I just tried to use ninjamorph and coincedentally my market app lost its theme. So i spent ages try to remorph it back (one i created) and htis didnt work so i did it old skool way by adb pulling the Vending.apk but everything inside there is themed still.
Nearly about to give up but decided to look inside my app folder (/sd-ext/app) and low and behold there is an app inside called com.android.vending.apk
So wtf happened here? did something update and DL without me knowing? (shouldnt as i am on CM 5.0.6)...
BTW: now after ****ing about with it and pulling com.android.vending.apk and themeing it and pushing it back i have lost my market!
***edit*** i gave up- thank god i did a nandroid a few days ago. still dont have the themed market anymore- somehow it created the app inside sd-ext again...
Yeah.. market was updated a bit ago.. no control over it.. rename com.android.vending.apk or w/e to Vending.apk and then push into system.. then theme as normal
done be scared.
Well ive lost my market already too, but dont be afraid of losing it, you can jst flash the gapps zip from cyanogens website or go to other in rocovery and redo your gapps too just to let you know
Tried NinjaMorph now, woow, this app is amazing !
Hi man ! Your theme is awesome !

do you know how to do a restore for the LG Ally with this system dump?
if so, how? i've been looking and googling for days and this file has been the most helpful in my search for my missing files, i just need to know how to restore the phone cuz i reaaaallllyyyy messed mine up with deleting important things.
Ally apps from dump
I'm on a nonrooted Captivate using Android Central Sideload Wonder Machine, and have also tried Droid Explorer, neither can install any of the apps from the dump, does anything need to be done to the apk files before they can be installed?

I'm sure the Ally dump isn't de-odex'ed? To get these to work on another Android phone you need the odex files as well (apk and odex) and than they can work. As of right now the dump can only work on that particular phone, in this case the Ally.
EDIT: I was looking forward to this too. I want the clock/weather apk
I know it's a bummer huh, can't find too many good alternatives to these official widgets and programs, a lot of 3rd party ones work OK but they just don't feel as clean.
OP, can you get the odex files plz? That's the only way we can get these to run on a non Ally phone.

there is an odex file for every apk file in the app folder of the dump, if that's what you're looking for. like the weather widget you and I were both hoping for there's the apk for it "clockweatherwidget.apk" then an odex "clockweatherwidget.odex" right next to it. Forgive me if I'm not being of much use I'm just now venturing away from windows mobile.

The .odex's are included. Could you elaborate?
I have only been able to get two Ally app's functional on other phones. I had to resign them, they are Socialite and Divx Registration. Both have been posted in other threads.
I think the clock/weather widget will only work with the LG launcher.
i like to modify the zip files by removing certain apk's from system>apps folder that i don't use before flashing the rom. my question is related to the DCSImpl.apk and DCSUtility.apk...
i always remove apk's related to the Stocks app cuz i never use it. i was wondering if those 2 apk's are related to Stocks and if they're safe to remove?
I was wondering the same thing about these files. I found someone that removed them with no problem. I just did the same.
It would be nice to know what these apk's did, but I want to get rid of as much bloat as possible.
thanks

nice find! thanks!
Ok so i was wondering ... i got the NexusHD2 ICS CM9 ROM for my HTC HD2,
If i open the .zip file up, system>app and then you'll see a list of system apps like Browser.apk, Calculator.apk, so i was wondering, can i delete the one i won't use anyways and will the Rom still work?
Please respond ASAP I wanna install the ROM
Yes, you can even move some system apk files to /data/app, however, there are several applications that need to be left in /system/app.
There is no guarantee with the following list. Those are just my finding so far.
braces > can be moved to /data/app
! > should not be removed
ApplicationsProvider.apk! (Browser.apk) CalendarProvider.apk! (Camera.apk) CertInstaller.apk Contacts.apk (ContactsProvider.apk)! (SpareParts.apk)! DownloadProvider.apk! (DrmProvider.apk)! (MediaProvider.apk)! DefaultContainerService.apk! (LiveWallpapersPicker.apk) Mms.apk PackageInstaller.apk! Phone.apk! Provision.apk! Settings.apk! SettingsProvider.apk! Superuser.apk SystemUI.apk! TelephonyProvider.apk! Torch.apk (UserDictionaryProvider.apk) Vending.apk (VpnDialogs.apk)
Yes it will still work when you flash the ROM because the apk files you deleted will not be found by the installer and will ignore whats missing.

You dont have to delete any, just put them into QUARANTINE that way you can use them later when you need them again.

downloaded and installed latest build of illusion ROM.
its fantastic but i am missing the phone app.
its listed in system/app.
im able to make calls from the people app and from messaging.
I used ES explorer to get to System/app to delete phone.apk and replace it with a different one but it would nto allow me to overwrite or delete the apk.
id really like to try this ROM, anybody got any help?
in the meantime the only other idea i have is to reflash AOKP and see if it comes up.
going to use the same Gapps (justinbean inverted) and see if it changes anything.
any help appreciated.
