Same here.

Working fine here on 2.3.3. It's not listed under Manage Apps at all?

mine has gone too, I don't use it so not really fussed.

It seems that it is just the shortcut that has stopped working. Try opening it from the app drawer. Delete the shortcut and recreate it and it should work.

its gone from app draw...

Hmmm, strange. Recreating the shortcut worked for me. Did you try uninstalling and reinstalling it? What about rebooting? I've noticed occasionally apps disappearing from the app drawer, but usually a reboot brings them back.

[Q] No YouTube

My Nexus S is on 2.3.3 and I wiped everything on it so I can start fresh again. For some odd reason my YouTube doesn't work anymore. I see the app under manage apps & "all" but does not have an icon in my app drawer. Anyone have any idea how to resolve this?
Uninstall it and then re-download it from the market.

It doesn't even give me an option to. Under market and YouTube, I see the "Open" icon but its not highlighted. It won't let me open through there. You think downloading the same version of it and trying to install it would work?
Go to manage apps and then go to YouTube and uninstall from there.

Others had this issue just a few days ago. http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1028532

[APK] Dialer Shortcut (for missing lockscreen dialer shortcuts)

Ran into the issue where the lockscreen shortcut wasn't showing the Phone in the list. It was kind of pissing me off, so I made a simple app that will simply launch the Phone app. That's it. It's just a shortcut essentially.
Install as a regular APK.
I've named it "Phone" in the app drawer and gave it the same icon (as seen in screenshots below). I can rename it to like Dialer or something if you guys prefer to be able to distinguish it, but I'm sure this will do the trick for the majority who have this issue.
Works great thanks! It was pissing me off too after flashing ROMs it would dissappear
Thanks

How do you install this on your sensation? I tried clicking the link and installing as a regular apk as I normally would and it says the content is not supported on the phone. No application can be found to open this file. I even tried scanning the QR Code and it doesn't seem to work as well. Any suggestions? I appreciate your help as I am a noob on here.

Man, thanks so much for this APK. Just ran into this issue myself, and your solution worked out perfectly.
Any help for this issue? Got a "The application DialerShortcut (process com.roman.dialershortcut) has stopped unexpectedly. Please try again. This happens everytime I try to press on the shortcut. Thanks beyond a million for the apk!! As a company, why the hell would they remove the damn dialer shortcut!?!?!
this worked for my HTC sensation, I really appreciate you creating this app, thank you.

Do you mind sharing this piece of source code? I am newbie and want to create a shortcut to other applications in the draws. Thanks.

How to get rid of carhome???

Ok, so I got a g2x eb rom, faux kernel and a magnetic holster on my belt.
The problem is, carhome keeps popping up every time I place my phone in and take it out. Freakin annoying.
Nothing is working and I can't find carhome launcher apk ANYWHERE, only carhome apk.
Tried:
1. Un install through ti bckup and android
2. Dock no app and other apps that should stop carhome from starting
3. Pm packages disable through terminal
4. Delete apk altogether...
Nothing is working. Any suggestions?

have you tried removing it via adb? I mean, delete it, reboot and you may get an error if s/g tries to launch it. Also try an app called app quarantine, I use it to freeze apps and I know it works for car home. You can also try a program called ROM Tool box, by JRummy. If nothing works, get a new ROM, or reflash as it could just be bugged.
Thanks.
The problem is, I unstalled via titanium. No apk of carhome.
So there is no apk to quarantine or stop via apps.
I think my problem is that the carhome launcher is the pia. I can't seem to figure out how to disable the launcher. No launcher apk anywhere.

Have you tried using Bloater app?
Sent from my LG-P999 using xda premium
I did the following to get rid of it:
1) extract the cahome.apk from the ROM zip file and install it.
2) Once installed it should show up in titanium backup
3) tap on car home in titanium backup and click wipe data and then the uninstall.
4) reboot,
That should remove it .

I used Rom Toolbox from the app store and uninstalled it. Poof its gone and no issues! Just go into the apps section and hold car home, then select uninstall.
Glad one of.my suggestions worked. Please hit the thanks button.

Yeah installing /uninstall doesn't work. For some reason it always comes back.
I got a diff app, disablecarhome on the market and that one finally seems to work.... If that acts up again I'll try the apps mentioned.

Oops, nvm, was reading the post on a bumpy bus, thought the person who said they used ROM toolbox was you. What app exactly did you use and why?
I am not an advance user, but I did managed to removed that piece of **** carhome without ****ing anything up.
1) Install Root Uninstaller. It is a free app on market. (I assume you have root access, since you said you are using faux and eb rom)
2) Find Carhome, check it, hit Backup in case you want it back, then uninstall. The apk should be saved on your phones internal sd right now, back it up to your pc as you desired.
3) At this point, your phone should pop out something about kineto (sp?), crashing. I've try anything I can think of but nothing will back you out of that error loop. No fear though! All you have to do is pull battery out
4) Turn the phone back on, now enjoy your phone without that piece of **** app bothering the **** outa you
Freezing it should also work since it is not available in app drawer.

[Q] Need Dev help, homescreen issue

This may not be the correct place, but I figure one of the devs may know the answer.
On the Atrix 2, from the (stock) homescreen, I press the apps button and my apps show as normal. Usually, from there, I can press search and type "market" and market will show. This works for all my installed apps. However, recently, when I press search from app drawer, the whole home screen force closes.
Any ideas?
Thanks

Same on mine using the stock home. However when I switch to ADW ex home, it works fine.

Will I be able to "app search" by hitting the search button once I'm in the ADW launcher's drawer?

Kind of. When you press the search key in ADW's app drawer, it takes you to the Google Search application, where you can change what you search for in the settings.
This is apparently an issue with a recent Google Search update. This is a rather widespread issue with all Blur devices if you have the latest Google Search installed from the market. Thekooliest over at Atrix Forums found a bit on Droid-Life about it. I however do not know if there is a fix for the A2 for it. Try uninstalling the Google Search update.

[Q] Choosing toolbox crashes settings

As title, I'm running 5.02 (Netherlands) on a P900. Everything is pretty good and I can switch on toolbox but if I actually select toolbox then settings crashes. Any ideas?
EDIT: Did a data wipe and that fixed it. Wiping the cache did not sadly.

Thank you. I can confirm that it works now.
I think it's the initial set up that's causing it to crash. Once you have one app on the toolbox, setting no longer crashes when pressing toolbox.

Well, I did figure it out in the original post
Looks like we have a way that doesn't involve a data wipe now though, so that's better
Thanks, this worked.

Wish I would have read this before I did a hard reset
Oh, that's what those 3 dots are!
Thanks, Yoshi! I've been trying to figure out what those 3 Dots were once my Note Pro "downgraded" to 5.02.
I'm having crashes with Toolbox as well. Once I followed your instructions, the 3-dot icon had the apps I picked. Then I realized this was "Toolbox". Of course, a little documentation about what was being changed by version 5.02 would have been a great help. But it seems like it costs too much nowadays to create documents along with hardware/software.
But why would I need Toolbox when I've been using Slider Launcher app for a few months to do the same thing? And Slider doesn't have the 5 app restriction of Toolbox as well.
Now if I can only get my Logitech Pro keyboard and the Samsung keyboard to work like they did under 4.4, and the S-Note widget to show all my notes ... well, here's hoping 5.03 will be soon coming and enhance my tablet instead of degrade it.
