Hello,
I want to buy Samsung Stratosphere 2 SCH-i415 from someone who got it from Verizon.
I don't live in US and I want to use it in other country. If I unlock it - can I use it with any mobile carrier?
Thanks
Hey, was looking around the forum for something else and stumbled onto this thread.
Maybe you've already solved this, but here's the answer is anyone else are looking;
First off, if the phone has been activated first time with a verizon sim card in the US already, it should be unlocked and ready for calling and sms. Verizon doesn't sim lock the phone, only lock APN's for GPRS/3G traffic (solution for that below)
Just bought this phone off ebay, got it to Norway and set about using it with a norwegian sim card.
First thing I needed to do was bypass the verizon setup wizard, as it just kept saying "non-verizon sim" and asking me to reboot.
The solution for this was remarkably simple, http://www.youtube.com/watch?feature=player_embedded&v=36lfn9sBo70
"1. Make sure you are on the select language screen.
2. Tap bottom left, Tap bottom right, Tap bottom left, Tap bottom right, Press Volume Up Key in that exact same order. Watch video if you are confused.
3. All Done. "
Next is rooting, need to do this for the next steps;
Depending on what software you have (4.0.4 or 4.1.2), grab the system image from http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2078615 (page 8 for 4.0.4, page 7 for 4.1.2)
Then we want to remove the annoying "non-verizon sim" notification;
Use Titanium Backup pro to freeze the app called "Setup Wizard 1.0" (the one with verizon logo on it, not the version 1.3 one)
Job done. Now you can freely use any sim card anywhere for calling and sms (afaik)
For GPRS/3G traffic you will need to add your APN settings, but Verizon has locked this menu, so we need another way in.
I used "APN Manager Pro" to add my carriers APN data, the app found it in the database and did everything for me.
There are probably other, free ways to do this (editing apn xml file manually and so on) but I found this app well worth the few bucks they charge for it.
If you want to do it manually there are some other guides around here, and googling will get you some hints too.
The only problem I have left now is trying to get mine updated to Jelly Bean, as Verizon only uses OTA update, and won't let me do it from Norway with a non-verizon sim card, but I have faith we will find a solution for this too.
Otherwise a great phone for the full-qwerty addicts out there :good:
Hey I in sweden using a swedish sim card and I got the gprs/3g to work somehow without rooting. I managed to upgrade the firmware via wifi, and I think that opened the apn settings. but my main question is if its possible to open the 4G cause it only has gprs/3G now. and I wonder if u also just get gprs/3g or do get 4g also?
It can't be this easy can it?

Great thanks! I will be testing this out later today. I hope it works!
confirmation
hey guys,
i can confirm i got this working on china mobile with some changes.
didnt find a database option in apn manager. i found the manual data here: (pm for link. not enough posts to make links apparently)
also found in order to get apn manager to save a new apn i needed to make it a system app with titanium.
also found, you dont need apn manager at all. if you go to settings ->more settings->mobile networks->access point names and then hit the "menue" button (three vertical dots at the bottom right of the phone), you get an option to add access point. fill out your info, and hit that button again, and you will see an option to save.
hope that helps someone else.
Look at the thread [Q] Rooting the Samsung Stratosphere II? (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2078615&page=27) at page 27 post #262 how to get a rooted image of MF1.
And in the same thread at page 31 post #305 how to get a rooted image of MJ2 which is currently (feb 2014) the latest ROM version for Stratosphere II.
Thanks to kado01 for his work.
I has been confirmed that the Stratosphere II can be rooted by the saferoot method.
Look in the above link at page 26 post #257.
Since version MF1 you can easily access the APN settings. So, no need to install any APN manager.
I have simply added the APN settings for my network provider manually and it works great.
And finally please take a look at the above thread at page 31 post #308 and the following to help kado01 get an unbrick file for his problem?
I can't do it because I am unable to upgrade my phone to MJ2 with the MJ2 bootloader because I don't live in the US and my phone is not activated on Verizons network. I can only install kado01's MJ2 rooted image.
Thanks.
Add new APN possible
How to add apn to verizon samasung galaxy stratosphere 2 i415 (Root required)
(I found this from some forum while I was searching for how to add APN for my brothers Verizon S3. It worked 100%. All credits go to the guy who posted it there. I didn't remember the address. And sorry for my bad english.)
Go to market install BuildProp Editor
Once installed find and open Build Prop Editor
Hit the menu button and select Edit
Scroll to the bottom of screen and add the following lines
ril.sales_code=LOL
ro.csc.sales_code=LOL
Hit the save button at the top right hand corner of the screen(looks like a disk)
Once this is done saving restart the phone
After restarting go to Settings>More Settings>Mobile Networks>Access Point Names>Menu Button>+ New APN
Add desired carriers APN info, when finished hit menu button and save
Power down and change to your desired SIM card if you hadn't already done so
Power back on and go to Settings>More Settings>Mobile Networks> Access Point Names (if done properly you should see the APN data you entered for your respective carrier).
Select the respective APN listing and then you should have working data
Congrats you can now natively add in any APN desired.

I have bought a G1 out of T-mobile coverage area (something like JailBreak Phone).
I got firmware version RC19 and while i do a factory setting, to change the google acount, system ask me to config new google account, but i have no way to connect to internet, eighter via wifi or APN.
Could someone tell me how to bypass this initial setup sreen, or any firmware edited is skip step.
PS: I got unlock number from T-Mobile, and originally this phone could not connect to APN of my local carrier. (No G, E or 3G sign to indicate GPRS, EGPRS or 3G support)
Your kind advice on this issue is high appreciated.
You have to Insert T-Mobile Internet Enabled SIM and Activate using your Google Password. till now there is bypass method available.
Thanks for your information.
Anyway, could you tell me why my G1 could not connect GPRS for my local carrier, is it because it's a jailbreak or because it only have R19 firmware (i have test connection since it still not get stuck at initial setup).
If I update firmware when the phone system say that there is update, will the phone back to the initial setup screen again or not?
Hi!
If you dont have a t-mobile sim card you need a unlock code for use other sim card. when you have it you need to start the phone in Safe Mode and configure the new APN for your sim card.
When you finish it you can use you gmail account for setup by 3g or 2g.
Just read you IMSI from SIM Card
Suppose it start with 40490
Means 404 is MCC (Mobile Country Code) and 90 is MNC (Mobile Network Code).
MNC and MCC is also Important to Auto Detect and Select Correct APN Set by phone after matching it with your SIM Card,
So in APN Put Correct MNC and MCC also
Hmmm. If you have RC19, I bet we can get it to work. It won't be easy though. Shoot me an IM sometime if you want some help. I find that type of thing is much easier if done interactively, rather than trying to write out full instructions all at once
See my new post here for an overview of a process that will allow you to register. It doesn't have specific step by step instructions though, so you'll have to adapt it to your particular situation.
skip
just thought i'd mention for anyone coming across this thread in the future ... you can simply skip the registration. the initial page the allows you to select new account or sign in also has a skip. skip, then configure wifi. the next time you try to access a google service it will prompt you to run through the configure step again.
edit: sigh. i guess even if you get the network setup and working, you still need a SIM to configure the google services. never mind.

This is not possible, unless you have a custom ROM, I guess you must be using something like CyanogenMod

uh wow this topic is over a year old where did you find it?
Anyway if you bought your phone legit it should of came with a non registered sim card. Stick that in and everything should work (it did for me). If you use an eclair rom you don't even need to skip registration you will just be asked to login to a wifi portal and go from their.
Nooo! The zombie thread will eat my brains!
Seriously, this is oooooold. This issue is long since resolved... I have no idea why you would res this thread. And, yeah, the skip option is only in custom ROMs. I'm pretty sure Cyanogen added it in one of the 3.x versions of his ROM. That's the earliest I remember seeing it, though I did use CyanogenMod for a long time with no wipe after I decided to try it instead of JF. Ah, the nostalgia...
Would someone be able to supply me with the APN settings for my Galaxy S 4g? This idiot just deleted his. I thought something was wrong with my phone because I had lost all ability to use packet data over anything but Wi-Fi. So while troubleshooting I deleted the default without backing it up. I did figure out why I lost data though. Did you know T-Mobile expects you to pay them EVERY month? The wife thought I paid it and I thought she had.
It's paid now, but I can't find anything here or on google that references that they are specifically for SGS4G. Does it matter? Can I use any?
BTW, if anyone knows any alternate config for APN that claims improved speeds I may as well use those. Never wanted to before because I'm satisfied with my speed, but since I'm adding them back....
Have you tried reseting APN to defaults?
Press the Menu Key
Tap on Settings
Tap on Wireless and network
Tap on Mobile networks
Tap on Access point names
Press the Menu Key and tap on Reset to Default
Don't know if that will work for ya... but other than that you have to call tmobile/yourmobilecarrier to get the settings.

Thanks to golmar n blackphnx for the reply, I had googled and found some before posting, but wasn't sure if I it was one size fits all. I tried what you suggested Golmar and it worked except I needed to take a couple more steps beyond your post. You got me in the right direction though. If any other boneheads ever does the same as me, follow the below:
1. Follow steps given by Golmar in post 2 to get to your APN settings but you won't have restore defaults when selecting menu (system won't let you if you do not have any APN. Only can choose to create a new one or cancel from the pop up)
2. What you will see if you have no APN stored is it goes directly to a dialogue asking if you want to create a new one or cancel. Say yes and you get a full form asking for all the detailed APN info (If you say no/cancel it exits back to the previous menu).
3. Enter Name (doesn't matter what) and then epc.tmobile.com in the APN field don't know if you need APN, but I put it in.
4. Now, when you select menu you will have option to Save or Discard. Select Save.
5. Saving brings you to the screen you normally would see to select default APN or another one if you had created. (If you just went through these steps you should see just 1 named whatever you entered in step 3.)
6. At this point you can select menu and choose to restore defaults. Your default APN will return and the dummy just created will be removed.
Good to know!
Recently unlocked an AT&T HTC Surround to use it with my T-Mobile service and everything works fine except I can't receive or send MMS messages.
Can someone PLEASE PLEASE help me? I've googled and search everywhere and all I get is to download the Connection Setup App but apparently it doesn't exist anymore?
Also, I saw something about using Mango? But I'm confused about that.
For some reason, HTC has pulled the Connection Setup app from the marketplace (no official reason that I've seen as to why). They haven't revoked it from phones where it's already installed, but if you don't have it already you can't just install it from the HTC Apps section anymore.
If your phone is dev-unlocked (and interop-unlocked if on Mango), you can sideload Connection Setup and it might work. If not, I can't help you. Sorry!
How do I dev-unlock and interop-unlock on Mango? I downloaded Mango but have no idea how to use it on my phone.
Right now my phone is just unlocked so I can use my t-mobile sim card and service on it. I don't know what that is called?
From what I've heard is you just hard reset it and it should be fine?
@wedbaby: If you phone is on Mango already, there's no known way to interop-unlock an HTC phone without rolling it back to pre-Mango. Dev-unlock can be done by getting an official developer account ($99 unless you're a student) or through ChevronWP7 Labs (http://labs.chevronwp7.com) for $9. It has nothing to do with SIM-unlock (what you did to your phone already).
MMS issue on HTC Surround for TMobile solved
As I got no help from TMobile support team on MMS problem I had to find my own way . Here it goes:
1. Go to settings.
2.Choose cellular.
3.Set Data transmission to on.
4.Roaming- setting does not metter.
5.Here comes the trick: Network selection has to be manual, manually select TMobile.
6.Enjoy
I have three HTC Surrounds in my family. All of them have DFT Mango rom installed, and they are unlocked (sim and dev).
Let me know if it works for you guys.
I purchased an (at&t unlocked)HTC SURROUND but I am on the tmobile network....SOOOOOO...I called tmobile...Who told me that ''they couldnt promise me that they could help me and if the info they give me was gonna work.''......But their info actually did get my HTC to sending and recieving MMS messages INSTANTLY!... So I want to share this with you hoping that it will solve your issues also.....
1. From the MAIN screen..Tap MARKETPLACE...
2. Tap HTC APPS
3. Scroll down and tap CONNECTION SETUP (wait a few seconds and an INSTALL icon should pop up at the bottom of the screen)
4. Tap INSTALL
5. You will see the screen jump back and you will see CONNECTION SETUP dowloading to the phone
6. Once it dowloads...Tap CONNECTION SETUP
7.Tap the bottom of the screen to pull out a pop-up
8. Tap MANUAL SELECT
9. Tap COUNTRY and select UNITED STATES
10.Tap CARRIER and select TMOBILE US
11. Tap the ''check mark''
12. Once it shows that it has configured to the network...power your phone off n then bck on...
THEN TRY AND SEND URSELF A MESSAGE!!!...HOPE IT WORKS FOR YOU!!!
Short version: "Use the Connection Setup app". You might not have noticed, but when this thread was posted that app wasn't available in the marketplace (the OP specifically mentioned it). Thanks for necroposting, though!
Wow!!!!...thanks...smh... I apologize for givn a step by step set-up!!!...smh
And there is availability of a xap to install? And not found in the market
Connection Setup shows up in the market just fine for me... are you not on an HTC phone?
It's under the HTC Apps section.
This guide it will show how to change APN on Kyocera Brigadier and get rid of Verizon Bloatware.
This is for those who use Brigadier in other network (country ) than Verizon USA.
This tutorial is for Windows only. (because drivers and Debloater software)
1. Go to Settings then scroll down to "About phone" and then down to "Build number". Click on the item 7 times in a row. This will say Now you are a Developer.
2 Open the "Developer Options" and mark "USB debugging".
3. First make sure you have installed correctly the drivers for Kyocera Brigadier and your computer sees properly the phone.
You can install drivers from here
4. Connect the phone and select Media Sync Mode. (now the computer must see your E6782). Cancel the installation of Verizon software.
5. Go here to download and install Debloater. (skip warnings of your windows or antivirus)
6. Open Debloater (your phone still connected to computer) (make sure the phone is connected before open Debloater)
7. In up left corner you have "Read Device Packages" - press it, (t will read the processes of your phone)
8. Check the apps (first column) or processes (second column) that you don´t want to use.
Search for qualcomm and check qcrilmsgtunnel.apk alias com.qualcomm.qcrilmsgtunnel (this is what block the editing of APN)
I checked all Amazon, Nhl, all Verizon except VZWService (it will mess the programmable button and every time you open the phone it will ask for program it)
9. When you finish to mark click Apply and wait for Debloater block all services.
10. Disconnect your phone and go to Settings > More > Mobile Networks > Access Point Names and you will see in right corner a plus. Click it and introduce your Network provider settings and save.
Usually on name put whatever you want, on APN put net and APN type put default but you can check on provider's website for manual settings.
11. Check on mobile data, close Wi-Fi and verify if you have mobile internet.
12. Restart the phone and then go back and verify if you can edit again APN. (if not, repeat steps 6-10)
GOOD LUCK!

Hi!!
I've tried on my kyocera brigadier, installing usb driver for windows 7 64-bit,installed debloader (v3.15) and skipped the installation of Verizon software.
Usb debug mode and windows mediasync enabled.
I opened Debloader and the phone was correctly recognised by the program (2 green dot but not the one for the brigadier rooted naturally).
The problem is that when I click on the button that says "Read Device packages",it doesn't read anything! It is stuck on "processing 0 files..." and nothing else happens!!
Someone has had more luck than me?
thank you!!
P.S: mine is an Italian provider "Wind" and the proper apn is "internet.wind"
Sorry te hear this... Usually, all people who I spoke did it right and it always works. So I belive it's a problem with your software... Normally it should work. Try to uninstall and reinstall the software and the drivers... But if you say you see 2 greens circles idk what happens...

How to get Kyocera DuraScout in RO
Hi Obsy,
Can you please help me with some information on this phone, which version to get, from where and if it fully works in Romania. I am not really knowledgeable with phones...
1. Is the US Verizon version of e6782 (they call it Brigadier) capable of GSM connection?
2. There is a version for US small provider BlueGrass, do you know if this is the same as Verizon? of different is some way?
3. On Kyocera site there is also a version called DuraScout, is it the same as Brigadier? What I could understand is that Brigadier might be the CDMA version, and DuraScout the GSM version. Do you have an idea if this is so or not?
4. If we can change the APN in Romania to work on Orange, does it fully work? I mean LTE speed and HSDPA?
Do all other functions work?
5. Is The Verizon version locked in some other way than APN?
Thank you very much for your answer.
PS: I wrote in english because I see this is an english forum.
HI! Yes it's an international forum so usually English it's a must.
I will merge 1,2,3 questions and 4 with 5, so:
First, about Brigadier from Bluegrass idk to much things about frequency but I guess it's identically.
Between Brigadier and Durascout I always choose Brigadier because of Sapphire screen and dedicated camera button. What I don't like is the back of phone.
Second, the Brigadier works very well in Romania. (I'm on Orange too) It won't work LTE but HSPA+. I have a friend which said he could make 4G work (he did it on Hydro Life) but it must root.
Until we can make root there is some Verizon services who I can't stop but I don't bother anymore coz my interest was mobile data.
In the Bluegrass version I think exist much less bloatware but it's a little expensive...
Send me a message with your telephone number to discuss more.

Sorry, I made a mistake... A confusion between Durascout and Duraforce... So Durascout is identically with Brigadier the only difference is branding (Verizon vs Kyocera). Duraforce from AT&T is the one without Sapphire screen and camera button

How To Change APN For Mobile Data On Kyocera Brigadier
I got a Kyocera Brigadier today and made the change to allow APN changes. Then I tried a T-Mobile SIM card, but I get only data, no phone calls or texts. Does anybody know what I should try next?
Curious because normally we can do calls and sms but no data.... Only if u get a coded phone by Verizon and the things are a little complicated. From where you get the phone and how much?

How To Change APN For Mobile Data On Kyocera Brigadier
I downloaded Debloater last night and made the change to allow access to the APN Settings. At the risk of pointing out the obvious, not all cables are created equally. The first micro USB cable appeared to connect to the Brigadier, but I could connect with that software. I tried a different micro USB cable and suddenly Debloater was able to connect with the Brigadier and I made the update. So, just in case anybody here has similar problems communicating wiht the phone, give some thought to trying a different sync cable!
Are All T-Mobile Nano SIM Cards Created Equally?
As posted above, is there more than one type of T-Mobile nano SIM card? Here is why I ask. Recently I bought a Kyocera Brigadier.
-It phone works great with a Verizon nano SIM card.
-I unlocked it with Bebloater software to allow the APN settings to be changed.
-The phone works great with an AT&T SIM card.
-Today I stopped at a T-Mobile store, they removed a nano SIM card from an Apple iPhone 6 and the Kyocera Brigadier worked great.
-Later I stopped at a different T-Mobile store, activated a brand new nano SIM card and the Brigadier Kyocera turns off and on constantly with that SIM card.
So, I am just wondering why the Brigadier would work fine with SIM card that was already activated, but not with a new activation?

Great! Thanks so much, now data is fine.
I an in NZ, with 2Degrees mobile.
Phone worked for voice, but no data. (phone is version 1.102)
2 minor problems:
1) kyocera drivers have extension .MAN , need to rename to .MSI
2)Initially the usb debugging permission prompt on the phone was hidden behind some other app or something, so the ADB wasn't connecting.
So I am left with 2 issues:
- powerup FUD message: "This Sim Card is from an Unknown Source"
The fix is supposed to be to freeze the setup wizard, but I have done that from debloater, and I still get the message.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/ver...elp-please-t2815912/post56990094#post56990094
2) Can't do phone update. I suspect I need to get a verizon SIM card to do the update
Welcome!
I didn't managed to get rid of the annoying message...
For update the phone u must have an activated Verizon SIM card
Regards!

Do you think it will work OK from overseas with the verizon card?
Not sure what to get, looking on ebay, there are a confusing plethora of sim cards, many of which seem to be specific to iphone or cdma and so on.....

shows KitKat having a setup menu item
Devices->Buttons->Home Button Wake
On the brigadier this seems to have been replaced with the "Programmable Key" item.
Any ideas to get the default Kit Kat "Buttons" option back again?
I find the power button wake pretty cack-handed and annoying, and the programmable key is not very responsive.
I have the original Verizon SIM card which the phone came with but unfortunately I cannot activate it from my country... No signal... So none of Verizon function work.
Verizon input a lot of annoying things (software) to Brigadier... I have set the red key to wake up the phone. (you must long press the button)
I think there is a lot of apps that can remap the buttons but I guess it must root...

If you like, you can post the SIM to my son in USA, and I will get him to take it to a Verizon store, and ask them to activate it.
Can't really guarantee success - anything to do with US cellphone companies seems to be problems! But anyway, probably worth the cost of an envelope....
Then he can post it back to me, and I will send it to you.
Thanks for your help but to activate the SIM it is necessary a plan to be paid so I cancelled this idea.
Regards!

They do seem to have paygo plans, and a $15 load looks like the min. $15 expires in a month, but most countries sims seem to live for 3-12 months without any load.
Todays problem is that there is no audio from my microphone to the person I am calling. My microphone is electrically and acoustically working as there is internal echo i.e. as I speak I can hear an echo coming out of the earpiece, and in speakerphone I can get feedback.
But when I call another phone, they hear nothing.
If I use sound recorder, nothing is recorded either.
Enabling everything I disabled makes no difference......
Do you know if I do a factory reset, will I need a Verizon SIM again to get the phone going?
Or can I get it working again with a local SIM?
You can do factory reset without any SIM, but I think it won't resolve anything... It might be an hardware issue. Better you can write to Kyocera about this problem. I have an annoying delay (the other person can't hear me for 1-2 seconds) after answering and another problem is a fizzle at every sounds played, even if the phone is on silent. These are software problems... So.. Good luck!

When I first got this phone back in March I bricked it the next day playing around with it. @petermg posted the firmwares for this device on July 24th. Luckily I kept it. Big thanks to him for sharing them.
This method also works on the Boost Mobile LG G Stylo LS770 which I have tested on AT&T, also.
Downloaded the files from the Sprint LG G3 SIM Unlock guide.
You will need:
a rooted device
Shortcut Master lite (in the Play Store)
Root Browser (in the Play Store)
files in attachment
1. Go to Settings/About Phone/Software Info and hit build number 7 times to enable Developer Options
2. Go to Developer Options and make sure Enable OEM Unlock and USB Debugging is checked.
3. Root with Kingroot
4. Download Root Browser from the Play Store
5. Open Root Browser, go to /carrier/apps and delete everything in it.
6. Copy the files from the attachment below to the same folder /carrier/apps. Make sure the permissions are set correctly. 'node.db' needs to be set at rw-rw 0660, 'node.db-journal' needs to be set at rw 0600. You can use Root Browser. I had no issues.
7. Now to go /data/data/com.android.providers.telephony/databases and delete everything in it.
Now would be a good time to go to Settings/Mobile Networks/Network Mode/ and put it on GSM/UMTS
8. Power Down phone, put in your GSM SIM card, and boot on up.
9. Open up Shortcut Master lite and do a search for 'apn' without the quotes. We are looking for one that says Hidden Menu com.lge.hiddenmenu.ModemProtocol.ApnSettings. I attached a pic. Once you select it, you will need to hold down the recent windows button and choose New APN, or just select the one already there from Sprint/Boost and edit it. Your choice...
Once you are done adding/editing APN, don't forget to hit the recent window button again to save APN. If you just hit the back button, you will have to redo it. Once saved, then make sure it is selected. Your data should show up.
Things to keep in mind:
You might not get LTE. Sprint has different bands/frequencies than GSM.
You will get HSPA & HSPA+. I did a speed test on AT&T Go Phone SIM and was getting 12mbps easily.
I did a ##72786# BEFORE I did these steps. Every reboot it tries to do a Hands Free Activation. It doesn't mess nothing up, but just annoying. Also I get a message saying 'can't complete init setup due to GSM network' You can ignore that also. Also, since my device wasn't activated first, my hotspot options disappeared. I haven't found a way to put it back yet.
Signal Meter only shows 3G, but Settings/Status shows HSPA or HSPAP (+) (see screenshots)
I think the SIM card you are going to use has to be active? I tried a T-mobile SIM and didn't get no signal. My AT&T SIM was. Let us know, please.
To undo what we just did, just dial ##72786# in dialer. My Tribute 5 is bad ESN for Boost Mobile, so I can't activate it to get rid of the HFA or get the hotspot feature back. I'm sure someone here will figure it out.
I did do an extra step with Shortcut Master, but I don't think it is required. Its just another way to set the Network Mode to GSM/WCDMA/ when Boost Mobile actually gives us the option without leaving it out. Since it is a 'Global' Phone
Post your screenshots of some Speed Tests. Lets see what this phone is capable of.

Boost Mobile lg LS675
Hi, I have the exact same phone.. I did everything step by step all the way to where I'm to go to settings I did not get the option to select GSM. only LTE/CDMA and CDMA.
I rooted with kingo root, downloaded root browser, shortcut master lite, downloaded attach. files , deleted current files on /carrier/apps and pasted downloaded ones. I fixed the permission to node.db' needs to be set at rw-rw 0660, 'node.db-journal' needs to be set at rw 0600.. ,
I deleted the files on /data/data/com.android.providers.telephony/databases.. Once I went into settings as suggested that's where i'm stuck since I don't have the GSM option. I will try to reset my phone to factory and starting fresh... hoping it might work. Any suggestions.. One thing I did notice is that once i restart my phone the files on /data/data/com.android.providers.telephony/databases , re appear once I restart my phone.. If you can help me.. That will be so awesome!! If not I'll keep trying regardless.. Thank's in advance..
Okay so I was able to get it going following this similar steps..
1. root phone with kingoroot (2). download root browser and shortcut master lite from play store. (3) download attached files node.db and node.db-journal ( i placed them in root internal memory phone) (4) open root browser and navigate to /carrier/apps and delete original node.db,node.db-journal and replace with downloaded ones, hold each file and click on permissions to set node.db to rw-rw 0660, node.db-journal to rw 0600, (5). turn off the phone and add desired sim then turn the phone back on.(6).open shortcut master lite and search com.lge.hiddenmenu.jcm_only.networkmode. launch it. also I added to favorite and home not sure if its necessary but i did it. select LTE/GSM/WCDMA.. or select gsm only and then LTE/GSM/WCDMA and you will notice your sim connects to your network. Tested and working so far.. I will try apn and keep you updated.

Hi. if you want to change the icon 3g to 4g, just edit the ro.build.target_operador = SPR line, you can put ro.build.target_operador = att and reboot and see 4g. no matter which operator sim use. 4g icon always reflect

Nope. Page Plus is Verizon. They have to put the MEID on the account just like Boost/Sprint. If said MEID ain't in the Verizon system, they won't take it.
I rooted and unlocked my LG675 Boost. After putting my SIM card (MetroPCS) in the phone still says Emergency Calls Only. What did I do wrong? I followed all the steps mentioned above. I even have the APN set to MetroPCS.
Any luck with Tribute HD rooting and unlock? Any help is much appreciated.

Everything went great for me except for one thing. I accidentally deleted the original apn settings before i could edit in the ones I would need for T-Mobile. i can recieve MMS and voice calls but have no internet. Is there a way for me to see insert the settings I need without having to download and flash the whole Kdz file and start over? When I dial ##72786#, nothing switches back to default so I have to do everything in reverse but cant un-delete what is gone. I really appreciate any help. Thanks alot
Finally got it to work. Getiing good signal (talk, text,& data) using Family Mobile sim card. Thanks for the tutorial. Awesome

Hey. I wanted to help. If you successfully unlocked correctly, which it sounds like you did, you can use MetroPCS. However, you need to call MetroPCS first and let them know you are switching phones. You basically have to "ask for permission". This is why I hate Boost & Metro and never recommend the services to anyone. Metro will verify the imei is clean, then they will pair your sims iccid to the phone imei. After that your in business. Make sure you set your apn to get data working.

Is the same file for the ls770?
Why the file when I release it says ls675
