With everything that's been available to the public, honeycomb sdk, xoom tablet, would it be possible to port the HC keyboard apk like people did for gingerbread? I like the way it looks.

Looks like Motorola will be the first company to successfully make a 10" tablet using Honeycomb, if their Youtube video is any indication,
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=quI2I8wLPdc
and some of the other hype,

When Honeycomb comes out, will we be able to benefit on the G Tablet? Will it be easy to install it on our machines?
Assuming Honeycomb will be as open source as any other Android OS then the short answer should be yes! If we can run an AOSP on the gTab then Honeycomb should work flawlessly!
Can't wait!
Im hoping that VS will get a stock rom for us when google releases it into the wild. Vs seems to want to make this device better and it only makes sense that an OS for tablets would be the best way to do it. Once they finally release the source image we will get an even better device. The guys are doing a great job now getting this thing flying VegaN is perfect for me right now. But an os optimized for dual core is going to be amazing!

So I hate the gingerbread keyboard and prefer the froyo keyboard. After searching for a couple of hours it seems that no one has been able to port it.
Looking through the market I found this.
Install this keyboard from the market. I am not the maker of this and it is a free product.
Its the FroYo keyboard and it works on gingerbread cm7.

Thanks for the link man! Been searching for ages.

Why does it seem like the galaxy tab gets more developer attention than the xoom? Is it easier or what? They have all kinds of roms whereas the xoom has like 2. Just a question.

The car thing is some what right. The xoom came out as a "kit car", you'll need this and that BEFORE you can drive it. Where as the galaxy came complete. You can just drive it off the lot. So there is more interest in the galaxy.
That seems lame. I love my xoom. Just want to customize it more. I have no developing skills although I wish I had some. I used a adb for the first time with the xoom and it took a lot of trial and error. I have the galaxy s and flashing stuff is so easy on it(via Odin and cwm). Just wish the xoom would get more attention.

The reason why we are not seeing ROM's is because the Honeycomb source code has not been release nor will it ever be. We will have to wait until Ice Cream Sandwich for ROM's to start popping up.
Thanks for the info gq. Seems pretty craptacular....hahaha. Well c'mon ICS. Can't wait for that release

Also can't wait for Ice Cream Sandwich!
Need some rom for my xomm
last I heard, ICS isn't coming until Q3ish. Any updates?
Q3 Q4 who knows for sure. They just need to hurry up. It feels like tablets are kinda lacking in dev stuff.

why in iconia tab they are able to have touchwiz and is not the same for us?
for you in the next future will be possible to mount web os3 on our xoom?
and that you know is there some new launcher dedicate to honeycomb? or u know if some one is developing it?
i love my xoom like it is, but i love play on it too.

I try to donate to all who develope for my devices, my way of letting them know its appriciated and to keep up the good work, if you cant spare much, no biggie, everyone likes to get donations, even if its a dollar or two.
On another note we could make it appear to be a rom, but would only be a theme, a sham. Its definatly source code realese that is the problem.
Ice cream sanwich is google bringing honeycomb to the phone right, i thought, ics on phones, but honeycomb on tablets(because of its tablet opimization). Someone please correct me if im wrong, still fuzzy on the part.
Last thing, still cant decode 3.2 apks with sdk, still getting brut error, anyone have any knowledge of when brut will be realeasing this fix?
ICS is supposed to be the best from gingerbread and the best from honeycomb mashed together with some other goodies included, hince the name it is also to be universal for both phones and tablets, that way making apps much more abundant.
I am also excited for what it will bring the demo at the google i/o conf was amazing to say the least and i am sure the just scratched the surface.
Don't forget that alot of developers were give a samsung Google I.O.
I'm sure it helped a bit not having to pay for one.
Is it possible to get Honeycomb or ICS on my USCC Samsung Mesmerize SCH-i500, rooted or not, yet or at all ever or are those only for tablets?
I thought I read an article about 4.0 being ported to smartphone & a way to install it from the SDcard but an emergency came up, my history auto deletes on closing & I haven't been able to find it again
honeymoon is strictly for tablets. ics however has a working port for the fascinate/mesmerize. i haven't tried it, im kind wAiting on one ported specifically for the mez. look on rootzwiki
USCC tech svcs is no big hurry to get ICS to our handsets. They are currently working with Motorola and Samsung to have them develop a new handset with ICS already. As far as an OS Upgrade... Not likely anytime soon.
Ok, thx to both of u for the replies

Hey i did flast the ics for fascinate on my mez and it worked great. I dont think there is any way to tell if uscc will ever port it to the mesmerize but there is a buttload of mez users with the fascinate port of ics on thier phones it really quite awesome

Rumor has it that USCC will be getting the CDMA Galaxy Nexus in Q1 2012... if that happens then thats no doubt where my upgrade will go.

I know Honeycomb is pretty much obsolete, but I've wanted it more than I've wanted ICS for the Kindle.... I've looked at how to port a ROM, and but none of it made sense to me. I will keep trying, but I don't want to risk bricking my Kindle again from something I've made. I'm asking for a seasoned ROM builder who knows what they're doing. I want 3.2 rather than 3.0 because of Project Chameleon coming out in almost 2 months... Please help me out here. Thanks!
I would like this too, just to try it out.
As I understand, Google never released the source to Honeycomb, so no ROMS.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=986308
From what I heard, but it was released, and but it was released at the same time as the ICS source was, and so most demand for it went with ICS instead of Honeycomb...
The SDK is available on the Google SDK Manager, and it may not have as many as components as ICS, but it's still there. It has:
-SDK Platform
-Samples for SDK
-XOOM2ME by Motorola Mobility, Inc.
-XOOM2ME by Motorola Mobility, Inc.
I hope this is useful for future reference.
I wouldn't consider honeycomb obsolete. It's older, and designed for tablets. I'm sure an optimized version would run a lot better than ICS on the fire. In my experience, though, I've never seen any ICS rom truly run on the KF, only crawl, with a limp, and a severed leg. I currently have GB, but as google pointed out, it's not really tablet optimized.
For some reason I agree with this. I would LOVE to install Honeycomb on my Fire HD 6... I don't know why but I've always liked Honeycomb's aesthetic
