
Wow, I gues I shoudl send PM to Chefs as everyone in here is as noob as me on Inspire...
ATT's network sucks...it's built to provide the most service on major highways/populated areas, so service has never been great for me. If it's actually dropping completely often, and was doing this before you rooted, you might have got a bad device, in which case taking it back for a new one should solve your problem. Have you tried flashing a different radio to see if this improves anything?
Thanks for your reply, as stated above yes, I have tested all available radios (strange they are from DHD and not from Inspire)
I am not using the device on at&t network, I am using it on México, where I have tested several other at&t devices and always worked fine...
Well the quest for a good radio continues.
Anyone else want to contribute? I am sure I´m not the only one having this issues
Thanks,
I had a similar problem with my old one...it happened on march 1st out the blue... I think ATT fried the radio or antenna when they were doin there upgrades...
Took it back got a new on... it works good.. jumps from 3G to H when it does data transfer
Sent from my Inspire 4G
Thanks, that is not my case (I hope) and if it was I am fried because I can´t send it back
Any other comments?
Solutions?
Any light?
Please!
Thanks,
Solved!
Problem solved changing to a newer SIM card!

I have the same problem with my Inspire. I bought it just a week ago. I bought it from Amazon for $69 with a plan renewal. After a few days my sons had to call me on my wife's iPhone 4 because they couldn't get through to mine. I checked it and it had zero bars. The iPhone had two bars. I began to notice dropped calls and a weak signal when compared to other phones near me. Also the speaker was very low and garbly. I called Amazon and they said to check with ATT about signal strength before sending it back. ATT said they couldn't tell what was wrong with it but sent me for a new SIM card for free. The store installed a new 4G card that they said this phone takes but the signal is still weak. I called HTC last night and they said to hard reset and if that doesn't work then the phone is bad. Well, it didn't work. Amazon is sending me a new one. If that one doesn't work either I will go to the iPhone 4. More later.

[Q] 4g bluetooth from Bionic?

Hello all, I am curious if someone might be able to answer and maybe solve my bluetooth tether in 4g.
My xoom is currently on Moray 2.2.1..It is a verizon 3g(no data plan).I was connecting bluetooth through my moto droid x for months. Well, got a Bionic the other day and when I tested to see if the bionic would share date thru bluetooth it worked...I was happy. Well, I tried to connect today out of my area and it wouldn't connect for the live of me...when I got back home and tried it again it worked. Thats when it hit me. My xoom isn't connect to my bluetoothed data while in town cause it was in a 4g area...as soon as it goes 3g it connects...
okay, so enough with the long story..here's the question:
When paired and connected between xoom and bionic, does the xoom literally use the 3g signal through the radiol? Or is it just connecting through software?
And if It is software, can I flash the lte radio software image from the HLK75 build that has been posted?
I wasn't planning on getting the 4g radio hardware upgrade, but if it uses the radio, looks like i'll have to..
Thanks in advanced.

4G Data Drops

I finally got someone at Verizon to admit that the 4G dropping issue is at the top of the known issue list. Each time I have gone in the store I have been met with 'surprise' that this is an issue. Invariably they have tried to replace my SIM card or phone none of which has worked. The notes on this issue that the phone support person had were rather disturbing.
The first one indicated that this was a known, accepted issue and that the phone was working as intended. Ack!
The second note said that the vendor was working on the issue...IE HTC.
So...onto HTC I go...
The HTC rep also admitted knowing about the problem. He said they were working on a software update to correct this. This of course led to discussion about ICS. According to the HTC rep I spoke with the update has NOT officially been cancelled at this point. He could not say whether or not the fix for the 4G drops they were working involved ICS, but did seem to indicate it might. As usual no remote ETA as to the fix.
Truthfully I could care less about ICS...I would just to have dependable 4G that didn't drop every time I try to use GPS to get home from work, stream music for my kids, or check Facebook.

I just got a new sim and so far so good. What rom and radio are you on? Radio's tend to be a big factor in data dropping.

Yeah if I run twisted build my 4g will drop but if I use let's say skyraider I have no data drops where ever I go. Many times you need to find the right radio for the rom you use.

Well...I have tried the .19, the .9 and the leaked ICS radios when I tried the ICS builds. I actually don't know about the leaked radios as I had too many other issues with ICS at this point for me to use regularly...but the .9 and the .19 both give me pretty regular 4G drops. I just dropped back to the .3 radio this morning to see if that helps.
Thanks for chiming in. Maybe I should try another SIM card...only replaced that once...have replaced the phone 3 times now. I spoke with Verizon AGAIN yesterday and was basically told what did I expect with a two year old phone. I guess they expect you to have to buy a new phone every two years to keep them working. Freaking consumer society.
A level 2 tech told me that the drops are also related to the fact that the 4g network isn't fully implemented. What we get most the time is a 4g extension that was put in place to expand the network faster. They also told me that the parts of the network that are a 4g extension get only half the speed of a fully implemented area. The suggestion I was given was just disable 4g when I'm in areas that have spotty coverage which actually helps. The problem seems to show itself on the hand off between 3g and 4g. Almost like the phone gets confused on which network it should be on.

I think I am in a crappy 4g zone. But now you make me wonder about that...
I'm in an area with solid 4G coverage (I use an LG Revolution). I just installed a ROM on my brother's Thunderbolt for the first time last night, largely prompted by his phone being stuck on 1X regardless of where he is. Sadly, it didn't seem to help, even with trying to flash a few radios. His friend also has a Thunderbolt, and his has no connection problems in the same area. Who knows.

Is the Link+ an alternative to Wifi-Calling?

I have a weak cellphone signal in my area and would like to use the Wifi-calling feature which can help me use wifi network to relay the cellphone signal (didn't buy any 4G plan but on 2/3G). As this phone doesn't have Wifi-calling enabled (at least for T-mobile in US), I wonder if the Link+ works as wifi-calling should do? I haven't gotten my nano-SIM card yet and hence cannot test it. Thanks.
Hi Guys, I am T-mobile user and switch to Honor 8 from Motorola Nexus 6 about three months back and after use around week felt that this is the best Phone ever better than iPhone 6S. After few days used this phone found that it's doesn't have WiFi calling feature which does have on Nexus 6 because at my work place very barely T-mobile signals reach. Try to find some blogs and got that will get this feature in next update vEMUI 5.0 with Android 7.0 which i got recently few days back. but still this feature doesn't show up or working at all. now I am feeling like this is the wrong choise coz it not supporting WiFi calling which normally most smartphones does support.
Huwai Team please address this and let us know if any fix is available to overcome this.
