[Q] Wierd happenings - T-Mobile LG G2x

Has anyone else noticed either one of these happening with their G2X? Mine randomly shows in the status bar that there is a wired headset connected. Also when using "2G Networks Only" the signal drops out very often. I can stand in one spot where my 2g signal dropped out, switch it to 4g and get immediate reception. This is kinda pissing me off because i use 2g more often at work when I'm not using data for anything other than texts and g talk so as to save battery. Any info reported back will be greatly appreciated. Thank you all in advance!
Ok so this is really starting to aggravate me. The wired headset icon randomly appears in the status bar now, especially when using the phone for a little while. Just had it come on while i was on a phone call. Has anyone else had this happen to them. Please help a guy out with your findings?

Bump. Your input please?

I think you're the first to report this one, I've never seen it mentioned before. I'd trying actually playing with some hard-wired headphones to see if the phone recognizes their presence accurately. If it doesn't I'd guess hardware. What happens if while the wired headphone icon is showing you connect it to a Bluetooth headset? All else fails, see if it happens again after a reset and if it does that would confirm it's hardware.

I actually did plug in headphones today and they worked. I know that shocked me too . I have not tried to connect BT or anything else when it happens so i guess thats next. I'm open for any suggestions, cuz i really dont want to play the swap game but if I have to.......

Getting rid of that speaker interference from your cell phone

Hey guys,
Here's a solution to a problem I've been researching for quite some time now. It's about time. Works flawlessly.
If you ever have your cell phone near your computer speakers or any other speakers, it makes them go "dit dit dit---diiit---dit" or "buzzzzz" and it becomes extremely annoying. Usually happens with AT&T / Cingular / Bell, GSM carriers, etc.
http://www.metacafe.com/w/1132063/
Finally some peace and quiet and making it safe for my cell phone to be near my computer. Just thought I share it with anyone that may be experiencing the same problem---its such a relief!! Does anyone know why this actually works? I'm kinda interested.

Intermittent radio/GPS dropouts

Have had my One S (black) since a week now.
On few occasions so far, I've noticed intermittent radio drop outs. The phone suddenly looses network (3G/2G) reception for certain amount of time (5-10 minutes). Along with that, GPS reception is also stopped.
This has happened couple of times so far, both times when using GPS-intensive application like GPS Status or Blitzer.de running in the foreground.
Flipping Airplane mode (on/off) will remedy the situation.
Anyone else experiencing something similar? Apart from this issue, the phone is working flawlessly.
Thanks,
G.
Yes i'm having this problem. Getting my phone replaced so hoping its a dodgy phone.
I even did a factory reset incase it was an app i'd installed causing the issue.
Thanks. Let me know if the replacement will work better.
Also, if you have found a way to replicate this, so I can show it at the shop, please let me know.
As for others - can anyone share their experience using apps like GPS status, Google Navigation, etc... and possible drop-outs using them?
Thanks,
g.

Mine doesn't seem to be GPS related so there is still a chance it could be my network playing up and not the phone (although I did ring and ask, and they said all was fine). Im in Manchester new and i'm having issues, back on the Wirral last weekend it was 100% fine. I will monitor the situation.
i hope it is a dodgy phone, Im receiving mine any time now... As a replacement for my Sensation which suffered terrible signal / wifi issues due to the antenna design..
I really hope its not the same on this phone, I will be gutted !

Any news on this I am using Waze as a sat nav and have noticed that I am getting gps drop outs whilst using it ?
Ben
Just finished a call with the customer-satisfaction team in HTC Europe.
I left them poor feedback after several email support sessions about this networking issue (signal drop, signal switching 3G/H, WiFi issues + BT + GPS) and they called me to check why.
I repeated the details already spread here in the forum and was advised to do a factory reset.
I mentioned the fact that several users have already tried that with no success so she proposed me to send it back for repair.
She couldn't let me know when an OTA will be sent.
It seems as if they either play "stupid" or really don't know anything.

[Q] WiFi Connection Drops When Holding Phone

Hi,
Does anyone else suffer from the following problem:
My WiFi connection always briefly disconnects if I am holding the phone. This only appears to mainly occur (or becomes more noticeable) whilst doing something such as a video call.
Example: I start a video call with the phone on a surface. After a while I go to hold the phone in my hand, give or take a few seconds, the call will then be disconnected due to Network Connectivity Issues.
My WiFi signal bar will have no bars and the letter "E" along with a red "stop" type sign comes up in red for a few seconds, and then I get full WiFi signal again. The call then reconnects, and the process will keep repeating itself unless I stop holding my phone!
As I say, if I don't hold my phone, voice or video calls over WiFi work perfectly fine. EDIT: Actually, still occasionally occurs if on a surface too.
I also have similar issues with normal phone signal. Just holding the phone I can go from full signal down to "emergency calls only". But this isn't too much of a issue as it is with WiFi.
I'm hoping this is just a fault, but it would seem strange if so because everything works great IF I don't hold my phone - not too good really!
Any suggestions or help would be great.
Thanks!
I have the same issue. I can be standing in the same room as my router, and if I put my phone in my pocket and pull it out it will have disconnected from my network. Same issue with the cell network. I have T-Mobile and where I live, I can barely get 1 bar of 3G. I'm on edge most of the time. But the signal will drop off to where the phone will state I can only make emergency calls.

Well it's good (and not good) that someone else is suffering from the same issues as me I guess.
Would appear the best option for me is to return for a full refund. I will get onto Motorola though to see what they say about it. It's a brilliant phone besides this, but obviously it's a massive problem for me to live with.
I'm not sure whether to chance trying to get a replacement and seeing how that behaves. Anyone else having similar problems?
Well, i just saw this a few minutes ago, the wi-fi just drops from full to low, the wireless card is cheap i guess, my razr i didn' sufer with this, this happens when i hold in landscape mode only, this is sad.

[Q] Connection goes up and down after replacing screen

Hi everyone,
I have recently cracked my screen and replaced it myself using youtube tutorials. I have (somehow) completed the task although I had many problems with the two side cables (black and white antenna cables, I hope you know what I mean as I don't know their proper names). Specifically, I wasn't able to slide them down the channels intended for that and at the same time I wasn't able to connect them properly in the jacks were they need to be plugged in. I thought I have somehow did it but it seems I did not do it properly as I do have frequent ups and downs with the network signal, I lose it constantly in places where I used to have full network signal and I can't reach LTE at all, there's no connection at all when switched to LTE. There's signal only when 3G is ticked in settings and internet signal remains to E, rarely if ever moves to H.
At the same time, Wi-Fi is good although I feel it worked better previously, but that can only be my imagination working.
So, I think it has something to do with those cables, as those were my main issue during reassembly. Is there any advice anyone can give me. They don't seem broken, but I can't fit them in the channels and in the jacks properly. Would it work if I put something like a sticky paper in the channels to hold the cables down. Also, is there any trick for connecting them in the jacks or I just need to be precise?
Or, is the problem something completely different?
Any advice would be much appreciated as my phone is rather new and I absolutely love it.
Thanks in advance
Those mini-coaxial sockets can be a bit harder to push in at times - just get a pair of good quality tweezers , get a good grip on the connector and push it down with some other tool. I can guarantee it is going to go in . If they don't make good contact you are either going to get intermitent network , or a very week network signal .

Help identifying indicator icon

My phone has had random vibrations lately (Note 5) and I think I've narrowed it down to something with the connection to my Gear S2. Everytime I feel the random vibration on my phone, my gear s2 turns on and has this indicator at the very top. It looks like a small watch. I couldn't find the indicator in the manual so I'm hoping someone here knows and can help me!
If I catch it quick enough, I think I see it connecting to WIFI, so I'm thinking it's my bluetooth breaking down. Is there a fix for this? Should I disable the remote WIFI connection?
I've included a pic of the indicator icon.
Mine does that every time it goes into standalone. I have the s2 3g. If I lose bluetooth it falls back on remote connect.

does it happen often to you? Seems like there is no rhyme of reason to it. I think I notice it more when my phone is connected to wifi at home, but I think I've noticed it at other times too. Wondering if turning off the remote connection would help. I hear the Note 5 has bluetooth issues too, but it works fine in my car and with headphones at the gym, so I think it's something going on with the gear s2
def confirmed it's my bluetooth disconnecting. Quite annoying. Any fixes for this yet?
It did, but since I've changed roms I've noticed it less. Maybe once a day now.
