Bluetooth ever be fixed? - Android Software/Hacking General [Developers Only]

Greetings All,
I have asked this question in the HD2 forum and to no avail, it just got buried in the rest of the questions, so I decided to take a stab here.
All the HD2 roms that are out there (dont know about the rest of the phones and roms that come out), but the Bluetooth Mac Address in Nand roms and zip roms are still generic, if you have two HD2 phones they cant communicate and this is frustrating, and all the searching in the world has come up with nothing about a fix, or even a way to alter it just like we were able to with the wifi mac address.
Now as I also stated in the other forum, I actually found 1 Kernel that it DOES work on, but unfortunately its an SDCard Rom kernel, and its the ONLY kernel that worked even in the sd version of android. And not being a developer, I cant expand it, nor would I think I would know what I was looking for, but I would think the solution would be easy (again not a programmer) to port over to nand/zip roms.
Why isnt this being focused on? MODS if this is in the wrong forum please move, but being a general android forum I think its the best place to get some visual on this problem.

wow 101 views and not even a reply in 12 hours. Did I ask the ultimate question that has no answer?

Forum responses (None or too complicated)

Hello everybody on XDA developers,
I found a lot of useful information on this site, don't get me wrong BUT.
More and more I'm getting under the impression that new topics often get no or little replay because the user is either a newbie or he asked a question which has been asked before. Now, I'm no newbie although I'm not an expert either. I asked several questions and the responses are poor.
There is so much information (most of the time too complicated for non computer specialists) that it is often easier to launch a new topic. However, if one doesn't talk or know about, changing .nbf files, writing Batch files replacing HimaUpgradeUT.exe files and only God knows what else, you get little or no response.
The day somebody asks me, in some aviation forum, about the pressure changes in a JET engine which is going from SUBSONIC to SUPERSONIC flight or the aerodynamic effects on a helicopter rotor which is going into autorotation or other pilot related stuff, will get an answer adapted to his knowledge so he will understand what I'm saying. What else is the use of a forum?
Maybe XDA-developers should add a forum for the "less gifted" in the Forum index.
Anyway, Happy New Year to all of you.
well maybe if the problem is that the specialists have little patience or problems transfering their knowlage into something mear humans can understand the new forum would just have a pile of unanswered threads
i think the problem you address are really 2 problems
1
general pocketpc questions mainly i think from people who are used to cellphones and cant call themselfs superusers on normal pc's they need it explained in a cellphone kinda way. these are questions like
how do i make IE stop displaying pictures and stuff like that
2
people who dont really know that much about complex stuff like changing their rom and manualy intering all the grps settings, in the new rom
and adding things to their extented rom and such
these people often would mostly benefit from a guide with pictures and possible a list of the most used cellphone company settings
I'm not sure I understand your first point, but I do agree on your second one.
Now we only need someone with lots of time and motivation to make such guidelines with step by step instructions and pictures...
Greetings

What exactly is ROM????

Hey guys,
I know I am going to sound really newby, but that is true in this PDA world for me. I recently got my HTC love, and I really love the phone.
I have surfed XDA for quite a while, and I am truly amazed at the number of PDA users. It truly is a great collection, but I have not been able to find answers to these questions. The search option has not helped much but give me several different ROM types and versions, but I dont know what exactly they are so can someone help me out on these questions please:
What exactly is ROM?
What is Flashing ROM?
Different languages of ROM?
Manila 2D ROM? Kaiser ROM? Diamond ROM?
It would be really kind if someone could answer these questions.
I appreciate your time.
Thank You
ROM stands for Read Only Memory and is the part of your phone's memory where the Operating System is stored - equivalent if you like to XP or Vista on the PC.
Flashing the ROM refers to replacing the ROM that came with your phone with another - usually written or "cooked" by enthusiasts who build in there own programs and preferences. Flashing is best done after much study as there is a chance you can wreck your phone. If you want to modify your phone it is best to start off using CAB files.
Yes there are different languages of ROMs available. A Manila2D ROM would have the Manila2D interface built into it. Kaiser and Diamond are other phones in the HTC range.
My phone slows down with the cab files, and I can see how memory plays a part there.
Also installing manila 2d was way too laggy, I kind of want more memory and space available.
So if I do the flash ROM, and have this huge ROM space, all I have to do later is to install cab files on ROM right?
Thanks for your reply Restorer.

this is the questions an answers section, in otherwords if someone has a question give them an answer. if you are going to say "read the wiki" you need to atleast give them a link on where to start, otherwise you are just spamming.
now to ANSWER the question....
yes you can install cabs, its still windows mobile its just like when you a get a computer from dell, dell will give you windows but they will also give you a bunch of "Dell-ware" (usually a bunch of useless shareware someone is paying them to load on their computers)
When you get a new rom you still get windows you just get a choice at what you want on your phone, instead of what your service provider thinks they might be able to sell you or what they think you will use.
You can get roms in all different flavors, anything from something striped down to the very core of the operating system, or something loaded with multimedia features, or something based around a program such as a manilla rom.
to read up on this go here, MAKE SURE YOU READ, if you follow direction you will be fine but if you just jump in without reading everything you will brick your phone.
Here is some good readin that will answer some of your questions....

List of ROMs?

Is there a list of ROMs anywhere or can could people tell me what is available? I have spent hours and hours searching the Internet, searching this forum and I have only come up with a few and I know there has to be more than what I am finding.
The main reason I want different ROM is because I don't want my Tilt to lock up with my bluetooth anymore and hopefully my sound won't disappear making me reboot to get it back. Everything else is a bonus.
So any help is appreciated before I drive myself more insane than I already am.
(and no, I don't want to know which one is the best, I will figure that out on my own )
I really doubt you've searched, because there was a recent thread attempt to list them, and you'd have known about our WIKI.
We do not give out handouts. Put in the EFFORT.
Your phone shouldn't be locking up often with the stock ROM. If it is, there's probably something wrong with it or your bluetooth device or some crummy software you've got on it.

Put in the effort? I have been doing this for 3 days now and have been up until 2:00 in the morning trying to do all of this and I get a message like this? I have never had someone be like that to me on a forum. Unbelievable. Nothing like being helpful.
Please do me a favor and close this, I would rather spend my days searching instead of this crap.
I flash roms more often then a Trench-coat wearing man in a70's porno I normally end up on blackstone, PDA ultimate or the vista one all three IMHO are rock soild stable and feature packed if you read the wiki which is sticked at the stop of this forum you will learn all you need to learn about unlocking the wiki also contains the links to all the patched and bug fixes as well as a huge number of add-on's
Closed, follow suggestions, read the wiki for Kaiser it has a comprehensive list of avaliable stock & cooked Roms.

Htc touch pro (RAPHAEL) synchronization

Hi guys, I wana ask you about synchronization htc touch pro (raphael) on winodws vista. How can i synchronizate it vit the usb? i search at this forum a lot of post, but i didn't find enywhere. So please help me guys i want to change my rom to 6.5 . That's why i need this lession.
You mention you want to sync and then at the end of your sentence, it seems more likely that you are also looking to upgrade/flash. The question now is, do you want to save anything that is currently on your phone or would you rather upgrade to a 6.5 winmo ROM and start over?

No i dont wana to save all my files . I wana have a real windows mobile 6.5 on my htc touch pro (raphael)
So then you want to flash or upgrade your device. Do you care if you flash a stock or a custom ROM? Before you consider, read THIS. Keep in mind, that site isn't a "bad read", just might seem like the person might be a tad upset at at&t
I would suggest a few threads for reading before you even consider flashing.
THIS thread has a collection of other threads that are helpful/useful. I would consider starting HERE for flashing a GSM device and HERE for CDMA. If you find it is too much to read, I can try to walk you through the steps but no idea as to when I will have the time to actually do that. The wiki that everyone is referring to may have been changed in some cases. THIS is the working link to date. Additionally, if you choose to flash a custom ROM you will need to HARD-SPL your device BEFORE YOU FLASH! Supposedly you can flash stock ROMs all day long and worry less. To me, the major difference between a stock and a custom ROM is over-all behavior. Stock ROMs are more straight forward and custom ROMs can be difficult to manage if you don't know what you are doing. It's quite a shock to most new to the custom ROM deal but if you think you are ready for it, I would suggest using the ROM in my sig/signature. Again, to me, this ROM represents the latest winmo enhancements to-date, even though winmo is becoming an obsolete OS, slowly but surely
One additional peice of advice to you my friend. If you find yourself confused by all of this, you can return to this thread and I'll try my best to explain things to you. All we ask is if your question pertains to something that the thread answers, please try to stay with-in that thread. To me, searching is an art, if you type in jibberish, it is likely that your results will turn up nothing useful but in order to get better at it, you have to try it out for yourself! With that, I hope you enjoy your device and the awesome members of XDA!
n-Joie! (Enjoy)

whats next?

I'm running baseband version from 07-15-2011
and rom Bionix Reloaded v1.4.1
Not saying I dont like it but I dont see any new roms that I can try
I really dont know know how to what cm roms are besides the name. and no idea what port roms are.
no gingerbread roms have been updated or made since last year from what I can tell by the Ref guild listed on the front of Development and im not sure how to or if it is a good idea to upgrade to ICS
any advice?
Seems like you're new to modding, I highly suggest you stay with the ROM you're running if nothing is wrong (don't fix what's not broken).
If you decide to flash other stuff,PLEASE for the sake of everyone,READ READ and READ some more. Abuse Google to find out what cm7 stands for and other terms you don't know.
Don't assume
Yeah I've got a lot of problems with the phone (most are described on"Google" as problems with this model). And like my past phones changing the Rom changes/fixes the problem because good developers know how to fix problems. Yet by the list, nothing looks new and exciting. Sorry I've only dealt with roms and rooting along with minor other things.
I believe the benefit of a forum is to be correctly informed. Info on Google may not always be up to date and or correctly relate to you. That's why I ask questions (only an idiot acts without thinking) in a forum about my phone so people with the same phone can input not disregard. Searching on this site doesn't answer basic questions. Out of all my other phones I work on this site does how ever have topics that keep me informed vs having to go over pages looking for Rom updates.
If there was another forum that specialized in my phone and was as knowledgeable I would go there. But as far as I have found, most sites just use links/content from this one.
Sent from my LG-P999 using xda app-developers app
Also, don't use the reference guide, manually go into the development forum and look around.
The reference guide tends to be outdated.
Some developers also use rootzwiki as their forum, mainly faux, so be sure to check there too.
