Korean V20 Secret Menu unlocked[PIE] [F800L/K/S] [Stock] - LG V20 Guides, News, & Discussion

Hi
In trying to solve the no data connection issue for use internationally outside Korea, I happened across a secret menu. It needs an admin password to unlock and I reversed engineered the pass. I don't think it's of any use to unlock data for international use but it might be of some use to those in Korea.
This will work on stock bootloader locked phones btw. It gives access to 3 databases Global, Secure, and System. I think these can be adjusted with the app setedit anyway so no real value there, but there are other settings in the menu and I'm not clear on what they are for so maybe you would like to experiment with these settings, figure out what they do, and hopefully they are of some use.
*#*#762646423646#*#*
Click on 'admin' and select date 10th March 2017.
In the change DB section, select Global, Secure, or System on the left, enter a property in the middle and enter a property value (numeric only, in the far right). To see a current value setting, or to see if the property exists at all, enter a property value e.g. preferred_network_mode, select 'get' and if it exists it will show the current value. To change the value to something else, enter new value on the far right, and select 'put'. Be careful with putting new values!
*#*#6367238378#*#*
This one will bring you directly to a settings menu that is a sub setting of the one above.
Edit: Forgot to say, if you enter ' 1 ' for enable in the MCC/MCN section here fone will reboot and you will find that settings in 'Global Roaming' (available in the normal Settings>Networks&Internet section) that were previous locked are now unlocked.
Have fun.

I wonder if this can contribute to some no data issues for stock pie root. Nice find.

I should have emphasised in the OP, as I don't want to get anyone's hopes up, but NO, I don't think so. I played with it a lot in the hope it would, but I haven't found a way for it to be of any use. At the same time I do want others to mess with it just in case I missed something.

I haven't seen any code that would change the radio version being used dynamically in Telephony.

NoDo + Unlocking?

Hi all!
Just wondering before i try and flash my Mozart...
Has anyone on here with the NoDo rom been able to unlock and sideload?? .....
cheers
Keith
as of now that isn't possible .
ahhhhhh, ok
just wanted to make sure before i did it!!
But... nah, i think ill hold off, as i dont see it being cracked any time soon.... lol
Out of curiosity, couldn't some phones like the lg optimus 7 with direct access to the registry through mfg manually change the registry to label the device as a developer model? Because the way I see it, registry access = full system override. And I don't think the software update can/will remove the lg engineer app.
Thoughts on this?

I wouldn't be so sure, giving him credit as a proved by a+b=c we could install for o2 uk the european nodo rom without goldcard, our fellow member petbede is actually working on a way to sideload apps in a way you would make think your phone it's installling it from marketplace. Until now, if I remember correctly, he's able to sideload like 19 apps. You can follow the progress here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=988672

did you actually see one of his app's or some screen shots from a wifi tether /unlocking app ?
for me that is that you can't unlock it and that there isn't any wifi tethering on wp7 .
ofcourse if we had some prove then that would be real cool .

The guy who was claiming that he could sideload apps on the nodo rom got a letter just minutes before he was going to release it. LOL

HOWDY ALL!!! I tried everything and it ALL works great. But, I got a bit of sad news for you ALL that must have been waiting. I got a letter into my facebook account and my hotmail/live account, it sure is serious issue cuz in the letter I was told to hold back my discoveries or I will find myself in a mess that I cant get out of. The letter went further saying that I should keep my discoveries to myself, the letter said all kind of stuff. I have inform my solicitors about it and they said I should hold on to whatever I discover that the update just newly came out.
Right now, I am confuse cuz we brought the phone not rented it. Please, I will like to hear from you ALL out there on what I should do. THANKS!!!
This has been one of another SAD day for me.
PEACE!!!

I really hoped for some time that he made it, but THAT's just funny
That letter-thing doesn't sound really plausible. Just another guy who wants to get some fame for nothing...
Real people post real letters as proof. Sham.

He had also claimed he was working on android for the hd7 and that his device was halting at the android bootscreen/whatever. Anyways, if you bumped this thread for the nodo unlock, it can be done by using the prevent lock xap and then updating to nodo.. Refer this thread : http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1009974

Actually YES - I know this from personal experience. I did not change my phone over and unlock it untill AFTER I got NoDo. I use the LG Quantum and it has MFG. Below is what you need to unlock, at least with the quantum.
You can unlock the phone by using the MFG registry editor.
Open the MFG app and use the password to open it. If you don't know it's (appmfg#*#)
Go to Engineer Menu -> Other Settings -> Edit Registry
Set your ROOT PATH to "HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE"
Set your input path to "\Comm\Security\LVMod"
Set your input key to "DeveloperUnlockState" and set to DWORD
Hit Query. Output result should return a "0" or a random long number. If it does continue.
Set your input data box to "1" and hit SET. Output result should be 1
How To Keep Your Phone Unlocked
You can keep your phone unlocked and prevent Zune from re-locking it.
Open the MFG app and use the password to open it. If you don't know it's (appmfg#*#)
Go to Engineer Menu -> Other Settings -> Edit Registry
Set your ROOT PATH to "HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE"
Set your input path to "\Software\Microsoft\DeviceReg"
Set your input key to "PortalUrlProd" and set to DWORD
Hit Query. Output result should return data. If it does continue.
Keep your input data box empty and hit SET. Output result should be 0
Keep this screen open and continue to Part 2
Part 2
Set your ROOT PATH to "HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE"
Set your input path to "\Software\Microsoft\DeviceReg"
Set your input key to "PortalUrlInt" and set to DWORD
Hit Query. Output result should return data. If it does continue.
Keep your input data box empty and hit SET. Output result should be 0
Backout to the password screen and shutdown the phone via powerbutton.
Reboot and sync. Your phone should stay unlocked.
Also worth noting, on any phone: if you unlock and do the registry hack to prevent relocking before updating to NoDo, the unlocked state will persist across the update as long as you don't hard-reset. It will, however, not be possible to re-unlock if you do hard-reset the phone after updating at this point, unless you have the aforementioned LG. I'm sure someone will come up with another method that works for NoDo eventually, but it hasn't been done yet.

Yup. I just updated my phone today. I had registry tweaks done to prevent relocking while it was on 7004. After update, phone is still unlocked
Will the method that jlott069 posted work with my LG optimus 7?
Thanks in advance
I have HTC 7 Trophy with latest update :7.0.7392 (I guess it is NoDo). Can I use the method proposed by jlott069 on it to unlock it or is it for LG? And Can I do it now or do I rollback the update?
Thanks
the method was originally posted by airwa1kin7 here. This works on all LG WP7 phones, no other devices. On LG phones this works even after you updated to NoDo and your phone happens to be locked. Follow the instructions and you will unlock your phone and keep it unlocked before and after NoDo.

[Q] Need APN Settings Galaxy S 4G

Would someone be able to supply me with the APN settings for my Galaxy S 4g? This idiot just deleted his. I thought something was wrong with my phone because I had lost all ability to use packet data over anything but Wi-Fi. So while troubleshooting I deleted the default without backing it up. I did figure out why I lost data though. Did you know T-Mobile expects you to pay them EVERY month? The wife thought I paid it and I thought she had.
It's paid now, but I can't find anything here or on google that references that they are specifically for SGS4G. Does it matter? Can I use any?
BTW, if anyone knows any alternate config for APN that claims improved speeds I may as well use those. Never wanted to before because I'm satisfied with my speed, but since I'm adding them back....
Have you tried reseting APN to defaults?
Press the Menu Key
Tap on Settings
Tap on Wireless and network
Tap on Mobile networks
Tap on Access point names
Press the Menu Key and tap on Reset to Default
Don't know if that will work for ya... but other than that you have to call tmobile/yourmobilecarrier to get the settings.

I'm not at my computer right now. But go to the vibrant section and look for the think tank removing data throttle thread. Or Google T-Mobile apn settings and manually enter them on the phone.

Thanks to golmar n blackphnx for the reply, I had googled and found some before posting, but wasn't sure if I it was one size fits all. I tried what you suggested Golmar and it worked except I needed to take a couple more steps beyond your post. You got me in the right direction though. If any other boneheads ever does the same as me, follow the below:
1. Follow steps given by Golmar in post 2 to get to your APN settings but you won't have restore defaults when selecting menu (system won't let you if you do not have any APN. Only can choose to create a new one or cancel from the pop up)
2. What you will see if you have no APN stored is it goes directly to a dialogue asking if you want to create a new one or cancel. Say yes and you get a full form asking for all the detailed APN info (If you say no/cancel it exits back to the previous menu).
3. Enter Name (doesn't matter what) and then epc.tmobile.com in the APN field don't know if you need APN, but I put it in.
4. Now, when you select menu you will have option to Save or Discard. Select Save.
5. Saving brings you to the screen you normally would see to select default APN or another one if you had created. (If you just went through these steps you should see just 1 named whatever you entered in step 3.)
6. At this point you can select menu and choose to restore defaults. Your default APN will return and the dummy just created will be removed.
Good to know!

Samsung Stratosphere 2 - Verizon

Hello,
I want to buy Samsung Stratosphere 2 SCH-i415 from someone who got it from Verizon.
I don't live in US and I want to use it in other country. If I unlock it - can I use it with any mobile carrier?
Thanks
Hey, was looking around the forum for something else and stumbled onto this thread.
Maybe you've already solved this, but here's the answer is anyone else are looking;
First off, if the phone has been activated first time with a verizon sim card in the US already, it should be unlocked and ready for calling and sms. Verizon doesn't sim lock the phone, only lock APN's for GPRS/3G traffic (solution for that below)
Just bought this phone off ebay, got it to Norway and set about using it with a norwegian sim card.
First thing I needed to do was bypass the verizon setup wizard, as it just kept saying "non-verizon sim" and asking me to reboot.
The solution for this was remarkably simple, http://www.youtube.com/watch?feature=player_embedded&v=36lfn9sBo70
"1. Make sure you are on the select language screen.
2. Tap bottom left, Tap bottom right, Tap bottom left, Tap bottom right, Press Volume Up Key in that exact same order. Watch video if you are confused.
3. All Done. "
Next is rooting, need to do this for the next steps;
Depending on what software you have (4.0.4 or 4.1.2), grab the system image from http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2078615 (page 8 for 4.0.4, page 7 for 4.1.2)
Then we want to remove the annoying "non-verizon sim" notification;
Use Titanium Backup pro to freeze the app called "Setup Wizard 1.0" (the one with verizon logo on it, not the version 1.3 one)
Job done. Now you can freely use any sim card anywhere for calling and sms (afaik)
For GPRS/3G traffic you will need to add your APN settings, but Verizon has locked this menu, so we need another way in.
I used "APN Manager Pro" to add my carriers APN data, the app found it in the database and did everything for me.
There are probably other, free ways to do this (editing apn xml file manually and so on) but I found this app well worth the few bucks they charge for it.
If you want to do it manually there are some other guides around here, and googling will get you some hints too.
The only problem I have left now is trying to get mine updated to Jelly Bean, as Verizon only uses OTA update, and won't let me do it from Norway with a non-verizon sim card, but I have faith we will find a solution for this too.
Otherwise a great phone for the full-qwerty addicts out there :good:
Hey I in sweden using a swedish sim card and I got the gprs/3g to work somehow without rooting. I managed to upgrade the firmware via wifi, and I think that opened the apn settings. but my main question is if its possible to open the 4G cause it only has gprs/3G now. and I wonder if u also just get gprs/3g or do get 4g also?
It can't be this easy can it?

Great thanks! I will be testing this out later today. I hope it works!
confirmation
hey guys,
i can confirm i got this working on china mobile with some changes.
didnt find a database option in apn manager. i found the manual data here: (pm for link. not enough posts to make links apparently)
also found in order to get apn manager to save a new apn i needed to make it a system app with titanium.
also found, you dont need apn manager at all. if you go to settings ->more settings->mobile networks->access point names and then hit the "menue" button (three vertical dots at the bottom right of the phone), you get an option to add access point. fill out your info, and hit that button again, and you will see an option to save.
hope that helps someone else.
Look at the thread [Q] Rooting the Samsung Stratosphere II? (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2078615&page=27) at page 27 post #262 how to get a rooted image of MF1.
And in the same thread at page 31 post #305 how to get a rooted image of MJ2 which is currently (feb 2014) the latest ROM version for Stratosphere II.
Thanks to kado01 for his work.
I has been confirmed that the Stratosphere II can be rooted by the saferoot method.
Look in the above link at page 26 post #257.
Since version MF1 you can easily access the APN settings. So, no need to install any APN manager.
I have simply added the APN settings for my network provider manually and it works great.
And finally please take a look at the above thread at page 31 post #308 and the following to help kado01 get an unbrick file for his problem?
I can't do it because I am unable to upgrade my phone to MJ2 with the MJ2 bootloader because I don't live in the US and my phone is not activated on Verizons network. I can only install kado01's MJ2 rooted image.
Thanks.
Add new APN possible
How to add apn to verizon samasung galaxy stratosphere 2 i415 (Root required)
(I found this from some forum while I was searching for how to add APN for my brothers Verizon S3. It worked 100%. All credits go to the guy who posted it there. I didn't remember the address. And sorry for my bad english.)
Go to market install BuildProp Editor
Once installed find and open Build Prop Editor
Hit the menu button and select Edit
Scroll to the bottom of screen and add the following lines
ril.sales_code=LOL
ro.csc.sales_code=LOL
Hit the save button at the top right hand corner of the screen(looks like a disk)
Once this is done saving restart the phone
After restarting go to Settings>More Settings>Mobile Networks>Access Point Names>Menu Button>+ New APN
Add desired carriers APN info, when finished hit menu button and save
Power down and change to your desired SIM card if you hadn't already done so
Power back on and go to Settings>More Settings>Mobile Networks> Access Point Names (if done properly you should see the APN data you entered for your respective carrier).
Select the respective APN listing and then you should have working data
Congrats you can now natively add in any APN desired.

Honor 6 L04 issues with the Lollipop update

After downloading and flashing the official B521 update, sure there was no usable keyboard app, so I had to voice search to a 3rd party site to download one, but other than that all was well... or so I thought. I happened to switch my phone's mobile data setting to 3G only, during a spot of bad reception (the constant switching made it impossible to do anything), after which I realised that this update had removed all the LTE options from the dropdown menu.
My first instinct was to go to the "project act menu" from the dialler, but that would not load at all, when typed in correctly and confirmed...the phone just clears the number input area and doesn't open any menu. At this point, I did not know how I was going to sort out the issue, I thought maybe a .prop or .db file would be the answer. I have edited such files on other phones to do a number of things, should be simple right? Boy was I wrong.
Before beginning to poke around I did some searches of course, and found that you can get the 4G options back, by editing a value in the /data/data/com.android.providers.settings/databases/settings.db ...So I unlocked my bootloader, rooted, and did just that. Put the file back in place, swell, guess I'll reboot. Then it froze on the Honor logo, impossible to turn off, with good timing--I was able to access the stock recovery and fastboot modes.
Since then I have been able to get my phone to boot by deleting the settings.db, so that Android created a new one, only problem is... this new file of course has so much hardware specific things missing from it...It's kind of a joke. All I wanted to do was allow myself to freely switch between 4G and 3G on the Lollipop update, and in trying to do so, bricked the device and had to lose all the stock settings in order to get it working again.
I changed the permissions and ownership of my edited settings.db (as best as I could in root explorer) after replacing it, but nothing seems to help as far as I can tell, if the settings stay I cannot boot.
How exactly am I meant to get the original database back? I assume if I can downgrade to the Kitkat, that will sort that side out, but even if I do that...and then reflash Lollipop... I'm still going to be losing the 4G option, unless I never change it from auto--ever.
This is just silly and frustrating... Literally all I want is the official settings.db for this phone on lollipop aside from: the network modes changed so that I can switch between 2G/3G/4G, 3G only, and 4G only modes. I cannot for the life of me figure out how to do this on my own, and I wish I made a backup before trying...
Please help, thanks~

Cannot find OEM Unlock for Samsung galaxy s21 + 5g

Last month, I decided that I wanted to try rooting my Samsung galaxy s21 + 5g (model name SM-g996u), and I got as far as unlocking the network before I hit a snag. In all of the tutorials I have looked at concerning how to root my device, they all keep saying that I need to OEM Unlock my phone under the developer settings. However, as the title of this post would indicate, that setting is not present in the development settings. I have just about lost my damn mind trying to find and enable this setting via online tutorials, and I keep coming across the same suggestions: configure date/time setting so that it is not automatically set, manually set the date back a couple of months, go to dev settings and disable auto-update system setting, disable 'Download updates automatically' setting in software update (this is the only step I was not able to follow because that setting appears to have been removed from more updated version), and restart the device. I even tried removing my sim card, resetting my phone, and retrying the previously outlined steps. Nothing has worked. Is there anyone out there that can help me with this? Any info would be great.
Is device leased from a carrier, e.g Verizon? AFAIK by default this phone has OEM Unlock option in Android's Developer Options.

This device(all of the US models) doesn't have the OEM unlock option. As far as I know, these devices have to be unlocked via a paid service from a 3rd party.

Is device leased from a carrier, e.g Verizon? AFAIK by default this phone has OEM Unlock option in Android's Developer Options.

Device has been paid off. It is also network unlocked as well. The device was originally leased from Tmobile. I am aware that the setting is supposed to be in developer settings. I am telling you, it is not showing up for me.

May I'm wrong but the fact that the client have covered the contract, doesn't mean that the carrier do that, if a special petition was not presented to them, then, they don't care about. If the device came with a firmware that came with that feature disabled, so it, also, ends its "normal" life with the same featured included (or not) in the firmware by default.
But you could make advantage from the network unlocked condition, switching to a different firmware it would be possible, and, the option may appear.

I have seen that suggestion mentioned before online, though I have not really found any good tutorials on how to go about doing that. Any suggestions?

This may be just a kind of starting point, to have in mind, but that need more research though, I did it in my GN8 but with your device, things may be different.
There are some things you have to check, in the download screen, KG has to be completed, not prenormal or checking, also search for the CSCs that are compatible for your device, this is one of the tutorial, kind of, that I followed https://www.getdroidtips.com/guide-...ocked-firmware-galaxy-note-8-sm-n950u-n950u1/
