HeLauncher2:
Simplicity has a love/hate relationship.
HeLauncher2 is a home replacement for the mobile operating system known as Android. The home application is the center piece to the users entire Android experience. Device manufacturers like to modify the home application to give the user a different feel for their device, to make their specific device stand out against the crowd.
What makes this home replacement different is the dev has gone and ripped apart multiple proprietary home applications from the manufactures and blended them together into one home application that can replicate them all with one button.
Features:
- Based off of AOSP Launcher2 from 2.3.4
- Three custom themes (Gingerbread, Sense 3.0, Touchwiz 4.0, ALL THE REST FROM He1)
- Transition animations for the desktop
- Blocked applications manager
- More new settings picked for Android users by Android users
What's in this version:
Lots of small bug fixes
Added screen indicator location preference

What makes this home replacement different is that all docks included in this app, have been ripped from home applications from the main manufacturers and blended into one home application.
There are no massive options or settings menus, to try to keep things simple and stock. There are also features that competitors would only make available to the paid versions of their applications.

Elegant and stylish! I'll definitely keep an eye on this. Keep up the good work!
Very very nice Launcher! Thanks.
Looks realy great ;-9
If you installe HeLauncher, what about the HTC widgets?
Does the HTC widgets still work or is it like when you use ADWLauncher that most of them, eg. People Widget, don't work anymore?
It's not smooth, it lags really bad when scrolling.
Enable bounce option is pretty strange.
The concept is pretty good but it needs a lot of work to polish it. Keep up the good work !
Wow..
I like this
Im not sure if HTC widgets will work. I dont find any lag when scrolling at all really, but yeah its still being developed. Thanks for all the pos. Feedback.
I really do like this launcher however as with any app of fine taste there is room for improvement. I like how simplistic and light it is, and with the death of Zeam we need another launcher of this magnitude.
However there is a need for performance improvements for scrolling it seems to lag a bit and isn't as smooth as it should be being as lightweight as it is.
The next issue lies with the bounce effect and the ability to use both it and the screen position thing on the top. When using the bounce effect with it when it bounces it says you're on the right screen then when it bounces back it says you are back on the previous screen and then moves back to the appropriate location.

Nice Idea.
Just installed it and had a play.
Feedback:
I really like the cube effect. It's super smooth. Only thing that a bit strange is that the cube is made up of a grey tint cube and not the wallpaper.
It would be really cool if you could 'wrap' the wallpaper around every face of the cube so you see a different screen each time you flip. Or have the option to choose a wallpaper for every face of the cube.
Be good to have a Master wallpaper which appears behind everything and then as above for the cube etc..
It has a little trouble skipping transition midway through, so if you flip before the screen has finished it's transition, the animation to the next screen it jerky.
When going from Helicopter view to the selected screen, you get this elastic bounce of the grey tint, I don;t think that need to be there at all tbh, makes it look like it's doing something it shouldn't be.
When I selected Fly in/out for the app draw it threw a wobbly and went to black screen. with that setting set it seem to do all sorts of wired things.
Also when I selected fad in/out it kept taking me back to the app draw, stuck in a loop.
Hope feedback helps:
On a Galaxy S.
Nice to see a home screen with more animations, makes the phone look special, keep up the good work.
Logicalstep
I can't figure out how to get to the cube effect. I think its supposed to happen when I click apps on the dock. If so then it didn't work on an evo, an epic, or a nook color.
@Buff McBigstuff
It's desktop animations like ADW EX
So far it's potential but still a few things that could be changed... Gmail counter is a definite must No new emails and I've still got 4 unread even if under gmail I have non unread the animations could be used a little nicer having the option to set something instead of grey would be great
Hey
This needs a lot of improvement.
The idea is very good and has potential to be a great launcher.
It seems that when I have the App Drawer set to scale that it runs into an error. I open it up, and when I press home it jumps to the homescreen and back to app drawer. The only thing I found to get out off that loop is Force Stop or reboot.
The Gmail counter is off also, showing 8 when I had zero.
Other than that I really like. Your 3D wallpapers are really cool too.
Should this work on my rooted G1?
What are the requirements?
I really like how you can change the background of the apps so it looks like the touchwiz UI and how you can change the animations when you change screens like in GDE.
The whole launcher feels very smooth.
I noticed one bug. If you change the desktop animation to cube and then scroll around the pages it always changes the wallpaper back to this wallpaper.
Other than that one bug I don't think there are any.
You should probably make users be able to change the icons in the dock and/or change the background of the dock and the icons for the app shortcuts in the dock.
Great app so far,

Same bug here. Felt a little laggy compared to my current launcher (ZEAM).
Will keep on the device and continue to test as I like the idea of the cube transition animation.
Uninstalled and will never reinstall
I though your app had promise right up until it changed my desktop picture, to the ugle grey textured background. I will never...NEVER reinstall this app or any other of your apps. If you can not prevent it from doing something basic like that, you should not be developing Android apps.

Theme Template/Source
hi, do you have a theme template or theme source code i can get hold of to start doing themes for your launcher ?
thanks

Hi Launcher.... that reminds me of my Palm time, where i used a launcher with the same name. Anyway it is a nice launcher, just have to find out if
1 if i can hide the notification bar
2 if there is folder support to store apps
3 if it supports notifications for new messages, missed phone calls, new email
The cities for the weather are very few, it should have the option to choose other weather services with more cities. Seems also that applying themes for the weather widget does not work.
I like it!

More remarks:
Looks like the notification bar cannot be hidden, at least i have not found how.
There is no built in folder support lik many other launchers where you can drop icons on top of others to create folders. Personally i like folders much better then the used groups.
The dock at the bottom cannot be customized, i would like to put some other app shortcuts in there, also a slidable dock would be nice, to be able to accomodate more often used app.

I have 3 dock bars going. On the dock bar, while you can't change the main 5, if you have different messaging, dialer, or browser apps, you long press and you can switch from say the stock messaging to a downloaded messaging app.
I'd like to be able to create more folder sections. So favorites, Apps, Games, System, Newest, Times, Add I thought the add would create a new folder (say like a multimedia folder) but it drops in chosen apps from a list.
So I'd like to see it able to resize widgets, change the main first five dock icons, make new folders and rearrange their order. And maybe this is stupid but I'd like to be able to slide the folder area up rather than click and it pops up. It slides down...I'd like it to slide up.
New folder creation and arranging their order ,no problem.widget resizing still not available. Main dockbar icons change not possible, but selection of downloaded apps instead of stock one possible.

I'm using Go Launcher, but I'm sticking to 2.60 since that's the last one that returns to your home screen when you exit an app. I really don't like the way the newer versions return to the app drawer instead. Why this change wasn't made optional, I really don't understand

I think that's a tipical return, if you open an app from app drawer, when you press the back key to exit, it back from where the application was opened, instead of press back key, just press home key .

The behaviour used to be different and I preferred it that way. I usually want to actually exit an app, rather than leave it running in the background. It means that next time I start the app, it starts at its 'start page' rather than where I last left it running.
I'm not trying to say everyone should do it my way (although I'm not the only one who has complained about the change) - I am surprised it wasn't made an option. This is perhaps the most customisable launcher out there. I can choose from a million different transitions, separately for vertical app drawer, horizontal app drawer and home screens; I can choose what kind of home screen indicators I have, and whether they should fade out; I can configure 2 different actions for each dock icon, and choose a different icon for each. So it's really surprising that this change was made without providing the option for the old behaviour.
why is the title 'FINAL'? according to the website, theres another version coming.
My favorite launcher.
However, the sphere and cilinder transition effect for the homescreen(not the appdrawer) is very laggy on my galaxy s2 while it is smooth on the older galaxy s. Howcome?
And sometimes the appdrawer icon on the dock doesn't response.
How are the apps sorted in folders? They seem almost completely random to me. I thought it was order that you add them but I add new apps to the folder and they wind up in the middle of the folder.
It would be nice if they could be sorted in alphabetical order.
i am using adw , who can tells what differences between them?

My current experience with Sidebar as of now.
There are not as many little bugs, most are limitations in Android itself, but nothing that affect myself.
Those limitations being, the notification glitch, without having the notification android kills it.
Apps take longer to launch when current app is your default launcher.
The look is amazing, originally I was looking for a unity-esque side launcher, but this is so much more.
First, it looks cleaner than unity, by coping the aesthetic of windows 7.
Also it allows for task management, which I find conflicts with the Android's built in task manager and appears to duplicate app instances, but overall looks and functions pretty well.
You simply slide the icon off the bar to kill the app, or touch the icon to naturally open it.
A plus with the pro version, is that you can pin as many apps as you'd like. Plus there's the ability to pin widgets such as home, pause song, wifi and many more toggles. Currently shortcut to activities have been removed, but with the new, better caching system, I have a feeling they'll be added back
The scrolling of the sidebar could be more fluid; as in keep up with my finger better, but overall performance was fine and the app itself has a very small resource footprint.
This app has come a long way, and I can't wait for themes and easy icon rearrangement.
Good luck Mohammad.

I'm not sure why this isn't getting more attention, but this is the best side launcher app yet! You need to add the ability to manually change the icons (unless that's already there in the pro version...) and incorporate a multitasking function, where it showing running apps with favorited apps, however the running apps are highlighted to show they're running, much like Unity for linux. Great app nonetheless!
EDIT: I found a significant bug on the free version. When you add the max allotted apps, then delete remove an app, it won't allow you to add anymore back, even if you remove all of them, it just says you need to upgrade.

They have a completely different UI and feature set. That's like asking what's the difference between Nova Launcher and iOS. Sure they both have the same task but they're surely different. Try them both (they're free) and you'll feel the difference.
The best one out there.. Period.
I've tried various quick-launch apps over the past few weeks. Stumbled onto this just today. This is by the the best one available.
Very minimal layout, & customizable. Will be buying the paid version for sure. Kudos. :good:
One suggestion - can we get customizable animation time. Currently it's a bit too slow and without the animation its just too dull

Re: [APP][2.1+] Sidebar
Would be great if apps could have this layout
Just purchased the Pro version, and so far very nice! If you're taking suggestions however, i'd like a way to disable the notification, as well as a way to move the icons around into whatever order you like (rather than having to delete and reinstall to your liking). It would also be nice to be able to position the icons where we want as well, say from the bottom up, rather than the top down. But great job overall!
thanks
thanks
Thanks~

Here is an old version of the app. Is this better than Sidebar as it is on the Market?
Major differences:
- Uses a tab
- Solid color
- Less Settings
- Sidebar tears at screen edge when docking by draggin the tab
- Some lag on the dragging on lower end phones
Try it out (SUPER OLD VERSION): https://www.dropbox.com/s/pltw4vui9e2gbpl/Sidebar.apk and tell me if it is better or worse than the released version.

No it's definitely worse. The solid color is terrible in my opinion. It isn't as smooth, and also the constant tab is dreadful. Believe me you're heading in the right direction, don't go backwards.
If you are an Android user, maybe you have this experience, such as disliking original phone screen or wanting more excellent expansion. You may try some launcher before, but seldom attracts you to use them alone, maybe the reason is ads, slow speed or ugly picture.
Now Hola will provide fast speed, beautiful screen and good security for your phone to definitely solving your phone problem. Its splendid features are speed up, easier find app and setting up.

It's great. Here are the things I really liked:
It's available for android 2.3
Fast
All apps search feature
Small size
Here are the options I would like to see in future version:
In my phone, the icons looks big and blurry. So option to reduce all icons size would be great.
Disable icon labels on dock.
Disable icon and show only label for a particular shortcut in homescreen for minimalistic look.
Delete folder with all icons in homescreen.
Hide selected apps in "All Apps" drawer.
Disable all animations to make transitions very fast.
These are my suggestions. But, I don't want the launcher to become heavy and slow because of implementing these features.
I would give this launcher a shot, if it had alphabetical sorting of the apps in folders.
superb performance (as expected) :good:
love the "hola cult" idea (original apps - go for more , market and stuff) :good:
suggestions:
- agree with most of thhose mentioned before (if not sacrifising size/performance)
- ability to hide dock/status bar (shown with gestures)
- custimizations for default clock/weather widget [i get "applications is not installed on your phone"?! am i missing something?]
- theme mixing
keep up the great work! :fingers-crossed:
p.s. think i'm gonna give up on nova
Like Hola
I am using Hola for an older phone running gb 2.3.4 and I like it. Its small and fast. I agree with most of the comments above. Although I would prefer an app drawer, I could live without it if I could simply sort apps alphabetically in the folders. I am using it with Swapps and Smart Shortcuts, so my apps are organized already. I just stick the hola app folders on their own home screen and ignore them . I used Go Launcher Ex for a long time but it was buggy and it blew up my phone with the latest update. Hola is much better.
Love Hola
I love it, too!!

This is the launcher I currnetly use and I must say its amazing!!! I am gonna give it 5 stars. I needed launcher that was stylish, feature filled, innovative, but also didn't drain my phones memory and battery, and didn't run slowly. This is that launcher... It's PERFECT! Please don't stop your work on it. I highly prefer it over my stock launcher.
Pretty Gooooooooood! :good:
Landscape mode on tablet?
Does the Hola launcher have a landscape mode? I would like to use it on my Moto Xoom tablet, but I can find a landscape setting -
app grid
Hello, I started using Halo launcher and I like it.
But I am wondering can make all app alphabetical list be like a grid, not list - a grid with some pages, like original Android launcher? Is the list only layout?
Brilliant! Just one more thing...
The launcher is awesome! I already try a lot of lauchers (I'm kind of addicted on trying launchers... Kkk) and hola is incredible.
Thw ability of being beauty's and fast really satisfied me.
In my opinion, the only thing that is missing is the capacity of remove apps and folders from home screen. This is very important to me actually.
Tks, hola for the win!
