I have a Motorola XT720 and i bought it in India.
I had rooted my phone and installed Dexters Froyo a week back.
Since I have done the update to the ROM, whenever I reboot my phone;
all the apps on my phone gets deleted and the widgets/apps on the homescreen show error of reference.
Please help me out.
Do I keep Dexters Froyo or move back to the original ROM?
Please help?
Thanks in advance,

Hi guys, hope someone of you can help me.
I've got a Huawei u8150, with android 2.2 i guess.
Trying to remove some apps with names like launcher:assassins creed, i've rooted and removed launcher2, what a noob, sorry for that.
Launcher2.odex
Launcher2.rpk
Now the telephone don't boot and i don't have that files, and i can't figure how to put that files back on my telephone.
Please help meeeee!
Grab a stock rom (you can find some here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=940397 ) then flash it.
You do this by putting the dload folder on your sd card, then turn the phone off and hold volume up and end when you power the phone on.
This will wipe all the data off you're phone and give you a fresh android installation.
Thanks for your quick reply
Is there another way to avoid the flash thing?
There's no stock rom for my country, Argentina, and i fear to make it worst.
If you have a custom recovery you could package launcher2 and try to flash that.
You're phone should still work with a rom from another country though. Mine's from New Zealand but I've flashed a German rom (has 2.2.1 instead of 2.2).
Thank you very much, i have my phone live again, thank you man!
Next time i'll try that german rom like you.
Thanks again.
Hello everyone.
So, I have a Motorola Defy, which came with android 2.1 when I bought it.
Shortly after, I upgraded it to 2.2.
A few days later CM7 came out for the defy! (GREAT! ROM btw).
All is well for a couple of weeks, when suddenly, my speaker breaks.
Sooooooo...Im gonna take it to be repaired, but first I need to roll back to the latest official rom for the Defy, which is 2.2 (Personal - Argentina).
I flash the chinese rom first, no problems there, then, I flash the nandroid backup of 2.2 (Personal - Argentina), also, no problems.
Finally I unroot the phone, and try, but fail, to remove the recovery app.
The options to do so are simply grayed out.
I've tried wiping data, cache, and partition but no luck.
I've also tried re installing the app, but still, no luck.
So, I turn to you, great minds of android development. Can you please help me with my predicament?
Thanks for your time.
Nevermind. I didn't search well enough before. I found a post with it and just restored it.
Hey All, I need a stock nandroid of 2.3.3. Here's my dilemma. I updated to 2.3.3 through the LG update tool and then my phone started acting all crazy. I then decided to revert back to 2.2.2 using this tread and it still didn't solve the craziness.
http://theunlockr.com/2011/05/23/how-to-unroot-the-t-mobile-g2x/
I contacted T-Mobile and I have an exchange on the way, but I told them that I have 2.3.3 on the phone and I would like to return it to them that way. I tried just updating the phone again with the LG update tool, but for some reason it thinks I still have version V21E. Any help would be appreciated.
Thanks All!
Hi All,
I own a Motorola Defy. I am kind of new to android developement. i had 2.2 on my phone and wanted to upgrade, followed all the steps available online for cyanogen 7.1, liquid arc, etc. with all the ROM's i had the same problem. Everything goes fine, until i reboot my phone. The moment i do that after installing new ROM. I loose network connectivity and a pop up msg comes up continously saying android.phone.com stopped responding. From there i have to do the complete wipe once again. i read in some forum about flashing radio, however i dont see this option in my recovery mode at all.
Anybody who knows how to resolve this????????
I looked this up in the forums. This applies to going from 2.1 to 2.2, but sounds like it may help you. http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=947578
Thank you for the reply.
However, I was already running Froyo on my defy. I can also go back to that via RSD or by restoring it to the ROM i backedup before i started this testing. My concern is why i am not able to Install this custom ROM and make it working when all others can do it without any issues. I am still running Cyanogen nightly ROM (2.3.7). I also know the moment i restart my phone it will loose network connectivity and will keep getting those pop msgs. Is there a way to curb that.
Appreciate the help...
You can look for MIUI for the defy. I have also MIUI on my Defy and it works perfect
Sent from my Galaxy Nexus using XDA App
Thanks for your reply....
I was missing the defy baseband update. Thank fully that fixed the network connectivity issue. Now i am running ICS 4.0.1 perfectly. Except the camera everything is working smooth. Had little issue with restore from Titanum backup. But an unregistered version of TB fixed it.
sorry for making yet another "i need help thread" but i need some help.
i had a D2G on the latest OTA GB, SBF'd back to Froyo (blur version 2.4.330) to get on CM7 (now i decided i just want stock). and since the phone is no longer activated, i cannot use System Update (it is greyed out). How can i update to the latest GB? just SBF to the latest? i just dont wanna mess up the phone any more than i already have. any help is really appreciated!
Flashing the SBF for 4.5.608 would be the best solution.
I'm also not quite sure why System Update is not available for you; it doesn't depend on activation at all. I've never had my phone activated on VZW and yet system update worked perfectly.
ok i will do that now, thank you for the help, it is much appreciated!
