Hello everyone, I just got my Inspire 3 days ago, rooted yesterday with the bubby232 simple one click root. Today I attempted to flash CM7 onto it, so I followed the instructions in development forum but after going into recovery, the screen stayed black. I hit power, and first time it rebooted normally. I went back and tried the backup again, and now my phone doesn't boot at all
I can get into HBOOT, but recovery doesn't do anything, it just gives me the black screen. I do have S-OFF.
Any help? I apologize ahead of time if there was another thread like this, I didn't find it.

I've been searching the forums and haven't found a similar thread, so I was hoping someone could point me in the right direction. I've already posted in my device's forum, but haven't had any detailed feedback.
I'll try to keep it short. I flashed CWM build 3.1.0.1 (Purple) on my phone months ago in order to install a ROM. Recently installed a suggested kernel that comes with CWM 3.0.2.5 (Orange) built in. I was told it wouldn't interfere/overwrite with my previous Purple build. Yesterday, however, my phone froze, and when I pulled the battery and rebooted, the phone booted into the Orange clockwork, which I thought I wouldn't see. While here I cannot boot my system. Instead, I had to pull battery, manually enter CWM and doing so enters me into Purple CM, which allows me to boot my system. I have no idea if this is a real problem or not, and I am wondering if I should just Odin reset my phone and flash everything again. Any advice is surely appreciated. Thanks in advanced.
I apologize in advanced if this doesn't belong here or if this has been covered elsewhere. As I said, tried but didn't find anything, and I worry for my phone's health :3
Brand new G tablet.
CWM Version 08
BL 1.2-4349
no external sd card
Internal version of CWM
Unzipped the file for cwm into the root of the tablet. Followed instructions to load and it worked the first time. The next time and all subsequent times I have used the + and power to turn it on I see the little notification "recovery key detected" then "booting recovery kernel image" and does nothing else. I can reboot the machine and it will start so it is not bricked. I just can't get CWM working to install Vegan Gingerbread.
Thank you all and yahoo!
After 8 hours of searching and trying out suggestions I finally ended up downgrading from BL1.2-4349 and everything went smoothly just like the instructions said they should. I would have been here 9 hours ago when I started this project. Yes, I am a noob but I must point out only one person was adamant enough to convince me to try it. I havent done anything like this before so I apologize if I asked questions that were already answered. I just didn't know were the answers were.
Once again, thank you very much for the assistance and the learning experience. You were instrumental in this endeavor!
So I rooted my HTC Inspire using Hack Ace Kit. Than I flashed a custom HTC Sense 3.0 ROM. I decided it was too slow for me so I went into CloworkMod Recovery and wiped all data/delvik from the phone & SD card. When I rebooted my phone, the plain HTC logo screen appears followed by the HTC logo screen w/ the "Quietly Brilliant". It keeps repeating the screen over and over. If I plug it into the PC the PC never detects it because the phone is turning off and on, and my volume buttons are broken off so its difficult to do a reset. How do I return back to custom ROM and make my phone work?

search, search, search, search!!! this is a development site and it is expected that you at least try to find your answer first and since I know this subject has been covered maybe not your particular circumstance but the boot loop you're referencing has numerous threads about it.
First off, you clearly didn't read much because any time you wipe data/cache you're always suppose to flash a new ROM, since you didn't and just tried to reboot what exactly were you expecting to happen? there is no data on your phone!!!!Incredible. Second, you're gonna have to find a way to get your volume keys to work because that's about the only way you're going to get into HBOOT without making this a bit more complicated for you. I'm also going to assume that since you tried to reboot your phone after a full wipe, you ignored most warnings and advice to make a back-up of your rom. If you didn't, get into the habit fast or spend a stupid amount of time working around problems like this. If you made a back up and I pray that you did, hold the volume down button and power on the device. It will boot you into HBOOT and then you can boot into recovery from there. From recovery you can then restore your back-up. If you can get into recovery from HBOOT and you don't have a back-up or a ROM zip on your sd card currently, you can mount storage from recovery (has to be plugged into the PC obviously) and you should be able to place another ROM zip on your SDcard and flash the ROM through recovery once its on the SD card. Please please please, read and do your full research before you destroy your phone!

LOLOL, one of these days something will stick I'm sure of it!
Hello all, this is my first time posting on this forums, although I have been lurking them thoroughly the last couple of days, since I was able to finally buy myself my first Android Phone: HTC Chacha.
Being completely new to android, it was hard for me to adapt and learn all the new terms (like root, rom, etc.) and finally the day before yesterday I decided to dive in and try to mess around with my Chacha because I was tired of the internal memory running low and the lack of awesome stuff I could install, like a Custom ROM.
I have followed the guides in this forums, and I am glad to say that I have my chacha unlocked via the bootloader thingy from the official htc website (it says UNLOCKED when I open the menu when booting the device with the power and down volume keys) , I have it rooted and, somehow, I was able to install Clockwork Recovery Mod version 4 to try and backup the rom that came with the phone (from Telcel, since I'm from Mexico) and install a specific Rom (I want to install Stock Plus, here's the link to the thread: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1690088)
However, I have failed terribly and I am just about to tear my hair out due to frustration. :silly:
Every time I run the Clockwork Recovery Mod from the Recovery option in the menu that appears if you press the power and down volume keys, no matter what options I choose (backup, install from sd, power off, etc) NO ACTION takes place and it just stays stuck in the logo of the hat with the orange circle. I have tried waiting for hours, taking the battery on and off, rebooting (is that the same as restarting?) the cellphone and googling like crazy.
I hate threads were people post because they didn't take their time to do proper research or just typing a couple of words on google. But I SWEAR I have been trying this for 6 hours, I have tried different searches and I am just about to give up. Please help me!
Is there something I need to install? Something I need to check? I admit I AM a noob when it comes to terms like "flashing" and such, but if you are patient and guide me step by step I promise I will do my best to follow the steps without annoying you.
I have read a lot of guides, posts in this forum and others, and finally decided that the last desperate measure had to be used: Ask for help.
If someone has ANY idea of what I'm doing wrong, please guide me. And I'm sorry if this post is too long, but I just had too much to say due to my lack of reaching goals for today, lol.
Thank you for taking your time to read this

Go into recovery like you have just described, once in recovery, before choosing any items like install from SD card of backup press the volume key (either up or down) multiple times until you see something like "back menu enabled" displayed in white text. After that choose any option you want, you'll be good to go.
Use the "enter" key on your keyboard to activate CWM options.

THANK YOU! I did just like you said and the "back menu enabled" DID appear in white text. I was finally able to make a backup of the rom I had in the phone. I am a very happy person right now!

I have given both of you "Thanks!"

Hello Everybody!
I would like to kindly ask you for some help regarding my Samsung Galaxy Ace Plus S7500 phone. The phone has been locked in a network and further more, in the last months has experienced the autorestart issue. I have read other threads here (before posting this one) and I have seen that other people experience the phone vibrating and continuing to restart in the first two screens. Also, if battery had been taken out, when putting it back in the phone would restart.
After reading the possible solutions here, I have hoped that installing a new ROM on the phone might solve this problem. I have also installed the CWM-based recovery and I believe I have managed to root it. (I am not an expert, but I have managed to root before two Samsung phones after the instructions given here - everything worked flawlessly).
However, yesterday, after obtaining a successful install screen from the version Inspiration_Rom_V18_Kitkat_Edition.zip downloade from this forum, I am stuck with my phone in the CWM-based Recovery v.5.0.2.8 screen. I have tried to install other ROM stable versions from the forum but I seem not to be able to get rid of this screen.
Might I want to add that the phone escaped the former rebooting issue, the battery and the power button seem to work fine now. For example I can shut the phone down, I can restart it, if I take the battery out and put it back in, it will not automatically start. Is there still hope? Have i bricked it?
Please advise and excuse me if I have written anything stupid,
Vlad

Thanks so much! Succeeded! I have access to my phone again and it is rooted.
However, I did not get rid of the VODAFONE ROMANIAN NETWORK LOCK.
Can I also do this at home?
