Hey guys,
my sister bought a sim-locked phone in india, and I can't user my local sim.
what would be a free way to unlock it?
I tried searching the forums and couldn't find anything
Hi all,
I have recently bought a Samsung Galaxy S7 secondhand off someone who was selling it - he said that he didn't like it and wanted a different phone. At first, it worked, however a day or so later, there was no access to the carrier network and I was unable to receive calls, make calls or send texts etc.
I contacted the carrier and found that it was reported STOLEN. I'm now stuck with a phone that is call barred and banned or blocked from the network. Plus, since it was originally locked to the carrier, I can't use any other sims.
I have tried two different third party unlock codes, both different companies had refunded me as they were unable to find unlock codes.
Would a phone root and sim unlock be the solution? If so, what are some resources I can refer to?
Sorry but you won't get any help trying to unblock a stolen phone, even if you state it was not you who stole it
You should be trying to get a refund / help find the original owner
How do I unlock my uncle's Samsung Galaxy S8 Plus from Sprint Network, I would appreciate any help please.

As far as I know, Sprint, being a CDMA network, even if you unlock the device, you will not be able to use it with other networks unless they accept it. So you can't insert a GSM sim freely and use it straight away.
However, as I saw someone else pointing, with the S8 and S8+ this might not be the case because they are built differently.
My advice to properly investigate this issue because paying any unlocking service.
I have a galaxy s8+ with sprint and bought the unlock code for it and now using on t-mobile for the last few weeks with no problem. I paid $25.00 for the unlock and they will send you instruction connecting to their remote PC to unlock. you have the put the phone in developer and turn on USB debugging. I did flashed the phone with USA unlock firmware to get rid of the sprint firmware.

Can you please give us a bit more info on how and where did you unlock your phone.
Did you call Sprint directly and they unlocked it or what was the procedure?

I paid $25 thru swiftunlocks .com and they send me the link to download an app . Connect phone and turn on USB debug. Chat with other guy online and they tell you what to do. Then they unlock thru computer connecting your phone. After few minutes they will let you know it's done. You try with a different sim card.
After that I flash with unlock firmware and used it in tmobile since then

And what about Sprit software, will that get removed after the process?
And regarding flashing unlock firmware you mentioned, is that required step, and why did you flash it?
I contacted one software company if I can call it like so, and they told me the price would be 50$ for unlocking S8+. They are removing the Sprint software form your phone, but I am wondering, why is the price twice higher than on swiftunlock, any thoughts?

Hi! I live in Ukraine and I am thinking about buying sprint S8+ bad esn on Ebay. Will it work internationally (in Ukraine)? Do I have to unlock it to use internationally? I had many Verizon bad esn phones and all of them work perfectly.

Needing my s8 unlocked!!! Please help!
Please help.
I'm new here and can really use some help. I bought a galaxy s8 plus from a friend at work, who had gotten it from their nephew. I want to unlock it, but Sprint won't help me because I'm not the original account holder. I've really hit a brick wall and would appreciate any and all help I can get.
Hello, does anyone know how to SIM unlock Sprint Google Pixel 3a (G020G) ?
I bought it from ebay and they told me it will work in Europe but it says SIM Card Is not supported. It runs the oldest Android 9 version and I can turn ADB on, OEM Unlocking can't be enabled.
You would need to take it to a Sprint store to unlock it. It is likely blacklisted though.
I have a funny story. I had a pixel3A bought from the google store but got the screen repaired under Sprint warranty. They sent me another device. However the device was locked. I went through weeks of calls with Sprint "unlocking" the device. But with it "unlocked" I was only able to use Sprint MVNOs. I get the same SIM error if I try to use a GSM SIM. Then to some degree I believe there is a big challenge regarding this device, at least using it with a non Sprint MVNO.

Hey so I recently got a new phone and was planning to give my wife my Samsung Galaxy A13 Verizon version, so I factory reset the phone and started to go through the set up but it stopped me because of my SIM card. I don’t actually have Verizon I have T-Mobile, but I bought the phone outright and they won’t allow me to unlock it for my carrier without having a Verizon contract for 60 days or so they tell me.
My question is there anyway to bypass the setup and just get back to the main Lock Screen or am I kinda locked out of this phone?

What do you mean locked out? Did you forget the pass/PIN/pattern? Or did you forget the login email and password?
Whether there is a SIM or not, whether activated or not, you should be able to complete the setup on the device to get logged into the device using WiFi then after getting signed in you can try getting the SIM setup straightened out.
If the device is from the Verizon network, you will not be able to use it on T-Mobile without the device being carrier/SIM unlocked.
