Is there a file (in framework-res or elsewhere) I can delete to disable the lockscreen and leave only the password unlock screen?
I've been experimenting, but I haven't found the right file since I'm stuck in a boot loop.
Thanks for any help!
P.S.: I would simply use the lockscreen toggle in the notification bar, but it only works for the first couple of minutes after boot then does not toggle. Anyone know how to fix this (I'm on HyperDroidGBX v9)?

Click to collapse
does anyone know? it's really weird. I can see the icons under /windows folder, but I just can make it appear on the start menu. thanks
let me clarify... by start menu.. you mean the screen in windows and the quicklinks associated with it? or your slider?
IF its the windows side you can just use an icon changer and clear cache.. if you mean like your slider.. you need to edit manila or use a cab with a slider you like
if your still at it.. try this...
If you use JWMD IconChanger go to Menu, Tools, HTC Sense Tools, Clear Icon Cache.
Click Yes and Ok when completed.
Click Yes to reboot device.
Manual way using File Explorer - go to My Device\Application Data\HTC\ProgLauncher and delete all files in the folder (*.bmg files). Reboot device. If you only changed a few Icons you can delete only those files, e.g. if you change the Audio Booster’s icon only delete “Audio Booster.bmg” file and reboot.
Both methods will update Windows and Sense Icons.
Works for me.

Where, in a ROM, can I find, and change the lockscreen commands? I do not mean how do I select a lockscreen method, but how can I add or change lockscreen methods into a ROM? Where in the root files do I find these?
I have my own rom and I am trying to figure out how to add notification toggles. I dont know what files to replace. I replace system UI and it forcecloses or never boots. And yes I am replacing before I even flashed the rom. Anyone?
Anyone??
I have seen flashable patch for adding notification toggles like this one http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1690037&highlight=toggles
may be you can try somthing like that.

Hi all,
I messed up my systemUI.apk while trying to modify locksettings.db in order to disable the need for pin by having VPN set up. Anyways, now when I boot my phone, systemUI is crashing and then stuck in a loop, screen is not lighting up once switched off. I still can enter recovery, so my plan is to adb push a virgin systemUI.apk to avoid a factory reset. Could anyone please extract systemUI.apk from stock 4.4.3 installation and post it?
Update: Meanwhile after hours of googling i found how to extract the apk from oth update. Unfortunately I do not find the location of the broken systemui.apk, also google only gives results not valid for Nexus 5 4.4.3. Anyone knows where the file is stored on my phone?
Update 2: After giving up and trying to sleep, one last idea came to my mind, which finally worked out. Here is my solution if someone has a similar issue in future: Just delete all locksettings.db from /system/data/, seems like the system will create a new default one.
