Micro USB Hard wire kits.

Does anybody know where to buy hard wire kits to install a micro USB charger into your car? All I have found on them so far is something like this:
http://www.buybits.com/product/sku_6137.aspx
Only problem is everything I can find is in the UK. I am trying to find something state side. Does anybody know where I can get some?

You could pick up one of the 12volt ciggarette adapters that plug into normal socket and have a standard usb port that provides 5 volts. Take it apart, add an inline fuse (if it doesn't already have one) and wire that into any 12 volt source and mount the usb port wherever you want (or chop and attach a mini usb cable and leave the cable hanging wherever you want).
I've found those for under $10.00 in the states and have done this identical mod before (for something else, but same idea).

FYI, the 500ma spec of that unit is not sufficient to power and charge many modern smartphones, including the N1.
You are better of fabbing your own solution from a microusb car charger rated at [email protected] or better.
Charger lead -- this?
How about http://buybits.com/product/7441.aspx that seems to be what you're after but then all you need is a micro adaptor.
They might even do one.
Steve
you could DIY it?
grab a 12v 1amp car adaptor, take it apart, find a suitable box from your nearest maplins (radioshack = USA equiv?) and fit the electrics into the box.
replace the fused side of the 12v adaptor with a fuse, wire and 2x ring terminals to your battery.
since it has standard USB, your free to use anything you wish.
i've done things slightly differently, i got a 4-way 12v accessory unit, and hard-wired that into the car. (http://www.towsure.com/product/4_Way_Cigar_Lighter_Socket_Adaptor). that you way you charge multiple devices..

[Q] Male Micro/Mini USB to Female Regular sized USB

Does anyone know if I purchased one of these can the Transformer then read memory cards or use other USB peripherals?
no one has tried yet, try it for us and find out!
I would if I had the tablet. If it does it would be a major plus.
Well we know for a fact that the 40 pin connector that is used to hook up the tablet to PC and charger through USB allows for USB host, we just don't know if it would be so simple that all we have to do is use a female to female converter.
I would think that it would work, because that's how you transfer files to the tablet. Not sure about peripherals though. If this does work it would easily make this better then any tablet.
if I can get myself to put down the money and if someone posts a link I'll try it.

I meant usb female to USB female since I don't have anything with microUSB just wanna test host.
Just bought http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B000BSN4UY female to female adapter, I'll test USB host I guess
The tablet only has a micro, so I guess I don't understand why you would buy that item.

The tablet doesn't have a micro port, it has a proprietary 40 pin to USB male cable with a proprietary 40 pin socket. So you need atleast reg female to reg female to get host at the minimum.
Never mind just figured it out. You are going to use the micro usb cable that can with the tablet and hook up the female to female. Sorry.
I thought the tablet did have a micro usb host?
only ports are the proprietary connector used for hooking it up to the PC/charger/dock and mini HDMI out. But the proprietary connector supports USB host.

[Q] iphone tip converter to micro usb?

Hi there,
I know this is a weird question....but I really like this small portable charger that is for the iphone:
http://www.jcrew.com/browse/single_...&nav_type=SEARCH&bmUID=jKaPT92&bmLocale=en_CA
As far as I've seen, nothing is available like that for android (something very compact, no cords)
Is there an iphone 30 pin to micro usb converter? Something that I could put on top so that I could plug my phone in.
I know that there is a usb on the other end, and that I could get a usb to micro usb cord, but I'd really like to elimate the number or cords I'm carrying around.
Thanks for your help!

[Completed] USB Type C 3.1 Converters and Question

Okay i know their are topics about converters and right now i am more confused. What i need is a USB type C FEMALE yes FEMALE converter to Micro USB Male. So one end can go in the micro USB port. (I checked i cant see any that exist.)
Why you probably ask i just bought many USB type C cables and now stuck with them as i do not have any USB Type C devices so i would like to use these on my older stuff.
The Questions i would like to ask i am planning to buy some of these.....
http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/New-USB-3...12-/262236206960?_trksid=p2141725.m3641.l6368
and some of these....
http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/New-Micro...039596?hash=item2591ceceac:g:X7cAAOSwd4tTuzUv
So i can stick them together LOL. Will the fast charge still work i know it aint going to be 10gbps but 5gbps would be good enough for file transferring.
Okay looking around i spotted this...
http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/UK-Mains-...hash=item46509a7e40:m:m2VZJgwFGgg5G9DMik9Vk9w
but the only issue i have with it is i would not mind something like this but also be able to connect to a PC i mean that would be great.
If anyone got any suggestions i am all ears for an easier way.
Never mind i just ordered all the lot i will find out for myself.
Great that you ordered one
