No one should read answers like that.. damn.. too late!
But this post is totally off topic here and should be moved.
Also the title seem a little bit.. off topic too!

Thank you very much anyway !!

With the Nexus One it had a FM radio chip inside it, but it was disabled, they enabled it later.
This may also be the cause with Nexus S.
Only time will tell

Please edit title. BTW cyanogen enabled it on Nexus One, maybe he could enable on the Nexus S too?

You're wrong, I can confirm hat Nexus S has FM Radio chip (BCM4329) which has both FM TX & RX on the chip.

I wouldn't have thought so. To get TV out the phone's going to need certain hardware ports which the Nexus S doesn't have. It's not like it's just a software upgrade.
yes, think so, how to make it happen, HDMI?
but nexus S does not have it.
do not think there will be possible to make it

HTC One S with NFC ?

Check this Video out !
What do you think ?
Looks pretty real to me, didn't know it had disabled nfc
Sent from my HTC One S using xda premium
highly doubt it's real since if it's there, HTC should've advertise it so they will get more praise for it.
What about the Samsung s2? That has NFC but not in the software.
Sent from my HTC One S using xda premium
Probably not. NFC can't get through the metal back cover. Since it can't, I doubt HTC put any NFC chips in the device.

That's why the top and bottom covers are plastic. NFC could get out, just like wifi and cell does.
Why would they put NFC in the device and not advertise it ? They know what they put into the phone as much as id like it to be real it must be fake

Be nice if this is true. Not too bothered about it now though as NFC isn't really a big feature here in the UK (yet.....) and can't see it being that popular/"the norm" for at least another year.
It has happened in other phones as well i.e. my last android phone, the Samsung galaxy spica i5700, it had a FM radio chip and also multi-touch, both weren't enabled with stock samsung software and weren't advertised at all or listed in the specs. either, thankfully, one great developer got the multi-touch working superbly.
Is the youtube video creator a xda member?

Have the tear downs not showed a NFC chip ?
Sent from my HTC One S using xda app-developers app
I have build an NFC Chip into my Computer to test the possibilities of NFC with my One X. So I thought, could it be that the One S also has an NFC Chip but disabled it so that the One X has an benefit against his little brother. Than I tried to port the NFC Drivers from the One X to the S and it works very well, but you can't disable it and there is no Android Beam yet. I try to cook an NFC enabled, RUU based Rom with working Android Beam. Download Link: Is coming soon!

Quoted from the video... so the One S is missing drivers and all functionality?

If this is true about NFC someone should try hitting up leedroid on Twitter he's quite good at porting things over and can give it a shot if he would like to atleast bring it to his attention

Yup David111jr did have this up a few days ago....but the title of his thread didnt help to entice people to read :silly: When i showed this to a few other people, it was mentioned that it might be the cleaver use of Chrome to Phone. It would be awesome if it turned out to be true, but since people like to play nice tricks like this, we will have to wait and see. As for Leedroid, looking through his thread it looks like he might be busy with home things (after all awesome devs have home lives too ) . Hopefully a dev can either debunk or reproduce it. I will keep my fingers crossed for sure!!
Chrome to phone for sure. I call shenannigans.

All I saw was a video of a device opening up Google+ when it was near the tech tiles. Pretty sure that can be scripted pretty easily.

All teardowns I have seen thus far, eg. the directfix one, really just show how to replace the display so guess we have to wait till I slam a door on mine or something...

Hardware help!

So in the last three days I lost the vibrator motor, loud speaker, and the microphone. Anyone know if this has been an issue and if it can be fixed? Otherwise it's an RMA.

Did you drop the phone in the toilet? Throw it against a wall? Flash a kernel meant for another device?
If you answered know to all three questions: RMA it.

Does Voice Wake (Always-On Listening) work yet?

I'm talking about the always on listening where you can say "Hey Snapdragon" supposedly (same concept for the Moto X) or does it not work yet?
It works... If that's what you call it. Its Qualcomm's implementation. And they didn't seem to do the best job so its not really reliable.

Its not working on my end. Are you judging from video reviews or do you have the device right now? I don't see anywhere in the software to train it.

Yeah. They likely had a different build on those units. I have the international version. I was lucky to get an invite.

International and no wake snapdragon
I think this functionality will come in an update. They made a post in their forum asking for suggestions on what command do we want to wake the device.
