[GAME] Volcanic Ascent Beta - A new addictive climbing game! - Android Apps and Games

I have recently finished the beta of my game 'Volcanic Ascent'. The whole game was programmed completely by one person (me). It is not 100% complete yet, but it is relatively bug free, and quite functional. Could you please test it? Feel free to be as blunt as you want. If you think it is the worst application you have ever downloaded, then tell me, but please tell me why. Likewise if you think it is great.
I am trying to get as much feedback as I can to fix any raised issues before I can confidently call it a full release (I don't think it is quite mature/polished enough yet). I have been working pretty solidly on it for the past few weeks (50-70 hours a week) as I go back to uni soon. I need to get it as polished as I can before uni starts sapping my time.
Any input is welcome. Have fun!
Search "Volcanic Ascent Beta" on the market (I can't post links just yet).

Pretty entertaining, even if your dogs are apparently better than me.
Gave me a headache pretty quickly though. The background is a bit too much. Maybe make it a bit darker?

Interestingly it was much lighter and faster moving to start with. I found that to be a bit much and slowed the game down and darkened the background. I might make it slightly darker again in the next build then. Thanks for the feedback!

basic but pretty fun i suppose. got avg around 45-50k points
are you going to be charging for this?
(not that i care, just curious)

I am not 100% sure what I am going to do yet, my current plan is to release a free ad-supported version and a paid version with a couple of extra features and no ads. What would you do if you were in my position out of interest?

probably the exact same thing you just said you'd do

Used to be another game I used to play similar to this years ago.
Well I died with a score of 467 seems you can't control with tilt xD
But yeah, the background is nice, but you move so quick it can give you a headache.
I liek it!
EDIT: My bad, seems I got a ghost powerup which made the game steroid-infected.
Playing again now

Hahaha. Nope, I haven't added tilt control as of yet. What the hell, I will give it a go tomorrow (it is past 6am for me here, and I still haven't gone to bed . Too much programming...).
The main reason I haven't added it is because I am a bit worried about how tilt tends to have a slight delay before moving. I wasn't sure how effective it would be as a control mechanism when compared to touch considering my game needs a lot of quick reactions. I guess we will find out! And yes, the ghost powerup may be a little on the fast side xD.

Not bad, additcing. Dont know what it is, but the way the screen moves, really hurt my eyes and head after 20 secs, lol

Great Game
Works well on my captivate and is very addicting. I felt that the speed is ok but needs to be slightly slower and the ghost mode is way to fast haha other than that awesome game keep up the good work!

It doesn't seems to be available on market for my phone. I've a Samsung Gt-I5500 (galaxy 5).
Here some full info for this device...

Ah, my game currently does not have support for 240x320 resolution screens. I loaded up an emulator at that resulution and it is indeed extremely difficult to control. Additionally there are a few graphical glitches caused by the low res. I will have a look at adding support for that resolution when I add tilt controls.

Thank you for your quick reply. I'll wait for a release for that low res screens...

I will slightly bump the speed down for the next version then, and also slightly darken the background. The speed is something I am trying to get just right. Too slow and it makes it far less action-packed, but too fast and it gives you a headache. I might slightly increase the speed of dangerous objects to keep it somewhat balanced. I will bump the ghost mode's speed down a bit too.
I am also going to add more information to the help/about as I have had a couple of people complain about a lack of info. I will look at tilt controls, and I am going to add a simple achievements system based off of the height milestones (you achieve a new milestone every 5000 score as you climb). I will also start looking at ways to implement a new powerup (time-stop).

Pretty fun. I have to agree it gets kinda hard to look at after a while. But I think it is just because everything moves so fast. Great work. I look forward to playing it some more later.

Updated, slowed the game down slightly (about 10%, I am hoping a small change will help a lot). Also added tilt input! I have spent about a day trying to make it work well for this particular style of game. I think I did pretty well with my implementation of tilt, but I would love some input!
Touch the screen to use touch controls, otherwise the tilt controls will be active. As before, double-tap anywhere on the screen to jump to that spot.

Have you guys checked it out? What did you think?
Also, please note that the next version will likely be the full final release version (unless there are unforseen issues), and I will be spending the next week or so working on it. The tilt update was the 8th update I have done to the Beta.

Tilt controls work pretty.
No longer straining my eyes and the speed is just about right.
Though I'm still not very good at it
oh ho ho! just beat my high score

[GAME] Horror Run! A new game we published just now.

Hey everyone.
We're currently working on a cool little game, first version is already out in the market. It's called 'Horror Run!' (name is a bit meh, but it works..).
There are a lot of ideas floating around to improve the game and we'd like your help for more ideas!
You can read about the game in our blog, or download it from the market to try it out (it's free).
Let me know what you think, any comments and criticism are welcome, and the negative are surely better put here and not in the market itself
We're especially looking for ways to make it more addictive and a bit more versatile. Right now a global high score system is our first priority for next version
But any idea is welcome, and if you like the game and think something is missing don't hesitate to post
Thanks!

UPDATE: An update was just released to the market. It adds OpenFeint support for global leaderboards - we feel that was the most sought after feature so we used the (very) little time we had to work on that and it's finally done.
Again we're like to thank everyone here at XDA for supporting us and downloading the game, as well as providing invaluable feedback. keep it up

u can actually do double jump by press jump twice.. or jump+roll to make it dash while jumping.. u can also try double jump and roll which usually result in suicide..

it's an okay game.. definitely not 1st of its kind but the added graphic makes it nicer than some others similar game.. but the problem is its getting pretty boring after awhile... maybe u could give more type of obstacle like consecutive "double demons" or add obstacle that needed to be double-jumped to get through. or u can make a combo obstacle that won't allow the player to relax (after roll then the player must quickly jump then follow by double jump or whatsoever). of course it should be after a while the game started to added more difficulty...
i'm thinking an extra dash button would be nice to add.. adding more possible gameplay. so jump+dash would replace jump+roll.. jump + roll could be another action (such as immediately roll after jump). well, i'll leave it to ur imagination =p...
Great graphics but gets tiresome for me cause I keep dying
One touch and dead from a bat is a little harsh but the game is very challenging, lol. Really good job though just not my preferred type of game.
Downloading it now on my Galaxy S!
Awesome game, has a lot of potential. Runs great on my phone and graphics are good, only thing i'd change is the Menu graphics, make it a bit more pro .
But still, for a first release i'm impressed. I would change the 1 hit 1 die rule too, and add more levels/maps/objectives etc.
It's so fast I keep dying so quick lol
Fun game - good graphics.
Took me just 2 tries to figure out the controls. Not the most obvious icons, but they are in a obvious location ;-)
Looks awesome i will try it
Similar to Free Running (search Market) but more challenging and has more features. Also like Robot Unicorn Attack (see Facebook/Adultswim, I'm addicted to this game) in terms of game play.
Suggestions: background sound, sound effects, balance the game a bit (in terms of difficulty, sizes of enemies)
Downloaded the game.
First impression was nice graphics !
Personally i think the gameplay is to quick, i keep dieing, maybe a easy - normal - advanced setting ?
Your Game is ok but noting pretty special but it runs pretty fast on my Milestone 2.
Besides what about adding items e.g run faster or invisible.....
looks great and runs nice, im sure you will work out the little things, i wish i could program in java, my games would run much smoother, lol ive been using appinventor, i can get them to look pretty god, but gameplay sucks balls
Downloading now will report back soon
Phew, lots of comments after the nothingness of the first couple of days
Thanks for all the replies, great feedback, this is just what we need!
To the actual points:
I didn't realize it was that diffucult, I guess when you're the one making the game things seem easier
And Of course I'm well aware that the thing is repetitive to the point of being almost mundane - This is indeed a first version and a form to 'test the water' sort of speak. There are several ideas cooking to make it a bit more diverse.
Some things that will definitely make it into future versions:
1) Multiple lives before game over (already working)
2) Make the starting speed a tad slower (already working).
2) Add an easier difficulty level (probably main/only difference will be the starting speed to be even slower).
3) global highscore system using Feint or the likes, to make it a bit more social (Probably separate board for easy/hard).
Things I want to add if I overcome some obstacles (silly pun intended ):
1) More enemies and background pictures. Currently I'm having some memory and performance issues, trying to work it out. Might switch to OpenGL
2) Achievements, using Feint system probably - things like get 10K points without rolling a single time, get 10K points w/o collecting a single treasure item, get 10K points while collecting every single treasure item etc.
3) Bonus with special effects. Right now I'm thinking a shield and a special fly mode, but we'll see...
I'll try to professionalize the menu, but it's not easy when graphics it's not your profession
I'll release partial updates in the following weeks (at least the lives and easy mode are already mostly implemented so they could easily make it).
Hopefully the part time job and being a full time student won't hinder the progress too much and I'll be able to get some more meaningful updates soon after the exams are over (i.e. near the end of February).
Thanks again for all the input!
Really like the game, really addictive to break your own score, currently at 5030.
Works very well and stable, doesn't lag at all!
really like the sounds in the game.
Maybe an online scoreboard would be a nice feature?
I'm also wondering in what language this is programmed, just in Java with like a game development SDK?
Keep the games coming!!

[Game][2.3+] 2d running platformer Crisp Bacon: Run Pig Run - huge update!

Hello again, everyone!
It's time to bump this over 2 year old thread, because Run Pig Run finally got an update it deserved and needed right now. There has been many reasons, why it took so long, but lets not get in to that now. I can't even start describing, what was changed... Almost everything, actually.

Hello, xda-devs!
A while ago I've uploaded my first game ever to Android market and currently I'm furiously searching for any feedback, so I could fix and improve it as much as I can before starting to create new levels, power ups and other "secondary" features.
It's a simple 2d platformer+running game, but it is the biggest my Android project so far and I'm very happy that it is actually.. em.. works!
Edit: adding old gameplay gif for comparison

Hey, I tryed your game and I really like the cute graphics.
Be careful with the menu structure, It can get unintuitive very fast. Less is more in that case.
What I was wondering is how you coded the game. Are you coding in Java, or native C++? Do you use a engine or do you to everything yourself?

Thanks, I'll try to keep my menus as simple as possible. I don't think that main menu will have more buttons anyway, so I'll just have to tidy them up a bit.
I'm coding in Java and using only basic SurfaceView. I was thinking about engines before I've started to develop this game, but I decided to see how everything works in the "basic" (if that's the right word) level.
So you're not even using OpenGL ES?
I'm impressed by the performance of the game.
How did you code the sprite animations if I may ask?

Nop, just a basic SurfaceView. I don't really know if I'm doing something right in drawing, except avoiding using images with transparency as much as possible (which sucks, because I'd love to add one more movable layer of background). It, actually, runs pretty slow in low-end devices, but I'm planing to optimize background images for them.
My animation code is absolutely basic, because I just used code from some video tutorial, so I just have use one image with all sprites and, depending on which state pig is in, set sprite offset and animation frame count of that sate.
It works very well on my Transformer, I haven't played it much so I haven't gotten a bug yet. I'll be playing it tomorrow at school so if I find anything I'll let you know.
1.5 update
* added sprites (a bit ugly, for now) for extra high DPI devices
* added "vibration" for better "being hurt" feedback (needs new permission for that)
* lowered music volume, so it wouldn't overwhelm the sound effects
* fixed a "force close" while loading level (thanks, whoever did hit that report button!)
* balanced climbing speed
1.6
* improved background drawing performance (saved up to 5 milliseconds per frame while playing around with different PixelFormats). Hopefully it won't ruin performance in non-samsung devices.
* added power up: pepper
* added collectable: empty bottle
* added new map allowing to test new "pepper" and new game mode (collect as many bottles as possible)
* updated "boring map" and made it less boring
* changes in level stats to fit new modes
* fixed several force-close bugs
* fixed "exit" button in settings page
* minor bugfixes and updates
Also, people are reporting that Galaxy Nexus control issues are fixed now.
https://market.android.com/details?id=com.snottyapps.pigrun
1.6.1 update:
* fixed issues with low-dpi screens
1.6.2 update:
* added new level to test new gameplay mechanics: level is repeatable, with unlimited time, but after you run trough it second/third lap there are no valuables or bombs you've collected/exploded in previous level rotations.
1.6.3 update
I've added new test level, where I experiment with boss fights. Player is able to throw bottles at huge evil bomb which spawns smaller, but still evil, bobs. So far, it's very simple, but I have big plans for such kind of levels.
Increased character acceleration to reward players running "fluently" for longer periods of time.
I going to try this on the X8,which with a 600MHZ CPU is very low-end. Will give feedback asap. Does this game have anything in common with line-runner? That's what it looks like to me.
fun game man
Loved this game, However, if you make the 1st stage(infinite one) bigger it would be nice. And please add more bosses.
Okay, I tested the game. The pig gimmick is very nice, but you should extend it. In some sort of Intro the player should be show why he is playing a pig. For Example, you could make a farmer that is chasing the pig, the pig should also look more panicked.
The game is great!
Could you maybe post the source code of the game here?
Or a little tutorial, how to make a game like this?
I would really appreciate it.
Thank you for that awesome game.
Great little game. I love how the pig climbs over walls. This game works very well on my Dinc2. I haven't made it past the first level yet lol.
Very cool game, I especially like the menu style.
Runs flawlessly on my EVO 3D.
downloaded it and my son gave it a thump up.

I'm curious, how did it run? I've seen it run on couple of low-endish devices, I've also tried it on my Galaxy Mini (unfortunately, I can only see a portion of the screen, which is almost completely broken) and, I'm not sure if it really does okay, but for some it helps to turn off some widgets/internet connection.
It is obviously highly influenced by running/jumping games and I've tried a ton of them to compare/look for ideas or things I dont like. I did not have any ideas on how it will be played after I complete it and, to be honest, I'm not sure yet - as you can see in the levels which are already made I'm experimenting with a different modes/styles of play and I've more of them in mind. Maybe it will be a mix of everything combined with a crazy story line. Hopefully that will be fun for some

There will be more levels, that's for sure - these are kind of for testing purposes and, to be frank, not very well made. If you like large levels, you may like my future idea of "mega levels" combined from smaller ones
I'm also not very happy with boss fight mechanics right now and before I'll start adding more of them (also tying to the story line) I'd like to polish that part to make it more fun/challenging than it currently is.

Uh, that's my painful spot - since I'm VERY amateurish programmer, my code is terrible and I would be completely ashamed if anyone would see it. Same goes for the tutorials - I'd actually love to write something to help others, but I've lack of knowledge both in the field and in English language :/

Thanks! It's nice to hear that about menu, because I was kind of worrying that they're not very good and I'll have to change a lot (I'm going to polish them anyway, people are mentioning lack of in-app back buttons).
v1.6.5
* changed dpi-based stuff to avoid crashes in devices with not-so-ordinary dpi screens
* updated sound loading to avoid crashes at the start of game
* updated in-game menus (remember - you can press "back" to pause)
* players can now restart level mid-game
* added on-screen back buttons for easier menu navigation
* "exit" button icon
* record table in level stats should now be scrollable in smaller screens

[GAME][2.2+] Falldown Unlimited

FALLDOWN UNLIMITED
Hi this game is very simple.
The rules: You need to control the cube, using your accelerometer, and let the cube "falling down" through moving platforms holes. You need to stay alive as more, as you can.
Game was maked on Unity 3D engine.
Controls: Tilt device to move the cube. Touch the screen to boost speed.
And now the main thing: I need to know, how it run on armv6/armv7 devices with resolutions from 800x480 to 1280x800. And how accelerator working in game on all devices (excluding GalaxyTab P1000 coz i tested it.). I want to make balance between cube speed and game difficulty - that why i'm asking you to test it and say your opinion. Game is free.
THANK FOR YOUR FEEDBACK!

Increase the speed of the game a little bit, add a options menu mayb? To set the speed to normal, medium, or fast.
Add certain power ups to change the color of the blocks to another color, and add a legend explaining what each power up does.
Small update and fixes.(new version in market).
Plans to do:
options menu with accelerometer setup and difficulty level tuning.
Bonus pickups remake.
(thanks to tarroyo)
Update v. 1.0.5
(some visual tweaks)
In development:
Accelerometer settings menu, difficulty level menu.
I like it, but it is quite annoying that it does not acquire a wakelock, and the screen dims and turns off...
(EDIT: Tried it on my GTab 10.1)
Hmm, interesting game but floors raise up too fast while I'm stuck at a REALLY slow pace trying to get to the hole no matter how much I tilt my phone. Maybe different colour options and difficulty levels for noobs like me?
But super smooth at the same time running with HTC Desire on sandvold's ICS.
Really looking forward to seeing what develops into though, and I'm sure that many hours will be spent on this. Great work
It's a pretty cool game; reminds me of the old falldown game I played on my TI-84 calculator.
I'm running a Samsung Galaxy S2 sgh-i777 with AOKP 4.0.4
Couple things that bothered me or I'd change.
It didn't prevent screen timeout (30 seconds on my phone).
I would like options to start at higher speeds.
Maybe a menu to turn off sound?
I do like the option to speed up gameplay when I hold-tap the screen.
Maybe add the ability to change the block colors or incorporate the color change into the gameplay somehow?
Google play is saying I can't download it! Any help? I'm on 2.3.5 as well!
Sony Xperia neo
MIUI V4 (4.0.3), OC to 1,4 GHz
Quallcom MSM8255 Snapdragon (ArmV7?)
854x480
Game works fine, but it's way to fast for me. The block slide too slow across the surface. I could have made it, but the block slide way too slowly to the holes. Wasn't able to pass more than 2 'walls'.
HTC Desire CM7 480x800 armv7
game runs perfectly, very addictive
would like an option to turn off sound, change sensitivity of the accelerometer
the feature touch to increase speed is a good feature only figured it out from frustration though because it was so slow I tapped the screen.
only went down a few levels so you may already do this, but would be a good idea to increase the speed as you go down the levels
initial loading takes a long time tho
edit
sometimes blocks stay white on levels you've already left making it difficult to see underneath. seems to be when your moving the block and it hits a square on the way through a hole
ads should only be on start menu and pause menu, on the game it's too intrusive
game should be able to keep screen awake because it's a game where you barely touch the screen so it is an issue
Great game!
Few suggestions/comments;
1) i get the occasional microlags (running a Galaxy S i9000) (and my phone can play high end games no problem so i'm guessing it's the game. - They're very occasional and it's not really an issue, but you might wanna improve this.
2) Can you set it so the screen doesn't turn off when playing when not touching the screen. I have screen off to 30s and if i dont touch the screen for that time, screen turns off, i turn it back on and i usually lose a life!
3) Add ability to turn music off. It get's a little annoying, especially if i was going to listen to music and play this.
I just thought you might like some feedback to help improve the game, And don't think im just complaining, this is a very simple and addicting game! Hats off to you sir!

On my Motorola Milestone (ARM Cortex A8) it is a bit slow. The phone has a limited RAM memory so it may also affect the game speed. And I will have to once again load the sw for speeding up the MicroSD card operations.
It is true that the screen went off after timeout was over.
I would prefer some options as well like switching off the music etc. - it is nice but certainly not suitable for midnight playing in the bedroom

First of all - THANKS FOR FEEDBACK!
I try to implement all your ideas in game. As about ads - I think to remove 300x250 banner from game, and 300x50 banner will popup only in loading screen. I add game speed option ( u can set initial speed of the game). And i will add sound on/off option. As for accel settings - i'm on the way, but it a little harder, that i though...
One more thing; highscores!
i'm getting impressively good but it forgets my hard work when i close the app!
That said i probably should do some actual hard work
Give us an option for calibration? Personally, I prefer for my screen to be calibrated back from a perfect 90 degree face-up. Super monkey ball for android does a great job with this positioning, in addition to moving around within levels.
Also, the cube moves too slow! I could play for hours if there was an option to speed it up.

[GAME][2.3+] run 'em over

*** UPDATE: AN ENTIRE NEW EPISODE ***
I finally finished it. It's only published on Google Play for now as I need to make slight changes for other stores. Expect it in the next few days.
What's new:
* drive through an infested cave
* 11 challenging levels
3 new vehicles (a beetle, a jeep and a construction vehicle) with a new upgrade;
upgrade your battery to prevent your lights going out in the dark cave
lots of new obstacles (explosives, piles of wood, earthquakes, vulcanoes, ground changes, crystals, mine carts, bones and more undead!
A teaser and a few screenshots below.
Hi!
Here's something I've been working on for the last five months.
It's a "drive through a zombie apocalypse" type of game. You can buy and upgrade your vehicles to be able to drive over several obstacles, smash crates and explosives and hit more and more zombies.
The game play changes a bit in the last few levels, but I won't reveal everything here.
It might seem a bit slow at the beginning and it's probably why I got some bad reviews already.
UPDATE: speed and acceleration of the first vehicle is now improved.
Check the link and the video+screenshots below.
Thanks for trying it out guys.

I've made some changes based on the comments and emails I received so far:
* first vehicle is now a bit faster and with more fuel by default
* breaking of crates and explosions are less cpu intensive
* rating button hides itself after posting a review
* fixed vehicle wheels (which looked like they weren't touching the ground)
* vehicle won't stop if you accidentally hit the left side of the display while accelerating
funny physics
which framework do you use?
AndEngine for game development, Box2D for physics.
Got another request.
Instructions can now be viewed before starting a level.
Bump. Anyone else tried the game? I'd really like to hear your opinion.
Tried it, it's really simple and relaxing, I'm enjoying it a lot
Btw i didn't understand the "tap on the right side when trying to climb a hill or driving over an obstacle", when i tap it seems to do nothing special. I'm stuck on the 4th level, but i think it's a skill problem

Hi _MirageX_!
I'm glad someone here is playing my game! Thanks!
You can tap quickly on the right side to give your vehicle a little push when you're stuck on a rock or just about to climb on the top of a hill.
It won't help you always if your car is not upgraded enough, but might make a difference in some situations.
You can also tap left a little first to push it in the opposite direction.
your advice worked perfectly, would be nice to have some other levels, cause the idea is awesome.
Oh, and different soundtracks any X levels, but those are just advices
_MirageX_,
I'll be adding more levels soon. Keep tight
Thanks!
New update!
Added an intro stage for first time players.
After almost three weeks, most of the complaints I got were about the speed of the first vehicle.
The speed is now increased, plus some of the upgrades are already applied.
In addition to that, there's a short level as I mentioned in the previous post.
new update!
v1.0.10
* fixed memory leaks
* fixed increasing lag after playing several stages
* fixed first vehicle upgrades getting reset to second grade
* added more in-game tips
* smaller rock in second stage to make it easier
* fixed a medium sized rock in third stage
* fixed wrong score counting in last stage
* fixed button for replaying intro stage after failing
Now also available on GetJar! http://www.getjar.com/mobile/775265/Run-em-over
and SlideME!

Hey, checked your game today,
Love it ! Although the idea not too much of a unique one, but the way physics are implemented gave it a new twist, especially the squeaking : ) suspensions
I love the graphics and the music, two suggestions:
- You might want to have some dynamic movement in the background, parallax or something.
- For the music, maybe add another background music with a different guitar riffs and switch between them, just in case users get bored with the same riff.
Again Very Nice game, run without much Jitter : ) left you a comment on GP
Test device: galaxy gio
hope you find it usefull
Thanks for the review and the rating on google play eli.r.
I really appreciate it.
The background actually already is a parallax, but it's one layer only. I aimed for better performance and tried to use the resources where it matter most.
I might be adding more music as I'm working on a new level pack right now.
will this work in my galaxy y duos gingerbread unrooted phone??
Sent from my GT-S6102 using xda app-developers app
arunasok3, actually it doesn't support small screens. Not because it wouldn't work, but because you would cover a substantial part of the screen with your thumbs.
You can PM me though and I'll share you the apk so you can try for yourself.
installed, first impression
the in game music quality is very bad (before ignition) please do something about (i know zombies can't work very well, but talk them in )
and please check the speedometer, the car slows down, but the needle in the speedo moves just a tad

[GAME][4.0+] Reach The Bottom - My first game. Would really love your feedback!

The gameplay mechanics are simple: Tap to make the miner jump from one rail to the other while avoiding the gears along the way. Initially I wanted to make an 'endless' game but decided along that in development, because there are tons of endless games out there, to instead create a game with a real end and not just a score race.
Basically, the game is one huge streamed level that you must progress through to reach the bottom and see what lies there with change in scenery, graphics and a few 'hidden' easter eggs along the way.

This is my first game, and since I had absolutely no programming or gamedev experience in the past, it was a real challenge for me (even tough the game mechanics are simple), but it was a really fun ride and I gained a lot of knowledge along the way.
I mainly created it in order to learn and to make the 'foundation' for future games and ideas that I have planned.
I would really love to hear your feedback and criticism especially on:
Is it too hard or too easy?
How is the performance (especially when the bottom ad is loaded. If it causes performance issues I might remove the ad entirely)
Do you believe the ads are too intrusive and if so, would you rather have them show up less (like once every 5 game plays) or pay a few cents to remove the ads entirely?
On a scale of 1-10 how 'fun' did you think it is?
Any improvements that you would like to see.
Nice game, and I liked the graphics, also the concept. Performance was good on my Nexus 7 2013 Edition, however it lagged a little bit in the middle.
I will play around with it more and let you know if I encounter any bugs. As of now it was fun to play :good:
Rated 5 stars on Google Play, cheers!
Ah, knew there was a motive to all those posts.
Well I played your game, it's not bad, I like the graphics, but I think the interstellar ads are too annoying, they appear way to often, as well as the video ads.
I was also hoping that the miner would be able to jump in to the middle as opposed to just the left and right walls.
---------- Post added at 01:03 PM ---------- Previous post was at 12:58 PM ----------
Suggestions:
1) if possible try and make the file size smaller, 33mb is a lot
2) the ad at the botom of the screen lags the game, do something to fix that

I think I know why it lagged in the middle, and I will fix it in the next update.
Great UI and nice App....

I don't have control over the content in the interstitial ads. If they show videos that's a choice my google AdMob.
1) Yeah, it should be smaller unfortunately given the large size images I can't reduce it's size. The game itself is only 10mb, but Crosswalk is the other 20mb.
2) I will remove the bottom ads entirely in the next version, they lag the game a lot.
Thank for the feedback
I would move the rate button somewhere else. I always clicked on rate instead of new game while playing, lol. Also the game should start with the main screen not directly into action. Anyway, I'll feature it in the portal

Wow, thank you so much for featuring it on the portal!
Thanks for the feedback, I will definitely make the rate button smaller and move it lower below the play button. I already have a nice list of improvements that will come in the next update and this is one of them along with starting the game on the start screen instead of the game screen.
Thank you again!
My GoldDigger disappeared randomly . You can check on screens. :<
When i got to the bottom i couldnt do anything. Everytime i pressed on the screen only jump count raised by one ^^.
yours achievments raised my lvl up to 11 from 5. lol
* Game isnt smooth on my Galaxy Note 2. Spikes are horrible . What kind of game engine do you use?
* You actually can't pause/resume/exit to menu at all .
* There's also a problem with gears. Sometimes you put so many of them... one on top of another.

Hey, thanks a lot for the feedback and for downloading.
All your issues are due to the physics engine I'm using (Coocoon JS native) which I will fix in the next update by using a different physics engine (Box2D web). I'll also add a menu button when you reach the bottom.
Thanks again for the feedback
looking cool .. Downloading and will rate it
Downloading right now...
Nice job! Keep up the great work!
Really nice game, you should add moving obstacles, like small mine creatures or something moving up, also how did you create this without prior programming skills? What did you use? It really is quite addictive but I think you should at least change the gameplay a bit, so it doesn't get stale like some other 'runners'?
193Mb of RAM.. with Lollipop with RAM-bug it's inusable.
Ok, I played it and liked it. My feedback:
1) For some reason my tablet got stuck on the splash screen. I had to reboot.
2) The music and the sound buttons don't seem to work quite right i.e. I had music enabled and sound disabled and all I could hear was the effect when jumping and when getting killed.
3) When the old man gets killed, the spark trail from the axepick goes on, as if the character was still descending.
4) The background is fun but sometimes I find it out of context (or maybe I'm just too picky )
Tested on a 10" ASUS TF300T. Will test on smaller devices.
Great job!

"Reach The Bottom" Android Gameplay
Cool game!! I always thought reaching the bottom is easy and then came this... very well made, would't have noticed that it's your first game if you didn't say so
Development.
I'm trying to do the same thing, but i don't understand Java and the way it works. I have a background knowledge of C/C++, Pascal and etc but i don't. How did you manage to learn Developing for Android? Did you follow any Tutorials, books, online teaching or something?
The game BTW is very nice, "Jumps" should be somewhere in a better position. Loved the Immersive mode. Game starts straight away though.

That should be fixed now. I just made an update to the APK in the Play store it should reach your phone/tablet soon.
The problem was with images being uncompressed as 32bit PNGs instead of JPGs. The performance should be increased dramatically now.
Thank you for downloading and for the feedback
