[Q] my XT 720 bricked >< - Milestone XT720 General

hello all, yesterday i tried to edit the framewrok_res.apk to edit the status bar, but i forgot to change the r/w properties before replacing the system file.
After replacing, my XT 720 immediately shows black screen. and every time it stops at the M logo ...
I downloaded RSD lite as someone posted before, and the usb driver 4.6.5, but then RSD Lite couldn't detect my phone when i entered the recovery mode.
Could some one please kindly tell me how can i do><
sorry for my bad English

Yes -- try freshly installed Motorola handset USB drivers. If you have a 64-bit windows 7, it may be a little difficult to get it working. Try invoking RSDlite in XP compatibility mode.
Big triangle is recovery mode. Bootloader mode is even terse. Power up with VOLUME_DOWN + CAMERA. It'll just print 1 liner to connect USB cable.

Need HELP REALY bad ... sad story ...

Hi guy's ... can anyone help me out ?
My Milestone is stuck at the ANDROID text
the problem sound easy to fix ... but it's not in this case
my Milestone is not rooted , it have Android 2.2.1 bootloader 90.78
and the worst thing is it cant connect to ANY PC
i try to connect it to 3 Pc's whit fresh OS installed
I did not try to flash any rom or any thing to it
problem appear after a simple reboot
(1. Windows 7 64bit , 4Ghz quad core 16gb ram = unknown device)
(2. Windows XP 32 bit , 3.5Ghz dual core 4 gb ram = nothing happens)
(3. iDeneb 1.6Ghz dual core 2gb ram = nothing happens )
I've installed correct version of drivers for bought windows OS's
and have ADB installed
i put phone in to bootloader mode "d-pad Up + PWS"
and :
- try-ed original usb cable = indicator light on but no charging and light go off wen i pres power button
- try-ed new original usb cable = indicator light on but no charging and light go off wen i pres power button
- try-ed generic 5 pin micro-usb cable = indicator light on but no charging and light go off wen i pres power button
- try-ed nokia 5 pin micro-usb cable = when connected phone auto boots and try to go to os
phone charges no problem whit wall charger
so i cant use RSD-Light (cant flash anything to it)
any OR i try-ed failed (signature errors)
followed any and all guides i cud fined on similar problems
i try-ed recovery menu (pwr + x and volume up + camera)
hundreds of "wipe data / factory reset"
hundreds of "wipe cache partition"
nothing happens
i don't have warranty because i got it second hand
guy's pleas HELP ... i don't want to give up on my milestone and i don't have the money to buy a new phone or take this one to a repair shop .
update 1 :
this is the log from RSD-LITE (SWDL.txt)

Update 2
guys I've trey-ed and try-ed and try-ed but nothing i did worked
so i took it to the repair shop ... so the USB port is broken and i have to replace the main board of the phone an it cost 360 Ron thats 83 Euro or 119 US Dollars and because most o you don't know thats a lot of money in Romania at a medium salary of 200 - 250 Eros per month ...
bottom line is that i cat use the USB to connect to a PC to use RDS-Lite to flash the phone
so i em stuck until the day (GOD of Android , Linux and Internet willing) some one finds out a way to install / flash a rom to a un-root-ed milestone from the SD card in recovery mode "update.zip" ... or till some one finds a way to sign "update.zip"'s so it will not require root ... or i fined a original signed "update.zip" to fix my milestone's os ... or some one find a way to root from the sdcard a milestone whit no vulnerable recovery installed ...
if i find a way to fix this i'll post a how to about it maybe i have the smarts to develop a way to fix this like i did a hacked Servicebook for BlackBberry so it worked whit standard data plan ...
but i'm a NOOB at android so i have a lot to learn
so till that day comes (if ever) i'll go to the bank and get a lone and buy a
"HTC Desire Z"
thank you every one for trying to help ... XDA -Dev ROCKS!!!!

You said that you got the phone secondhand? Is it possible that your USB port is broken? Or was it working fine before the bootloops?

it was working perfectly because i used the usb to upgrade the os from 2.1 to 2.2.1 whit Motorola's upgrade thing . and worked perfectly whit Media Link software ...
but it is possible the usb port o it cud be broken to but hat is what i'm most afraid of because i heard that in my country we cant get parts for the milestone ...
i don't care it the usb port works anymore or not if i can get the phone to work
it took me 2 years to get my hands on a milestone because of monetary constraints and to have this happen ... you know ? ... it jut a phone but still ... it's disappointing ...
i found the OTA update for the droid "update.zip" and try-ed to flash it form the sdcard but no good phone did try but got something about "cud not read the whole signature"
dose a original version of the os or update exist that the phone will accept from the sdcard "update.zip" ?
i try-ed to sing update.zip using Openssl and SignApk but no luck
OpenSSL
openssl genrsa -out key.pem 1024
openssl req -new -key key.pem -config C:\openssl\openssl.cnf -out request.pem
openssl x509 -req -days 9999 -in request.pem -signkey key.pem -out certificate.pem
openssl pkcs8 -topk8 -outform DER -in key.pem -inform PEM -out key.pk8 -nocrypt
SingApk
java -jar signapk.jar certificate.pem key.pk8 update.zip signed-update.zip
Sorry to hear this Well first of all, do not try to flash anything that is meant for droid, as the droid does not have a locked bootloader and the milestone does. Second of all, have you tried doing this: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=11372663&postcount=51 ? Credits go to person who posted comment

i try-ed the SDL.bat thing but still nothing RSD-lite stil did not find the phone ... and still unknown device in Win7 and still nothing in XP ...
i'll try the nandroid thing if i can find a nandroid backup for the FR retail version
but i think it's useless because i cant get OR to run whit no Vulnerable Recovery
but i'll try any thing at this point no mater how useless
First boot the phone into the bootloader mode by pressing the power button and the up direction of the D Pad.
Once u are in the bootloader mode, u can plug in the USB cable and use RSDlite to detect the phone and flash the sbf file.
That is how me and most other people unbrick our phones when we first screwed up at attempting to flash the G.O.T Milestone update sbf.

Problem with Panasonic Eluga Switch software and Download Mode

Hello, i have an Alcatel Idol 3 5,5 (6045) and i decided to root it, so installed all that i needed (drivers, adb ..). But the problem is that i need to unlock the OEM thing, so i need to flash my smartphone to its original stock ROM, so i downloaded the Panasonic Eluga Switch one (which is a rebranded idol 3) and launched it, but the problem it seem that my device CAN'T load in download mode, i tried anything :
Uninstalling/Reinstalling all drivers
Executing the software as administrator
Executing the software with Windows XP compatibility mode
The volume + and - and USB method
The ADB method, it worked for anything else (rebooting in fastboot and recovery mode) but it won't work for the download one, it just reboot normally, i don't know why all is exactly correct, i tested with MTP and PTP usb modes, and in two differents windows, and nothing worked at all.
Please, is someone have the solution to boot my stupid idol 3 on download mode i would be grateful to him. Cordially.

Does he need to maintain VOLUME UP, DOWN and POWER at the same time while plugging the USB cable ? Or just maintain them, wait for the idol 3 to start and after plugging the USB cable before it load the system ? Thanks in advance. (excuse me for my poor english)

The screen remains black in download mode, aftsr you get the red screen(volume up/down and power) then volume up screen will go black and remain black, that is normal behavior...

[Guide] Unbrick Your UNLOCKED Lenovo P2a42

Hey Friends,
You must have seen very good days with Lenovo P2 but when there comes a bad day when your phone stops responding to button holds and restarts. You may or may not have a clue what to do to get your phone working again just like before.
I got into this situation where only thing my phone was able to operate was a RED LED on connecting it to my laptop. Then I had to read tens of pages on XDA to find answers to all my questions. If you are in such a situation and your phone is UNLOCKED then you have come to the right place. Procedure is quite simple but remember, I am writing this guide to define complete process from blackout to complete update so follow this guide as per your needs.
I faced this situation of Total Blackout / Dead Phone (Almost) with only Red LED working and it can be very scary. So, here is the simplest procedure you can follow. I want to appreciate all those people who helped me in finding a way to boot my phone with each and everything working. Long story short, let's get this done.
Tools Required:
I am mentioning here all the Tools you will need. I will urge you to download and save these tools in case you want to unbrick your phone any time:
1. Minimal ADB and Fastboot setup for PC
2. Lenovo USB drivers v1.1.33
3. Qualcomm USB Drivers
4. Qualcomm Flash Image Loader (QFIL) v2.0.1.9 for your PC in case you have corrupted your phone's IMEI and/ or Baseband
5. Blankflash.bat in case you want to recover from total blackout (Attached)
6. Stock MM S048 Firmware for Lenovo P2 in case phone doesn't boot
7. S048_ModemTelephony.zip in case your phone boots through Stock MM S048 but SIM isn't detected and IMEI is missing. I have made a complete modem zip file for installation through recovery.
8. S251_ModemTelephony.zip in case your phone is on latest firmware and doesn't detect SIM and has lost IMEI. I have made a complete modem zip file for installation through recovery.
9. QCN file for recovering baseband version and giving you most precious network signals. (Attached)
10. WinRAR or PeaZip for uncompressing files
I will recommend you to have a specific folder for keeping all these tools in a single place.
Procedure for Unbricking:
Before going with the procedure, make sure you have downloaded all the files you need, updated Lenovo and Qualcomm drivers etc. Here is the procedure:
1. If total blackout with red LED notification when connecting to PC: Unzip blankflash.zip to a folder in C drive. Now connect your P2 to PC through USB, press volume+, volume- and power button simultaneously and double click blankflash.bat. You might have no success in your first try. Just keep trying and it will load your phone to Fastboot. Restart your phone in TWRP if installed and install a working ROM for your phone after doing a wipe. If all is good and phone works OK then great but if you have lost IMEI and baseband then it is better to reinstate your phone through first MM stock ROM S048
2. Install S048 firmware through Minimal ADB and Fastboot - use flash instructions in .txt file.
3. Wait for startup of phone. Check if fingerprint, BT, WIFI and SIM work if all work then OK.
4. If fingerprint, BT, WIFI and SIM are not working then check IMEI through dialer. Dial *#06#. If IMEI is not available then install latest TWRP through Fastboot.
5. Start P2 in TWRP recovery and install S048_ModemTelephony.zip. Restart phone to see if WIFI and SIM work.
6. If SIM is detected but not giving signals and Baseband is shown as unknown then extract 000000_0.qcn file given in .7z and restore through QFIL and restart your phone into Fastboot.
7. Now, install stock recovery of S048 firmware through Fastboot and restart your phone.
8. Use your phone like you normally do and update your P2 till firmware S251 and see if everything works including calls. Update your phone through OTA.
9. After OTA installation, stock recovery may say that update failed. Just press Back, go into Wipe user data menu and Wipe Cache only. Restart your phone which will be updated to latest version and will ask you to update to a newer version. Allow it to download the next update.
10. After installation of S251 update, install latest TWRP through Fastboot and install most recent version of LOS 16 so that your vendor partition is stable and free from any bloated files. Now, use your phone just like you want to.

You should download S048 and use flashall.bat inside that archive to install it all. However, if you lose IMEI or baseband then you can use modem and qcn files given in this thread.

If red light blinks, your phone can be detected by your laptop. Check ports in device manager settings and you'll see a new port with Qualcomm 9800 series number. If that's there, try blankflash to start in fastboot. It might need some tries before startup. Be patient and keep trying till you are in fastboot.

Press Volume+, Volume- and Power simultaneously and double click flashblank.bat. It might take some tries to finally install the scripts and start phone in fastboot. It took me 20+ tries to finally detect my phone through blankflash. Please, read OP completely.

No. Keep USB connected. Try blankflash. If it doesn't detect phone or go ahead. Close command terminal, double click again and keep doing it till it processes the files. If it is stuck somewhere. Close terminal and try again.

Check if your USB cable is alright and appropriate drivers are installed. Otherwise reinstall drivers, restart your PC and try again.

I think you might have damaged some hardware. But anyway if you want to use blankflash, I have a method.
In lenovo p2 we have another mode called QDloader mode, in which we can use blankflash. For entering into this mode, it's little tricky but, can enter in one or two go.
So, here's how:
1. Switch off the mobile.
2. Press the volume up key,
3. While holding the volume up key, insert the usb cable and at the same time press the power button (this is the trick, we have to insert and hit at the same time).
And voila! :highfive: you will see black screen with only red notification led blinking.
we are into QDloader mode. Now use blankflash :good:
