Puzzle Piece Lock Screen?

Ok.... Galaxy S N00B here. If I have a text message or a missed call or something, my lock screen is a puzzle piece.... If I do not, it is the Sweep Lock Screen... I would REALLY like to be able to have the Puzzle Lock Screen ALL the time. Is that possible? Oh yeah, I have the Showcase from Cellular South

They are working on porting over the ULTIMATE rom from the i9000, which includes the ability to have that lock screen. It'll also incorporate the extra power options such as download/recovery etc. Unfortunately at this point they are porting it for the mez but maybe you can be involved in the port to the showcase.

The good thing about porting is that the individual mods can be separated out and used individually. If I ever get it all working, it shouldn't be too hard to port the lock screens to the Showcase.

Awesome. but as much I use to be a rom flash addict, I would really just like to have the puzzle piece lock screen without a new ROM. I plan on sticking it out until the official froyo release from Cellular South because, I will be honest, I LOVE the Samsung Galaxy S UI for android. It knocks HTC out of the water for sure. But, there could be a way to "trick" the phone into thinking there is some kind of notification without there being one. IDK... I guess I need to put my big boy panties on and try developing on the Showcase because it is a WHOLE lot different than the Hero I am use to. haha

I really want to blow up the swipe and puzzle piece with a rocket launcher full of cats. Me want AOSP lock screen .

I'm working on it. Also, I have a fully functional cat rocket launcher that is ready to go. Just gotta wait till things die down from the giant gerbil blender of doom thing with PETA...

Our phone does not have to option to select the puzzle. However this is being worked on so we can have sbrizzens 5 lockscreen mod.

Actually, yes. Exactly. We have someone working on implementing the 5 lockscreen choices using the same source from sbrissen's mod. If it all comes together it will be implemented in a lot of things.

Ice Cream Sandwich Details

I guess those of you who said/thought the Nexus S and other devices with less than a gig ram would not get ICS (Ice Cream Sandwich) officially because of the rumored "Google requires you to have 1gb or more of ram to run ICS" can now put it to rest. Check out the two links below for details.
P.S. Am I the only one that dislike the blue icons/theme? I rather the green icons/theme of Gingerbread. What about you?

Honestly, the thing I wonder about is the "multi-tasking" button on the bottom right of the leaked home screens.. Can't we do something like that now? it should be easy, I mean the home button hold is easy unless working one handed (Like when I'm driving like a dumb ass). It'd be nice to just have a button that does that on Gingerbread.

You are probably right on the fake.
As for ICS (besides the stupid Google Android name) would welcome having a real dual core optimized ROM on the G2X and could care less what color the theme was.
ICS for smartphones is supposed to be scheduled for the Fall. That will probably only be for new devices initially. Hopefully, after the code is released, someone will be able to port it over to the G2X.

I can't believe I'm saying this but that blue actually doesn't look bad on Andy. Come to think of it, Google might do RED, YELLOW & BLUE themes for future updates since their logo consist of blue, red, green and yellow.

I agree with you, we have enough out there to manage themeing the rom ourselves. I'm concerned less with UI features and more about hardware being tweaked and running smoothly. Though I will say, I wouldn't mind having settings and a browser similar to honeycomb... and then when they get the hardware tweaked and that stuff... then you can throw some neatness in it... a better native theme manager would be great. Give us the ability to choose past/present/future lockscreens, status bars... etc... like MIUI but native consuming less resources and what have you.

Hopefully, that's the only way the g2x will see it. LG can't even code gingerbread half a**'ed. But unless nvidia updates and releases the drivers it won't matter anyway.

Anyways, I don't know what kind of music you guys all listen to but I am a big metal fan (ya think?). I just got my hands on the new Gojira album and it is nothing short of AMAZING. For those don't know, Gojira is an environmentally conscious sludge metal outfit from France, who have yet to put out anything bad. They have a style that nobody else has, and they have the musical chops to back it up. I am very critical of new music and I am floored by this thing. The album gets a solid 9.5/10 from me. Check it out, it's called L'Enfant Sauvage. Here is the vid for the title track off their new record. Awesome song, awesome song and it only gets better from there. Enjoy \m/

They had on old lead singer Tarja Tarunen, she went solo (also good imo). The new singer is Anette, also a food signer took the band in a different direction.
If you wanna look them up I would suggest.
Tarja as lead signer: Dark Chest of Wonder, but there is so much more that is also amazing.
Anette as lead: anything from the album Imaginarium.

I never got into Nightwish. I used to be a solid Kamelot fan though and they are in the same vein...but now that Roy Khan is gone I think I'm done with them. Do you listen to Symphony X? They're in my top 5 right now, their newest album Iconoclast was ridiculously good.

Not much into Metal but I love Industrial. Metal's synth based cousin.

Perfect way of putting it. Now if we can only keep the riff raff away. LOL We're all going to need boats to get around the in Minne if the rain keeps up. Some areas have seen 10" in the last couple of days. My girlfriend isn't one of them tho. LOL Hope that wasn't too unclean. If it was let me know and I'll edit it.

Divine Heresy is pretty good, I just don't like their [old]vocalist. Tim Yeung is definitely a machine behind the kit. I saw Divine Heresy with Shadows Fall at the Vic in chicago a couple of years ago, great show. I met Dino afterwards and he was pretty douchey.

Ugly jellybean notification drawer.

I like jellybean a lot but why did Google change the theme of the notification drawer. It doesn't match with the rest of holo at all. The other pet peace I have is camera apps animation when you take a picture.

So dig in and learn to change what you don't like. Personally I think every theme Google has made is not only ugly but made by some that is color blind. So what did I do. I went and learned how to change it and now I have one of the most in-depth detailed themes around. It is not that hard. It is what android is all about. Learning to make it what you want it to be.

Well then it looks like you should get started lol. Hell you could dig in and do a theme Chooser theme that will work with any rom that supports it. While I am not a fan of it myself all you can do is theme it like every other Google release. Having a phone look the way you want it is a never ending cycle. If you know how to theme then you should know this by know. A few XML edits, some new icons and a couple remade .9.pngs and you will have what you want. With the right tools you can have any roms pull down match what you want in 5 min after getting the rom

well, i got a suggestion for you (and please dont take it as rude or what not), the whole JUST adding letters to an image is not working so good in this case. You need to try to match the letters or whatever you are adding to the image colors. A few examples, then assasins creen image is hot, but the purple letters look out of place, maybe match then to the colors of the background, and add a shadow that matches with the lighter/brighter color. Another example will be to make the androids on the girls a bit smaller and match their outfits, and maybe a little soft blurring on the edges so it looks like a real tattoo. Either way, most of this look real good, just need a light touch up Thanks for sharing!
