[Resolved] Wrong account in google calender - problems with push - General Questions and Answers

Since a few days I have problems with the google calender. Events I create on my phone won't push to another phone. Only an email is sent to the other phone with another account.
If I take a look in the google account settings of the other (my partner) all is ok. The account based on yyyyyy*googlemail.com. Also in the settings of her calender the correct email/account address is shown.
My account is xxxxxx*googlemail.com. Main settings, Google Mail, all is fine. But when I open the setup of my calender (standard calender) I see the owner of the calender is xxxxxx*GMAIL.com. So if I create an event, the event belongs to xxxxxx*gmail.com and I think this is the reason why the event won't push to my partners phone - because she is only allowed to see events from xxxxxx*GOOGLEMAIL.com.
I tried everything - deleted all events in my calender. Create a new calender, but if I do so, the owner is also xxxxxx*gmail.com.
What can I do? I can't delete the calender or set it back to default
I am right, that this could be the reason?
I hope someone here can help me - please and thanks so long

So ... great I tried a few things again. I deleted all my events in my own calender again. After that I deleted the calender cache on my android phone.
When I now create a new event over the google webcalender, the event isn't pushed to my phone. Also all other events out of my webcalender won't sync to my phone.
A manuell sync on my phone at least creates the events on the phone.
I thought about just create a new google account at all, but I can't switch the apps I bought to another account.
/edit
Solved. Deleted account and created a new one

[Q] Contacts not syncing to Gmail after initial sync -- Samsung Captivate

Hello,
I recently obtained a Samsung Captivate and synced my contacts (through the stock "sync" feature in Android) from my phone to Gmail. This worked very well, however after this initial sync, new contacts that I have added to my phone have not synced with Gmail. Help? Also, I don't know if this matters, but I use k-9 mail instead of the default Gmail app. However I have tried also having the default gmail account on and it doesn't seem to have helped
Anyone? It's getting to be a bit of a problem
I'm having a similar problem
I just got the Samsun Fascinate yesterday and I'm having the same problem. My contacts synced fine from google/gmail but when I added a new phone number into the phone yesterday it never synced up. I was able to add new accounts in the google/gmail and have those sync up on my phone.

When you create new contact are you ticking Google on the "save contact to" pop up?
good day.
Nope. I got that figured out now though. Thanks for the tip!
I think google broke something somewhere, since yesterday automatic sync in gmail got broken, not only for me but I've seen others having the same problem.
I am on the international version of the Galaxy S
I realize this is an old thread, but my problem is almost identical, so I don't want to clutter the board with a new thread...
Captivate. Stock. US.
My contacts have NEVER sync'ed upbound to Google account.
In Contacts>Menu>more>Accounts, sync IS turned on.
By the way, the Google account has NO contacts in it. And I don't need the arrangement to move contacts from google to phone, only from phone to google (as a back-up).
Am I missing some step to make it start syncing?
Here is another thought...all my contacts are in SIM; do they have to be in phone memory for sync to work?
Apologize for the bump here, but this problem remains...no sync from phone up to google--only the other way.
I enter new contacts (generally phone numbers and name only) on the phone--not 1st in gmail. So, I need for PHONE-ENTERED contacts to sync upbound to goggle, but it does not do it.
Is there an app that makes this work, or is it just a Samsung/ATT/google fail with no fix?
If the contact is not flagged as a google contact then there is no way to get it to sync to google. So to remedy that you need to delete all phone based contacts and reneter them as google contacts. Use the below steps.
From the main contact screen hit the menu key then select more then settings then save new contact and select google and all contacts will now be saved as google contacts and thus sync both ways.

Hmmmm...if you do this (make all contacts be "google" contacts, do they reside on your phone or only "up" at google. IOW what if you have no data net connection at all (phone or wifi), are your contacts still on your phone?
Have you tried logging in @ http://www.google.com/contacts? Export My Contacts to a local file in Outlook CSV format. Then use iCSV Address Book in Android market to import them from the local csv file.

I have no contacts at google--they are all on the phone...actually on the SIM; I want them to go up to google, thus your suggestion will not work (nothing at google TO export).

then try it the other way around. Export your contacts in your phone to a csv file then upload them from within google/contacts... did I say that right?

[Q] Bug in hotmail calendar - birthdays + wp7?

I've noticed a bug in WP7 + live.com calendar. If you let your account to put birthday dates automatically from facebook account it is of course added to your calendar.
However when you later on remove facebook account from live.com or your phone. The birthday data are still there and is impossible to remove them. When you try to do it you just get an error I think it's because the contact does not exist anymore as you removed fb account from it.
When you add fb account again, the birthdays date is again uploaded so you will get for each contact two duplicate date for birthdays.
Does someone know how to fix this? Because of some issues on my phone I was adding and removing fb account from my live account and phone for several times and now my calendar is filled by many duplicate dates which I'm unable to remove.
I haven't removed my Facebook account but I did notice duplicate entries for birthdays in my calendar.
Some are showing in my default calendar and the duplicates are in the automatically added Birthdays calendar.
I don't know why is this happening, but I don't like it.
BUMP
Does anybody know a solution to this? I think ot's hotmail's fault, but still.
i have the same issue. no solution found.
Maybe hotmail has to clean it up ?
Ask support for help maybe cause its annoying.
I do not fully understand the problem/issue you're having.
My FB contacts do not automatically show up in my Live calendar. In order to have my Live Calendar show FB Birthdays, I have to subscribe to the FB Birthday calendar on the Live Calendar (website). These Birthdays are then treated as a "new" calendar on my phone and I can have it set in a different color. As soon as I remove a friend from facebook, the birthday will be removed from the subscribed calendar (well, not "instantly", but during the next sync), therefore from my Live calendar as well...
EDIT:
of course, removing your own FB account from your phone won't delete these calendars. Your FB account still exists and syncs to your Live online calendar. You would have to unsubscribe from your FB Birthday calendar as well, using the Live Calendar website.
EDIT2:
I should also mention that the FB Birthday subscription to your Live Calendar is "read only", you can't modify or edit dates for these subscriptions from your live calendar, but only the FB calendar.
I'm having the same issue and it's really annoying. I've previously had to remove my Facebook account and then re-add it and since then I've had duplicate birthdays for Facebook contacts. I don't want to remove fb accounts again and risk getting triple entries.
Tomorrow I will be trying to contact MS or windows phone support to find a solution to this problem. It cannot be that hard to fix. I will post here when I find anything out.
Anyone find a solution for this? Its extremely annoying and frustrating, especially when MS doesn't care to try and fix what should be something very easy on their end.
Solution for duplicates problem
I know, this thread is old, but I have been confronted with exactly the same problem. I disconnected my facebook account and reconnected it - after that I had double trouble with my birthday entries.
No matter how you got duplicates (or like in my case even triples!) - the solution is actually really simple.
I assume in the following that your live account is correctly connected with your facebook account (click here to check that)
The resolve the problem, do the following step by step:
First of all: Look that every birthday, which is not from facebook, comes from a contact in your contact list (yeah, I know, this step sucks...).
After this, you should only have birthdays in your birthday calendar which either come from facebook or from your contact list. Ready? Good.
Delete the birthday calendar. Just click on its name on the left and then click on "Delete". Confirm the security question.
After this, there shouldn't be a birthday calendar any more. Else refresh the page by pressing F5 and/or repeat this whole step. If it won't disappear, remove the connection between live.com and facebook and try again.
Now create a new birthday calendar. But wait! Not by creating a new calendar, but clicking on the "New" entry on the top and then on "birthday calendar"! Give it a name (or leave it as it is) and click on "Save".
Enter the properties of your newly created calendar (click its name on the left) and click on "Refresh" somewhere in the middle of the page. If your live account is connected with facebook, live.com will get all those birthdays for you and save them in your live birthday calendar - but only one per facebook contact.
Of course, if you have entered the birthday in your live contact record as well as in facebook, you'll get two birthday entries in your live calendar - but I think you'll get over that. Or just remove it from your live contact.
I hope this will help everybody with duplicate birthday entries from facebook in their live calendar.
Greetings

[Q] Sync'ing Google Calendar FROM Phone TO Web

Ok, I've searched for this and the few solutions that I have found do not make any difference for me, so either, something fundamental has changed at Google, or I have set something else wrong.
The Problem;
I have one Google Calendar and one Windows Live Calendar set up on my Windows Phone. (HTC 7 Pro).
Until 2 weeks ago (approximately) every thing sync'd correctly both ways.
Now, events entered as Google Calendar Items on the Phone do not sync with the Online Calendar. Events entered on the Online Calendar sync as expected.
I have tried changing the "Automatically add invitations to my calendar:" setting to "yes" or "yes, but dont send event reminders....." as suggested in other threads, but this does not have any effect. i am aware that this fix will not work on events created before the setting change. It does not work with events created before or after the Setting was changed.
The Windows Live Calendar syncs properly both ways. There is no issue with this, but could it's presence be affecting how the Google Calendar behaves?
Any further advise would be appreciated.
Have you considered that it can have something to do with summer/vinter time. check that you phone and gmail account have the same time zone and both are updated to summer time.

I've had the same issue on my Samsung Focus since I pretty much bought the thing. I gave up and finally just moved to the live calendar. I guess I could try again now that I have Nodo to see if that fixed it.
There's nothing for NoDo to "fix" on your phone. I've been using Google Calendar on my Focus since day 1, and it has always worked (both pre- and post-Nodo) once I got it properly configured (using the "Automatically add invitations to my calendar" setting). I just tested it to make sure.
I wonder if your Google account on your phone has become corrupted somehow. Have you tried deleting the account from the phone and recreating it?
But, I am puzzled that you say that the events were syncing correctly before. If you didn't have the "Automatically add invitations to my calendar" setting enabled, I don't see how that could have worked. WP7-created events are only sent as invitations to Google, and without that setting, they can't show up in your calendar.
Thanks for responses.
I'm fairly certain that this is not a DST issue. I have checked clocks and all seems correct.
Apologies for confusion, robodad.
I switched the "automatically add invitations..." setting to NO about the time it stopped working, but didn't notice until the last couple of days that it had, stopped working.
On noticing, I researched and discovered how this setting should be set to YES due to the way that Google handles new events from WP7.
Now that this is switched back to YES it is still not sync'ing.
A response to the same question on Google's forums has suggested that the ICS is broken. I do not know what this means but it appears that this is at Google's end.
Hello,
I've exactly the same problem with my Trophy 7.
i had the setting on " yes, but don't send.." , the appointments came into google calendar with a question mark.
All of a sodden it stopped working, so i changed the setting to "yes", but it doesn't make a difference.
The strange thing is that it does work both ways on my iphone, so there is no problem (i think) from googles side as you suggested.
This is very frustrating because i use google calendar as my main calendar, i hope someone has an other solution.
Thanks for any help.
Monique
Update
Well, from the Google Forums where this has been posted (OPs:-Am I allowed to link to that from here?), Google have now taken some sort of ownership of this and are apparently looking into it.
They have contacted (seemingly) everyone that has posted on their Forum for details as to the problem.
Maybe something sorted out soon.
Latest from Google
This posted on the Google Help Forum as a work around.
Hi everyone,
Thanks for keeping us updated here with what's worked for you and what hasn't. Andrew has been working with me off-thread and has been super helpful, and we think we might have a workaround for now. Do you guys mind trying this out and letting me know if it works for you?
1) Delete the "Google" account on your device
2) Add an "Outlook" account
3) Be sure the email address is correct the first time it asks you
4) Device will say "Check your information and try again" and give a more
detailed form
5) Be sure that both email address and username are correct in this form
(domain can be blank or a dummy value like "goog")
6) Device will give "We couldn't find your settings", choose "Advanced"
7) This time device will give a field for server, enter "m.google.com"
8) Now it should sync.
9) Configure the account as desired and you should be able to add a
calendar event successfully
10) Keep using this account or, optionally, delete this account and add a
"Google" account (either way is the same)
Cheers,
Alice
This appears to have had limited success. Certainly hasn't worked for me. But does appear to have worked for at least one other contributer there. If intermittently

Can you please tell me how did you sync your phone calander with windows live account? I can not do it.
Latest from Google Forums
This from Andrew who seems to be doing a lot of work on this.
"I've spent quite an enjoyable an hour on the phone with a mobile-software chap from Google, who has access to sync logs. What's happening in my case is that although I set up the sync with my gmail address, the phone is sending events with my live.com address as "Organizer", and those events are being rejected. This happened again when I connected with a test Google calendar account as well -- my phone used my live.com address.
Steve then tried to sync his phone with a test Google calendar account, and events created on the phone were synced correctly. He then tried his phone with *my* Google calendar -- that is, set up my gmail account on his phone -- and the event was created with his live.com address (and consequently was rejected).
So: the issue can be reproduced using my Google calendar account and any phone, or my phone and any calendar. But no phone should be leaking live.com addresses to Google.
Investigation continues. I'm now going to look for a way of reporting the problem to Microsoft..."
I fear that this may be bringing the issue back full circle to NoDo. We shall see.
Automatic?

erfansaberi,
So far as I am aware, i never had to do anything other than set up the account, to sync my Live Calendar across from Phone to Desktop to Cloud.
I use Outlook Connector with Outlook 2007. This syncs the Desktop.
To be honest i don't use web apps at all (other than Google where i have no choice at present) as I am invariably on a Mobile Data connection and at least Outlook only transfers the relevant data, and not all the gubbings required to render a web page, in a browser.
I also have this google thing problem... It is quite annoying.
Did anyone here try to delete the account and create an outlook account trick? Does it work? I guess it also removes the contact list, doesn't it?
Work around?
Not sure if someone has come up with a good work around yet, but this is annoying as heck! I actually lost some calendar events after creating events on the phone and syncing to google calendar. Darn you google!
Anyways, after playing around a bit, I think I've got something that works (for me anyways). I created a contact with my own google email address that I use with Google cal in it (it happens to not be an @gmail.com address). So this is pretty much my own contact card with my google cal email address. Now every single calendar event that I create, I have to go to "more details" and "add someone". I add myself under "required" and making sure to select the google cal email. Strangely, after syncing with google cal (manually or just wait a bit) it will show up in google cal.
The setback is that you'll get an email notification in gmail and all the events will have a little "?" next to it in google cal since you're supposed to confirm you're going or not to that event. But at least now we can backup our events to the cloud instead of losing every god dang thing if our phone goes to the crapper.
SOLVED (well sort of)

I have been having this issue for the last month and have found something that works for me:
On your Windows Phone do the following:
1. Open Settings
2. click email & accounts
3. click your google account
4. Under Content to synchronise make sure that Email is ticked (this was not ticked orginally for me).
5. Add a new event to you calandar
6. go back into Settings -> email & accounts and click and hold you Google account until the menu appears and select synchronise
7. you should now see your newley created calandar event in your google calandar web
]
This seems to work for me, I do not have to re-sync from the settings>email area either as it happens automatically.

[Q] contacts will not sync to google

my wife got a new d2g and the contacts wont sync to Google. this is the second phone she got in less than a week do to other problems, and the phone before this would not sync either. and it is just the contacts, the calender and the gmail sync fine. under the google account on the phone all the options are checked to sync and it shows the arrows that its trying to sync but when i look online there are no contacts. any ideas?
I'm pretty sure that it's considered normal behaviour. If the contacts weren't added manually after setting up a Google account on the phone, they won't sync, or at least that's what I have here.
My dx sync just fine and I set it up the same way. Not sure what the deal is.
Sent from my DROIDX using XDA App
Ok gonna take a wild guess here and say that you had the carrier transfer contacts from the old phone to the D2G and that would explian why they do not sync.
Look at the contacts (might have to go into edit mode) and see what "PROFILE" it says for each contact.
My guess is it says Phone Only.
What you need to do (and I'm going off memory since I am not running stock myself)
Edit each contact and in the menu there should be something that says NEW contact that will take the info from the one you are editing but ask you which account to make the new contact for. Select your GMail acct when asked and save it.
Then fine the gmail version of the contact you just made and select join or link and link it to the Phone only version.
This will give you one contact that has two profiles, phone only and Gmail.
What I suggest for anyone moving to Android for the first time is to get all your contacts into GMail (using above method) Import all your facebook contacts as well (You can do that through Yahoo Mail wizard and exporting to CSV then i8mporting into Gmail) and once your GMail has a complete and accurate contact list wipe the data on the phone and sync with Gmail to get all your contacts back. Be sure to make a backup of all your contacts on GMail once you are done to guard against future corruption issues and to be safe.
Cloud Contacts is not one of the best features of the phone but once you have integrated all your current contacts into GMail and joined them and Facebook into a proper list it is not a problem anymore.

Android 11: How to change the default account for new contacts and new events?

Hello all,
I am a happy user of Android 11 on a Pixel 3a. I decided to host my contacts and my calendar events on my own Nextcloud server using the davx5 (CalDAV/CardDAV provider for Android).
So:
- I deleted all my contacts on https://contacts.google.com/
- I deleted my events and calendars on https://calendar.google.com/calendar. Unfortunately, it is impossible to delete the "Reminders", "Tasks", and my name calendars (I imagine these are default mandatory calendars)
- I synced with my Android
- I disabled the sync of "Calendar", "Contacts" and "Tasks in Calendar" for my google account in the "Accounts" settings
Now, my Android is clean from any google contact or event. But when I create a new contact or a new event, they are added to my google account by default... So I need to be careful to chose the davx5 account each time.
So my question is simple; how can set my davx5 as the default account for my new contacts or events?
Thanks for any help!
