My current experience with Sidebar as of now.
There are not as many little bugs, most are limitations in Android itself, but nothing that affect myself.
Those limitations being, the notification glitch, without having the notification android kills it.
Apps take longer to launch when current app is your default launcher.
The look is amazing, originally I was looking for a unity-esque side launcher, but this is so much more.
First, it looks cleaner than unity, by coping the aesthetic of windows 7.
Also it allows for task management, which I find conflicts with the Android's built in task manager and appears to duplicate app instances, but overall looks and functions pretty well.
You simply slide the icon off the bar to kill the app, or touch the icon to naturally open it.
A plus with the pro version, is that you can pin as many apps as you'd like. Plus there's the ability to pin widgets such as home, pause song, wifi and many more toggles. Currently shortcut to activities have been removed, but with the new, better caching system, I have a feeling they'll be added back
The scrolling of the sidebar could be more fluid; as in keep up with my finger better, but overall performance was fine and the app itself has a very small resource footprint.
This app has come a long way, and I can't wait for themes and easy icon rearrangement.
Good luck Mohammad.

BUMP, people need to see this app!

I'm not sure why this isn't getting more attention, but this is the best side launcher app yet! You need to add the ability to manually change the icons (unless that's already there in the pro version...) and incorporate a multitasking function, where it showing running apps with favorited apps, however the running apps are highlighted to show they're running, much like Unity for linux. Great app nonetheless!
EDIT: I found a significant bug on the free version. When you add the max allotted apps, then delete remove an app, it won't allow you to add anymore back, even if you remove all of them, it just says you need to upgrade.

Great app! Purchased, nice amount of settings and customization. Bumped!
So it keeps running in the background? Drains battery?
so whats the difference with this and this http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2130082

They have a completely different UI and feature set. That's like asking what's the difference between Nova Launcher and iOS. Sure they both have the same task but they're surely different. Try them both (they're free) and you'll feel the difference.
The best one out there.. Period.
I've tried various quick-launch apps over the past few weeks. Stumbled onto this just today. This is by the the best one available.
Very minimal layout, & customizable. Will be buying the paid version for sure. Kudos. :good:
One suggestion - can we get customizable animation time. Currently it's a bit too slow and without the animation its just too dull

Re: [APP][2.1+] Sidebar
Would be great if apps could have this layout
Just purchased the Pro version, and so far very nice! If you're taking suggestions however, i'd like a way to disable the notification, as well as a way to move the icons around into whatever order you like (rather than having to delete and reinstall to your liking). It would also be nice to be able to position the icons where we want as well, say from the bottom up, rather than the top down. But great job overall!
thanks

Here is an old version of the app. Is this better than Sidebar as it is on the Market?
Major differences:
- Uses a tab
- Solid color
- Less Settings
- Sidebar tears at screen edge when docking by draggin the tab
- Some lag on the dragging on lower end phones
Try it out (SUPER OLD VERSION): https://www.dropbox.com/s/pltw4vui9e2gbpl/Sidebar.apk and tell me if it is better or worse than the released version.

No it's definitely worse. The solid color is terrible in my opinion. It isn't as smooth, and also the constant tab is dreadful. Believe me you're heading in the right direction, don't go backwards.

Yep, weather information would be awesome.
But after all, its supposed to be a clock widget, not something like Beautiful Widgets or Fancy Widget.
The editor by the way is absolutely awesome! great freedom of customization and aligning. Never saw something like that before
And yeah, more Widget Sizes would be muuuuch appreciated!
Testing now, looks promising though! Do you think you could add, if not already there and I can't find it, a vertical option as well?
Kinda tedious to use tuning option. Suggestion would be to be able to drag parts with your finger then use tuning for fine adjustments. Love the widget keep it up.
EDIT: and a left, center and right justify option

Sorry, I was at work and only had a minute to post. What I meant was that I think it would be good for you to add a vertical text option. I posted my lockscreen to show you what I mean. If your trying to give the app a lot of flexibility, that option would add to its appeal.

HeLauncher2 is a home replacement for the mobile operating system known as Android. The home application is the center piece to the users entire Android experience. Device manufacturers like to modify the home application to give the user a different feel for their device, to make their specific device stand out against the crowd.

Looks realy great ;-9
If you installe HeLauncher, what about the HTC widgets?
Does the HTC widgets still work or is it like when you use ADWLauncher that most of them, eg. People Widget, don't work anymore?
It's not smooth, it lags really bad when scrolling.
Enable bounce option is pretty strange.
The concept is pretty good but it needs a lot of work to polish it. Keep up the good work !
Wow..
I like this
Im not sure if HTC widgets will work. I dont find any lag when scrolling at all really, but yeah its still being developed. Thanks for all the pos. Feedback.
I really do like this launcher however as with any app of fine taste there is room for improvement. I like how simplistic and light it is, and with the death of Zeam we need another launcher of this magnitude.
However there is a need for performance improvements for scrolling it seems to lag a bit and isn't as smooth as it should be being as lightweight as it is.
The next issue lies with the bounce effect and the ability to use both it and the screen position thing on the top. When using the bounce effect with it when it bounces it says you're on the right screen then when it bounces back it says you are back on the previous screen and then moves back to the appropriate location.

TasKarou is a multitasking/task switcher with a touch of WebOs.
it overlays your home launcher, and make it easy, and fast to switch between apps through a WebOs like, or a grid based UI.
Launch TasKarou by clicking on the home button.
To access the home launcher, double click the home button from any apps, or single click the home button from TasKarou.
TO REMOVE THE ADDS, TasKarou Launcher Key is also available on the android market.
Features
Particularly useful for tablets, 'Quick controls' feature allows apps switching by swiping from the left or right edge of the screen.
Quick controls feature can be enabled without using TasKarou as a home launcher.

I had that feature in the prior versions. I decided to take it out because it was a bit inconsistent, since the android API post 2.2 (froyo) doesn't garentee the app you're trying to kill will be immediately terminated at your request.

Thanks for the feedback. My primary focus has been on feature completeness, and usability.
For the future updates, I plan to focus on polishing the app, both at the runtime/memory, and at the UI level.
Windows previews is a big one in my todo list. However it's pretty complex, and I'm still trying to get it to work. It's definitely possible though given the amount of screenshot apps in the android market.
Any hints/help regarding how to implement screenshot like functionality is definitely appreciated.

Hey guys,
I want to show you my first app "Exquisite Drawer" which I have just released to Play Store.
You can get it right here:
Lite Version: Exquisite Drawer Lite
Pro Version: Exquisite Drawer Pro
You want to know which changes made it recently to the app?
Here you go. Changelog in Post #2
This app I wanna share with you is a replacement for your standard App Drawer.
Now you might think:
"What the heck? Nobody needs this since every phone has already an App Drawer"
Click to collapse
And you are right. But then. Go into your apps and look......
Does it look good? Really?
I don't think so. And this is the reason why I created Exquisite Drawer.
What is different with this app? Why would you want to download?
That's a good question. To answer this let me show you some screenshots:
From these Images you can get a lot of information what the app is able to do but I will list the main features here:
- Change Colors of Text and Background individually (so there is no dependency on other elements)
- Enable or Disable sertain UI Elements for your liking (such as Actionbar or Titlestrip)
- Change Textsizes
- Use system or inbuilt font
Also you have the ability to display two different images within Exquisite Drawer.
One on top of the Applist and the other below.
So every time you want to launch an app you will see your favourite image.
The best thing about this is that those images do not affect your workflow since they scroll out of view.
Another exciting Feature is the inbuilt Theme-Switcher. For now there are 6 different designs which can be applied by only one click. At the end of this Post you will see them all.
What else to mention?
The lite version is a stripped down version of the app.
But you get a bunch of features over there too:
- Theme Chooser
- Change background color of Titlestrip
- Change fontsize of Titlestrip
- Hide Applicationicons
- Hide Actionbar
- Enable/disable Headerimage and/or Footerimage
- Choose a custom picture
- Choose side of Navigationdrawer
What are the pro only features?
- Use a custom Font from your sd-card
- Change background and font color of Actionbar, Applist, Navigationdrawer
- Change Textsize of Applist and Navigationdrawer
- Disable various Itemdividers
When I say you can change the color you propably thing about a list of predefined Colors which you can choose from.
But this is not the truth.
Infact you can choose any color you can imagine.
This screenshot shows the Colorpicker:
The same for Fontsizechanger which can be choosen incrementally.
So this was a quite long post. And when you reach this point I wanna thank you. Now there are only some Images to come. At first you will see the whole bunch of settings which are available and after that you will see all of the available Designs.
I hope you like it.
Ocean Blue:
Red Fire:
Purple Rain:
Gaucous:
Soft:
Black 'n' White:
Here are the links again. Just for convenience:
Lite Version: Exquisite Drawer Lite
Pro Version: Exquisite Drawer Pro
Thank you so much for reading all of this. If you have suggestions, problems or other genereal feedback please feel free to comment to this post.
I will try to answer it as fast as possible.
Changelog
Version 1.5.7
- Two new Designs added "Xda Light" and "Xda Dark"
Older Changelog:
Version 1.5.6
- Bug fix: Long press menu does not show up when both images are hidden

Thank you very much
ok having to write this all again cause it failed previously and message disappeared
anyways i wasn't really expecting anything special when i came here but was curious to see what it was about. so i decided to take it for a quick test drive and i must say im pretty impressed. even considering that it was just a lite version an all lol
the theme options are pretty cool even on their own. (pro allows more color/customizing of course). i was digging the simplistic black n white look too! also like the long hold app option that allows you to go pro, launch app, show app in play store and uninstall app. nice job there!! although i was slightly curious why purple rain & black n white theme didn't have these options?
overall was working smooth, don't remember coming across any bugs which is very good!! couldn't test battery life cause only used for a short period but im pretty sure it wouldn't have affected it much!

Great app, keep up on the designs.
Really promising I like to keep my device nice and minimal looking and this does the trick nicely. Cant use it as my default just yet as I rely on custom groups and categories to organise my millions of apps. But it looks like thats on your to do list so keep up the good work. I'll be sure to keep checking back!

Stay tuned.

The mentioned two themes are in the new Update which I has released just this moment.
Hope you like it
What a fantastic app! Have to admit I wasn't sure what to expect, but I have to say it is awesome and I've already purchased the pro version. Well worth $1.30. I would've paid twice that. Very functional and visually impressive. Can't wait to see where the development goes in the future. Great, great job!

This is definitively on my To Do list. But I actually don't know when it will be available. The next thing I am working on is to improve the overall performance and loading process. When this is ready for primetime I will implement new features such as:
- custom Categories
- hiding Apps (with a special feature )
- Exporting and Importing Designs
- Iconpack support
and many other things.
Thank you for your suggestion.
Also to everybody:
If you feel that anything is missing just write me. Also when you think that some strings should be improved just say something and I will look into it.
Really great. Thanks

Is there any way to make this the default drawer from the home screen when you push the app drawer button? Would quite like to give it a try with the Google Now launcher.

Your favorites apps one swipe away, from anywhere !
The app has been totally updated, here the highlight :
- new navigation drawer with google playstore categories
- edit your app name, icon, tags...
- mini mode, minimal ui, pure t9, faster launch
- quick swipe, up to direct swipe access to your fav apps
- full icon pack support, theming
- in app search with contacts, youtube, maps...
- many other configuration options

Nice really work, thanks :good:
Very nice idea!
But, but... Not even single setting for unpaid version? That hurts
Thanks
Yeah, sad to see no option of customisation for unpaid.
You should add features like, hide app. Grid size and all that

Are those features existing in paid version? Because there is nothing really saying for what you are paying.
Yeah - you don't even know what you are paying for. Not mention to test anything and say if you like it or not...
Uninstalled for now but I like the idea.
Apparently the procedure to hold home and tap the middle button doesn't work everywhere? I don't have any buttons visible when I hold my home button and view recent apps.
Ahhh... The search button offers App Swap. I've not really tried it, but i can see that App Swap is placed a little high, just off the top of my screen.

Great app; bought pro version on a whim. I think this could replace app dialer for me. I have a few suggestions:
-The teal color on the top and bottom should be user selectable; white or black depending on time of would be ideal (in your OP gif it's white so I don't know why it's teal?)
-Option to reverse sort the apps so the most used apps are near the bottom where they're easy to reach with a thumb.
-I like the color sorting feature-neat idea
-More icon pack compatibility; 'Stark' does not work with it?
Anyone have the apk of this? Wont let me download it in the pkaystore. I'm on aosp note 3
This is like Slide Launcher.. And slide launcher is highly customisable

Nope, just suggesting this.
Honestly, if the free has those features.
I'd be so happy.

Option to reverse sort the apps will ship soon
For the white color, the GIF was an old version. I plan to add color customization in a future release.
For icon pack, unfortunately only FREE icon pack works, I don't have a solution yet for PAID icon pack.

With PAID you get :
- hide any app in the drawer
- uninstall app from the drawer
- open the keyboard on search field when App Swap open (like iOS spotlight search)
- icon pack support, only FREE for the moment
- reverse the app list and scroll from the bottom
- ad free
- and more to come
I should document more this in the app.
Thanks for your feedbacks !
Thanks for telling me the features, so others like me know what to expect when they're purchasing the app.
At the moment I don't have any way to buy it so I will continue to use free version. Its still great and I used google now to search for apps anyways so this is just what I need.
Awesome work! Also just a question. What code did you use to get the google now like gesture? Like when you swipe up from home. You get an option to choose which app you want? What code to how can I achieve that?
Nope
It had gotten my attention, considering buying it after some more usage (just to be sure that it is getting along with my N5), but when I saw the ads...
Nope, uninstalled.

Um, you do realize that if end up testing it and liking enough to buy it there won't be any ads right?

Cool. I think the play store page should have more info about paid features etc...I'm an advanced user and even I couldn't figure out all the ins and outs.
Force close
I'm getting force close, log sent.. pls check the Play store crash report..
Great app. Just paid for it only to support the developer, the free version is good already.
Would definitely love it if it had xhalofloatingwindow compatibility.
