Htc touch pro (RAPHAEL) synchronization - Touch Pro, Fuze General

Hi guys, I wana ask you about synchronization htc touch pro (raphael) on winodws vista. How can i synchronizate it vit the usb? i search at this forum a lot of post, but i didn't find enywhere. So please help me guys i want to change my rom to 6.5 . That's why i need this lession.

You mention you want to sync and then at the end of your sentence, it seems more likely that you are also looking to upgrade/flash. The question now is, do you want to save anything that is currently on your phone or would you rather upgrade to a 6.5 winmo ROM and start over?

No i dont wana to save all my files . I wana have a real windows mobile 6.5 on my htc touch pro (raphael)

So then you want to flash or upgrade your device. Do you care if you flash a stock or a custom ROM? Before you consider, read THIS. Keep in mind, that site isn't a "bad read", just might seem like the person might be a tad upset at at&t
I would suggest a few threads for reading before you even consider flashing.
THIS thread has a collection of other threads that are helpful/useful. I would consider starting HERE for flashing a GSM device and HERE for CDMA. If you find it is too much to read, I can try to walk you through the steps but no idea as to when I will have the time to actually do that. The wiki that everyone is referring to may have been changed in some cases. THIS is the working link to date. Additionally, if you choose to flash a custom ROM you will need to HARD-SPL your device BEFORE YOU FLASH! Supposedly you can flash stock ROMs all day long and worry less. To me, the major difference between a stock and a custom ROM is over-all behavior. Stock ROMs are more straight forward and custom ROMs can be difficult to manage if you don't know what you are doing. It's quite a shock to most new to the custom ROM deal but if you think you are ready for it, I would suggest using the ROM in my sig/signature. Again, to me, this ROM represents the latest winmo enhancements to-date, even though winmo is becoming an obsolete OS, slowly but surely
One additional peice of advice to you my friend. If you find yourself confused by all of this, you can return to this thread and I'll try my best to explain things to you. All we ask is if your question pertains to something that the thread answers, please try to stay with-in that thread. To me, searching is an art, if you type in jibberish, it is likely that your results will turn up nothing useful but in order to get better at it, you have to try it out for yourself! With that, I hope you enjoy your device and the awesome members of XDA!
n-Joie! (Enjoy)

T-Mobile MDA WM6

Hi, i am new at this and i wanted to get windows mobile 6 on my phone....but i see most articles that i find and files are old and dont seem to find the files i want or the things i expect...i wanted to know where i can get the latest files and articles on how to install wm6 on my tmobile mda....please help and thanks....
From one newbie to another, these are not all old threads, most of WM6 threads for the Wizard (t-mob MDA) are very active, you just need to be prepared to sit down and read them all the way through.
Check out the reflashing guides before you do anything - read, re-read and then re-read them again if you are new to flashing. That's what I did and I've had no problems. Currently on my 3rd WM6 ROM in a week (for some folks on here 3 new ROMs a day is not unusual).
Good luck!
Oh, and while I'm making my first post, thanks to all those who contribute to this forum and make it the excellent and friendly knowledge base it is.

Rather than suggest my personal fav...I'll suggest you read what is included in each of the most current list of roms (I'm sure I'll leave some out but there is jaguar, black diamond..nbd..tnt....xm6r3 and many others each with their own thread)..and find the one that includes the things important to you..some are targeted for people who want the new touchflo stuff...others have a different target audience...find the one thats right for your needs.

What IS HardSPL & Flashing??? (Noob)

Hi. I'm new to the forum and new to the world of PDA's.
I recently upgraded from a Nokia N73 to an O2 XDA Orbit 2. I've been looking around the forum and...1 question if I may:
1) What is Hard SPL and flashing and what are the benefits?

Don't be afraid to use the search functions.....
Flashing a new radio or ROM is 'upgrading' from the current ones you have on your phone now. There are a lot of highly talented people on xda who are very, very kind to create and rip OEM and cooked ROMS and other fun stuff for us. 99% of the time they are taking something and making it 1000% better.
SPL is basically a boot loader which allows you to flash a new ROM without turning your nice phone into a door stop.
Benefits? There are a lot, too many to list. You might want to flash a better ROM that will provide your phone with more available memory, maybe this new ROM will upgrade your phone to WM6, or even WM6.1, maybe this ROM will allow your to run your phone in a different language, and I can keep going.
Don't try any of this stuff without reading how to do it a lot, seriously. Also, you might just want to learn, but try not to ask stupid questions. If you ask a questions and the answer could have been found in the search, then it was stupid.
many thnx.

WM 6.1 for TyTn II

Sorry for asking but everyone is a newbeeeee sometime, right
I just found this site and I really want to upgrade my HTC TyTn II with WM 6.1.
I understand that on this site aloooooot of people are writing there own application and changing the org. RAM etc etc.
I wounder WHAT RAM I should install, the official Microsoft 6.1 or...
Where to looooooook ?
Pleazzzz have faith and once more, I'm a beginner
since you are new....1st thing to do before asking a question is use the forum search function and/or go to the wiki page for your device most of your questions if not all can be answered by doing those two things...
I'm going to give you the best piece of advice I can. Don't forget the name GSLEON3. I have a feeling you might need him in the near future.
i would take the last one that came out... and everytime a new one is available -> flash it.
other possibility: start with the wiki.
Well, you won't be changing ANY RAM for years bud. No offense, but that would take a lot of address work to alter the ram alotment.
You're best friend is the wiki, & the second post on the page called Start Here.
Now I don't expect to see another question for at least 5 days to a week, becuase if you are that new, you've got a bit of reading to do.
Start with the basics & learn about roms, radios, & basic tools that make flashing & cooking possible.
DO NOT PLAY WITH THINGS YOU DON'T UNDERSTAND. If you're not comfortable with a process or don't understand it, DON'T DO IT! Just like anything else, you're actions will have consequences, some are good some can be devastating. So start here: http://wiki.xda-developers.com/index.php?pagename=HTC_Kaiser
Then go to this thread: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=369282
After reading all of the info there, then you can start asking questions for clarification without being royally flamed.

Ohh, & one last though, never trust a solution that is just flash it!
Red, read, read, understand...Then HardSPL before you even think of flashing anything.
sorry... forgot
<irony></irony>
I thought that was clear.
OK here we goooiiiiinnnng to reeeeead and reeeeeeaaad an.......
Godnight & over and out
I learned everything I needed to know from here. Everything is extensive. With a little dedication and a little geekism, you'll figure it out
My RAM doesn't fit!!!!
I'm so sorry that I didn't get to chime in earlier but I was changing the RAM on my Tilt and totally screwed up trying to fit my Laptop RAM into my phone. I couldn't find the Wiki on how to fix it. Can I tether it using Active Sync?

Info overload.. but which ROM do I use?

Sorry.. truly sorry for asking such a dumb question. I have found and will use the NEWB flashing guide, but even there it doesn't suggest which ROM to use.
Jade? Maybe?
I have a ATT branded Tilt, latest crappy ATT 6.1 build and am ready for all of the improvements.
Since there are so many different ROMs of different flavors, it honestly is hard to tell which one to use in general.
Can someone make a good suggestion? I even saw off one of the linked site for the ROM images, one for the new touch HD?
Hoping for ease of use, speed, and better radio reception.
Thanks.. and again sorry for the newbie question

What exactly is ROM????

Hey guys,
I know I am going to sound really newby, but that is true in this PDA world for me. I recently got my HTC love, and I really love the phone.
I have surfed XDA for quite a while, and I am truly amazed at the number of PDA users. It truly is a great collection, but I have not been able to find answers to these questions. The search option has not helped much but give me several different ROM types and versions, but I dont know what exactly they are so can someone help me out on these questions please:
What exactly is ROM?
What is Flashing ROM?
Different languages of ROM?
Manila 2D ROM? Kaiser ROM? Diamond ROM?
It would be really kind if someone could answer these questions.
I appreciate your time.
Thank You
ROM stands for Read Only Memory and is the part of your phone's memory where the Operating System is stored - equivalent if you like to XP or Vista on the PC.
Flashing the ROM refers to replacing the ROM that came with your phone with another - usually written or "cooked" by enthusiasts who build in there own programs and preferences. Flashing is best done after much study as there is a chance you can wreck your phone. If you want to modify your phone it is best to start off using CAB files.
Yes there are different languages of ROMs available. A Manila2D ROM would have the Manila2D interface built into it. Kaiser and Diamond are other phones in the HTC range.
My phone slows down with the cab files, and I can see how memory plays a part there.
Also installing manila 2d was way too laggy, I kind of want more memory and space available.
So if I do the flash ROM, and have this huge ROM space, all I have to do later is to install cab files on ROM right?
Thanks for your reply Restorer.

this is the questions an answers section, in otherwords if someone has a question give them an answer. if you are going to say "read the wiki" you need to atleast give them a link on where to start, otherwise you are just spamming.
now to ANSWER the question....
yes you can install cabs, its still windows mobile its just like when you a get a computer from dell, dell will give you windows but they will also give you a bunch of "Dell-ware" (usually a bunch of useless shareware someone is paying them to load on their computers)
When you get a new rom you still get windows you just get a choice at what you want on your phone, instead of what your service provider thinks they might be able to sell you or what they think you will use.
You can get roms in all different flavors, anything from something striped down to the very core of the operating system, or something loaded with multimedia features, or something based around a program such as a manilla rom.
to read up on this go here, MAKE SURE YOU READ, if you follow direction you will be fine but if you just jump in without reading everything you will brick your phone.
Here is some good readin that will answer some of your questions....
