I want to use something like this but I can't get CWM installed/working on my Epic. I'm running DI18 and it IS rooted with all original apps, just no CWM for some reason. Can you or someone make a version that will be an update.zip which is pre-rooted and can be used in normal recovery please?

No. I did not sign the zip.

Ah, any chance you will be creating a signed one?

Uploading signed copy. Not guaranteed to work in normal recovery, and not tested. Give it a try and report back.

How does the process differ if you have ext 4? Is there a step to convert the file system back to rfs?
Thanks again for your hard work.

No. It flashes back to stock DI07 and does not touch recovery. I believe this is to give you a clean slate before flashing ROMs or a quick fix for when somthing goes wrong flashing zips.
you still need to flash DG27 to DI07 so you can get the latest modem.bin..what does this mean??? do i have to do something after i flash this rom that is attached?

It means you have to already have the DI07 update installed first because it only flashes the system, not the modem/phone or data.
updated!!!
http://firon.net/xda/SPH-D700-modem.DI07.update-signed.zip
Here's a modem updater. You need clockwork to flash this. Rename to update.zip and copy it to the root of your sd card.
This will update your modem/baseband from DG27 to DI07.
It will not check your phone's version, but it will at least make sure using it you're on the right phone model.
It will NOT overwrite root, your kernel, or anything else. It only touches the modem.
any chance of the original epic Rom? the one that came with the phone prior to DI07? i used Oden to rever to stock and then applied the update (DI07) but Android Market is not working (i'm guessing corupt (g)Talk file).
Data Wipe + Clear Cache did not seem to help when in clockrecovery, the android market wont let me download anything
noob, would you mind posting a copy of the DG27 modem.bin file? Some of us are having issues with Bluetooth audio and I wanted to see if reverting the baseband would solve it.
Awesome, noobnl you rock. Now i'm gonna really start messin with this phone

Hello all I'am new hear & i'm sure this is a noob Q but if my phone is rooted & has DG27 on it can i use Clockworkmod to flash this stock.epic.DI18.rom.update.zip to update it?
The Older Build .zip file is busted i downloaded it two times & both times winrar says
Code:
! D:\net down\stock.epic.DI07.rom.update.build2.zip: Unexpected end of archive
Clockwork also said the file was no good
My question is can i update my phone from DG27 to DI18 with the first file in the OP? & then use "update-modemtoDI18.signed.zip(from post #14)" I was reading things about having to up date to DI07 before going to DI18 also if any one would be kind enough to point me to the right files & stuff to get my phone updated. I have been on this forum & a few others for about 4 hours now and i can't seem to find an answer

Yes.
you won't lose clockwork recovery but you might lose root.
if you lose root access, you simply need to re-root or flash a new kernel.
He just needs to flash a rooted kernel and that's it. Just in case.

Thank you!!!
its not letting me download the file.
Edit: Ok i was able to download, now im getting a md5 mismatch
Is this FroYo, the official build?
Thanks for giving me access to an updated bp_nvm_default.
Can someone PLEASE tell me how to get to 2.2 from Rooted 2.1?
I installed this yesterday. One thing to remember is after you install this to wipe user data after you install the nandroid. If you dont you wont be able to get past the blur setup. You must have a blur account for this. This nandroid is a stock 2.2.1 froyo us rom with blur. The only thing in this extra is that it is rooted and has recovery installed. If you want to get your DEFY back to a stock rom after installing something else this will do it.
I flashed this but have been stuck at the Moto logo for about 10 minutes, it is just in a boot loop.
How to install this please.
NO one can help?
i hope you all know what nandriod backups are? you must have clockwork recovery on your defy (which means you gotta be rooted) then put this nandroid backup in the backup folder inside the goapkrev(or however its spelled) folder on your sd card, when you boot into clockwork, press restore, and pick this backup you downloaded, after restoring, wipe data and reboot. Cheers! i prefer the leaked froyo, it has jboogie's blurless ginger/froyo rom which is beast.
That is what I did and how I got into this mess.

[Q] CM7 to Stock 2.3.4

Hey,
I'm new to Android, and still pretty bad with it, so when I set out to flash a custom rom last week, I never bothered to setup a backup. I didn't think it was going to be as complicated to get back to the way it was when I took it out of the box. I guess I'm still use to the iPhone. Now, I'm not completely happy with my phone and am looking to go back to stock.
I've looked in to it, and it seems easy enough, but I just have a couple of questions:
Pre-CM7 I'm pretty sure my phone was GRI54, and i9020, It's now GRI40. Does this make any difference?
And, finally, where can I download an official version of this?
Any help is greatly appreciated,
Thanks.

yes, the default for all stock 2.3.4 roms will restore the recover back to stock on each reboots you have to rename/delete the install-recover.sh script to prevent it from happening

Sorry? I have to delete the files to keep clockwork from being removed?
All I did was flash it, restart, and clockwork was still there.
Also, my phone's internet speeds seem really slow now. Could this be from now having a different build? (GRI54 -> GRJ22)
Sorry for my complete lack of knowledge. It's quite obvious I jumped into something that's much over my head.

A stock rom has the script. So flashing it will also restore stock recovery. If the rom you installed does not restore the recovery partition, the the rom was not completely stock.

I've never used it myself.
Looking over the zip file, the script has been renamed, so it's not 100% stock.
Normally you would need to root the phone to change the file name.
Perhaps renaming the file in the zip will correct the issue?
try renaming /etc/install-recovery.sh.bak to /etc/install-recovery.sh and re-apply the zip. ( no need to wipe )
That rom was posted by dsixda, he may be able to confirm what needs to be done.
If you had root, it would be fairly easy to rename it.

This doesn't seem to work. It does gets you back to stock rom but I still have the old modem I flashed, old APN, CWM Recovery and still there and factory reset doesn't works. Just hangs with the little Android guy and an exclamation mark.
Is there something like ODIN for Nexus S to go back to stock?

This should work:
http://android.grdlock.net/index.ph... S&PHPSESSID=9dc0c107b878587d1e0b21ec1e3130ef
This should bring you to stock 2.3.3 for the i9020a
Then apply the official patch:

This will then bring everything to stock 2.3.4 with proper baseband and recovery

[Q] Remove Custom Zips/Mods

I have LG Nexus 5 Phone rooted recently. With Custom Recovery I have installed some Zips (Called Mods). One of the Zips is Corrupt and my phone is not responding at all. I want to remove the Custom Zip/Mod only as I don't wan to wipe off whole system.
Is there any way to remove that particular Mod using TWRP Manager or any other way without loosing my data/stuff on my phone.

@anshumangoyal, maybe the there is an "undo" zip file, a revert to stock zip file? What mod have you flashed?
Dirty flash your rom, no wipe, and you won't lose anything...
And no automatic backup, you need to do it yourself in recovery, first thing to do when you flash some stuff.

I may be asking very silly questions, but this is what I was able to know in last 1-2 months and "still Learning"
Ok, it seems you don't want to post a link to the mod you flashed, or at least say the name, I asked 2 times and maybe we could do a revert zip file for you if we know what you have flashed (it depends of what kind of mod) then...
Take a look here to return to stock: http://forum.xda-developers.com/google-nexus-5/general/tutorial-how-to-flash-factory-image-t2513701.
Or flash a stock rom via recovery? Maybe easier for you...

Oops I am sorry, I was not aware of terminology here. If I see in System Setting I have Build Number: KOT49H and Kernel Version: 3.4.0-gadb2201
Is this information you are looking for. I had unrooted latest android software, which I rooted using wugFresh tool kit software on windows 8.
Model: Nexus 5, LGD820, D821
Android 4.4.2 KOT49H
I hope this will help out.
Nope, it's not what I asked but...
I gave you a link to some full stock roms (rooted) to flash in recovery: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=52732041&postcount=4 (use the first one for example).
Put it on your phone via computer, reboot in recovery go to the zip file you've just put, flash the zip file and reboot, the modified files from the mods you flashed will be replaced by the original stock files.
Use this link to "learn" how to use some commands (manually) and return to stock when you encounter a plroblem: http://forum.xda-developers.com/google-nexus-5/general/tutorial-how-to-flash-factory-image-t2513701. Here you need to flash the system.img (I guess, since I don't know what you flashed), or "all"...
Maybe harder for you since you used a Toolkit the first time but with time and reading...
If it seems even too hard for you, then in your Toolkit is there an option to return to stock, reflash the system.img?
When I ask you what mod you flashed, I mean it's a theme? A kernel? A sound mod? A camera mod? Because if we know what you flashed, maybe we can do a revert zip file for you by replacing the files by the stock ones in the zip).
What is the exact name of the zip file, the last you flashed and gives you problem?
Read all closely and take your time...

Can anyone confirm if smart lock is working with this rom? I've been reading that the OTA broke smart lock.
Is it still safe to use flashfire 0.18 or I have to use the newer version?

You need the newest version for 64bit devices. I think it is .20.

K, thanx
So, the posts I'm seeing in this thread are confusing me...
I am on the previous version (AOC3) stock rooted. Do I need to Odin to the new OTA tar, pingpong, and then FlashFire this? Or can I just FlashFire from AOC3 stock rooted to this?

I would Odin to OE2 so you get all the firmware bits. Then you can re-root and flashfire it.
So here's my situation. The company I work for is switching to at&t so I'm going to sell my phone.
I'm trying to avoid using Odin because I've got a guy that wants to buy right after work.
If I download this and flash, can I factory reset so that I can give him the phone as it was coming out of the box?
Thanks for any and all help.
