If so, how? I'm new to the galaxy scene, I could find my way around the HTC one, and was okay with the droid, but so far I'm pretty lost on this one, haven't even been willing to risk it on this yet, not until I understand it better and perhaps not til we have a working cwm

Not sure where to post this ans this seemed like the closest thing.
I was gifted a brand new Mytouch Q and I was looking around for root options or at least a forum but couldn't find anything.
If anyone can point me in the right direction it'll be a big help. Thanx in advance.

LG/Huawei makes low end phones so the phones they have on here either have to be popular and or high end smart phones. U might wanna google what your looking for or u can look in the android dev section and goto the android software development and hacking. (Before i edited this i was still pissed that htc dropped the mytouch line and was thinking about that and typed that instead lol )

It's not the LG one, it's the new Huawei model that came out the same day as the T-Mobile Note. Anyways thanx for the heads up, I will Google search it.

Good Luck with your new phone!!
Super1Click will work, so will Gingerbreak. Those Roms are pretty much themed AOSP. So it'll work.

Twinnfamous,
This is the myTouch4G Slide forum. The Q is a totally different phone. There is forum at android central that is exclusivly MTQ centered like this forum is centered around the MT4GS.

I sold this phone and bought a S3, the second day I had it. I already had a T Mo Note but wanted a phone to have to mess around so I thought that would be a good one. Ended up selling it for 250 and paid another 200 for an S3. Going to be selling both to get a Note 2. Thanx anyways.
Can any dev please close or delete this thread.

I can't believe someone bought that pos for $250 lol! Good job wow! Enjoy the SGIII.
Hey got this one sent to me from a relative. Does anybody know how to network unlock this phone?
I got one of this still unboxed yet and been sitting in the shelf for almost 2 years now since I haven't found a way to network unlock it.

Yeah... I'm confused also. I thought the Q is a new device. The Huawei is the newest MyCrap device. You must be referring to the LG models...
Sorry I meant a year ago. :/
And I am talking about mytouch Q

Lol yea it was a hipster guy and thought the white phone was "rad" lol. S3 and Note have to be the two best devices I've ever owned.

Mahahahhaha! That's hilarious! Gotta love hipsters... most just love alleged cool stuff like Apple or the diehards hipsters going after ultra obscure brands like Huawei. They are so sad like high schoolers or something
Ok...i got this charge cause 4g...but everything from software to hardware is bad...so I rooted it...hoping to go to ics...but instead the best I can get is a themed gingerbread...tweaked was the best thing I have found since having this charge...speed..battery life...so I donated...money well spent...I tried my fascinate...it has memory issues with jelly bean...then I was going to buy the developer sgiii...but it has no promises to let me go beyond jelly bean without issues...so should I just get the sgiii...root...buy some performances apps (if it needs it)...and just upgrade when a new android os comes out? ...hmmm

I can...i have been here and around looking for hope...something that makes this phone really work...i was thinking by now it would be really hacked...but the more I read...even some of the best gave up...so what should I look at?

SG3 seems really awesome - but I'm sure as soon as you get it, something better will come along that the dev community will follow. Also seems that VZW is trying to clamp down on these devices to prevent root and what not (lone advantage the Charge has - unbrickable).
But I would certainly go with SG3, I hear stock it's still great.
If what you are looking for is an overwhelming amount of dev and software support, why not look into a nexus?
I'm currently transitioning to the Gnex and it is pretty nice to have a worry free JB OS to play with.
edit: also, try waiting it out for the new Nexus if hardware specs are high on your list. While you wait, make good use of Dwith's hard work that he's put into the up and coming Tweaked 3.0 with FP5
Ok so I've read so many types for the Verizon one and an update coming out the 17 of October, my question is which one really works, latest one, least pain in the ass, anybody has one that works can you point me in the right direction?
There's a couple out, just don't know which one to pick, and do that have any bad residual? Hopefully this is in the right forum.

Is there any difference between the Nexus way and the Sprint S3 build prop way?
Before I put my foot forth and my wallet would like to know how you guys enjoy this phone. I was reading around about this SOD is it really that bothersome and common??
Also I had previous experiences with Samsung phone do you have to backup EFS folder with this one too?
Also how brickable is this phone, Samsung phones usually are easier to brick than HTC or LG.
Thank you for the input this community looks promising.

Pretty hard to brick, great phone for the price. Cwm makes easy nandroid and allows you to select how you want it saved. Sods are almost non-existent anymore. On ICS I don't think there is any sods. But I've been running test kernels for a week now for jellybean based ROMs and I think there's light at the end of the tunnel. All in all get it if you can't afford an s3. I personally like it better than the s3 because of the size.

Thanks, yeah I don't like phones higher than a 4.3 screen size. After that it feels like a mini tablet lol. So this is perfect with power, I don't think the s3 is all that necessary in Android yet. Plus I live in NY you always have to be looking if you know what I mean haha.
Any info on the EFS question if this phone has it? So I'll know to back it up

I just checked at best buy and they currently have the s3 at 150 with 2 year agreement my question is have you guys ever tried buying through best buy? Does your plan change in any way after you guys have done this? Tmobile always tries to make it impossible for their customers that's why I ask these things. I see it as a good investment worse comes to worse down the line I can just opt out and pay 200 penalty and I would still have my s3.

The s 3 is nice and all... but honestly the next phone I'm going to get in a couple years would be Ubuntu phone. Or a phone that can run it. (When released.)

Just wondering if anyone knows if inc is still working on roms for the s3 or did he move to another phone. He hasn't posted since November and I do recall he said he was working on a warm rom for the s3. Just wondering because he's a great developer and would like to see him back.
