I've got unlocked optimus 7 nodo , could anyone send me a path or smth i have to edit in registry (Mfg) that will allow me to install more than 10 apps ?
I know we've got a xap that makes it possible , but it seems not working on optimus 7 ..
HKLM \ Software \ Microsoft \ DeviceReg \ Install \ MaxUnsignedApp
That's correct, but it seems (personnaly) that on Optimus 7, it always return back to the old value, so you can install more than 10, but always go back to registry to modify before another installation.
Can you confirm?
What value did you set it to...The problem is on an Optimus 7, you cannot enter Hex values. You MUST turn them into decimal values before entering them into the phone. So, in the follow key, through the MFG app registry editor on the Optimus 7, enter it as follows:
[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Microsoft\DeviceReg\ Install]
"MaxUnsignedApp"=dword:2147483647
The number is the decimal value for the actually needed key 7FFFFFFF.
This has solved my problem, and make sure you have set the proper values to prevent relocking when syncing with Zune.
From time to time, the value get back to the original state, like the chevron relock issue.
Just reset the value before installing a new app.
BTW, you don't have to set so high value... 1000 is enough even in decimal
Thanks Nico & Kapanak.
I didn't change any values related to prevent relocking, as I have a dev unlocked phone (can I try this hack? I'm affraid of breaking the "dev status").
Nico, did you try relocking hack?
Custom Theme for Wp7
I have a samsung focus flash, and this app wont stay open long enough to do anything, please help
since your phone is on Nodo upgrade use the windowbreak project and you will be good to go it is all done for you then.
@TheBeO: It's OK to use the "prevent relock" hack even with official dev unlock. I strongly recommend you do so, as otherwise you'll have to manually re-interop-unlock (set the MaxUnsignedApp value) all the time.
It's easy enough to undo the prevent-relock thing, just restore the string values (the original values are on the forum somewhere, though of course you can just write them down before clearing them yourself).

I read somewhere this may be due to a system font being replaced but I have not installed any new software in weeks.
Anybody know how to recover? I can't afford a hard reset.
Descriptions, But no icons or background
Maybe our problems have the same cause. The comm manager wizard worked for me before on my 8525. Then updated to WM6 and now it installs partway and stops. Message is "not enough permissions". I get the text for the buttons, but not the icons or background. Also can't afford a hard reset.
Would rather have your half of the problem. At least you can still see the keys.
Update. I was able to fix the problem.
At: http://blogs.conchango.com/stuartpreston/archive/2005/11/10/2376.aspx
found directions. Have included them below as modified to fix my particular problem.
The following reg editor at the blog site did not do the job on my 8525. RegEditSTG http://blogs.conchango.com/stuartpreston/files/regeditSTG.zip
I used the reg editor at here:http://www.8525software.com/component/option,com_remository/Itemid,27/func,fileinfo/id,86/
Followed the directions for what keys to fix in the link above. Reinstalled the comm manager "CommManager_8button_wizard.cab" and it works well. Looks good, too.
The reg edit I used works on the 8525 remotely from the PC. Just unzip and execute with the 8525 connected. Change the security policies as follows:
Navigate to HKLM\Security\Policies\Policies\
Write down any entries you change, before you change them.
Delete the entry you need to change.
click add DWORD and insert the correct values in the dialog on the PC's screen.
Change "00001001" value to 1 (decimal) (recovery note: default is 2)
Change "00001005" value to 40 (decimal) (recovery note: default is 16)
To fix the security policy, I changed only ...005 to 40.
Reboot device.
I believe WM6 is taking on the same baggage as PC Windows, so that this type of fix will become the norm instead of the exception.
Hi all!
Just wondering before i try and flash my Mozart...
Has anyone on here with the NoDo rom been able to unlock and sideload?? .....
cheers
Keith
as of now that isn't possible .
ahhhhhh, ok
just wanted to make sure before i did it!!
But... nah, i think ill hold off, as i dont see it being cracked any time soon.... lol
Out of curiosity, couldn't some phones like the lg optimus 7 with direct access to the registry through mfg manually change the registry to label the device as a developer model? Because the way I see it, registry access = full system override. And I don't think the software update can/will remove the lg engineer app.
Thoughts on this?

I wouldn't be so sure, giving him credit as a proved by a+b=c we could install for o2 uk the european nodo rom without goldcard, our fellow member petbede is actually working on a way to sideload apps in a way you would make think your phone it's installling it from marketplace. Until now, if I remember correctly, he's able to sideload like 19 apps. You can follow the progress here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=988672

for me that is that you can't unlock it and that there isn't any wifi tethering on wp7 .
ofcourse if we had some prove then that would be real cool .

The guy who was claiming that he could sideload apps on the nodo rom got a letter just minutes before he was going to release it. LOL

HOWDY ALL!!! I tried everything and it ALL works great. But, I got a bit of sad news for you ALL that must have been waiting. I got a letter into my facebook account and my hotmail/live account, it sure is serious issue cuz in the letter I was told to hold back my discoveries or I will find myself in a mess that I cant get out of. The letter went further saying that I should keep my discoveries to myself, the letter said all kind of stuff. I have inform my solicitors about it and they said I should hold on to whatever I discover that the update just newly came out.
Right now, I am confuse cuz we brought the phone not rented it. Please, I will like to hear from you ALL out there on what I should do. THANKS!!!
This has been one of another SAD day for me.

I really hoped for some time that he made it, but THAT's just funny
That letter-thing doesn't sound really plausible. Just another guy who wants to get some fame for nothing...
Real people post real letters as proof. Sham.

He had also claimed he was working on android for the hd7 and that his device was halting at the android bootscreen/whatever. Anyways, if you bumped this thread for the nodo unlock, it can be done by using the prevent lock xap and then updating to nodo.. Refer this thread : http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1009974

Actually YES - I know this from personal experience. I did not change my phone over and unlock it untill AFTER I got NoDo. I use the LG Quantum and it has MFG. Below is what you need to unlock, at least with the quantum.
You can unlock the phone by using the MFG registry editor.
Open the MFG app and use the password to open it. If you don't know it's (appmfg#*#)
Go to Engineer Menu -> Other Settings -> Edit Registry
Set your ROOT PATH to "HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE"
Set your input path to "\Comm\Security\LVMod"
Set your input key to "DeveloperUnlockState" and set to DWORD
Hit Query. Output result should return a "0" or a random long number. If it does continue.
Set your input data box to "1" and hit SET. Output result should be 1
How To Keep Your Phone Unlocked
You can keep your phone unlocked and prevent Zune from re-locking it.
Open the MFG app and use the password to open it. If you don't know it's (appmfg#*#)
Go to Engineer Menu -> Other Settings -> Edit Registry
Set your ROOT PATH to "HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE"
Set your input path to "\Software\Microsoft\DeviceReg"
Set your input key to "PortalUrlProd" and set to DWORD
Hit Query. Output result should return data. If it does continue.
Keep your input data box empty and hit SET. Output result should be 0
Keep this screen open and continue to Part 2
Part 2
Set your ROOT PATH to "HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE"
Set your input path to "\Software\Microsoft\DeviceReg"
Set your input key to "PortalUrlInt" and set to DWORD
Hit Query. Output result should return data. If it does continue.
Keep your input data box empty and hit SET. Output result should be 0
Backout to the password screen and shutdown the phone via powerbutton.
Reboot and sync. Your phone should stay unlocked.
Also worth noting, on any phone: if you unlock and do the registry hack to prevent relocking before updating to NoDo, the unlocked state will persist across the update as long as you don't hard-reset. It will, however, not be possible to re-unlock if you do hard-reset the phone after updating at this point, unless you have the aforementioned LG. I'm sure someone will come up with another method that works for NoDo eventually, but it hasn't been done yet.

Yup. I just updated my phone today. I had registry tweaks done to prevent relocking while it was on 7004. After update, phone is still unlocked
Will the method that jlott069 posted work with my LG optimus 7?
Thanks in advance
I have HTC 7 Trophy with latest update :7.0.7392 (I guess it is NoDo). Can I use the method proposed by jlott069 on it to unlock it or is it for LG? And Can I do it now or do I rollback the update?
Thanks
the method was originally posted by airwa1kin7 here. This works on all LG WP7 phones, no other devices. On LG phones this works even after you updated to NoDo and your phone happens to be locked. Follow the instructions and you will unlock your phone and keep it unlocked before and after NoDo.

Hey guys!
My problem is, as u can see in the title, sometimes after switching my phone on, it simply gets stuck after the Samsung Omnia logo... After the logo comes a totally red screen and nothing more happens... It stucks... When I push the windows button, the other to buttons light but that's it... The only way I get it pass the red screen is to disassemble the battery wait 10 sec and put it in again... Can anyone help? Or is there anyone having the same problem?
Thx for the replies!

This is a common issue if you apply the 32bit display hack. In most cases you have to reboot the phone 1 or 2 times and then it works fine again. The alternatives are to remove the 32bit hack and/or to wait for mango (this problem will be adressed in the mango update).
Thx! Problem solved think I'm gonna wait for mango

No problem . I've had the same issue...and found the cause/solution of the problem here on xda. I'm gonna wait for mango too, the banding issue is not that big of a deal
I want to revert the 32bit hack but I don't remember what was the "factory" registry data.
Can someone write it here, please?
HKLM\Drivers\Display\Primary\PrimBPP dword ? (or non-existent?)
HKLM\Drivers\Display\Primary\bpp dword ? (or non existent?)
HKLM\Drivers\Display\Primary\PanelBPP ? (or non-existent?)

PrimBPP - Doesn't exist in my registry
bpp - Doesn't exist in my registry
PanelBPP: type: string; data: dcILSI_S6E63M0X01.DLL
By the way: I didn't apply the 32bit hack or change any values, so this should be the original registry entries Hope it helps

I confirm these are the exact values on my 7392 Focus, no 32bit gradient hack.
Many thanks!
It's strange, I don't remember to have a string like dcILSI_S6E63M0X01.DLL
on PanelBPP.
Well, as long as it isn't depending on the phone model, those values must be right
Using a Dev + Interop Unlocked LG Optimus 7
I have some 10-15 XAPs, homebrew installed but when I tried installing another app today, it said:
Maximum no. of Unsigned apps are installed.
I have tried this Reg edit but the same error.
[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Microsoft\DeviceReg\Install]
"MaxUnsignedApp"=dword:7fffffff
I don't know how all of a sudden I got this error, no factory reset or anything was done.
A few days back, I upgraded to Tango 8773, could this be the reason?
When you apply hacks to your phone, you *really* need to do some research before installing updates. It's well documented (here and on other WP7-homebrew-centric sites) that Tango will reset (restore) the URLs that WP7 uses to check its unlock status with Microsoft. Among other things, this check happens every time the phone connects with the PC, so as soon as you plug the phone in, the phone learns from Microsoft that you're only *supposed* to have 10 unsigned apps, and resets that registry value.
Fortunately, on an LG this is quite easy to fix; simply re-apply the "prevent relock" hack (you can find the relevant registry values on the Dev&Hacking sub-forum), and then re-apply interop-unlock, and you'll be good to go.
Hi
In trying to solve the no data connection issue for use internationally outside Korea, I happened across a secret menu. It needs an admin password to unlock and I reversed engineered the pass. I don't think it's of any use to unlock data for international use but it might be of some use to those in Korea.
This will work on stock bootloader locked phones btw. It gives access to 3 databases Global, Secure, and System. I think these can be adjusted with the app setedit anyway so no real value there, but there are other settings in the menu and I'm not clear on what they are for so maybe you would like to experiment with these settings, figure out what they do, and hopefully they are of some use.
*#*#762646423646#*#*
Click on 'admin' and select date 10th March 2017.
In the change DB section, select Global, Secure, or System on the left, enter a property in the middle and enter a property value (numeric only, in the far right). To see a current value setting, or to see if the property exists at all, enter a property value e.g. preferred_network_mode, select 'get' and if it exists it will show the current value. To change the value to something else, enter new value on the far right, and select 'put'. Be careful with putting new values!
*#*#6367238378#*#*
This one will bring you directly to a settings menu that is a sub setting of the one above.
Edit: Forgot to say, if you enter ' 1 ' for enable in the MCC/MCN section here fone will reboot and you will find that settings in 'Global Roaming' (available in the normal Settings>Networks&Internet section) that were previous locked are now unlocked.
Have fun.

I should have emphasised in the OP, as I don't want to get anyone's hopes up, but NO, I don't think so. I played with it a lot in the hope it would, but I haven't found a way for it to be of any use. At the same time I do want others to mess with it just in case I missed something.
I haven't seen any code that would change the radio version being used dynamically in Telephony.
