Hi,
I have a Samnsung I617 and using Garmin XT version 5.00.20ws; my Windows Mobile version is 6.1
When I go to "Destination" and select "City" I start typing in a city name and it crashes, then shows the following message:
"Read Access violation at data address 0x22000018.
Program address 0x03FB0730 in background thread NULL (CSubAppThread::Run Garmin Mobile CT)"
Why could this be happening?
I've hard reseated the phone, and reinstalled Garmin XT and I get the same behavior.
Thank you,
Matias.

Did anyone get Mobile Gmaps to work on the S710?
http://www.mgmaps.com/
I can't get GPS to work with the latest version. I'm using an external BT GPS on Com6. Apparently with older versions people using WM5 got it to work on Com5. Unfortunately I can only choose Com6 and Com7. Perhaps the HTC preinstalled Java VM is no good and we need IBM J9. Some Java environments do not offer COM ports.
EDIT:
Just found some instructions how to run it on WM5 here: http://www.mgmaps.com/winset/
I've got no time today, perhaps someone else can give it a try?
(prolly instead of downloading the CE version you better take this and from the download use Windows Mobile 5.0 Smartphone Edition ARM CLDC 1.1, MIDP 2.0)
EDIT2:
It works great! Got GPS to work with the latest Mobile GMaps version (1.33.09)
The trick was to use IBM J9 and in MGMaps GPS configuration select Settings - GPS - Select Device - Serial
It shows a list of COM ports where my COM6 wasn't listed. Select the right Softkey and select add custom COM port and type COM6.
I love the Mobile Tracking feature combined with Google Maps.
The only thing which doesn't work proper is the compass. The green pointer is not shown most of the time.
The other annoying thing is that many mobile operators require a proxy. I haven't figured out how to bypass this.
For the latest news on this. See:

Basically Mobile GMaps now works fantastic on S710 and the official Google Maps and TrekBuddy apps also work great.
Hi,
I am new here. Thanks for this forum!
I have a big problem with my new o2 xda comet and TomTom One to use the TomTom Plus services (weather, traffic) via bluetooth. TomTom does not support Windows Mobile 6 devices.
I know that Microsoft deleted the bluetoth DUN-service inside WM6. At why-did-we-remove-bluetooth-dun this is discussed. But in this forum exists a workaround at This is an All-in-One cab to install the DUN-service. I installed this patch.
Now my TomTom One can find (pair) the Xda Comet as a possible to use mobile phone.
The 2nd part of the installation fails:
After selecting the country (Germany), the ISP (o2 de), the mobile phone ("other", because not in list) the dial string (at+cgdcont=1,"IP","internet"' OK-AT-OK 'ATD*99#' CONNECT "") my TomTom One shows that it cannot connect wireless. I edited the \ppp\gprs-connect-chat file with a UNIX-like editor but nothing works.
Due to other forum postings the DUN-patch works well with other mobile phones.
After days of searching and changings for the right configuration I cannot find anything to solve this problem.
Do you have any ideas to connect the o2 Xda Comet with TomTom One to use the TomTom Plus services?
Thank you very much.
Hi,
after more and more searching I found no solution.
Due to this and the costs of the TomTom Plus services I decide to buy a 2nd SIM-cart from my provider. I will use the 2nd card in an old mobile phone only for bluetooth-DUN-data-transmissions.
Thank you Micro*oft for your excellent software.
I've installed TomTom 7 (7.4.50.9028 repack 3) and purchased a TomTom 720 map (v7.20.1803) which installs and works fine on the device.
But I cannot get map share to work. I've created an account at My TomTom and set my device to TomTom 720. I've enabled mapshare on TomTom on the device.
When I first start TomTom Home (v 2.3.1.92) I says I have an invalid TomTom installation, but clicking OK lets me proceede. In to upper right corner it says my map is 41 week out of date and that there is 26713 corrections waiting. But when I select "Update my PocketPC" it says that "The TomTOm server did not understand your request. Maybe your HOME version is outdated". But I have the latest version.
I've tried various tips like deleting "ttnavigator.bif" but that does not help.
Have anyone gotten map share to work?
Have you ask Tomtom support how to get mapshare to work? I think you should ask them
I have been exchanging some e-mails with TomTom. In France, the ppc version is not yet out but just about to be.
They have advised me to wait few days until the 7 comes out, then to buy the new version.
Until now I have been operating version 5.21 with success and no trouble, but human being such, one needs to upgrade, LOL
do we have any map and gps program which do not need to connect to the internet for htc Mozart??
There is navigon select. But it requires some work to load US maps. That and you already have to have the maps from the iPhone software. Navigon xap is free and you can get it on this forum but you would have to purchase the iPhone app to get the maps.
Sent from my HD7 using XDA Windows Phone 7 App
Appart from the Navigon select (which came free with my T-Mobile contract) there's also the $40 Garmin Software
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1158116&highlight=Garmin
but this downloads the map on a per-route basis (not sure if you can download them beforehand via WiFi)
but, as already pointed out: there's Navigon select:

have been running this version of bing since it came out and loved it. now keep getting message "sorry we couldn't find this location" or " we were unable to generate your route. try again?" same thing on wifes phone too. tried uninstalling and reinstalling but same thing. any ideas? if I just use locate me, it shows me on map and tracks me fine. no recent changes to our phones. is microsoft somehow not supporting this anymore?
mods, if this thread is in wrong place can you move it? I don't understand message I get about no questions in this forum? I have posted them in past?
WM 6.5 and Bing 5.1.2010.6280
I have same problem as previous poster - Bing can locate my current position but cannot locate any other position so navigation is unavailable.
Timing of this seems to be about when Microsoft dropped Windows marketplace for WM6.5 devices.
Are there any alternatives that provide turn-by-turn GPS navigation on WM6.5 devices? Any fixes for Bing?
Or is it time to move on to Windows Phone 7? If so I Will have to drop Verizon as they have no hardware selection, AT&T has some good stuff. Or maybe Android or iPhone...
oK, found this info from a thread on another forum.
msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/cc966764.aspx[/url]
this is the problem. was hoping someone could come up with fix? there is topic on migrating from tokens to keys, but it is code. since this is microsoft app, I guess they would have to rewrite the code. considering they turned their back on us win mo 6.5 users (stopped my phone service, stopping marketplace, now switching this bing) I doubt they will do it. Hoping someone else could?
bing wm6.5 gps fail
When I Google "bing wm6.5 gps fail" these posts above are top result, when I Bing it, nada.
Anyway, looking into the Bing config file I see a couple of interesting keys:
<add key="SearchPublicKeyUrl" value="http colon slash slash api.m.bing.net/SearchService/Search.svc/publickey" />
<add key="LocationServiceUrl" value="http colon slash slash api.m.bing.net/locateMeservice/locatemeservice.svc" />
Following the url to the locate me service appears to be an active service.
The url to search service indicates "Metadata publishing for this service is currently disabled."
The foregoing may be why my Bing on my WM 6.5 phone can locate me but find nothing else so navigation is effectively disabled.
911 and the Government/police can still track me tho...
this totally sucks! bing was a huge reason i am able to stick with a touch pro 2. now? why not just go to a dumbphone? or do i have to spend a good amount of money for something like copilot 8?
either way, major bummer
Having same issue since Microsoft stop supporting windows 6.5
