um there already "live" widgets. every widget is inherently live, otherwise its just an icon. what specifically are you looking for
how about some live app shortcuts... to use with Desktop Visualizer etc.

There is a company that is working on some impressive stuff like what you are talking about. Check out tatHome. They have a bunch of videos that shows what they are working on and rumor has it that it will work on android devices.

I checked out that tathome stuff.....and while it is ridiculously sick....its been in the works for just about a year now. I saw this work of genius seven months or so ago, and its still not out with any word of where its progress is at or perhaps a release date. This would keep me from switching to WP7 by the end of the year....but as of now the UI android has is not as smooth as it sooo could be, as everyone can plainly see in the demo video of tathome.
If anyone has any word on this, I'm quite sure it would be much appreciated by alot of people.

They had a beta testing program but they closed it. I've been keeping my eye out to see I'd they open it up to testing again.
What's your setup? Sense is real smooth for me.
I'm not impressed with win7.
But a few things look cool.
I'f you want to see the future of android check out mozilla seabird.
Seabird phone with tathome UI would be amazing.

This is definitely a must have for the EVO.
If there has been no public development it is because some large company wrote a large check to either shelve it or use it in their own phones.

Hello all,
I have been looking for a while to find a good matrix boot animation. I have searched for quite some time, but none really looked or worked the way I wanted them to. I was looking for one that started with a single line of code dropping from the screen. As it hits the middle/bottom a few more would drop, and then progressively the screen would fill with "raining code." All of the ones I have used have just been a wall of the code falling and it didn't progress the way I wanted them to. Adding the typical sound, or Morpheus saying Welcome to the real world, would be added awesomeness. If anyone could point me in the right direction for something similar I would greatly appreciate it. I understand it may mean some customization and creation, and understand if it can't be done. I thank you for your time reading this post already.

wow! Actually, I love this idea and think it would be a wicked sick animation. I might even prefer it to the pink unicorn in AOKP (which, thus far, is hands down my favorite animation)
Holy crap, typing that out made it finally occur to me that pink unicorn was one of the best kinds of LSD going around when I was young lol

For aosp, just name bootanimation and put in system/media, for sense it goes in system/customize/resource (I believe, but I don't know how the naming needs to be). But I'm sure you know all that, you're the premier boot animation guy .

I've done very very small animations and know how troublesome and annoying they can be. I can see this being near impossible, but also that it will be long and tedious project. Anyone to attempts to undertake this has my most sincere thanks. And possibly a few beers...

So since I'm under 8 posts I cannot link to the.... real world. Sorry I had to. Anywho I googled welcome to the real world matrix and the 4 sec youtube vid is there. Also, there is the first website link, labeled Th Matrix (wav \ MP3 sound clips). And at the bottom of the page there is a link labeled Matrix welcome to the real world sound effect. I'm not sure if we're on the same page, Dased. There is no boot sound with AOKP/unicorn boot. The unicorn boot is what I posted a link to, as it seemed that's what you were asking for.

I remember someone saying that was point. That they wanted to represent a more mature version of Android and break away from any ties of being associated with Google's Mascot.
Granted, the old Andy will be missed and he was perfect, but they needed to differentiate themselves

Anyways, I don't know what kind of music you guys all listen to but I am a big metal fan (ya think?). I just got my hands on the new Gojira album and it is nothing short of AMAZING. For those don't know, Gojira is an environmentally conscious sludge metal outfit from France, who have yet to put out anything bad. They have a style that nobody else has, and they have the musical chops to back it up. I am very critical of new music and I am floored by this thing. The album gets a solid 9.5/10 from me. Check it out, it's called L'Enfant Sauvage. Here is the vid for the title track off their new record. Awesome song, awesome song and it only gets better from there. Enjoy \m/

They had on old lead singer Tarja Tarunen, she went solo (also good imo). The new singer is Anette, also a food signer took the band in a different direction.
If you wanna look them up I would suggest.
Tarja as lead signer: Dark Chest of Wonder, but there is so much more that is also amazing.
Anette as lead: anything from the album Imaginarium.

I never got into Nightwish. I used to be a solid Kamelot fan though and they are in the same vein...but now that Roy Khan is gone I think I'm done with them. Do you listen to Symphony X? They're in my top 5 right now, their newest album Iconoclast was ridiculously good.
Not much into Metal but I love Industrial. Metal's synth based cousin.

Perfect way of putting it. Now if we can only keep the riff raff away. LOL We're all going to need boats to get around the in Minne if the rain keeps up. Some areas have seen 10" in the last couple of days. My girlfriend isn't one of them tho. LOL Hope that wasn't too unclean. If it was let me know and I'll edit it.

Ah so you must like Iced Earth and Blind Guardian! Another couple of my favorite bands. Iced Earth especially. I'm sure you already know but Demons and Wizards is Jon Schaffer from IE and Hansi Kursch from BG.

Divine Heresy is pretty good, I just don't like their [old]vocalist. Tim Yeung is definitely a machine behind the kit. I saw Divine Heresy with Shadows Fall at the Vic in chicago a couple of years ago, great show. I met Dino afterwards and he was pretty douchey.

As we all know, development & Support for our One XL is very poor compared to other phones like the One X Tegra, One S, EVO LTE and GS3.
What i have been doing in the past were how to videos and "Balanced" rom review videos for other devices and PC's as well. I would like to do more One XL videos and try to get it a little more popular and see what happens. Would you guys be interested in this? If so, let me know what kind of videos i could do for us, I'm open to Rom reviews, how to videos, and accessories videos.
I know I'm a developer but I also do enjoy using this phone and would love to see more attention brought to it before the One X+ kills it off for good.

Start with rom reviews. You got half a dozen roms to keep you busy. :thumbup:
Accessories thread is by far the slowest part of our forums so maybe continue there with some more reviews.
(although noobs don't bother with stickies, especially on the mobile app) create a sticky thread reviewing roms, tweaks, homescreens, and hell, fookin quadrant scores with certain roms. The few devs here create awesome roms.
I've rooted my buddies gs3, and he can't find a stable/feature rich Rom to save his life

I think reviewing roms would be great and videos of the ones you think are worth it. I've recently started testing some roms out. I tried KingCobra and am now using Viper plan on testing some more. I may could help on some input.
But someone to do up to date rom reviews would be awesome

Lord knows when I go looking at roms for my wife's i9100 its a gawd damned gong show trying to sort through all the clones.
At least here its progressing and easy to follow lol. Not 25 different renamed cm10 nightlies with added swag/speed/momo racing wheel add-ins.

Wow man that's really awesome of you! Do some reviews of ROM's like Dev1's ICS vs Dev2's ICS. Comparisons, some cool themes you find, tutorials on how to edit the clock, lockscreen, etc. on different roms, stuff like that.

The one thing I would stay away from that was mentioned was side by side, who's is better reviews. They are all hard work and it then becomes overly opinionated and can actually decrease the motivation of the "losing" devs. Your reviews will be great, and thanks for offering your time:beer:

I would never bash anyone in any reviews, I don't want any negative attention lol. I just hope people wont think im taking sides since i have roms of my own and i have only showed one on YouTube and that was back in may. With that being said, i want to do more how to videos because i don't enough of those here.
As far as creating a rom of your own, read read read is all i can say, that is how i started and ask questions and use Google. But never ever use anyone's work no matter how small you think the file may be. Ive seen a few people here and there doing that and its not cool at all. that's a good way to get a bad rep off the bat.
