modding cable otg & charge + usb hub?

Dear XDA,
I am planning to make a custom "case" for my ville. My plan is to mod a very small usb hub into it. So i can plug in usb sticks & memory cards and stuff. Also i wanna buy a very fast mirco sd card. The hub cable wil be inserted in the mirco usb port. I wanted to ask how to boot from such an external micro sd card, outside the one s. If it is possible do i need to root it? Has anyone tried something failiar before? And am i able to charge my phone through the usb hub? Does anyone know if it is needed to mod the hub for this and if i need to do it, how?
The total picture is: otg cable in one s to usb hub, from the hub 1 sd card (hopefully bootable from this), 1 usb port for charging (>????) 2 where i can put mouse and usb stick in?
Hopefully everyone shares his imformation about it,
Tanks in advance,

You cannot use an otg cable for charging. Also, you cannot boot from an otg device since it isn't even enabled until you are actually booted into Android.

[Q] Micro usb adapter

Does anybody know if I could use a micro usb adapter to plug in a usb and transfer files from my HTC One S to the flash drive?
Because I've just read that it's possible on some nexus devices and this would really be useful on vacations. Last summer I only had 100mb left on my One S.
Thanks.

Replace Micro USB Port

Hey guys,
I dont know if Im right here, but do you have an idea about replacing the micro usb port on a tablet? I have an old archoos 80 g9, but its not usable anymore because the pins inside the micro usb port are bent. I tried to fix it but no luck yet. I thought maybe replace the complete port on the tablet.
Did anyone do something like that before?
Many thanks for your help.
