MediaFly is my favourite Podcast player app by far. Mainly because it has a web interface as well and is integrated into various media players, WDTV Live in my case.
However most of the time (well ALL of the time) it crashes miserably making this wonderful app completely unusable. Has anyone been facing the same problem? If so is there a workaround for this issue?
Hi,
Please upgrade to 0.91 in the Android Market.
This bug was discovered when parts of the Mediafly service went down due to the Amazon AWS crash.
Thanks.

Good morning,
I have a Asus Padfone 2 and I am very happy with it. However, there is an issue that I only have with this phone. When playing media (audio or video) the content stutters (starts/stops continuously). This problem arises with all apps except the native Google media player. Spotify, NFL GamePass, several radio apps all give this issue.
I read somewhere that this issue is resolved in Android 4.2, but my phone is still on version 4.1.1. I read online that the Android 4.2 update would be released in Q3 of 2013. Up to this day, I still have not had any update. Is there a way to push the update to my device somehow? Or is there a different solution to my issue?
Thanks in advance,
Steven
Hey guys, anyone noticing random crashes back to the leanback launcher while using plexpass, Kodi, youtube or any video player? I have, im not sure if its running out of memory and getting oom killed or if their is a bug, has anyone done any debugging ie: pulled a logcat of this happening? Also is there any known fixes? What I have done so far is fastboot flashed the stock image twice and formatted all partitions twice, still same result.
I've noticed this too, especially in kodi. I'm going to pull a logcat tomorrow to see why.
I've had the same problem with Kodi. (see thread on Kodi forum - http://forum.kodi.tv/showthread.php?tid=206515&page=20).
I didn't have any problems with beta1, and haven't had any problems with RC3.
According to the thread I linked (above), apparently the Nexus Player can run the ARM version (I haven't tried). The person running the ARM version hasn't had any crashing problems. That will be the next thing I try, if needed.

Audible also crashes the leanback launcher. It would be nice to be able to re-run it instead of having to reboot

For what it's worth, I'm running wired (an old, generic USB 10/100 adapter via OTG).

Its possible oom/lmk is killing the apps and network, its unfortunate there is no bug report feature for the nexus player and all play support does is rma. I think there is software bugs going on, will have to report to google code then
Here is a logcat of the crash of video getting randomly killed:
http://pastebin.com/Wjz2DYd9
It looks like backdrop is interfering and kodi is getting killed, just disabled backdrop and cleared backdrop data as a test

Yes, I can confirm the Nexus Player is capable of running the ARM version. I'm running ADT-1's Gotham version and had no crashes or whatsoever.
However, the x86 version is crashing all the time, sometimes after 10 minutes, sometimes after 1 hour.
I'm running wired too.
Videos play fine when on the phone through Video Player.
If I load Google Photos, play a video there, the playback is crazy jerky. Same video on google photos app on iOS does not do it.
Can't recall having the problem on OxygenOS but was wondering if anyone else had this issue before going back to O2 (1.01 broke touchscreen for me)
Thanks
Simpler request:
Could someone running 12.1 tell me if video is choppy in google photos please? Wish to see if the problem is on my end or an issue with Google Photos.
Many thanks!
Wiped, re-flashed Oxygen OS 1.0 (not 1.01), still same problem with Google Photos video playback. Choppy. The same videos are not choppy on iOS nor on desktop website (in chrome).
Perhaps a bug with Google Photos app?
I have this problem too. I hadn't tried the stock gallery app until I saw this post. It worked fine.
I wonder is its just oneplus related or dies it occur on other phones too?

Searching the web, saw that many users have issue on nexus devices (6 and 10). Seems like the latest versions of Google Photos are to blame. Haven't tried uninstalling current ver and installing old one through apkmirror yet to confirm.
I can confirm this issue.
OPO COS12.1, Google photos last version (1.4.).
Had the same problem on COS12.
When I revert photos app to version 1.0.1 the video plays fine.
Definitely photos app problem.
I will stick to 1.0.1 version of the app until there is an improvement in the app itself.
Hey,
So I'm on a stock 5.1.1 and updated to the latest Google Photos version, which I think screws with my devices HW acceleration. Basically , after updating I can't watch any HD videos without the frames stuttering, the screen sometimes blacks out in middle of viewing videos as well. Searching around I found that more people experience this, but it isn't that widespread. The problem goes away if I revert the update. Any help for additional workarounds would be appreciated.
Thanks
I was able to find another solution to this. With the latest photos app running, I went in to developer options and switched from NuPlayer to AwesomePlayer making things working smoothly again when playing videos.
If anybody can check what player they're running after updating the app and tell me if they experience video playback stutter with it, I'd appreciate it.
Seems like Google switched between default players on the different OS updates, I'm wondering if they've done the same and it didn't register or something.
Thanks.

This worked for me also. Nice to see confirmation.
Ever since I updated to Android 10 I've been having issues with video Playback on streaming services such as Netflix, Google Play Movies and YouTube TV! The phone plays just fine then few hours later it starts frame skipping /stutter and the image freezes! This also applies to offline playback!
The latest update (55.1.A.3.49) didn't fix the issue! Anybody is experiencing this on their device?
Tested on Customized US, Customized UK and Customized HK firmware
I get this when using prime video.
On uk vodafone network software
Only way to fix it is to reboot the phone

Yeah it works fine after reboot for few hours then it craps out again! It's a big glitch in Android 10 update that needs to be fixed! And this phone was advertised for best in class media playback!
At least I know it's not just my phone!
I get problems when my wifi isn't good and it switches between mobile data or wifi. I usually get the program to download first now to prevent this from happening but pretty sure its a poor wifi signal.

I disabled the smart clean function and then mine stopped with the stuttering.

I just tried that, unfortunately it did not fix the stuttering issue on Netflix and YouTube TV
I found out that it only seems to affect DRM content, which is bizarre. Hopefully this is sorted at somepoint because it's one of the major selling points of the phone (including the X1)

I think you are right! Cause it doesn't affect the video captured by the camera or video playback inside the album app. Only DRM streaming services including live TV

Yep! I initially thought it had something to do with the Dolby Atmos EQ but quickly found out it only happened with DRM video content. I'm hoping Sony fixes this because it's my second Sony phone

After .112 update it's now only affecting HDR content on Netflix! It's like they half fixed the issue! 3 months after Android 10 has been released and can't watch anything on my phone on Netflix!

Some progress is better than none I suppose.
Prime Video seems to be fixed, I think I saw like one dropped frame but the video and audio doesn't constantly stutter which is amazing.
Play Movies/YT Movies is worthless, don't even bother lol.
Side note: video recording has had improvements too, as the camera version has been bumped up and there's some under-the-hood changes.
