Hi guys,
nice work from JockyW, ookba and everyone doing the job to bring us excellent software (pls if i forgot anyone, don't be mad ). I really appreciated the RUU_MAPL_3VOLUTION_WM65_3VO.2.50.112509 for a long time but I will sell my Maple now. It time to move on and try something new. Thats why I need to go back to the Official HTC ROM. I just cannot get it to work...
Obviously just flashing the original HTC Rom won't do the job because of the Hardspl, but how do i get around this. I just need some help on going back.
Thanks in advance, UKFencer
160 hits and nobody got an idea...? Or is the answer too simple?
If i am missing something pls point me to it.
Thanks,
UKFencer
Sorry, I don't think I have any idea. I *think just flashing the original ROM should work, I have upgrade/downgraded other phones with factory/custom roms with no problem. I have a question on top of yours. If I don't Hard SPL, what do I lose? There's a thread about downgrading the HardSpl to 1.19 or 18, I don't know if that helps. I would like an answer to my AT&T question as well. Sorry about hijacking your topic but I at least bumped it.
Download original rom in HTC website. Thats all.
Or you could use goldcard model to flash back to original WWE ROM

Sorry, for not replying any earlier, but was finishing my finally year project...took longer than i thought...anyway now i back to re-install the original firmware...
@Sonnguyen
doesn't work because of HardSPL...tried it.
@alinkwok
yeah, i've read about it...without a seccond mobile, i'll have to buy the software if i recall correctly.
So, any other tips where to look for howtos...?

Have you ever imagined looking into Wiki
If I were your Maple buyer I would apreciate more to have it upgraded to a cooked ROM, rather to have ugly stock.
You can go back and install any ROM you want

Yes, I agree with your sentiments regarding the ROM, point is however that once the custom ROM is flashed with the Hardspl, the original ROM cannot be flashed back, which is sometimes required, especially if something happens to the phone and it has to be returned for repairs etc to the retailers.
Strange, it´s the 1st time I know that an HTC device can´t go back to original ROM...
I´ll do some research...
The original SPL is included in the package you downloaded from here..... Just have to use it, flash original rom, and you are on your way....
How exactly do I flash the original spl nbh file? I tried replacing the hard spl nbh with the original and running RUU but the spl remained the same.
you need to get the one from here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=558003
there is a folder marked original spl in there. it is the same process you did when you put the hard spl on there, just using the original nbh

okay, i had made a post but was apparently oblivious to the best wm6 rom thread so it got moved in there. but as i expected thats a thread most dont even visit because its annoying. and im not worried about that i just had another question that i figured i would edit it out and ask here.
for my second rom ill be trying how exactly should i go about it, i have seen a few posts on how to flash and such but i just want to make sure i dont mess up something thats well known..
i remember seeing somewhere where to update to a new rom you need to first update back to an old official one, is this true or atleast reccomended? (i just get goosebumps when i update the rom thinking im definately going to brick it and dont want to have to do it more than i need to)
also, by going back to an official do we mean the Tmobile 2.26 one that i see in the how to flash page? (again just being careful and thorough)
last question ( i swear ) on the howto page it mentions the button and wizard love rom, my wizard is already running xm6r4 as it was completely unlocked, do i need to do that now? when i put xm6r4 on i just flashed right over my Tmobile 2.26 rom
thanks, and sorry if these are stupid questions I did search but apparenly didnt pick out the right keywords

you should always flash back to the tmo 2.26 rom b4 you try another one... personally i go to button -> tmo -> new rom... seems to work well, but i have no idea if that extra step is really needed (but good for peace of mind )
I flash back to cingular's 2.25 rom and then on to the new one. I guess I could use tmobile's 2.26 but 2.25 has treated me well.
You flash back to an oem carrier rom such as cingular's 2.25 and tmobile's 2.26 so you know you have a clean wizard. You also know your extended rom has been flashed as well and won't cause any battery drain issues or problems.
If you have upgraded your radio and ipl/spl, after flashing back to your carrier rom your radio, ipl/spl will have been changed back to oem as well. In my case that means my radio goes from 2.69 to 2.25 and my ipl/spl from 3.08 to 2.25. I think those numbers are right.

Without HardSPL installed, if you upgrade your ATT Tilt to ROM 1.93, you could not down grade back to 1.56. Well, for some reason, my phone wouldn't boot with 1.93 so I needed to go back to 1.56. When I tried, I got an error that was something like invalid vendor ID. So, instead I flashed the ATT Test rom. After that, I was able to flash 1.56. For me, this was a great find. Maybe it Will help someone else later.
where can i get the original ATT Tilt to ROM 1.56.
I want to restore my tilt to the factory settings.
please help.

well you could start by reading this thread right here:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=335568 this way you can see how people have done and what issues some people might be running into. Plus you can post whatever issues you have over there.
and for just the instructions consult the wiki:
forum.xda-developers.com/archive/index.php/t-335568.html
It has pretty much all info you need to revert back to stock rom and spl for warranty/exchange purposes or simply if you want to go back to att crap.
good luck.

hard spl flashing...
hello skipper, thesire, and all others,
i wanted to reiterate that you should really read the forum linked above because it has a special "force usb" version of the hard spl installation that mau very well help you.
also, we could all maybe help you a bit more if you could post your firmware/spl versions (the numbers listed at top left on bootloader, but you probably knew that already, lol) Just so we can get a better idea of your situation- the more info the better!
i do a lot of kaiser and athena rom building, I posted a few decent roms at the beginning of the year but i havent released one since... (workin on one now though) but i am not exactly the caliber of rom builder that some of these guys are ... anyways, my point is that i have been in A LOT of hairy situations like this, but persistance is the key, so if i can help in any way i will....

hey genius you are replying to the wrong guy. I DID NOT make the post. The guy who did i already suggested the solution you provided (even before you did) under jockyw's hardspl thread where he posted the same exact problem ....
i have managed to get in to the bootloader to flash the hard spl,using the 1.56 ver of sspl..however,neither of all the hard spl works after that.i cant flash any of the hard spl packages. im really suprise this is happening as i have done a lot of flashing back and forth for my tytnII. oh yah,my spl is 3.29 from the official HTC WWE wm6.1
thanks for all the help..
Does anyone know how to do this? help please
Flash it again with an original ROM.
lol. deedee, did this require you digging into the depths of your brain?
lol, keep it simple, just how i like it
It was one of those flashes of inspiration moments.
Great fan of the KISS school of thought.
lol. nifty.

so these roms are .exe files. when i flashed my cooked rom it was a .nbh file and i just put it in the root of my storage card and when to bootloader mode. for this original rom thats an .exe file, how would i flash it? please help me because i don't really know. sorry for the inconviences, im still new to this stuff.
................connect your phone using a usb and make sure an activesync connection is active. Run the .exe and go through all the steps. It starts flashing and the percentage bar shows. It finishes and re-boots. Your done ....
and no need to do a hard reset after flashing original rom
thanks. i have one more question. if i flashed a rom using the storage card method, when i change my rom say to another cooked rom, do i just add the new .nbh file to the storage card and delete the old .nbh file containing the old rom?
Me = n00b
I have a touch diamond (gsm) with 6.5 but I wan't to downgrade to the original 6.1 rom from htc's website. Will hard-spl (olinex) prevent me from doing that?
Thanks in advance
No it wont hurt, in fact the hard spl will be reverted back to HTC original one, so all is well. Dont worry and just go for it... just curious, why you flashing back to original?

Hey, if I upgraded my hd2 to android (flashed the NAND ROM) but now I realized that Android won't even run b/c of a problem I have had from before, and I want to send it back and get a new one...
So, i flashed back to the original WM version I had before, I went to HSPL and flashed to the 2.000 ROM instead of the hspl...
Is my warranty voided now? Will they know I did all this?
and if it is can, what about insurance on the phone they offer to everyone (I actually took it) that should cover the phone even if it is dropped in a lake, right?
You can just revert back to stock some times just by flashing an official ROM or just following a simple unrooting process just search for your particular phone, as long as you make sure you do that, they won't know that you did anything to it.
Sent from my HTC HD2 using XDA App
Thanks, that's great!
Now can any one tell me what all im supposed to do to put the phone back the way it was (the way the warranty people want to see it)?
I found a guide about the Diamond somewhere on this website [http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=537496], and also looked over some other guids, and I have some quick questions;
'stock ROM' is this the tmobile windows rom I had on before right?
The tutorial says when I flash the stock ROM that I should also have a new stock radio version, this is not the case with me I still have 2.15.50.40, can I download 'stock radio' from somewhere?
Also, what's the stock spl? How do I check that?
Sorry for all the newbie-ism in the questions;
Also sorry that it says warrany instead of warranty, something must be wrong with my keyboard.
Thanks for any answers
If your radio didn't change you can change it by flashing the original one just look here
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=470306
Your stock ROM is wm 6.1, your stock spl is either 1.93 or 2.03 just check out here
