I am trying to use SWM to install the DroidXIME-nonroot.apk on an HTC Aria using Windows XP.
When I choose the file I get the ready to install screen but when I push ok I get the following error:
Unhandled exception has occurred in your application. If you click Continure, the application will ignore this error and attempt to continue. If you click Quit, the application will close immediately.
Could not find a part of the path [my chosen path]
When I click continue I'm brought to the home SWM page but am unable to click Go.
I read that this is because I need the MDAC program for Windows. However, I was told I am unable to install the download because of my version of windows. I then read that I needed to overcome this problem by doing a windows service pack update; which I did. However, I am getting the same problem and am beyond frustrated.
Can someone help me please????

Ace Hack Kit
That will walk you through the root/s-off/unlock process. It's been VERY much simplified over time, now it's just a 1 step process. Read the effen manual a few times before you start - but like I said, at this point it's very straight-forward.
Once installed hit up the MIUI thread. Basically you'll download the ROM to your SD, boot to recovery, perform a wipe, and flash the ROM
And thank you for your service and dedication to this wonderful country of ours!
He said the adb drivers won't connect
Any specific error messages? At what point is this happening? Is he trying to run the hack kit or just trying to access an ADB shell?
The hack kit contains all necessary adb files/drivers
Make sure he's done all of this:
Make sure HTC USB Drivers for Android are installed (included in the Hack Kit @ tools/windrivers)
Disable all malware detection, including Windows Defender
Uninstall HTC Sync
Uninstall Droid Explorer
Uninstall iTunes or stop service
Uninstall Other phone pda or tablet software
We just tried on our lunch we disabled everything the HTC drivers were already installed with sync uninstalled. We were at the pre-step where you run the command as an admin and the command window comes up for a second and closes itself. Does his phone need temp root to run the kit?
trouble rooting my phone
when i run the hack as admin on windows 7 it give an error message this is what the error message says
check adb connectivity
shad0fox04/2011
service not running
error error error
phone not plug in or driver not installed or usb debugging not enable
error error error
pres any key to continue the it just cut off i checked all of that and everything is good to go so what is the problem lol
did u ever find out y adb wont connect im having d same problem

Has he by any chance tried a different USB port? And is the phone in charge only mode, it's not mounting itself as a disk drive automatically? I don't know how feasible it might be, but if he has another computer available try running it there and see if you get any different results. At least then we might be able to narrow down better whether it's the software, the computer, or the phone.

Another simple thing that I have to ask about...you guys did extract all the contents of the hack kit somewhere on your computer, correct? You're not trying to run it from the .zip?
If it is extracted,
go to the tools\win\ directory.
Hold Shift and Right-Click in an empty spot, select "open command window here"
type "adb devices" and hit Enter
You should see 12 alpha-numerics listed under "List of devices attached"
If you don't see anything under this, then for some reason adb isn't recognizing your phone is plugged in. In which case I'd try a different USB port or computer
Hello,
First, sorry if I put this in the wrong section but I have searched and cant seem to find an answer anywhere else.
Is anyone else having a problem getting QXDM to start up? I have had it on my computer for about 3-4 months now and have used it a few times (Last time I remember for sure using it was about 3 weeks ago) I tried to use it today and I get an error after the little QXDM box pops up in the middle of my screen now. The error reads "Error initializing DIAG server" I tried uninstalling the program and re-installing but that does not help either. I am pretty sure it is version 3.09.19, is it maybe an old outdated version now?? Does anyone have a link to a newer one if that is the case? I just can't think of anything I have done to my computer recently that would have caused this problem? Does know what caused this and can help me fix it please?
Thanks in advance guys, you rock! I have learned alot from here but I am still a little bit of a noob so please do not laugh
****NEVERMIND*****
A member already helped me
How did you manage to bypass the error?
PM me and I will help you if you still need it

Running as administrator actually giving the problem. If i click it straight way, it opens but fields are greyed out in NV browser.

Managed to run QXDM without administrator privileges and get the fields in NV browser to become editable, provided that QPST has connected to the target port (not port that keeps switching and cause phone to reboot repetitively. This previous condition was fixed by flashing another Android 4.1.2-based ROM over the previous 2.3.5-based ROM). Learnt that the editable value in "Input" column becomes editable with a 3-click command from mouse.
I am facing issue with I can try qxdm installation but once running it, it is showing qxdm tool is already installed. If u know any one please help me quickly and ASAP.
Hi everyone,
my A510 is driving me crazy.
Here is what I’m trying to do:
I want to run Ubuntu and connect to it with AndroidVNC.
I emulate the Ubuntu with Terminal Emulator and it is running fine without any errors.
I go back to the Homescreen and open AndroidVNC. I fill in the necessary fields and hit connect.
And instantly I get this error message:
Code:
Error!
VNC connection failed!
Failed to connect to /127.0.0.1 (port 5900): connect
Failed: ECONNREFUSED (Connection refused)
I tried to connect with Jump and basically the same result. I tried different ports or “localhost” instead of I.P. I used a different emulator and no success.
I also tried different ways to run Linux but none of them solved my Problem.
The androidVNC itself is running fine. I can connect to my Laptop (TightVNC Server running on it) via WLAN and control it.
The only thing it won’t do is connect to the Linux running on the Terminal Emulator.
Do you have any ideas or hints on how to solve the problem?
Android Version: 4.0.3
Kernel: 2.6.39.4+ (stock)
Tablet is rooted – Busybox and Superuser installed
Regards
Rix
Found this interesting and tested it on my A700.
The vnc password is "ubuntu" even if you set a different one on first start.
In the terminal window must show up the line "New 'X' desktop is localhosr:0" after you entered the screen size.
Now I can connect via VNC. I use "ubuntu" as nick, password and username. IP is "localhost".
Hope these few hinty may help.

Thanks for your reply.
I have reset my Tablet to factory settings and rooted it again.
Installed Terminal Server and AndroidVNC. Emulated Linux and again the same result.
I don't know why it does not want to connect to the localhost.
My settings are exactly as in the description(s).
Did you use the image provided by this app: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.zpwebsites.linuxonandroid ?
This worked for me, even if the result is not very usable. Must figure out, how to use a different window manager, the default one is missing some graphics and has problems with the launchbar icons.
Tried this one as well. No success.
I just don't get it. The device is properly rooted with the "one click" version. Root check tells me it is rooted.
Busybox is succesfully installed. The Linux is running in the emulator but i just can't connect to it.
The strange thing is:
The error message is the same, whether I fill in the fields in AndroidVNC or not.
It absolutely refuses to connect to 127.0.0.1 or localhost.
Really frustrating....
Did you check if the vnc server is really running?
"ps -a" should show a "Xtightvnc" process.

OK. I don't know why, but all over sudden it works.
The only thing I need to do know is install a VPN Client using IPSec. Challenge accepted.

Thank you very much man!!! i knew it was a simple thing. IP "localhost" PW "changeme".
I killed myself looking for this answers. Kali installed and running on VNC.
I have a Surface 2 Windows RT tablet and I'd like to run TightVNC on it. My googling has lead me to believe I can accomplish this if my Surface is jailbroken. I have downloaded version 2 of the jailbreak tool and when I run it I am prompted for UAC and a second DOS window pops up that says "Error: the system can't find the specified registry key or value" that flashes and disappears. I'm still unable to launch TightVNC after this.
Can someone guide me as to what I'm doing wrong with this tool? Thanks!
