I like jellybean a lot but why did Google change the theme of the notification drawer. It doesn't match with the rest of holo at all. The other pet peace I have is camera apps animation when you take a picture.

Quit complaining about innocuous aesthetic nonsense, and just be happy you have the latest Android OS...some of us are still waiting for updates from GB. Sheesh, some people just want it all, don't they? :banghead:

The grey in the new drawer looks horrible on many amoled screens. Poor choice for the galaxy nexus. It looks very out of place and inconsistent. Its one of like two aesthetic changes they made. So dig in and learn to change what you don't like. Personally I think every theme Google has made is not only ugly but made by some that is color blind. So what did I do. I went and learned how to change it and now I have one of the most in-depth detailed themes around. It is not that hard. It is what android is all about. Learning to make it what you want it to be.

Well then it looks like you should get started lol. Hell you could dig in and do a theme Chooser theme that will work with any rom that supports it. While I am not a fan of it myself all you can do is theme it like every other Google release. Having a phone look the way you want it is a never ending cycle. If you know how to theme then you should know this by know. A few XML edits, some new icons and a couple remade .9.pngs and you will have what you want. With the right tools you can have any roms pull down match what you want in 5 min after getting the rom

I guess those of you who said/thought the Nexus S and other devices with less than a gig ram would not get ICS (Ice Cream Sandwich) officially because of the rumored "Google requires you to have 1gb or more of ram to run ICS" can now put it to rest. Check out the two links below for details.
P.S. Am I the only one that dislike the blue icons/theme? I rather the green icons/theme of Gingerbread. What about you?

Honestly, the thing I wonder about is the "multi-tasking" button on the bottom right of the leaked home screens.. Can't we do something like that now? it should be easy, I mean the home button hold is easy unless working one handed (Like when I'm driving like a dumb ass). It'd be nice to just have a button that does that on Gingerbread.

You are probably right on the fake.
As for ICS (besides the stupid Google Android name) would welcome having a real dual core optimized ROM on the G2X and could care less what color the theme was.
ICS for smartphones is supposed to be scheduled for the Fall. That will probably only be for new devices initially. Hopefully, after the code is released, someone will be able to port it over to the G2X.

I agree with you, we have enough out there to manage themeing the rom ourselves. I'm concerned less with UI features and more about hardware being tweaked and running smoothly. Though I will say, I wouldn't mind having settings and a browser similar to honeycomb... and then when they get the hardware tweaked and that stuff... then you can throw some neatness in it... a better native theme manager would be great. Give us the ability to choose past/present/future lockscreens, status bars... etc... like MIUI but native consuming less resources and what have you.

Not really much going on anyway, except for the new Bullet rom.....which im dying to try out but gotta have the in-call dialer issue fixed first. I tried really hard to replace Go Launcher with Holo but it's just not happening. Go is faster, more customizable, but the ICS experience is unbeatable with Holo. I know it's still in Beta at the moment so I'll def check back once it sheds the Beta tag.....if I don't already have my SGSIII by then

Hey guys, if you have CM7, I found a great way to make our phones look almost just like ICS as we wait for CM9.
No mods are required here and is completely free!
1) Install CM7
2) Go to the Play Store and download Ice Cream Sandwich CM7 Theme
3) Download Go Launcher and install any kind of ICS theme you like.
4) Download Go Locker and get the ICS theme
(This will now affect the notification settings)
5) Then go into Settings>CyanogenMod Settings>Interface>Notification Power Widget>Hide indicator if you want or just change color of indicator
6) Finally, download Phase Beam Live Wallpaper from Play Store

I didn't mean it like that, to be honest. I hasn't researched too much into the SGS. I think the early work some of the developers have done here has given us an early preview of what we are in for. It looks great so far, best and smoothest my nexus has been.
I think you'll get a better idea though if you read the threads found in the developers section. When reading a thread titled "jelly bean" I get all excited expecting to find OTA is here and ready to flash. Instead I'm leaving my opinion on an SDK based version of 4.1 I feel like a child who just found out Santa has still not been.

Hi, I was a iphone user 3-4 years ago. Then I realized I want more and Android was there with all the customization. And I own a LG G2 and it has anything and everything customizable. Its a perfect phone and I had all the Nexus4, Gs4, Galaxy Note 2 this year. And i just ordered 3 Nexus 5's. But more and more I look at Nexus 5 its reminding me of Apple IOS. Google is making it too simple and boring. Good thing we have all the Dev's that can do so much. What u guy's think? Is Google making Android to look like Apple's IOS? And Apple on the other side is making IOS look like Android. Dont fight only opinions. Thanx to everyone.

I definitely disagree, and I'm not sure where you're getting "Google is making it [Android] too simple and boring." What has been removed in 4.4, or otherwise overhauled so completely that you are getting this impression?
There's only so much "difference" you can have between 2 companies who are using a desktop-environment with a grid of icons as the major way to navigate through the ecosystem.

Well, 5. And, unlike Apple, you have the choice of downloading and using a different launcher. Many different launchers allow you to define how many icons you want vertically and horizontally in the grid, and even in the dock.

How are they similar? Please explain. Just posting a screenshot and saying they are similar doesn't do much for your argument. I can think of many reasons why they aren't. Though The page dots addition looks very iOS and the Google now to the left is similar to how iOS used to have spotlight on the left. Only spotlight was the laggiest, slowest, most useless thing ever when Google now on the left is absolutely genius.

Yep. iOS7 made more leaps to looking like Android than vise-versa. Some things in ios7 are hard to distinguish from Android like the lock-screen, wallpaper, calculator app. I'm sure there are more but I don't use ios.
My guess is that in time they will mostly just look the same.

No such thing because android is open source and you can always do much more than what ios can when it comes to customization and free market on the play store.
So no its nothing even close.
