Anti break and Downgrade to 1.32 without goldcard and pc connection - Desire HD Android Development

Sry for bad English.
this work for all Desire HD devices such as branded device and ect
Now a downgrade method has arrived! After this process, you can use any root (+ S-OFF) method you want. Basically your device will be just like any other Desire HD with older build version.
1- Get stock 1.32 PD98IMG.zip ROM
2- format microSD as FAT32 (I suggest that the mirror can format with Memory Reader)
3- Download the attached file and extract it
4- Put PD98IMG.zip and attached file to your SD card
5- take the phone to boot loader (I suggested at the first turn off the phone battery click here again, in memory instead of its own And hold volume down button and turn on phone) and wait to be installed ROM.

What is this? That text has been copied almost completely from my downgrade guide.

pls put link

It is a sticky here in XDA. http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=905003

) this works diffrently and you don't need to any goldcard or pc conection.

The link is copied from the original thread.
Don't you need to trick the phone a lower version number if you have 1.72 installed in order to Update to a lower version number? eg. Cable connected from Phone to PC and the steps in the original thread?

That is right, this guide is fake, troll or something like that.

Haha clearly OP, wow this thread is funny.

may be speaking out of term here, but can anyone else confirm as the only ones to "confirm" this method works all write in the same "style" of english

If i'm on gingerbread (CM7) can I flash this and it'll be me back to stock firmware? (first version released?)

Sorry for my english, I'm from spain ....
I see that you did not tried this method... then .... Why would discredit the work of another person without knowing?
I've tried it and it has worked perfect for me.
I'm not used to write much in the forums, but when i do it i try to know what I'm talking about.
I hope you can understand my poor and maybe ridiculous english.

Alright, I stand corrected, it seems to work for some people. The question is, does it work for people without S-OFF. Because that is what the downgrade is for, and people here just seem to be interested in going from higher custom builds to stock.
So, can someone with branded stock phone confirm this?

Thread close while this gets investigated....
@jkoljo...would you mind PMing this member and try to sort it out? I would get involved if you need me too

Elfin - Flashing the ROM via the microSD card

Hi,
I'm quite new to xda-developers (*collective groaning at the newbie, I'm sure*); what happens to phones here is rather astounding, though, and I'd certainly be willing to make a small donation to anyone that can help .
My problem is as follows: I have an HTC Touch (an Elfin; I can post my device info if necessary), and I'd like to try upgrading the ROM (I've gotten Onyx 5.01 from the forums; it looks excellent). This alone isn't (shouldn't) be a problem for me, but my Touch has, I believe, lost a few pins in it's extUSB port over the years, and will not connect to Mobile Device Centre/ActiveSync through the USB port. I can connect through Bluetooth just fine... but certain expected problems arise from flashing a ROM over Bluetooth . So, what I really need to know, in fairly well explained steps, is: how can I (safely) flash my ROM using the microSD card?
I apologize in advance for any incorrect/misplaced terminology; feel free to correct/rebuke
-Kris
Search the stickeys. There are step by step instructions available
Can you give me a link to an appropriate thread/section of a thread? I've been rooting around all day, and I can't find anything that describes my situation; every guide I've found gets to a certain point and then tells you to "connect your device via USB..." - is there no way around a broken USB connection?

Soon, I will flashing my Elfin with this method. And I'm asking me if I must let the same name for the rom (ELF0IMG.nbh) or an other name. Can someone tell me if I must change or if it'sd OK with this name ?
Thanks.

Ok, thanks, I'd seen that before, but it tells me about an "Invalid Certificate" when I get to the rebooting part... which means my device is not CID unlocked, correct? Is there any way to CID unlock my Elfin without a USB connection?
Thanks again for the help

mmm... thats a problem because to cid unlock u must follow the white screen method. im pretty sure u might be able to get to the white screen by hand but not sure how u will flash it then.
another posibility is flashing the unbricker rom (by sd) and then i guess u can re-flash the spl by sd too.
anyway, im not sure. maybe aman or cmonex can help u with this.
Invalid Certificate too
Does the data in the SD card get deleted after flashin the ROM via SD card..???
no, it doesn't

Pfft... I can't even make a gold card..

Hey all,
First up, apologies if this topic is buried somewhere, I searched to no avail.
K, issue: when attempting to make a gc I get to the step after you have sdk saved to the c/. However at the point where you type in command prompt: adb devices, it reports back as if nothing is connected. Now this is an indication that the drivers are not installed or missing. I have done everything I can think of and have read to do, uninstall - reconnect...no workie, tried to reinstall from the sdk drivers, again no good.
Has anyone else experienced this problem and if so were you able to fix it and if so can you help a brotha out. I mean I'm over here doing all kinds of cool flashing to my wifes HD2 and getting jealous.
Thanks in advance for any help you ask can provide

Why a GoldCard? U like to Root? If u like to downgrade or unbrand, root your Phone with the One Click Method and Flash an original ROM.

some carriers like the one I am on, locked down the software and one click does not work, so a gold card is needed, and a downgrade before one can root. I am on a regional carrier, cellular south and had to do this, the gold card was the hardest part, it was hard to find a brand that would take the software, pny worked for me...

That thread that you directed me to didn't mention anything about support for the MT3G, looks like is a desire method. Although one person did say they were looking to do this on their evo in there but nothing came of it.
So is there any verification that this would work on a MT3G?

I don't know whether the unrevoked3 could work under 0.83,
it's confirmed that it could not work under 0.92.
You don't need unrevoked. This update.zip is applied using the stock recovery.
Hi lollylost100,
I'm just trying your instructions above to recover my desire.
I don't seem to get anything on the screen at any stage of the above.
Is this correct?
If so, I must just be pressing the wrong buttons in the wrong order as I've not been able to recover my device.
Well if you downgraded using this method: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=745903 then you should be able to upgrade using the method in first post. Nothing will be displayed on the screen. You just have to follow the instructions without the screen.
I downgraded by creating a gold card and then running the ruu.exe for 1.21.
When I could not get the screen working I applied
RUU_Bravo_H3G_UK_1.22.771.1_Radio_32.36.00.28U_4.06.00.02_2_release_127568_signed
in the same way.
When I tried to downgrade using the RUU for a SLCD version, I get the bootloader incorrect version.
Am I screwed?
Try the HBOOT downgrade method again and then apply the fix in the first post.
It's because the file from first post is: OTA_Bravo_Froyo_HTC_WWE_2.09.405.8-1.21.405.2_release4dua3bcrut4wrv30.zip
2.09.405.8-1.21.405.2 - from 1.21.405.2 to 2.09.405.8 (WWE).
I have a goldcard I created at the start of all this but I can't create a new one as I get 'failed to get CID' using gold card tool 0.0.5.
I'm guessing this is because the device is not in the correct mode anymore?
Do I need to generate a new goldcard image based on where I am ?
Well done lollylost100!!!
My phone is okay but thanks just the same. I'm sure a lot of people will find this very useful.

Theoretically goldcard is only for branded phones. You don't need to be rooted. You should wait about 30 mins after applying update.zip just to be on the safe side.
Very nice. Well done!
Congrats to everyone with working screens now

Hi yuzz..nice too see Bruneian in this forum, i thought i'm the only one...sry for the off topic
Talz, do you have this kind of problem to?
Some extra information:
It is also possible to recover using a stock RUU. This may be useful if you want to run 2.1 instead of upgrading to 2.2, or you want to upgrade later.
The RUU that is compatible with SLCD phones is here:
http://shipped-roms.com/shipped/Bra...1.00.32U_4.08.00.09_release_137222_signed.exe
To run this, make sure your goldcard is inserted and start the phone in fastboot mode (hold back key and power button).
If you get a 140 error when running this, you will probably have to use the update.zip method for FroYo (of course if you do want FroYo you don't need to worry about this).
You don't mind if I include this in first post?

Questions on root/flashing ROMs on HTC sensation

Hi guys. I'm hoping my post hasn't broken any forum rules... but anyway, i am very new to android, and i'm still trying to read up on/learn about rooting a phone + flashing a ROM to it. I have a few questions that i'm hoping some experienced people could answer for me =]
1. Does my HTC sensation need to have a certain update before i can try archieve S-Off? (I'm on the Three network [UK] and my software number is 1.34.771.1)
2. How easy is it to brick a device? Im good with computers, and can follow instructions, but seeing as i have no past experience with android, i'm anxious to try flash new ROMs to my phone without insurance - as £500 for a new device would kill me... =P
3. When flashing a new custom ROM to my phone, what kind of 'wipe' do i need to perform? I've read a few articles, all of which say to perform different wipes.
4. I dont understand ' Radio Flashing' could someone kindly explain that to me please?
5. What exactly does CWM backup? =P
I hope i'm not wasting anyones time here, i have read through the articles for noobs, just need some clarification =]
Thanks for everyones time.

1. As long as you are on Android 2.3.3 there shouldnt be a problem. 2.3.4 donesnt have a S=off just yet, i think
2. Bricking is actually very hard to do, if u follow instructions you should be good
3. all you need to wip is the system data, cache, and i reccomend wiping the battery status too
4. Radio flashing is chaning your radio number. this is actually a very easy process. Dont worry about this, all you do is put a zip on ur sd card, and the phone does the rest.
5. ClockWork Mod backs up quite literally everytrhing. Think "Macrium Reflect" for a PC. Or a "Ghost Backup" for a PC.
6. I just added this. don worry about wasting peoples time. We are here to help each other like a community. Let me know if u have any other questions.

If you don't mind me asking;
What exactly is a Radio number for?
I am on android 2.3.3 , just my software number seemed different to other peoples phones =P
So if i use this 'Clockwork Mod' to backup everything, once the new ROM has installed, will everything just be the same (apart from the changes on the ROM obv) such as app placements on homescreens etc. Or will i have to put everything back?
Also, say android releases 2.3.5 , im assuming i would just flash an updated ROM over the top of an older 2.3.4 ROM when it is released?
I've read through the 1st sticky a few times already, just to familiarise myself with certain words/actions =]

Clockwork Mod is just a recovery program to allow you to install new ROMs to your device, but most importantly, to let you backup and restore your current device configuration (like a sort of time machine). Most developers recommend Clockwork Mod (CWM) because it is so good at what it does. If anything fails, and you need to use your phone in a pinch, just revert to a CWM backup, and all's well!
So, to answer your question, unfortunately, no. One of the only ways to do that is with Titanium Backup, a program from the Android Market.
CWM is for reverting to previous incarnations of your phone's software and firmware.
Sorry I only answered one question, but it was the only one I knew how to in an effective manner.
Sorry, I can answer another!

A radio is the way that your device communicates with your mobile networking. (wifi, 3G/4G, etc) Different Radio versions (numbers) work better for different people. Most developers will release a matched radio with their ROMs, which is usually what works best for them. Depending on your area, different radios may work better for you. Ultimately concerning radios, Your Mileage WILL vary. it's one of the other big trial and error pieces to flashing custom ROMs.

Radio Number/Version is the version of ur radio. This is signal related.
So when updates come out they typically update the
radio and make the signal strength better.
This is something to be careful with, when changing ROMs
make sure that the some you are about to change into
supports ur radio version.
When u use ClockWork Mod to backup it will backup your current settings. So if u backup it consists of your rom , apps, settings, etc. so if u restore that then everything would be like the old one. So Yes, u would have the set everything back on the homescreen. Its ok, u will get used to that.
When they release android 2.3.5 you might have to "wipe" your phone and do it again. Maybe, depending on your rom, you might be able to flash on top of 2.3.4
H-Boot is similar to the Bios of the computer. And you know how carefully you have to be to change that.
But the H-Boot version that the 1st sticky says allows changing of certain things, thus allowing you to have root.
Feel free to ask away, im here to help you

Lol. I'm just trying to be helpful so i can get to posting on the Dev. forums. There are plenty of easy questions there...
Appreciating the help guys =] Starting to understand a bit better!
So when i flash a new ROM, i must flash a new Radio? If i flash the recommended radio, how likely am i to get a good signal? And if im getting poor signal, i just have to keep trying new Radios? ( I Heard flashing radios is one of the ways you can brick your device)
Also with CWM - When the backup is made... do i have to keep it on the Sd card? Or can i move it to the computer so it takes up less space?
And if i understand correctly - CWM basically creates a backup just incase things go wrong you can always revert back?
... If i use titanium backup, what benefits does that bring over CWM? - Is it worth the money?
Thanks again

- Click on Restart then Yes.
- Wait until all the lights on your device turn off.
- Hold the Vol. Down Button until a white screen shows.

You don't need Root to install a custom Root.
Just S-OFF, CWM and SuperCID I believe..
Just note down your old CID before writing the new SuperCID as you may need it later if you want to flash RUU and afraid of doing something wrong
Later on, if you want to flash RUU (Rom Upgrade Utility) without the fear of flashing a wrong one, you can just write the old CID to your device again

If Custom Rom, please read my post #13 then do the SuperCID thing as you will need it for custom ROM..
About your saved games, the only way I know you can backup your saved data with is using Titanium Backup, which can be found in the Market.
Obviously, if you still don't know what you're doing, research more and then do whatever you want.
I take no responsibilities about anything that may happen to your phone using any of the methods above.

That's exactly what happened to me when I backed up.
I think you should ignore it, as it is trying to backup an extension in the SD-Card, as you can re-partition your SD-Card using CWM as I understand.

Ignoring it is ok. sd-ext not being backed up is most likely an indicator that an EXT4 formatted portion of your SD card was not found. By default, your SD card is formatted as FAT32 because of its universal acceptance by all OSs. Some users report a performance boost/personal preference toward EXT4, YMMV.

Most importantly, ClockworkMod does not back up your SD card. that is something you have to do manually on your computer, should you choose to do so. CWM is only responsible for backing up the internal storage of the phone that can be changed or wiped by ROMs (or mike1986's SuperWipe.) ROMs shouldn't change the contents of the SD card.

revone... unable to find anywhere on the net, can somebody upload it please

hello,
i am trying to get my htc one mini to S-OFF and to do that, after reading most of the forums in XDA for htc one mini, i was told to use the "revone" file, unfortunately the website revolutionary.io/revone is broke and i cannot find the revone file anywhere on the net. Can any body please upload the file which will be much appreciated and one more question, i have bought my HTC ONE MINI @dubai, which stock rom or RUU or Firmware should i try if in case i have wiped my storage and lost my original OS.
Hi I have it somewhere but it doesn't work anymore. Which ROM do you have and which HBOOT? Are you rooted ?
If you have HBOOT 2.22 and 4.4.2 Android simply flash xXminiWHOOPERxX kernel V6 , then try rumrunner. It worked yesterday for me after whole day of trying with all sorts of methods. Hope that helps.
Thank you , my bad, i managed to work on RUMRUNNER, everything went fine but it seems RUMRUNNER does not work on 4.4.2. My HBOOT is 2.22 and yes i am rooted.
I really appreciate your reply, i stopped looking at XDA because none bothered replying me. I would try xXminiWHOOPERxX Kernel V6 and will update you. Thank you so much. :good:
Also i am not a geek in android, but can you please, if you don't mind, tell me how to flash the kernel? Sorry if i am being Dumb Here

Sorry, typing response for 10 minutes with instructions, then stupid forum decides to sabotage me, really don't want to type all again. You have to flash it through fastboot (adb binaries).
Or rename it to boot.img, put in archive of rom you will flash and replace with current boot.img in archive. If you need any help , i'll try.
Hi, Thank you. I tried downloading all the 3 versions of the kernel and it pissed me off. It was a zip file and when extracted the file was an .exe which led me to viruses in my laptop. i had to format:crying: i tried searching the the whooper kernel v6 but all in vain. i don't want to risk it all again.

Oh man,you never ever open exe file except when you expect it to be exe file. Blue button is to download real kernel. I wish people used more friendly hosting sites tho.. Anyway here you go in the attachment.
I really really really appreciate your effort for helping me. Thanks a lot. Let me Flash it and update you. Thanks a Tons my Friend.:good:

No problem, just make sure to post reply if everything went good, so if somebody searchs for it in the future can find this useful.
I can confirm it works however the rumrunner froze on a few occasions but it seemed to pick up from when It stopped.
I can confirm that rumrunner with the "BootV6.img" supplied above worked like a charm on KK 4.4.2, HBoot 2.22. The only downside to revone is that you can't remove the "TAMPERED" on the bootloader, but I can live with that!

I was almost ready to give up on this site. In the dev section it looks like there might not be a single link left that's functional.
Just flashed the kernel and used rumrunner to S-OFF my mini with 2.22 HBOOT.
I almost had a mini heart attack when i started realizing that people might really be buying into newer devices and abandoning older ones at an ever increasing rate. My old HTC Desire made in 2010 lasted me until now and still mostly works with a custom ROM... I hope this mini will last me just as long although that might require opening it up to change the "non removable" battery at some point.
Bottom line, this previously used thing cost me 65eur (+10 for shipping) and it only had very minor scratches. Please don't forget those who recycle that which gets discarded by walking bags of money.
