Hey, if I upgraded my hd2 to android (flashed the NAND ROM) but now I realized that Android won't even run b/c of a problem I have had from before, and I want to send it back and get a new one...
So, i flashed back to the original WM version I had before, I went to HSPL and flashed to the 2.000 ROM instead of the hspl...
Is my warranty voided now? Will they know I did all this?
and if it is can, what about insurance on the phone they offer to everyone (I actually took it) that should cover the phone even if it is dropped in a lake, right?
You can just revert back to stock some times just by flashing an official ROM or just following a simple unrooting process just search for your particular phone, as long as you make sure you do that, they won't know that you did anything to it.
Sent from my HTC HD2 using XDA App
Thanks, that's great!
Now can any one tell me what all im supposed to do to put the phone back the way it was (the way the warranty people want to see it)?
I found a guide about the Diamond somewhere on this website [http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=537496], and also looked over some other guids, and I have some quick questions;
'stock ROM' is this the tmobile windows rom I had on before right?
The tutorial says when I flash the stock ROM that I should also have a new stock radio version, this is not the case with me I still have 2.15.50.40, can I download 'stock radio' from somewhere?
Also, what's the stock spl? How do I check that?
Sorry for all the newbie-ism in the questions;
Also sorry that it says warrany instead of warranty, something must be wrong with my keyboard.
Thanks for any answers
If your radio didn't change you can change it by flashing the original one just look here
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=470306
Your stock ROM is wm 6.1, your stock spl is either 1.93 or 2.03 just check out here

okay, i had made a post but was apparently oblivious to the best wm6 rom thread so it got moved in there. but as i expected thats a thread most dont even visit because its annoying. and im not worried about that i just had another question that i figured i would edit it out and ask here.
for my second rom ill be trying how exactly should i go about it, i have seen a few posts on how to flash and such but i just want to make sure i dont mess up something thats well known..
i remember seeing somewhere where to update to a new rom you need to first update back to an old official one, is this true or atleast reccomended? (i just get goosebumps when i update the rom thinking im definately going to brick it and dont want to have to do it more than i need to)
also, by going back to an official do we mean the Tmobile 2.26 one that i see in the how to flash page? (again just being careful and thorough)
last question ( i swear ) on the howto page it mentions the button and wizard love rom, my wizard is already running xm6r4 as it was completely unlocked, do i need to do that now? when i put xm6r4 on i just flashed right over my Tmobile 2.26 rom
thanks, and sorry if these are stupid questions I did search but apparenly didnt pick out the right keywords

you should always flash back to the tmo 2.26 rom b4 you try another one... personally i go to button -> tmo -> new rom... seems to work well, but i have no idea if that extra step is really needed (but good for peace of mind )
I flash back to cingular's 2.25 rom and then on to the new one. I guess I could use tmobile's 2.26 but 2.25 has treated me well.
You flash back to an oem carrier rom such as cingular's 2.25 and tmobile's 2.26 so you know you have a clean wizard. You also know your extended rom has been flashed as well and won't cause any battery drain issues or problems.
If you have upgraded your radio and ipl/spl, after flashing back to your carrier rom your radio, ipl/spl will have been changed back to oem as well. In my case that means my radio goes from 2.69 to 2.25 and my ipl/spl from 3.08 to 2.25. I think those numbers are right.

I have to send in my titan this week to radioshacks warranty service to get a replacement. I have one of dcd's gps enabled roms on my phone right now. Can someone help me find a link for a post on how to relock my phone and put the official sprint rom back on my phone? I am using olipro's bootloader think its 2.4. Also, if I relock my phone and flash the sprint rom back on it will it get rid of my custom flash screens from ppc kitchen? Every time I flash a new rom on my phone the custom flash screen is the same and won't go away. Thanks!
what type of phone are you using (yes you can revert back)
Here is something for the kaiser but will give you an idea

Sorry all that and I didn't say what phone I have. It is a Titan through sprint
There doesn't seem to be a tutorial on your phone.... Go ahead and flash the original rom back for now and i'll keep sniffing around about the bootloader

Here's how you do it.. I've done it many times before on sprint phones.
1) "Re-Unlock" your device with a SPL that is overwritable. Read the thread here: http://forum.ppcgeeks.com/showthread.php?t=30560
2) Immediately flash with the titan 6.1 ROM from sprint. This can be had from: http://www.htc.com/us/SupportDownload.aspx?p_id=75&cat=2&dl_id=73
3) Enjoy a completely stock device! To answer your questions, yes, this will put the device completely back to "Sprint WM 6.1 Stock". All of your boot screens, bootloader, radio, and OS will be exactly as it came from sprint (assuming you got a Titan after the switch to 6.1).

Thanks for the help, I really appreciate it. Do I have to do the relocker process or can I just flash the sprint rom like I would any other rom? And what about the custom splash screen I was talking about?

Oohh.. one more thing.. You want to go back to "Sprint Official WM 6.1".. This technically is not "stock". Stock was WM 6.0 with a non-GPS radio. You risk bricking your device if you try to go from a GPS-enabled radio to a non-GPS-enabled radio.
It's not a big deal at all to send your device back with the "Sprint Official WM 6.1" ROM on it as this is a supported ROM from Sprint. Just wanted to make sure you understood the difference between "true stock" and "a supported Sprint ROM"
Hi all, i am new with wm phone. I am using my htc touch pro now and after i see the new touch pro2 i want to know can i install touch pro2 to run on my touch pro??? Is it called touchFLO 3D? or manila??? i want the new calender, contacts and the new sms in the new touch pro2
FLASH A NEW ROM TO YOUR PHONE...not yelling caps were on
It's probably not a good idea to create the same exact thread in multiple forums.
Go read what I posted in your other thread that you made.
thanks for the info, and sorry for multi post in the wrong forum will try to close that. And can i ask something? i've been reading the [Resources] Flashing your First GSM Raphael Rom (For Noobs) from the start, up to page 35 for now (i need to finish another 80 pages or so to complete reading it up) but i don't seem to find any question related to what i want to find out so i might just ask it here;
As i am new to flashing rom, i know if i want to flash some nice rom to my touch pro (i'm using the singtel WWE stock rom)
1) i need to hardspl it so i can flash any other rom into my phone, flash the new rom that i desire etc.. and the important question is.. if i want to completely reverse my phone back to the original stock condition, stock hardspl / stock rom etc (like from the 1st day i got it, very very stock and original). I know i need to flash back the stock hardspl and stock rom and so on... So after all the flashing will my touch pro be like a really original stock touch pro??? Or will it be i am only flashing another rom but it is an original stock rom back to my device... Anyone understand what i mean???
2) Actually i need to ask about the radio thingy but i think i'd better wait for my 1) answer, cuz if i can't get my phone back to the original stock condition after i flash some wm6.5 rom in it i might not want to risk flashing...
Any advice are appreciated, thanks
hardpsl is a one time thing, once you flash it, you dont need to keep using hardspl to try new roms. when you want to revert to the original rom, just go to HTC singapore's site, under support, go download the rom. it will be the singtel wwe rom. if you're worried about warranty, there shouldnt be an issue, i reflashed the singtel rom to my phone before sending it to harborfront for repair, and there was no mention of me reflashing the rom, and they repaired my phone as required.
ps, you dont really need to read all 80 pages of the thread, just get to flashing. hardspl, then try the energy rom (thats what im using) and see how easy it is.
cheers,

Hi guys,
nice work from JockyW, ookba and everyone doing the job to bring us excellent software (pls if i forgot anyone, don't be mad ). I really appreciated the RUU_MAPL_3VOLUTION_WM65_3VO.2.50.112509 for a long time but I will sell my Maple now. It time to move on and try something new. Thats why I need to go back to the Official HTC ROM. I just cannot get it to work...
Obviously just flashing the original HTC Rom won't do the job because of the Hardspl, but how do i get around this. I just need some help on going back.
Thanks in advance, UKFencer
160 hits and nobody got an idea...? Or is the answer too simple?
If i am missing something pls point me to it.
Thanks,
UKFencer
Sorry, I don't think I have any idea. I *think just flashing the original ROM should work, I have upgrade/downgraded other phones with factory/custom roms with no problem. I have a question on top of yours. If I don't Hard SPL, what do I lose? There's a thread about downgrading the HardSpl to 1.19 or 18, I don't know if that helps. I would like an answer to my AT&T question as well. Sorry about hijacking your topic but I at least bumped it.
Download original rom in HTC website. Thats all.
Or you could use goldcard model to flash back to original WWE ROM

where can i get that?
Sorry, for not replying any earlier, but was finishing my finally year project...took longer than i thought...anyway now i back to re-install the original firmware...
@Sonnguyen
doesn't work because of HardSPL...tried it.
@alinkwok
yeah, i've read about it...without a seccond mobile, i'll have to buy the software if i recall correctly.
So, any other tips where to look for howtos...?

Have you ever imagined looking into Wiki
If I were your Maple buyer I would apreciate more to have it upgraded to a cooked ROM, rather to have ugly stock.
You can go back and install any ROM you want

Yes, I agree with your sentiments regarding the ROM, point is however that once the custom ROM is flashed with the Hardspl, the original ROM cannot be flashed back, which is sometimes required, especially if something happens to the phone and it has to be returned for repairs etc to the retailers.
Strange, it´s the 1st time I know that an HTC device can´t go back to original ROM...
I´ll do some research...
The original SPL is included in the package you downloaded from here..... Just have to use it, flash original rom, and you are on your way....
How exactly do I flash the original spl nbh file? I tried replacing the hard spl nbh with the original and running RUU but the spl remained the same.
you need to get the one from here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=558003
there is a folder marked original spl in there. it is the same process you did when you put the hard spl on there, just using the original nbh
I finally got around to rooting and S-OFFing my phone today, while I was at it I used clockwork recovery to make a backup of the Stock VHA Branded ROM.
I saw a few people were looking for this so here it is. Feel free to mirror it or whatever, this is my first ROM-dump so if anything is amiss or I did something wrong please let me know. I still have the device available to make further dumps.
This is for the Desire HD (Obviously) Branded by Vodafone Australia.
hxxp://depositfiles.com/files/3x1c6v6hj
Sorry for posting a link as a new member, I thought this would be worth it.
EDIT: Obviously the dump is all at factory defaults, on first boot it should be like buying a new phone, from a bloatware company.
Except it will be a rooted bloatware rom?
That's the point People have been asking for it as a backup rom, as flashing a non Vodafone rom may void certain warranties, which flashing this back could increase your chance of keeping. I personally upgraded my own DHD to a much better ROM as soon as I could.
Awesome, ive been waiting for the stock ROM. Good Work

No worries man. Let me know how it turns out if you use it. Everything should be at factory defaults as I wiped the device with Clockwork before making the backup. If you find anything wrong just let me know in this thread.
Thanks Should be handy for warranty issues!
Thanks champion!
Thanks mate. I've downloaded and it all looks good so far (haven't flashed though to check).
Is it rooted with VISIONary r12?
Sweet, been waiting for this. Thanks mate!
Sent from my Desire HD
Yeah the process I followed was Perma root with VISIONary v12, install hboot, install clockwork test, use clockwork to wipe to factory and then backup to SDcard. I'm unsure as to the exact details of how VISIONary works at this time so it may not still be rooted, I don't know if root persists after factory reset.
Thanks! this is getting downloaded for safety/warranty reasons.
Thanks a lot for extracting and hosting the original (Vodafone AUS) ROM!
Am i right, that this is the only thing you need to set your mobile into delivery condition? If there are some other traces of flashing they might decline warranty, too!
Perhaps, if you have the time and pleasure, you could write a detailed how-to for newbies (with links to software you need, e.g.!) how to extract the original firmware.
I think this would be necessary if the DHD will be available in other countries on other network providers (with their own ROM).
Excellent! I'm just 2 days into my new DHD from Vodafone Oz and just about to do the same... Rooting!
I'll probably make a back for myself but I'm downloading this one too... Just to be safe.
Thanks heaps Kazuroka!
BTW - Don't listen to those lame ppl who don't have anything positive to add.
Just a note: I believe that this ROM, although the stock Vodafone image, is a rooted one. So if Vodafone have a moderately smart technical department they will still be able to tell that it is not running their complete stock image.
@ivolol: That's exactly what i'm thinking about! For e. g., changing ROM on my Windows Mobile phone requires a modification of the bootloader. If you flash back your old (original) ROM you have to remember to change the bootloader to original too. Otherweise you have the original ROM on your phone but another bootloader and this could be be detected very easily. I know that the procedure changing ROM on DHD is another than on Windows Mobile, but perhaps you have to think about more things than only flashing the original ROM?!

After flashing back the backup ROM I did not have root. I installed Terminal Emulator and tried to su, and even downloaded VISIONary+ and re-Rooted the device. However I did still have the Eng hboot, as that was not included in this backup. I have a copy of the original hboot from when S-OFFed the phone, I will see what I can do about getting the original hboot and stock ROM into one package for everyone, and then perhaps write a tutorial for flashing them back individually. I MAY NOT, however, write the tutorial as I am still rather new and would not like to lead people into doing something the wrong way. I will also include the stock hboot in a seperate archive for those who have already downloaded this release.

This is the original system.img that comes on a brand new Vodafone Desire HD.
This image was dumped manually without Visionary messing with stuff, and Obviously the image is NOT rooted. It's completely stock.
This would probably be the best image to use if you're worried about returning the phone
Note: I have had to return a Desire HD to Vodafone who did not check that it was rooted and S-OFF'ed - So, don't worry too much.
OzJD
Why is your file so much bigger than Kazuroka's original upload and also just wondering your method of extracting the img?
Thanks
